From the outside it looks like a Chinese take out restaurant, but from the inside it feels like a trendy big city local sushi joint. Its not big, and the entire restaurant is just one big rectangle. You could go here on a nice date, with a few friends, or just grab some sushi for lunch. It has great versatility and a cool ambiance. I tried many things when I was here...I won't review all of them but just a few that stood out. We started with the thai calamari and it was just OK. I liked the calamari itself - it was cooked well and a thin dredge on the outside. But it lacked flavor, on the calamari (especially for being designated "thai") and also in the dipping sauce. For dinner I tried the Dragon and Phoenix. The size of the shrimp for $15 was outstanding. Great presentation and not only for this dish but for every dish. The orange chicken that accompanied the shrimp was probably the best I've ever had. It had great flavor, but not overpowering orange, and great fresh chicken texture. It was wonderful. They also had a special that night which was the walnut shrimp dish. It was extremely good, the caramelized walnuts paired with the shrimp sauce really was special. If they have that on special, I highly recommend trying it. Lastly, the Jasmine Special fried rice might have been the best thing I tried. A big mound of tasty rice with chicken, shrimp and cilantro (which is what made it great I think). It was so tasty...and i suggest ordering this for the table instead of the basic rice that comes with your meal. Amazing. The cocktails were unique and will crafted here as well. They have a drink that serves 4 (yes, i got it by myself) which was a great value and really tasty. It has awesome presentation and it tasted like a tropical drink i would have on the beach. Lastly, I do have to mention the service. It was quite slow and our server was not quite up to speed on many of the menu items. Fortunately, it didn't bother us at the time, but I could see this being a problem if it was a regular thing. I did try some sushi, but I don't think its fair for me to review it. Absolutely fantastic for lunch. Jazz playing and the lunch menu is awesome! Sushi for $9? It is unbelievable. This place is an absolute gem to have in Canton! Service can be a bit slow for lunch but other than that this place is awesome. Me and my coworker frequent Jasmine for lunch. They have boxes or sushi mainly on the lunch menu. Two rolls for $8 or three for $11. Best deal. Plus it is all made while you wait so it is very fresh. Easily the best sushi in Canton. The service is good and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The waitresses are a bit difficult to understand sometimes but you can get your message across. Gonna put this out there right now - if you gave Jasmine anything less than 5 stars you have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry, but you don't. Do I sound biased? They have excellent food, why wouldn't I be? I'm not gonna be biased towards crap. Anyhow, amazing menu, atmosphere, staff, sushi, entrees, even their dishes are pretty sweet. There is nice chill kinda asian house always going (there is some lounge-chill version of the theme song from Spirited Away that comes on sometimes, it's asome), and the staff will seriously go out of their way to accommodate you. I was there with a friend once who wanted some kind of sauce but didn't know the name and they brought her out every single kind they had until she found it. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive either. It's not cheap because their sushi is fresh as fu. Freshest in northeast Ohio. It's not instant because sushi isn't supposed to be. They always go out of their way to apologize regardless, but no one should expect to get sushi instantly. The sashimi is pretty well priced, and the lunch specials are pretty b.a. Think you can't get quality sushi in Canton, OH? Think again my friend! Jasmine's is the real deal. Why would I be in Canton in the first place you ask? For those of you gridiron die hards like me, you know the Pro Football Hall of Fame resides in this non-descript town about an hour south of Cleveland. Not a whole lot to do in Canton besides the HOF and I figured dining options would be limited. But, following the recommendations of a few other Yelpers we decided to give Jasmine's a tryout. She not only made our team but broke into the starting lineup. Don't let the standard strip mall locale fool you, Jasmine's is home to creative sushi, current wines and beers and a wide variety of traditional Asian fare served in a pleasant environment inviting for both a casual night out or a romantic dinner. We started with a tuna tartare and a really creative battered and fried whitefish and crab mixture that had a spicy kick right between the uprights! I then called an on-sides kick by choosing a couple of hand rolls rather than the traditional maki, including a spider roll and a spicy yellow tail roll. Both were packed and rolled with authority (I like my sushi rolled as tight as a Dan Marino spiral) and definitely scored a touchdown on my board. They were so good we called for an instant replay when my companion ordered another one. In the second half we ordered a couple of their specialty maki rolls that were creatively wrapped in colorful rice paper rather than the traditional seaweed. Fresh fish, great drinks and friendly service...Jasmines is an All Pro in my book on par with any sushi restaurant I've been to in my hometown Chicago. Good game Jasmine's! read more

