When we ordered our entrees we noticed on the kid's menu they don't offer combos like they do on the adult menu. My kiddo had a hankering for both chicken and steak, so we ordered him the steak, I got the steak and chicken and gave him my chicken, and my husband got the steak and chicken. So typically when we've come here we love the food and the entertainment of having a hibachi chef. They normally make it really interactive and fun, this time around was a different story. Our hibachi chef was pretty lackluster, no throwing the egg, no funny quips about the rice or veggies. It wasn't really dinner and a show. One of my favorite items is the Japanese fried rice, because I like the crispy bits you get when it's cooked on the hibachi....no crispy bits. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was flavorful, but disappointed in the lack of show and the rice this time around. I'm hoping this is a one off.

I sat in a booth and I know that this is so picky, but the seats were so far back from the end booth that I had to sit on the same side as my friend to reach the table. Not a dealbreaker, just uncomfortable. The food was great though! I had a tempura shrimp roll and found it crispy and yummy. The vegetable udon was the star and it was packed with flavor. Will go again!

We ordered the shrimp tempura, bagel roll, and spider roll for sushi, along with the shrimp and steak hibachi, which she thoughtfully split onto two plates for us without even being asked. The sushi arrived first, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Soup and salad followed, then the hibachi entrée , all timed perfectly so we never felt rushed or overcrowded with dishes. The shrimp was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly, and the fried rice seasoned just right with herbs and spices that complemented the entire meal. Every part of the experience flowed from start to finish. A return visit is already in the works this month. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. When I politely explained that the food was unacceptable and requested a refund, management became argumentative instead of trying to resolve the situation. Rather than addressing the obvious quality issues, they seemed more concerned with refusing responsibility. Between the questionable freshness of the fish, cold steak, poor food quality, and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are far better sushi restaurants in Jacksonville Beach that actually care about the quality of their food and their customers.
