It's one thing to make a mistake on the order. The server misunderstood what my daughter ordered after her first choice was not available anymore. So they sent out the wrong dish, carnitas plate rather than carnitas chimichanga. That's fine. They said it would take several minutes to warm the fryer back up to create her chimichanga, which was also fine. It was 9:40. The web said they closed at 10:30, plenty of time to finish eating. The restaurant was half full still. She got her order, and it looked good. Then, 5 minutes to ten pm they started to crank up the volume on the music. We were still eating along with two other families. My daughter had just gotten her food so she was not even partially done. A couple minutes later they cranked the music LOUDER and one family left early. Still eating, but now wanting to go boxes, no one came to check on us even though her plate was still mostly full. Mine was half done and my husband was done. I had to ask my husband to grab the to go boxes, while they cranked UP THE MUSIC AGAIN TO THE POINT MY DAUGHTER COVERED HER EARS and since we could not longer hear each other we had to yell that we were leaving. I could see the employees snickering to each other. I have never experienced such rude behavior. One couple remained as we left and I asked for the receipt but only got handed the credit card slip. Since The music was SO LOUD I couldn't concentrate enough to read it, notice and ask again in Spanish for the detailed slip. The food was average at best and overpriced for the experience we tolerated. I'm usually a generous tipper and intended to leave 30% because they had to restart the fryer. Because of the intentional BLASTING of the music and the obvious laughter at driving out what appeared to be gringos, this white looking Latin American left one dollar in the "cooks tips" jar only because they made the extra effort to restart the fryer. I'm giving this place three stars not because of what I ate but because of the service. We were on our way back from San Francisco and decided to stop here for some tacos. For one the tacos were bomb. Meat was tender and came with grilled onion on the side which is a huge plus for me. The quesadilla was amazing as well. The enchiladas and rice was okay nothing special. But the service was pretty awkward. I mean as a Mexican walking into a Mexican food place and feeing unwelcome was weird to me. The waiter was awkward and at the end of taking our order she said "to go right." Like uhm no for here her whole demeanor was just kinda weird i don't know if I'm reading to much into it but I felt uncomfortable there. But great tacos though. Lol read more

Just left and I honestly CAN NOT believe that on a day like today of 107 degree weather they don't have the AC on, not for the customers but for the ladies working the grill. When I asked the person that seemed to be in charged why the AC wasn't on he said "they have a fan" I should have taken a picture of the fan he was referring to. Food was pretty good, but service laxed a bit and they forgot 9 of my tacos for my to go order. I mean ok if you forget 1 or 2, it still sucks but how are you gonna forget 9 of my tacos. I had to drive all the way back and they did not even offer an apology or anything. They seemed irritated that I came to the front of the line vs. waiting in the long line just to ask for the food they forgot to put in my bag. I doubt I will try this place again, especially with all the other mexican joints in the city. Sometimes authentic flavors do not a great food experience make. Such is the case with Taqueria Jarritos. They seem to know exactly what they're doing, yet the food isn't anything to write home about. It'll certainly do in a pinch, but this is your standard, run-of-the-mill taqueria. They serve up a pretty tasty horchata, and the chips are amazing (you can tell they're made in house), BUT I didn't care for their salsa. The food itself wasn't very memorable (both the chicken and cheese enchiladas were complete failures, BUT the asada taco was really solid) and it took a long time to get fed in a pretty barren restaurant. Then again, I live 10 minutes from the Mission in San Francisco where taquerias don't survive unless they're top-notch so I may be more picky about my Mexican fare than others.... On a good note, the folks working here are really nice, so I say give Jarritos a try at least once. read more

We were looking for a place to eat one evening after realizing that so many other spots were filled, so we decided to give this place a try as we are new to Fairfield and live right around the corner. So, first of all... they don't have their liquor license, so no michelada for me, no Modelo for my BF. Whatever, so we order.. I get my usual at every Mexican restaurant, a coctel de camaron. My boyfriend orders a al pastor burrito and tostada de ceviche. My daughter gets a plate of rice and beans. The cocktail was... weird? it was FILLED with tomatoes. The flavor was strange, too. I had to add plenty of tapatio and ketchup and lemon to make it good. It does have large shrimp in it, which is good. My boyfriends burrito was big, but he said was okay, nothing special. His tostada de ceviche was okay, also. The thing that bugged me was that the tostada came out in a paper plate. That is such a pet peeve of mine! It just made the whole establishment real cheap feeling. They had some guy in the back playing loud ass rap, which is cool, but we're in a mexican restaurant, soooo? Play some cumbias or banda? Favorite taqueria in this part of Fairfield.. food is always good, never had any problems with ordering! The staff are always attentive & best part is you can watch the cooks. The people that come in can look ghetto but I wouldn't let that stop me from coming in late night on a taco run! The parking structure is weird, plus if you don't find any in the front you have to park on the side where it looks pretty scary at night. I have been here before and it has good food but they have this lady that has taken orders a few times I have gone and it seems to me she doesn't know the menu or she jus simply don't have a care. On top of that seems to be having a bad day and takes it out on people. I had asked for a plate on the menu carne asada wit rice and beans and she kept trying to give me another plate Carne asada fries didn't even asked for till I kinda raised my voice at her to correct my order. So she finally she got it right.. I wasn't trying to b mean yell but I dnt want to have to go all the way back to the restaurant to tell them they fucked up and wait for them to cook the correct order. well they ended up giving me both things and the carne asada fries didn't even have carne and paid for it so I got to work by the way it's like 15mins drive and I only have 30mins of lunch... that's jus taking time from people that go there for lunch to have to pay for something that's not wat they want to eat. But have to cuz lunch is over, get aback to work. read more

UPDATE: So today 4/4/19 it was international burrito day so I came here for a burrito with my daughter brother in law and sister and omg the burritos are so good!!! Yum! I thought I'd try a cabeza taco today and it's still horrible ! Too many fat pieces . 1st time I actually ate in. They took about 5 min to hand us the menus. No one ever checked up on us the whole 40 minutes we were there. I had to get up and ask for Togo boxes and put up front. I always tip and my tipping depends on food & service. The server was so distracted we had to repeat ourselves several times because he just could not understand or hear us. He repeated our order back correctly but still did not bring out an item. And made a mistake on most of the rest. He told me that the menudo had hominy, yet it did not. Then charged us for a $13 menu item we asked for al la carte for my 5 year old, and told me that they wouldn't change the price for us because "that's what you got". I wanted to eat in and was put at a table and "forgotten" about. I was never even served water with my nasty food.
