I feel like this place got bought out or something. Ordered recently and menu was very similar if not exactly the same as many other thai restaurant menus in town that go by variety of names but are owned by same owner (thaitanium). Quantities are good sixe but quality and menu nuance are certainly lacking but I give it to these business owners as they definitely have a bustling business gearing thai food towards the American palates. Not only was one of their better items on the menu removed (Pad Egg Noodles), the meal ordered for takeout in lieu of that menu item by me (Pad Thai) on the second occasion was underwhelming. Very few bean sprouts in it; the beef was "leathery" and not flavorful; and the noodles were "congealed". New cook/chef? The food tastes "heavy" and not fresh. Different cooking oil or seasoning being used? Whatever the problem, I cannot fathom recommending this restaurant to anyone in the future. It was my last visit there to be sure. read more

I have been coming here for years and last night was the first time since early last year. I knew something was different with the pad Thai. I see they are under new ownership and I said that last night that I thought they might be because I didn't recognize anyone. The pad Thai is now too sweet. I couldn't eat it. The vibes in this restaurant are great- it is so relaxing; filled with plants and greenery and with very chill music playing. The service was very fast and friendly. This is one of the better Thai restaurants in the metro area. The service was welcoming and efficient in getting the food out, clearing away dishes, and bringing the check. The portion for the main entree was perhaps larger than the better places I've been on the south side, but here, it only comes with a choice of soup, salad, OR spring roll; Not all three like some places, or at least two. I went with my standard Pad See-Eiw (spelled differently at about every place I go!) which only comes with chicken (at least at lunch). The portion filled the plate and had large flat noodles, though they didn't look the same shape as the noodles I've had elsewhere. They come in a sweet Thai soy sauce with broccoli (thoroughly cooked and bite sized florets), small bits of cabbage and egg. I was able to select the heat level for spiciness and medium seemed to be a great choice for added flavor without making the meal uncomfortable. I could definitely feel the tingle from the spice, but the hot tea I ordered did a good job of resetting my palate. The flavor was wonderful! I would gladly recommend this dish. The chicken was moist and sliced into bite sized pieces that was nicely balanced with the rest of the dish. I ordered the soup as my side and it was a mild broth filled with diced vegetables that tended to pool at the bottom. The flavor was pleasant, with more intensity than a Miso, but less than a Thom Yum. Think vegetable soup to get an idea. Overall, a very enjoyable experience with good service and flavor. The spiciness of the food can be ordered using the following spicy scale: mild, medium, medium-hot, hot, and Thai hot. You may also request your meal be prepared vegetarian only. For our late lunch (made it in just after the rush hour, but before mid-day closing!) I had the Pad Thai with Pork (spiciness: medium) - made of stir-fried rice noodles with pork, tofu, eggs, ground peanuts, green onions, and bean sprouts in light sweet and sour tamarind sauce, along with a side Spring Roll and Iced Tea. My wife and son both ordered the Pad See-Eiw with Pork (spiciness: medium) - made of stir-fried flat noodles with pork, eggs, broccoli, and cabbage in a Thai sweet soy sauce, along with a side Soup and she had a glass of water while our son opted for the Iced Tea. Our daughter ordered the Pad Kee-Maow (a.k.a. Drunken Noodles) with Beef (spiciness: medium) - a mixture of flat noodles, beef, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, onions, basil leaves, bell peppers, water chestnuts, and mushrooms, along with a side Soup and Hot Tea. I didn't order any this time, but I often order a cold glass of delicious Thai Sweet Iced Tea featuring sweet cream. It's very tasty, but since I'm lactose-intolerant, I have to pick and chose my "battles" so to speak! lol So, no tummy ache today! lol As I mentioned at the start, this is a favorite stop for Thai food and it's not just for the tasty entrees, but also the friendly staff, good portions served for a moderate price. I'm hoping we just went on a bad night.... We decided to dine in on a Saturday. We were seated quickly but had a few issues right off the bat: 1) the liquor license hadn't been renewed so my boyfriend couldn't