I've been to Jason's Deli before, but it had been a while. I was over in Baytown, so I decided to stop in. There's plenty of parking since it's located in a large shopping center. The staff were friendly, and there was plenty of seating inside. I went with the Manager's Special, which includes a half sandwich, a soup, and chips, and it's around $12-$14. One nice perk at Jason's Deli is the free soft-serve ice cream. They have cones and offer vanilla, chocolate, and a vanilla-chocolate swirl. This time, though, the ice cream was a bit icy and watery. Usually it's smooth and creamy, so that was a little disappointing--but it's free, and I still appreciate that they offer it. For my soup, I chose the seafood gumbo. It had six or seven shrimp in it, which really surprised me, and it was very flavorful. Overall, if you like sandwiches, soups, salads, or healthier options, Jason's Deli is a solid choice, and I'd recommend this location. read more

It's been a minute since I've been to Jason's Deli, especially with so many other restaurant options around these days. While visiting friends in Baytown and doing some Christmas Day shopping, we spotted this location and thought, why not give it a try? I thought of their oaded potatoes, but ended up going with the half sandwich, half soup combo instead. I chose the chipotle avocado chicken sandwich and the chicken pot pie soup. Service was surprisingly fast despite it being around lunchtime, there was only one other table near us. Once we placed our order, the food arrived in under five minutes. The sandwich tasted good, but it was a bit light on protein. I wish they had added a couple more pieces of chicken. The chicken pot pie soup, on the other hand, was tasty and very thick--almost gravy-like in consistency. They also offer free ice cream, which is a nice perk, though it was a little icy for my liking. Still, it's a fun touch. Overall, the experience was solid with quick service and friendly staff. They did ask if I had a Jason's Deli Rewards account and if I wanted to sign up, but it's not a place I visit often enough to justify it. read more

We've eaten at Jason's many times and the food is always fresh and tasty. My favorites include the chicken salad - a delight with pineapple and almonds in it - on a croissant. Another is their strawberry shortcake, two layers of pound cake covered with strawberries and whipped cream; so deelish! I went to Jason's deli ordered dinner paid for it and got an emergency phone call. A child was missing and the police had been called our family was frantic. Needless to say we did not feel the need to explain why we had to leave we just left. I called the restaurant that same evening to let them know what the situation was and asked if they would give us a credit at their store to come back at a later time. The person I spoke with was a man. I'd ask for the manager this person didn't verify their name. But they assured me that we could return and all would be well I gave my information as well as the information about the order. However today I called and attempted to use the credit explain what the situation was. Once again I spoke with the supposed managers sounded like the same gentleman to me. But he claims he would never have handled the situation that way and would have​ issued a gift card for the balance. When I explained again that we had left without asking for money back at the time and called back he claimed to not remember the interaction. And refuse to allow us the store credit as agreed. My husband has been working in Baytown for a few years now. I haven't spent much time here, but as his project winds down, I am here helping him pack up, and we are eating out a lot. I've really been looking forward to a trip to Jason's because: 1. I'm a deli girl through-and-through. I'm from Buffalo, where delis are pretty much a way of life. 2. I used to live in Baton Rouge, and Jason's was one of our staples. It's one of the few chains I've actually missed. Last night we had a chance to hit up Jason's. I was craving a crunchy salad and some hearty soup. That is _not_ what I got. Let me start at the beginning. When we first walked in, I was a little confused as to where to order. Not a big deal. I'm not a local. It's my first time here, and once you've been there once, you'll know for next time, right? But as a manager, I think I'd want to know if an intelligent person who is also very well versed at dining out came to visit my establishment for the first time and found it to be confusing where and how to order. Part of this confusion could stem from the fact that this looked NOTHING like what I expected inside. This was not the Jason's I remember. When I first walked in the door, my view was impeded by a large banner and a garbage can. Once I walked around it and could see where to go to order, I noticed a tragically small menu on the wall. The dim lighting and lack of bright colors made things feel anything but fresh. I was really hoping for a "you pick two" kind of thing like Panera does. I wanted a cup of soup and a salad. But I was told no such beast exists on the menu. However, I was able to order a salad bar and add my soup on for a couple of bucks. Unfortunately, the "unlimited trips" was completely lost on me since I only went once. NOTE: I really just wanted one trip to the salad bar, but in order to get that, I had to order it with a sandwich. The only combo options offered were sandwich & one trip to the salad bar, or soup & sandwich. (That's the Manager's Special.) My husband wanted a salad with some meat on it -- like a garden salad with grilled chicken. Nope. They don't have that. But he could get an entire chicken breast for $4 bucks and a salad bar. He also wanted a baked potato. So, originally when she rang up our order for: soup, salad bar, drink, chicken, salad bar, baked potato, drink, it was $35 bucks. So we re-evaluated and ended up with: soup, salad bar, drink, half sandwich, one trip to the salad bar, drink, for like $25. The soup came out and it was brown. I was expecting more of a yellow color, I guess. It didn't taste awful, but it was not what I was hoping for. It didn't feel hearty and there were no big, fresh chunks of celery or anything like I had dreamed of. The salad bar was okay, though, and my husband enjoyed his turkey sandwich. (He did ask for the bun to not be toasted though, and it did come out toasted.) The employee who took our order really did try to help us save some money on our order, but the big disappointment came in the fact that this Jason's offers absolutely no options for combinations. Their limited menu feels like this is supposed to be some kind of express location. I really hope that's the case, and that this is not what Jason's has become. NOTE: My husband tells me that when his office has ordered Jason's in the past, it has been really good and it seemed like they had more options. read more

