The staff was friendly and energetic - they had families laughing and even packed up our to-go boxes for us! My only comment is that certain dishes need more flavor/seasoning to it. The atmosphere of this place is definitely a great addition to the Durbin Park area! The owners must have invested quite a bit into making this look so modernized. From a surface level, this place looked pretty clean as well, granted it was recently opened in the last weeks. We arrived a bit too late to join in on the hibachi experience here (full disclosure, our party arrived an hour before closing), but there will still many parties there once we arrived. We ordered two Chef's special roll orders (The Jana and the spider roll), a chicken teriyaki entree w/ white rice and a Teppanyaki dinner special + scallops w/ fried rice. Our first dish of CHEF'S ROLLS arrived-- boy WERE they SPECTACULAR and eye catching. The rolls were arranged on the plate on a large leaf with a decorative tree branch that has red cherry blossoms on top and an artificial blue bird perched on it. Both ROLLS WERE very DELICIOUS and I especially enjoyed the Jana roll topped with several different kinds of roe (fish eggs). Unfortunately the other two meals we don't have anything special to say about. They were both seasoned pretty poorly, despite looking fairly fresh. The TERIYAKI CHICKEN entree was A DISASTER. It was presented on a cast iron skillet platter-- which wasn't even close to being hot enough, leaving the dish ENGULFED IN an UNCOOKED ONION FLAVOR. Not only was the chicken dry, but it was literally placed on a bed of white onions, little which were cooked beneath it and the vast majority were not. I would advise GREAT CAUTION when ordering ANY TERIYAKI ENTREE UNLESS you have a LOVE FOR ONIONS. The menu picture was quite misleading for this one. The teppanyaki meal was drowned in their house sauté sauce and just made everything on the plate taste so much the same. Every other bite, some of the vegetables would have a smoked flavor, but the scallops were a bit too gelatinous to our liking. Overall, the presentation of their rolls were pretty impressive. In fact, the pricing for the rolls was pretty spot on for their exceptional quality! Unfortunately, whomever priced these entrees from the kitchen, is way out of their league for the poor quality being delivered. read more

I have visited twice and had great experiences each time. I would highly suggest doing the hibachi, as it combines entertainment with food. I had the same chef on the different visits, and he was hilarious each time. Be warned, he tried to give you sake shots from water bottles into your mouth and flip food in the air for you to catch! The food is cooked quickly and correctly, and I had no issues with the soup, salad, fried rice, vegetables, or shrimp. There was plenty of food, and one visit I took the rice and vegetables home as leftovers for lunch the next day. they also make delicious drinks too, and my favorite so far is the Tokyo Peach. You can bring the whole family or come with a small group of three friends. I know when they first opened, they sent out flyers with $20 off hibachi, but I'm not sure if they are going to continue that real or not, so keep an eye out in your mail! read more

The food was great but the restaurant had some major maintenance issues that really made it an uncomfortable dining experience. In the hibachi area the air wasn't working properly so our whole family was sweaty and we weren't the only ones; many customers were complaining. The floor was also VERY slippery, like to a dangerous point and neither of the women's toilets flushed. With a relatively new restaurant in such poor shape, it made us worry about the kitchen's state. We won't go back, sadly. read more

