We had a long day and were looking for some late night food. We saw jasmine cafe was open until 10pm so we decided to stop by. This place was a huge disappointment. We should have stuck to eating at home or in n out. It was completely dead but they are a new restaurant and it is a bit late. There was only one person working and she was not friendly at all. She was not attentive or eager for our business. We felt like if we asked questions, she would bite our heads off. For a new business, with little to no business and struggling to survive, you would think they would try a little harder. Maybe the service isn't so great, but the food isn't great either! Our food was made to order so it did take a bit of time, about 10-15 minutes. Not a big deal. Our food wasn't piping hot though which is weird because we saw her cooking our food! The falafels were small and a little burnt. There wasn't much flavor and it wasn't served with any tahini sauce. Fail. Our kefta entree had two decently sized skewers. So far so good on the portion side but they were plain. It lacked spices and a good char. On the plus side, it had good beef flavor. It didn't taste like it was full of filler. The rice pilaf was on the wet side. Hummus portion was small and bland. It did not have an earthy garbanzo flavor. Salad was plain and didn't have a little bit of sour to give it that pizazz. As she served us our food, she was very offputting and not grateful for our business at all. And she only gave us one set of utensils for 2 people...... We had two plates in front of us and 2 people here. The restaurant had a weird vibe and, overall, an uncomfortable feeling. All these 5 star reviews with excellent and great customer service are a joke! Unless there are other employees that work here that we didn't encounter, it's a complete lie. Restrooms need a key and are for customer use only. Understandable since they are next to the movie theater and they get a lot of people who are just hanging out or walking by and need to use the bathroom. Sorry, not coming back. Ever. This place is disgusting. I am middle eastern so I can tell the taste, it's very low quality for the price. The mutabel isn't mutabel it taste like it's out of a can, can't even taste the egg plant. The falafel sandwich is disgusting. The bread is stale. The Turkish Coffee is watered down, Turkish coffee is very strong. They have horrible customer service. Ok. One of the worst experiences ever. I had high hopes for a new local kebob place. But so disappointed. You would think coming to a restaurant at 6pm on a Sunday food would be quick. Not the case here. They apparently ran out of cooked rice so they had to make more. Ok fine but we where not informed. So what 20 min to make more rice Ok. But after the rice was complete they didn't even start to cook the other parts of the meal. Well the rice took 35 min. I ordered fries I litterly watch them sit in the fry basket for 30 min. After they where complete. So 1 hour later we got our food. Mushy rice and cold fries. If I could have walked out earlier I would have. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to wait till the food came out. I recommend don't waste your time like I did.
