    Try the sausage!!!
    Carmen W.

I had not been to Bella pizza since they closed their location by Keystone. I was passing by Clay Terrace and decided to pick up a takeout order for a tasty dinner. After biting into a slice I know I won't wait as long to go back. I'm obviously one of those people from the East coast who loves NY style pizza that you can fold to eat. I also love that you can just pop in and get a slice of pizza warmed up for a quick bite. You can order the pizza online and Bella also has good deals. I got a extra large 2 topping pizza, pepperoni breadsticks, and a 2 liter for 25$. It's in the there combo deals when you order online. And there are 3 locations. My boys love pepperoni so I got pepperoni all over and then sausage on half. I want to let you know the sausage they use is not your average sausage this is the only place that I order sausage pizza from because it is soo delicious. My only complaint is that they don't put enough. I also almost forgot to snag a photo before the pizza was devoured. Definitely try this place.

We have been patrons of this establishment for years. Today we picked up a pizza, just a regular cheese pizza - nothing extra. This pizza literally had barely any cheese or red sauce on it. If this is how they're going to make pizzas, I will decide to shop somewhere else. See pics to illustrate the poor quality received.

    Mushroom pizza and cheese breadsticks

Very disappointed! I have ordered from Bella a lot and have had both good and bad experiences, but today was by far the worst. I ordered a mushroom pizza for delivery and when I opened the box I found all of the cheese and toppings slid off and was in the corner of the box. I will scoop it up and put it back on the crust and eat it. I'm just sad.

Bella Pizzeria store front. Watch them make pizza through the window.

In two words: cold and greasy. I looked at their website, and it said online orders were closing in 13 minutes. I quickly placed an order (14" pepperoni), and it said my pizza would be ready at 8:10pm. I didn't have anything to do, so I went ahead and drove to the store. I parked outside the pizza shop, and could see everything through the front window. I was about 25 minutes early, and their order tracker said they were prepping my order. A short time later it said my order was being made. I waited in my car, watching them mop and clean up through the window. (It was close to closing time.) The tracker still said my food was being made, but I didn't see any pizzas going into the oven. I went inside at 8pm (10 minutes early) while the order tracker STILL said my order was being made... but my pizza was sitting on top of the oven! It had to be up there the entire time I waited, because I never saw them take a pizza out of the oven. The pizza that I picked up 10 minutes early and the tracker said was being made was ALREADY COLD. I took my cold pizza home. The sauce wasn't very good, the pepperoni was filled with grease, and it was just a bland, nasty meal.

Bella Pizzeria was the PERFECT place for a mummy and daughter dinner date! When shopping and walking around Clay Terrace has left you feeling hangry and with a hankering for pizza this place is perfect. With their New York style pizza pie you will not be left wanting... Here they have many different original pizza combinations you may choose from or quite the selection of toppings for you to create your own pie to enjoy. And if you just can't agree on a topping(s) you can always do a half and half! Get creative and make it your own. Nobody every learn much of anything not thinking outside of the box, right!?! And don't forget that the best way to enjoy a nice slice of New York style pie is to fold it length-wise and THEN stuff it in your mouth! Enjoy my pretties :)

They had a nice selection of draft beers for a pizza place. There were about 12 different drafts and they weren't your typical selections. My advice is get here early or you'll be standing in a long line of 20-30 people outside. I ordered the Cuban sandwich on pita bread. It was ok. It wasn't the best I've had and I probably won't order it again. The toasted pita bread made it harder to eat and it came with deep fried chips that may have been a little overcooked. My wife had the Meatball sub and said it was very tasty. It came with 11 meatballs and my wife commented you needed to eat the meatballs down the middle of the sub first before you could eat it as a sub. There were a lot of meatballs and it also came with same overcooked chips. I'm not sure what the draw is for this place. Maybe it's the pizza. It seems they serve a lot of them both in the restaurant and take out. If I come back I will try the pizza to see if that's what the hype is all about. We will try coming back on a week night to avoid the crowd.

