Their salad comes in two options small and large. I ordered the large : Step one - base To choose from Spinach, Arugula, lettuce or mixed greens Step 2- toppings Chose as many any vege toppings as I wished Step 3- Protein- could choose from tofu, falafel, avacado, quinoa, or everything. Each protein comes with its own cost. Step 4- sauce A whole lot of options. Also option is to mix everything or the sauce on the side. I chose on the side. Both the persons who were attending to us were patient and helpful and made suggestions too. They carry soda and tea if you like a drink with your salad. The ambience is clean and quiet. I would have liked the tables cleaned up a bit more but there were plenty empty so it was ok. The veges were crisp and very fresh, and I would rate them 10 /10 if I could. read more

NO! I don't know what is wrong with the Seafood mix at this location but someone needs to fix it! This is the worst experience I've ever had from a Salata in/near Houston. I drive all the way from Austin to Houston some weekends just to get Salata! It's my favorite! But this location on 6/17/24 around 1:30-2pm had some BAD seafood mix! I was getting sick eating it! I bet this location isn't following the proper food safety measures to keep that seafood at the correct temperature. I knew when I walked in the place something was off. It didn't feel like all of the other Salata's I had been to in Houston. There's only one other Salata I had a bad experience at and that was in Georgia...I wish Salata would build a few places in Austin and Dallas. Especially Austin. I'd eat there everyday. I don't know what's up with the seafood mix at the Baytown location but I will never come back to that location. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. And I believe I know who knew about the seafood mix being bad because the way the person looked at me said it all...It was like the last 2-3 spoonfuls out of that batch, and she was being so stingy with that I had to pay for another. I'm not racist but there was 3 ladies. The first one (maybe Indian) was great. She's the first one I spoke with. Then my food was passed to a Caucasian lady who added my seafood mix and a few other things. There was another lady (Hispanic I believe) who had nothing to do with any of this. I mix up my salads often and below I left the ingredients in a Chinese Chicken Salad I usually get. They have fresh crisp salad and lots of topping choices to add. They also have multiple protein varieties however there isn't beef. I was told by a friend about the loyalty program. The customer service is lacking. You feel rushed to make choices and get eye rolling if you ask for extra topping. The guys doing our order could not speak English so he got all the salads wrong and when I went to correct him the lady working there translating for him was pissed off I said it was wrong and said well we will have to remake all the salads. I got a standard, regular salad. They have a ton of options, you build your own salad. If you're looking for a "menu" with pre-set salad options or ideas, this is the wrong place. You create your own as you walk down the line and see ingredients to add in. You can choose a $4 or $8 portion salad base with al the toppings your heart desires and then pay $3-5 extra to add a meat. I got the large salad and got chicken pesto on top it was amazing and I even had leftovers. Came with a choice of pita chips or a wheat roll too. I first became acquainted with Salata via their original location in the downtown tunnels, and was happy when this one opened. Not disappointed at all with this location. It's clean, and the food is fresh. They are allergy friendly in that they have peanut warnings up, and offer dairy free ingredients and salad dressings. If you are celiac, you can let them know at the first station and they will use their gluten-free method to avoid cross contamination. There are vegan protein and salad dressing options as well. One complaint I frequently hear about Salata is the price. While it's pricey, it's worth it because it's fresh, quality food. Another is that they don't put enough toppings on, and simply asking for more is acceptable because it's easier to add a little more than to take it away. In addition to salads, they also serve wraps and soups. Wraps are served with a side of pita chips, and you can get a nice multigrain roll to eat with your soup. Cookies for dessert, and drinks are more focused on iced tea and lemonades than sodas. Bottled drinks available too. read more

So far, so good. Although when we went (two days after opening) they were out of buttermilk ranch and creamy Caesar dressing. So we decided to try the spicy chipotle ranch (which they let us try with a sample spoon). If you don't like spicy food, you won't like this. They probably have every topping you could want for your salad. I was a bit disappointed that there were no garbanzo beans. They did have chickpeas, sprouts, chopped egg, avocado, radishes, bell pepper, banana peppers, black and kidney beans, green and black olives, etc. Pretty much anything you could want. They even list the calories associated with the dressings which is nice. You also have your choice of proteins which include (3-4 different kinds of chicken), salmon, shrimp, etc. Of course, these are 3$ more a scoop. So worth it! At the end you add your croutons, pita chips or a roll. (They were also out of croutons). You can also add your choice of cookie, and they only had Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Coke and Diet Coke when we went. If you're into flavored teas, they had those too! Salata is a good place to visits if you want a good salad. There is parking right I'm front of the restaurant. Good access in and out of the parking lot. The employees are always very nice. The restaurant has always been very clean. If you're not too hungry you can share a small salad, I think they are a good size. If you want to order a salad to go, ask for the salad dressing on the side. The employees will gladly put it separately, so you can savor your lunch or dinner. Look for discount coupons on the back of your local grocery store receipt. I've sampled the teas and they are pretty good as well as the salads. The wraps are very yummy and very filling. They are served with a side of pita chips for that extra crunch we need to satisfy our ears. If you try a salad one day, try a wrap another day. The meats are an extra $3-$4. Having opened this location last year, I find disappointment when my mother and I returned today. They opened at 1030 but they were not ready for business, which occurs regularly when I have been here. The romaine was all dark green which is more bitter but they attempted to pick up some lighter. When rolling wrap, a lump of the crabmeat is left behind without a thought. Lemons are NOT replaceable with limes. It's located on Garth down the street from the San Jacinto Mall( which by the way has over 50 empty store spots. I counted) It reminded me of Chipotle as far as the set up, lay out and restraurant decor. They have 2 sizes of salads( Med and large) or a wrap. You select your greens, veggies, meat, and dressings. They have a LARGE selection of veggies and other toppings. For an added nominal fee you can select up to about 6 varieties of meats such as herb chicken, herb shrimp, salmon, etc. Twelve dressings are available to select and they are not your usual dressings. I selected something balsamic with a creamy undertone. Yummy!!! Other add ons are pita bread, croutons that weren't hard and other crackers. The drinks - Peach lemonade, raspberry lemonade, etc with unlimited refills were very refreshing. Go by and try them. I heard today that Salata may be coming to SETX. Anyone have a confirm on that? Let me start my story with saying I work retail with a lot people. Earlier today a couple my coworkers came to this place planning to buy food and said they were giving free food away and Salata told them to send anyone there direction by 9pm no strings attached. I drove over there looking forward to this. When I get there people walk on me in and I talk to the first person at the counter and I asked her about the deal she said yes they were given free food away just not protein items(meat). After that one of her coworkers look to her and told her no we don't it's only a deal with coupon. So I said whatever turned and walked away before getting angry. I had the smaller bowl and it really filled me up! The soda fountain had only coke, diet coke and sprite, but there were quite a few varieties of tea available, which was nice. Overall, the salad was great and did not disappoint! The only downside, in my opinion, is the way it is priced. Depending on what add-ons you choose beyond the base price, it can add up pretty quickly. $15.00 or more for just the salad alone (not including a drink) is a bit pricey. Factor in extra if you want soup or cookies, and you can easily end up spending over $20.00 per person. For someone like me who likes to eat healthy but lives on a limited budget, treating myself to a Salata will not be a regular option, unfortunately. read more
