This small hidden family restaurant has a lot of charm! We came in around noon and were seated immediately. Our server was very kind and was making conversation with everybody. She seemed to try to connect with everyone and was happy to explain any menu questions. The food came out quickly and was aesthetically pleasing and in generous portions. I live in Boston and prior to that I lived in Seattle and Portland, OR. Cost of living has been high and rising. It was a real treat to come to this place for lunch, greeted warmly by staff who recognize my aunt as a regular, and get a sashimi lunch special with miso soup and a small bowl of fried rice for $12.95!!! In Boston that would get you a stale California roll from the grocery store. I'm not kidding. The sashimi was generous and fresh. Land and Sea a great little Asian restaurant. First visit. I did not know what to make of it by its name, so non descriptive (I don't like the name.) Once you enter, very clean (new) and small. Seated quickly and the server came and gave us our menus. Efficient and friendly. The decor was more clean Japanese Sushi bar, not too busy. Just enough to say, "we are an Asian Restaurant ". The Restoom was clean. The menu had everything from Asia, I mean everything. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, Vietnamese, Thai, even Bubble tea. (Leaning more towards Japanese Sushi.) At first I was concerned as to how authentic the taste would be to each dishes. I was concerned as to how this restaurant will be able to keep the original flavors of such different tastes. I ordered a Ika-Kara-Age (Fried squid) as an appetizer. Laksa and Tonkatsu Ramen as the main meals. Food came out extremely fast and hot. The fried squid had a curry flavor, not disappointed (I know this is a double negative). I was confused as to why the curry flavor. The name of the dish on the menu was definitely Japanese. Excellent taste, good portion and good presentation. If I had a critique, I would like it a little more breading on the squid (very difficult technique to master). The Laksa and Ramen were dead on. Both had its unique flavors. NO WEIRD flavors like in most Ramen places I have visited before. Even Laksa was dead on!!! A very difficult dish to find outside of Singapore, unheard of here in Northeast Ohio let alone in most of the United States. The portions were good, the toppings were good and the prices were more than fair. (A bowl of noodles should not be over $20! ... it's noodles!!! You know, that long thin strands made with flour, water and pinch of salt!!! The cheap dish that everyone went to not so long ago everywhere in the world!!!) This restaurant is a hidden little gem . First time going, ordered the Hibachi (1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak) for takeout. Salad was good but they were a little skimpy on the ginger dressing, which was very good. Meat was under seasoned, but was fresh and plentiful. A little salt would go a long way and really bring out the flavor of the quality meat. The interior was new and clean, staff was friendly. They really need to get a full menu up on their website, I uploaded it here for reference. I would say I was underwhelmed for my first visit, but would definitely give them a second try.
