Idk we used to love Bella for NY style slices with a little flop so you can fold it if needed. Tonight the pizza and salad both seemed different and I didn't enjoy either. The antipasto salad was my fave and it used to have cold rolled up sliced ham and white cheese (provolone or mozz?) along with olives, pepperocini, onion etc and tonight it was a lot of salami and pepperoni, no cheese so the salad is now just too overpowering spicy with the cured meats and brined items, there's no balance. The pizza today seemed overdone from how it used to be. The underside and crust were crunchy and dry, it used to be chewy and softer. Bummed bc this was a favorite spot but I'm not excited to eat hard pizza or spicy salad either again as it seems like both have changed. read more

The cheese was barely melted - no slight carmelization of color - the bottom of the crust - just barely golden - and the dough under the cheese was completely gooey and raw. I had not been to Bella pizza since they closed their location by Keystone. I was passing by Clay Terrace and decided to pick up a takeout order for a tasty dinner. After biting into a slice I know I won't wait as long to go back. I'm obviously one of those people from the East coast who loves NY style pizza that you can fold to eat. I also love that you can just pop in and get a slice of pizza warmed up for a quick bite. You can order the pizza online and Bella also has good deals. I got a extra large 2 topping pizza, pepperoni breadsticks, and a 2 liter for 25$. It's in the there combo deals when you order online. And there are 3 locations. My boys love pepperoni so I got pepperoni all over and then sausage on half. I want to let you know the sausage they use is not your average sausage this is the only place that I order sausage pizza from because it is soo delicious. My only complaint is that they don't put enough. I also almost forgot to snag a photo before the pizza was devoured. Definitely try this place. read more

Visiting some family and they ordered Bella's for dinner. They are from New York and say the pizza is decent for New York Style in the Midwest. We got the White pie which was pretty good! Just needed some Hot Honey on it. They also ordered a chicken bacon pizza and then a classic cheese. This is the kind of pizza joint where it's probably best if you pop in for a slice and eat it right away. I ordered my pizza whole and took it to go, and by the time I sat down to eat 20 minutes later, the pizza was cold and unimpressive. We also got breadsticks and garlic knots, and both of those were hard and cold, despite being wrapped in foil for the drive home. If I get a whole pizza from here again, I'll probably warm it up in the oven before eating -- I think that would improve it a lot. Bella is located in Clay Terrace, and I literally had never noticed it until I went looking for it. So if you're like me, look for the tiny pizza place located between Cold Stone and the now empty building where Forever 21 used to be. There are tables outside for outdoor dining, and there are also tables and booths inside the restaurant. Very disappointed! I have ordered from Bella a lot and have had both good and bad experiences, but today was by far the worst. I ordered a mushroom pizza for delivery and when I opened the box I found all of the cheese and toppings slid off and was in the corner of the box. I will scoop it up and put it back on the crust and eat it. I'm just sad. read more

They have the best pizza in Carmel! Our first time eating here was great! Customer service was on point! Parking in the back!

In two words: cold and greasy. I looked at their website, and it said online orders were closing in 13 minutes. I quickly placed an order (14" pepperoni), and it said my pizza would be ready at 8:10pm. I didn't have anything to do, so I went ahead and drove to the store. I parked outside the pizza shop, and could see everything through the front window. I was about 25 minutes early, and their order tracker said they were prepping my order. A short time later it said my order was being made. I waited in my car, watching them mop and clean up through the window. (It was close to closing time.) The tracker still said my food was being made, but I didn't see any pizzas going into the oven. I went inside at 8pm (10 minutes early) while the order tracker STILL said my order was being made... but my pizza was sitting on top of the oven! It had to be up there the entire time I waited, because I never saw them take a pizza out of the oven. The pizza that I picked up 10 minutes early and the tracker said was being made was ALREADY COLD. I took my cold pizza home. The sauce wasn't very good, the pepperoni was filled with grease, and it was just a bland, nasty meal. read more

We have been going to Bellas pizza for several years now. Tonight's experience was not good. The pizza dough was overcooked and thicker than the normal. New York style pizza and the cheese was much less than his normal. Amount. Perhaps the only thing I miss about living in Charlotte, NC was the influx of New Yorkers that had opened up pizza joints around town. If you understand that pizza is the greatest thing in life, then you also understand that New York style pizza is the greatest of the great. You can imagine my disappointment when I moved to the Indy area and found that my choices for NY-style pizza were slim to none. Luckily, I found Bella to be just a couple miles away from me and always ready to feed my addiction. The slices are large and filling, and exactly what I would expect (note: I'm a plain cheese guy, so I can't vouch for toppings at all). The breadsticks are good as well, and though I had never tried nacho cheese with breadsticks (thanks, Indiana), it turned out to be a brilliant idea. Cheese makes everything better. Drop by and pick up a slice or two for lunch, or better yet, just order an entire XL pie to take home and binge watch TV (I work out too, I promise). read more