I agree with the other reviewers, that food can be a bit slow especially when ordering sushi. However, our waiter was very attentive and the service was fine. One of the things my wife and I miss about living in Ohio is sushi. Jasmine is the most authentic and tastiest sushi I have found in this area. There are also a lot of very tasty Chinese and Korean dishes. I've only tried one Chinese dish and it was delicious and authentic (I am of Chinese descent). I can speak about the wait as my wife and I purposely go early to avoid having to wait, so at 5 o'clock we were seated and served immediately. They are still relatively new, so I'm sure the service and speed will only get better with time. We will definitely go back. read more

Absolutely delicious Asian Fusion! I highly recommend adding Sushi to your meal, if not make it the meal. My favorite is Shrimp Tempura roll accompanied by the Avocado Salad. Service is always fantastic as well. For me, I LOVE that this restaurant is located on 30th street within city limits. Went to Jasmine's on a Saturday night with another couple. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation, but they do not accept reservations for parties of four or less. When we arrived we ended up having to wait over 45 minutes before we got a table. Overall service was good, you could tell they were still working out some kinks in their work flow and knowledge of the menu. Luckily the other couple knew they did not have a liquor license and brought a bottle of wine. At first I thought it was odd, but actually as I looked around, I think the customers actually enjoyed being able to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy while eating dinner. My wife and I ordered a couple sushi rolls (vegetable and cucumber), which did not come at the same time? The vegetable roll ended up coming out with our dinner which we would have rather not had at that point. For dinner we both had the Hibachi Vegetable which had a great presentation and was quite good. Overall, we had a good experience and both us and the other couple agreed that we would definitely visit Jasmine's again soon (with at least another person so that we could make a reservation!) read more

Look - it's Canton. I was expecting, at best, sushi that tasted slightly better than what I found at a grocery store. The cheesy font used in the sign and the location in a strip mall definitely did not increase my expectations. I was completely wrong. This place is AMAZING. The prices are beyond reasonable ($12 for three rolls, miso soup, and a small salad? Yes PLEASE!), and the sushi is both authentic and delicious. No, they don't have novelty rolls, but what they do have are amazing classic rolls. They are admittedly on the small side compared to most sushi places in the US, but again - $12 for three! I highly recommend their spicy tuna roll. The salad is nothing to write home about, but the dressing is pretty darn good. Miso soup is above average - and both come served within minutes of your order. The staff is very friendly, and I only experienced one time where I was waiting around for a while before anyone spoke to me. Anyway. Highly highly HIGHLY recommended. Well done Jasmine. read more

My sister and I were looking for some good food in Canton, so of course we checked out Yelp! So glad we did. Jasmine is an absolute find. Smaller place in a strip type mall but that has nothing to do with the experience. After entering, you are transported...mostly due to the great carpet ( we had dinner with the gentleman who did the floors and his lovely wife, and his friend and...well you get the idea). Casual elegence all around. They were busy, with good reason, so we chose to eat at the bar, a fabulous idea it turns out. Bud and Adam made us feel right at home even though we were not drinking. We had edemame and asian chicken lettuce wraps for appetizer, both fabulous. Had the tiger roll and miso salmon entree. The tiger roll was wrapped in a soy paper and fresh tender lobster inside, so good! The miso rubbed salmon was fabulous but the presentation stole the show. I imagine "Asian Fusion" to be a combination of Asian cuisines - like a Thai lemongrass sushi roll; this is not that. Instead, it's a menu with Thai, Chinese, and Japanese dishes on it, so you can dine with someone who wants Chinese when you're in the mood for pad thai. I had the sashimi regular, and my husband had the tuna and mango salad: all of the fish was fresh and beautifully plated. My husband's chicken coconut soup was rich and aromatic, and the wasabi and blue cheese olive in his bloody mary had a very strong flavor. The service was good, and the ambiance was nice. Either semi-nice or casual clothes were fine, and everyone from a large family group to couples on dates were there. We would return! read more

They were very good. They reminded me of the pot stickers served at The Cheesecake Factory. We got the Sushi for 2. It was a very good presentation. The food was good (what we liked). I found out that I don't like some sushi. I had tasted rolls many times but never just raw fish and rice. If I am in the area again I would definitely go back. read more