order a beer (but there was plenty of alcohol on the menu and beer posters on the walls, wine bottles, etc.) 2) they were out of an appetizer we wanted to try. But we are flexible people so we adapted quickly. While sitting I was watching the takeout groups come in and out. Sadly, I watched a poor man have to wait for an additional half hour while they remade his order - the employee gave an order for "Joe" to a "Joel" and didn't double check the name ‍. You could tell they were very backed up in the kitchen and understaffed. Lastly, I was very confused when I went to pay because they brought me three checks: the itemized one, a customer copy, and a merchant copy....but I hadn't given anyone my card yet. I was worried that someone accidentally was charged for my order. Turns out that's how they have to print receipts because their card reader was broken and were using a mobile card reading device, but very confusing at first as it appeared i had already paid but knew I had not. The Thai pepper steak is my favorite dish from here, spicy tender beef and lots of fresh veggies and that sauce is delicious! The money bags appetizer has me coming back to this place and it might be one of my all time favorite appetizers ever! This is a gem of a restaurant, where Lannin runs the show. The full menu is a mix of Pan Asian Thai dishes... the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. I started with soup, from Yelper recommendation which was spot on. The TOM KHA GAI was coconut based soup with mushrooms and cilantro accented soup. There was hint of licorice in this simmered rich full bodied broth. I followed this with PAD KAR PROW. The dish is full of traditional fresh green beans with blackened sear, and accompanied with onion, bell peppers and meat of choice. I went with beef, and this couples with house made oyster spicy sauce was great. Rice side dish was sticky enough for stix but not wet. Really fresh, and delicious... the Tea was brewed strong as coffee and was also welcomed on an unseasonably cold evening. We will return. read more

It's not fusion, not Asian, it's a Thai menu. There's real crab in the crab rangoons. Portion sizes are great. Kudos to the chefs and the wait staff for handling our odd party very well, under duress. Omnivores through vegans can be happy. Californians with attitude will be happily surprised. I love Thai because of the ease of making dishes vegan. I always feel that when I ask for the dish to be prepared vegan that the staff truly understand. I have been in multiple times and I either get the drunken noodles or the eggplant and both are amazing! The veggies are always fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce isn't overly sweet and they give you the perfect amount of heat! Meat, seafood, or vegetarian this place has it going on! I ordered Cashew with beef and it arrived with dry "grey meat" and my husband had ordered Peppered Steak which had the same dry, grey meat and no peppers at all, just onions and carrots. So of course I call the restaurant (since there was NO problem on Door Dash's end) and asked to speak to a manager. The lady on the other end said they would not be refunding my money today because there is no manager there so I'd have to wait until tomorrow. This was a $50.83 order that I had waited an hour for and she told me to take it up with Door Dash. Really? They didn't serve me food that Was inedible so why is it their fault? Our new go-to Thai place. We were loyal Thai Chan customers before they closed and reopened as Thai O'Cha...it's just not the same now. So we set out on a mission to find a new great Thai restaurant in the area, and this is it. We started off with the pork wonton appetizer and BOY! Those things were GREAT! Honestly I could have eaten like 12. Like wow. So delicious. The wonton wasn't too thick and it was stuffed to the brim with juicy pork. So good. My mom and I split pork pad thai and yellow curry chicken. Both were excellent. Good flavor on the pad thai, might try chicken instead next time but definitely a winner. The curry was pretty good too (the potatoes were the icing on the cake). My dad had the pad eggplant and it was sooooooo gooooooood. If you have had and liked Asian eggplant dishes before, or even if you haven't, I strongly recommend it. There are so many things on the menu we want to try...I'm sure we'll be back soon even though it's a little far from home. They have my favorite soup that Thai Chan had that Thai O'Cha did away with. They also have larb, a Lao/northeastern Thai dish I have had once before and loved. Can't wait to return! UPDATE: Larb and Thai omelet both worthy of 5 stars.