Very disappointed!!! I haven't been here in a couple of years but it was good when I did! Today we ordered a x-large cheese, x-large pepperoni, order of bread sticks, and small salad. Both pizzas were flavorless and on the verge of disgusting, the bread sticks were stale, and while the salad was okay they didn't include the dressing that I had to pay extra for because apparently the salad at least online comes without dressing that is free! Great job Bella!!! Will never be back until you get your act together! Better use of my money elsewhere considering it cost about $60 for food that was worthless! read more

VerdicTL;DR: I think I understand now. I still want to like it more than I do though. After I posted my initial review of Bella Pizzeria, the manager of the place reached out to me with two suggestions: (1) try a whole pie, and (2) have it "well done". He added that not only is "well done" to only way he has his pizza, it was also the only way the they cooked their pizzas when they first opened a decade ago. Apparently they got complaints of burntness over time, which only disappeared after they reduced their cook times. This makes a lot of sense -- a lot of unfortunate sense. Bazbeaux has a similarly underdone crust, as does Pizza King, amongst others. In the same way that ethnic cuisines have had to be highly modified (usually with tons of unnecessary sugar) in order to fit the stereotypical American palate, Bella has deliberately undercooked their crusts to suit the tastes of its clientele. I can't fault them for it, but it just doesn't feel right -- a New York style pizza should hold true, after all, to what a New York style pizza is supposed to be. So anyway, I had a plain cheese pizza, "well done". It is a good deal better than the soggy, undercooked single slices for the reasons explained above. Also, the crust isn't "well done" in the New York understanding -- no char on the crust (even on the underside), no slight burning of the top layer of cheese. It's just a New York style pie cooked to standard New York specifications. If you're going to have pizza here, do yourselves a flavor and have it this way. Underfortunately, the sauce and the cheese are still nondescript, and even with a proper cook this isn't the world's most spectacular crust. In closing, I am upgrading Bella from a "don't eat there" to a "decent but only when the pizza is cooked 'well done'". I also want to thank the manager of Bella for his attentive and friendly conversation throughout this process. read more

What makes Bella Pizzeria unique: you can roll in here at any time of the day and grab just one slice or a few breadsticks. The slices are on display and ready to be snagged. You don't have to wait, so this place is perfect for when you're in a rush or on your lunch break. It's located in Clay Terrace and there are limited parking spaces out front. Okay, a few confessions. 1. Too many stock photos on Yelp scares me away from a business (I want to see customer pics!). 2. Once I have a bad experience at a place, it's unlikely I return. With that being said, I went back to Bella after having a mediocre experience the first time. Went with some coworkers for lunch and got a slice of pizza with two breadsticks. Side note: you can get two different types of breadsticks. Overall, I was impressed! Although flimsy (grab a fork and knife), the pizza was good! I personally like the Margherita (cheese, basil, tomatoes). There are a variety of pre-made options to choose from & they offer meal deals, although I generally just get a slice and go. The service is fast. There's a decent amount of seating indoors with 2 tables outdoors - but there is plenty of other outdoor seating at Clay Terrace to use, too! read more

However, it's pre made and then rewarmed in order to make it fast, hence four stars. I like the Stromboli and the stuffed slice the best. I prefer that they load the sauce right onto the goods, but they always look at me like I'm nuts when I ask for this. The pepperoni stuffed breadsticks with cheese sauce are also quite good. I'm not a fan of fast food type pizza, but there's something about this pizza that I really like. It's in no way fancy, gourmet pizza. It reminds me of good old New York pizza. We like thin, crunchy, well done crust which they do great. We've eaten it there and had it delivered to our house and I like it much better when we eat it there. When we had it delivered it wasn't quite as crisp and slightly greasy. I also love that you can stop in and buy it by the slice to cure a quick craving! LUNCH SPECIALS (they technically might be all day specials but I've only gone for lunch)! Listen, this will not be the best Pizza you eat in 2018. I don't even think the name "Bella", meaning beautiful in Italian, is 100% accurate. However, it is a Bella deal for a slice of pizza, some breadsticks and a drink (like $8). I go for the all meat slice because when in doubt, add more pig products. I add the pepperoni breadsticks because again, more pig. I get a Diet Coke because balance is important. I'm unwilling to say it's the freshest, but after a zap in the oven, it's good! It's Pizza by the slice which doesn't occur in Carmel so they have that niche. Oh, and they have nacho cheese.