It looked like she was the only server on shift for the whole time we were there, meaning she was running throughout not only her section inside, but going outside as well! Despite being so busy, she made sure to check in on us multiple times. Our garlic bread was cheesy and tasty, although we wished it was a little more garlicky! My salad was very refreshing and quite large for a small portion. My husband loved his turkey sub as well! My husband enjoyed his pizza flavor wise, but he prefers thicker crusts. However for me, the crust was PERFECT! I love a thinner, greasy crust. NY style, CA style, and similar are my favorite. These pizzas are great for that! The only problem we ran into was the toppings. The kitchen accidentally messed up on my pizza and put a different topping than what I ordered. When Grace quickly had them remade it, the second pizza had the correct topping.... But was now missing a topping that was originally on the first pizza! It honestly didn't matter at that point, because the pizza was absolutely delicious. The cheese was stretchy, greasy, and gooey. The sauce was pleasant , and again I love a thin crispy crust! The management was kind enough to take off my pizza from our bill as an apology for the topping fiasco, without any complaint from us urging it. I would definitely love to have their pizza again!

Where King Dough failed was on the Circuses as Channel 7 food critic James Ward used to call it. There's Breads and Circuses. Breads is the quality of the food. Tastiness, balance, quality and quantity. Circuses is the presentation, service and restaurant ambiance. Server failed to bring utensils, napkins and condiments with the food. We had to go to the front desk to get them. No bid deal, minor complaint. The server also did not cut and serve the first slice to me and my date. Further, the slices were not cut through so we had difficulty transferring the slices off the serving platter onto our plates. Lucky we didn't end up with a slice in our laps. No spatula provided. Had to ask for pepper, grated cheese and hot pepper. We dined outside. Should have been indoors. South facing patio was full sun for most of the meal. And there was an old chicken bone under our table. I wasn't expecting a Michelin experience but come on! Clean up the patio. The server apologized up front for the pitcher of water having tea stains on it. Maybe buy some new pitchers and use them exclusively for water? Makes me wonder if this restaurant is circling the drain if they can't afford net water pitchers. At least King Dough does not tack on a 3% charge for paying with a credit card which has become an annoyingly common standard practice in many restaurants.

This is a hot spot for a certain kind of Carmel crowd who wants to have a lil' cheeky drink on a day that ends in Y (or two drinks ... or three. They don't judge at Pizzology.) Or so I'm told. I got boots on the ground reporting for me. But it's also a restaurant for families. And a restaurant for casual dates. And a restaurant if you just want great food. Pizzology gets wood-fired pizza right. The crust is chewy yet slightly charred and crispy in all the right places. The pizza flavor offerings are simple but also creative. They have a dozen or so chef-crafted pizzas, so you can order a pizza that has been thoughtfully created. But if you want to go rogue, then you can also create your own pizza from ingredients like peppadew peppers, corn puree (what?), smoked mozzarella, asparagus and lots more. Large pizzas feed two, maybe three people. Small pizzas will feed one person. I was with a group of people, and we ordered a variety of things. The best thing that I tasted was The Varro, which is a pizza with red sauce, pork meatballs, fresh garlic, blobs of ricotta, parmesan cheese and parsley. This is one amazing pizza! I specifically ordered this pizza for the ricotta blobs, but I left with the memory of the garlic. Woah! If you like garlic or need to ward off vampires, this is the pizza for you. Other things we got included the Margherita pizza, which was so good and simple, with lots of fresh basil. And The Bama (white Alabama barbecue sauce, chili flakes, grilled chicken, banana peppers, caramelized onions and mozzarella). The Bama is spicer than you might think, but it was very tasty. Other people at the table got salads and bread sticks, and they were very happy with them, so I feel like you can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu here. The wine list is decent here! You'll find some nice wines at OK prices. They also have a wide variety of cocktails, plus a small beer menu. Hours are limited, as Pizzology is only open for dinner, starting at 4 p.m. If you're visiting on a Friday or weekend, I'd call to make a reservation. This place fills up quickly!