If you're looking for a sushi bar experience this is not the place to go. The sushi bar has about eight seats they are very tall and you're not permitted to order directly from the sushi chef. The sushi was pretty good though the pieces are a bit on the small side. The prices are reasonable especially given the size of the pieces. We will probably go back but we will not be sitting at sushi bar. The server was fairly attentive and very personable though I believe the sushi bar is not anyone's normal assignment. I've given this place three tries, and I'm done. The first time I dined in and it was alright -- nothing to write home about. The service was OK, the sushi was good, but I wasn't wowed. The second time I called ahead to pick up the lunch special for two rolls & soup/salad. I called right when they opened to place my order and told them specifically I'd be there in about 25 minutes. You'd think that would be plenty of time to make two sushi rolls and a small salad, but apparently not. When I got there, it wasn't ready. I proceeded to wait for an additional 25 minutes because, as the hostess told me, they had gotten a big pick-up order the night before that they still weren't done making. I finally did receive my order, but it was wrong -- I ordered shrimp tempura, which she verified on the phone with me, and ended up with salmon tempura. It was pretty good, but not what I ordered. At this point I'd spent almost my entire lunch hour just picking up my order, so I didn't have time to go back and get the correct item. This last time was much the same as the second time. I didn't call ahead and ended up with a shorter wait, but not by much -- about 20 minutes, despite the fact that I was the only person there when I placed the order. A dine-in group came in just after me, and they were served promptly and had salads by the time I left. It's an OK place if you have unlimited time. read more

We have been to Jasmine Asian Bistro a number of times, but mainly gotten carryout. This has been one of our favorite Canton restaurants for some time. The meal starts with the hot and sour soup, an avocado salad and either walnut shrimp or mango-tango. All are very tasty and each is unique, well prepared and a generous portion. Then at 24 min my money was taken. I finally asked how much long and was told "I don't know" Utterly ridiculous to wait this long for a to go order on a random Tuesday. **update** After waiting an hour and 20min I asked for my money back and we left without food. While waiting I watched a woman go to the bar to retrieve her own drink. Overheard their table guests talking about how they knew it was their martini that had been left sitting at the bar and never delivered. I also watched a man who was there prior to my arrival walk over to the male manager and ask if he could check on his to go order and the manager told him "were busy." Never looked up or offered to check on it. Don't be fooled by the strip mall! Jasmine is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in the Canton area. In my many visits I (and my friends who join me) have never been disappointed with the service or the food. I will admit, I'm not a sushi connoisseur, but my friends are and are always pleased and very excited when I suggest we head to Jasmine for lunch or dinner. There is a wide variety of food on the menu, and I really enjoy the interesting vegetarian sushi options. The peanut avocado roll is not to be missed! I cannot eat miso soup anywhere else now that I've had Jasmine's, though I will admit, sometimes it can be mostly broth. I always forget to ask them to make sure I get more of the good stuff in my soup. I'm sure they would do so if I ask-- the service is great! The atmosphere is what I would describe as upscale casual. There are white tablecloths on the tables, but they do have booths too. The decor is very simple and not overdone with tacky try-hard asian decor. It is also worth noting that the owner of the restaurant is frequently there and is very involved with the running of the front and back, from what I can tell. The family who owns the restaurant is Asian, though I'm not sure which country they hail from. I think it's worth noting, though, because this place is the real deal! read more

A friend and I visited for lunch on a weekday, arriving just as the restaurant opened. From the "business box" menu I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. My friend ordered Lo mein without meat. My meal was served in a divided box: egg roll in one compartment, dipping sauce in another, salad in another, peeled orange in one, and chicken tenders in the largest. I'd expected the chicken to be *in* the sauce. But the presentation was clever. There was nothing extraordinary about either meal. The hot dishes were tepid when served and cold before we finished eating. On the positive side, our waiter and his "shadow", a waitress-in-training," were personable and attentive. We will return, most likely for dinner, when we expect more effort will be put into serving food hot and with more than "fast food" quality. read more

Friend took me there after visiting Malone University. I usually have low expectations for strip mall Asian but this experience would have exceeded high expectations. I ordered a lunch special which was $10 and completely enjoyed it. Came with a nice eggroll that may have been handmade it was so good. The main course was great and the orange half was a nice touch. I didn't try the sushi but I will next time. Very nice inside, looked like a good lunch crowd, and the staff was excellent.