So I went back. I know my bad I should have just went somewhere else. I ordered online, pick up time. 11:44am. Hospital only gives us 30 min for lunch. I sat and waited outside more than 10 minutes for a sandwich that was already done and packaged but the guy behind the at the pick up counter was not helpful and totally clueless about my sandwich being ready when I walked in and paid. I visited the Jason's Deli on Garth Road in Baytown, Texas, tonight. The restaurant was spotless, and the food was delicious. When I ordered, I noticed a sign that said the restaurant was out of pickles due to a national shortage. What a bummer! I always order extra pickle spears on the side. I told the manager I was disappointed. When the manager brought out my food, imagine my surprise when I saw a pickle on my tray. Cory, the manager, found one of the last pickles in the restaurant and gave it to me. I know it's not much, but Cory really went out of his way to make a customer happy! Thank you, Cory! Ours came with in 10/15 mins, but for fresh it's well worth the wait! My favorite dish is the Chicken Alfredo ...it's creamy , cheesy sauce and fresh broccoli leaves you feeling satisfied. For a lighter note .. The Salmon sandwich is cooked well and full of flavor , paired with fresh avocado and the bun compliments it perfectly. You can choose between 3 options for a side... This was my first experience at Jason's Deli. We were looking for a Souper Salad or something healthier for lunch instead of your typical greasy fast food. I was happy when we walked in and saw a mostly empty, clean restaurant with a huge salad bar! We ordered two salad bars with a side of grilled chicken for on top and two bowls of the beef stew. I really loved that you could pick two different kinds of lettuce. Either iceberg or spinach and it was fresh! No brown or wilting lettuce at this restaurant. I also loved that they had a ton of toppings such as (cheese, olives, bacon bits, croutons, carrots, pickles, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, etc), AND they had two kinds of pasta salad and some tasty pudding. Not bad for a salad bar! The beef stew was really good and had huge chunks of beef included that was very tender and delicious. The stew was filling all on its own and I'd love to come back and try the broccoli cheese soup! The ice cream machine was down (they offer FREE ice cream) so the manager came over and offered us huge warm cookies instead! He was very friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. We love Jason's! I first had it at the original location in Beaumont and was excited that we have one near home. Every time we've been to any Jason's, the food is always delicious. The salad bar is always fresh and a must have any time I go. I've tried most things on the menu, but I almost always get the managers special with beefeater and chicken tortilla soup! The restaurant was clean and layed out nicely with menus at the front so you can decide what you want before standing in line. Lots of choices on the wall behind the counter but the full menu Is layed out on the hand menus. They have a nice salad bar selection and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. I like the club royal turkey crossiant. All in all everything is pretty good here. The chicken noodle soup was lacking in my opinion tho. Too thick. read more

The sandwich I got was freshly made! The veggies were clean and crisp and not wilted (salad eaters know what I'm talking about). It was a perfect portion, the staff were friendly, and the place is clean. They also allowed me to bring lots of food home. That was a plus all in itself. Average chain deli with rude managers and/or owners. Stopped here a few times and ordered $18-20 worth of food each time. The manager/owners selectively greets customers and eyes others like they are going to rob the place (guess which greeting I received?) They also don't emphasize their "free ice cream" which I was under the impression was their primary customer "treat." My employer caters some of their functions through this place and I'll eat their food if/when this does occur. Love me some Jason's deli. Best salad bar in town! Always fresh & full. Great selection at a great price. You can actually buy a small take out salad for under $8 and make 2 meals out of it or share with a friend! The chicken salad has pineapple which makes it unique and yummy. Never had a bad sandwich! Wish the delivery system was better with minimum orders but understandable as they get quite busy at lunch. Love this location! The manager is awesome!
