Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely come back. The Kickin' Kay Lynne is my favorite chicken salad flavor, and the sandwich itself was delicious. The loaded potato soup was also really good, and the cookie was a great addition to the meal. The reason for the 4 stars is that my sandwich was missing the lettuce and tomato that I ordered. I didn't realize it until I got home, so it wasn't worth driving back, but it was definitely disappointing. I also noticed the portions weren't very consistent. I placed a separate to-go order for someone I was with, and although they also added lettuce and tomato and received their sandwich correctly, their grape salad portion was noticeably larger than mine. Not sure if they started rushing but the difference was noticeable. The staff was attentive in helping to receive our online orders quickly. I visited this location the day before Mother's Day weekend and I'm glad to see the new business has a nice crowd! I went inside and waited in line. There are certainly growing pains that I'm sure are being addressed, but the cashier seemed really overwhelmed and had to step away from the register every few seconds as 1 person ordered which causes a big line to inefficiently moved. Names were also not taken during the orders so there was a mix-up of the items distributed. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with wheat bread & I was quite disappointed to have a sliver of chicken salad for the cost. I went with my wife for lunch and I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about the menu, since I've never really eaten a sandwich at a restaurant outside of Subway, and thought a chicken salad sandwich sounded too plain. I was wrong. First of all the restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. It was a very comfortable atmosphere I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and wild rice soup. The food was really good. A great change of pace in Baytown. The service and nice and steady. Inside could use some music but a bad sit down option. The 2 scoops complimented each other well. I recently placed a carry out order for the following: Fancy Nancy chicken salad on a croissant, Everything baked potato soup and red velvet cake. I'll start with the good stuff: the soup and cake were both delicious, fresh and very tasty. The chicken salad sandwich, however, fell quite short. As a native Atlantan now residing in Baytown, I truly never thought that Texas would ruin one of my favorite casual restaurants in the world for me, but it has succeeded in doing just that. I have been eating at Chicken Salad Chick most of my adult life, as it is an Atlanta institution. I have eaten at 3 different Chicken Salad Chick locations in Texas, and every experience was more disappointing than the one before it. When they opened a location here in Baytown earlier this year, I told my husband the first time we visited that it would soon be the end of our Chicken Salad Chick days. And I was correct. Such a crying shame. We've been to the Baytown location about 6 times, and I can tell you a major mess-up for each visit. From giving us the wrong order to the difference in the taste of the recipes to cold, dry toasted sandwiches not fit to eat, to being out of numerous items, to ridiculously poorly trained employees and smaller portions paired with increasing prices, they have run the gamut of mistakes. Yesterday we finally reached the breaking point. After an $87 DoorDash order for TWO (with a couple of small extra chicken salad sides for later in the week) which was horrific- missing bacon and tomatoes that we paid for, missing sides, cold, dried out croissants on a chicken salad melt to ever-shrinking portions and mashed and maimed pickles and missing cookies and on and on and on, I finally have to admit that it just isn't worth trying anymore and we are done. It's is time to break up, Chicken Salad Chick, my old friend. I am not certain why Baytown has such an INCREDIBLY HORRIFIC time finding decent restaurant employees, but I tell ya, you could order a meal from every restaurant on Garth Rd and you would be hard-pressed to get one decent complete meal. It is hit or miss at best, and 9 times out of ten, we regret even bothering. We eat out or order in most days and nights, and with the money we are spending, I would be better off hiring a personal Chef and paying for the groceries instead of ordering from or eating at any restaurants around here. First time in my life that I've ever found a bug in my food. I have a habit of not crunching down on extra bits left in my mouth for fear of biting into a piece of pepper, so as I was eating the pasta salad, I fished the would be piece of pepper out to discover it wasn't pepper. So I am a fan of Chicken Salad Chick so I am not a stranger by any means when it comes to ordering and what should come in a sandwich when you order it. I sent my husband with a text message stating the exact way to order my Chick Trio. Apparently the person at the drive through heard Kickin' Kay Lynne instead of Jalepeno Holly so this was an easy fix. It is my understanding that sandwiches come with lettuce and tomato unless otherwise asked or requested to have them removed. My sandwich came plain- no lettuce no tomato(sad). I have not had this happen at other locations I have visited. I am giving grace because I know they have not been opened for very long and I'm fairly certain the long lines in both the drive through and inside can be overwhelming. As a treat, my husband ordered me a flower cookie, which he did not receive. I will assume it was not put in the bag when the sandwich confusing ensued. Was the food as expected? Yes.