I love this place. What a gem! It's very clean, people are very friendly, and the food is delicious. Try the Teppanyaki Grill. They give you an awesome show and most of the chefs seem like they really want you to have a good time while you're there. I find that their sushi some of the best around. And the waitress staff is attentive. The only thing that was a little odd to me is that they don't offer you dessert- they bring you your check soon after the chef finishes and this last time me and my party were actually looking forward to dessert but it wasn't offered and we already had the check so we didn't bother. Went to the restroom and there was an employee in there. He finished his business, walked out without washing his hands, and went into the kitchen. I was so disappointed. New sushi/habachi restaurant in local area! My family of 4 went out for dinner and were all so impressed!! Everything was so tasty and our server was so friendly :) You can't go wrong! The Chicken Fried rice was great and large enough to share family-style. We also have the hand rolls a try and they were so good! Heaping amounts of protein packed into a rice-filled seaweed hand roll. Fresh and only $5! I consider myself a sushi snob and the fish was fresh and well displayed. The individual there did not part her lips, but waved her hands to the desk behind me. I turned around and a worker moved from the bar to the podium. I requested a seating for one at the hibachi/teppanyaki table. Only to be advised they DO NOT SEAT individuals at the hibachi table. REALLY?? So, if the table seats, let's say 10, and a group of 3 and 6 are seated, you would not seat anyone that arrives alone??? Or, if an individual arrives, you limit their experience at your establishment??? Amazing. I was offered to order and have the food brought over to me at a table. But, that is not the reason I came. Great new addition to the Durbin and Bartram area. We have Asian fusion restaurants in the area but Jana has a hibachi grill which adds a flair to the dining experience. When you come in there is a bar immediately to your left, straight through are sit in tables and the left side of the restaurant are the hibachi grills. We all have our go to meal items but the sushi is very good and they add little decor to the plate. The kids meal is large and sufficient to feed a child. The fun part is the hibachi experience especially if shared with a large group. read more

Super fresh and the sushi chef Alex took the time to talk with us. It was reminiscent of a more intimate sushi place complete with snack. We will be back to visit Alex for sure. read more

We've had several great experiences here. The food has been great every time, the portions are more than great as well. The experience was good with hibachi and the table service. They're usually very prompt with seating and letting you know hibachi availability. The servers have been great with our son. They brought him kid's chopsticks and they offer high chairs or boosters. We were excited when we saw that there was a new Japanese steakhouse in Durbin Pavilion and we were not at all disappointed by our first visit. We sat at the sushi bar and received incredible service. We felt like celebrating - Monday? We ordered Prosecco and a handful of appetizers: Tuna Tataki, Fried Gyoza and seaweed salad. Very disappointed with the restaurant not sure if they can't keep personal working or if it was the covid hit that left them that way. Service was bad . They only had three waiters on the floor doing multiple sections of the restaurant including the hostess greeting people and then working the bar. After a long wait we got our food and it was good no complaints on that. If anyone knows of a bartender and waiters looking for work I saw a sign as I was leaving they really need the help. Although it wasn't my best experience I think if they had the personnel to work as they get busy my experience would have been different. Brand new habachi restaurant here in the Durbin crossing area! My wife and I have been to a ton of this type of restaurant (Benehana, Habachi Yo) and this one by far has the tastiest food ever. The clear soup actually had a great taste which is so unlike the others. The shrimp, steak, and salmon was cooked to perfection! The chef was super entertaining and nice to two kids we had at our table! The staff are super attentive and nice. The restaurant really surprised us as it looks a lot smaller on the outside than on the inside. Very nice atmosphere. This is now going to be our go to Habachi place! So, Let me start out with I've been excited to try this place out. It's 10 minutes closer to our home than the two in Saint Augustine. It's new so I was giving it time to get the kinks out and the crowds to die down some. I went tonight and while the atmosphere is great, the staff was friendly and the chef was fun....these are the only positive things I can say. I ordered the Jana special which is lobster, Chicken, filet mignon, scallops and shrimp. Everything tasted the exact same like teriyaki and soy sauce. The rice was crunchy and not from being undercooked but from being over cooked. I wasn't impressed in the least. I gave it a two stars because the staff was friendly but this will probably be the last time I try Jana. Note other folks had the same complaint. read more

I was a little hesitant to try after reading a few so so reviews. I am SO glad we gave it a try this restaurant with out 14 month old! We got here just a few minutes after 5 pm and we're sat right away. They immediately took our drink order followed by our food. Within minutes we have waters, soups, and salads. The chef then followed and had a great sense of humor. The food was delicious and I had plenty of left overs to bring home. We will be back!! read more
