I was happy to see there was a place to eat within walking distance of my hotel. I was in the area for a week with no car. I think I ended up eating at Jason's Deli 4 times. It was awesome. This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. I always call my order in an pick it up. Their customer service is always good and the food is delicious! I typically order the manager's special with 1/2 sandwich and soup. I like that you can choose from any of their sandwiches and soups. Their selection is very nice and I haven't been disappointed. They give you so much food that I'm always stuffed before I can finish it all. The food is fresh and oh by the way their salad bar looks amazing. The only thing that can be a bit of a problem is parking during the lunch hour. Due to their popularity, it may be a bit of a crunch finding parking. Their sitting area is very spacious and is similar to one of a large cafeteria. This will remain one of my favorite lunch eateries. read more

One of my favorite lunch spots this location has always done me right. Sandwiches, soups, salads Jason's deli has a ton of options. My favorite items are the Santa Fe chicken sandwich, ranchero wrap, Kings ranch po boy and the Amy's turkey O. As you can see I frequent here quite a bit. This place calls the COPS on its customers! Ghetto, rude staff!!! We visited this location today 7/27/2023 at around 1030-11am. We ordered our food at the counter (the girl taking our order prompted us to tip her, which we did not)...she did NOT give us a receipt. We sat down and waited for our food. While I was filling the drinks for my family, I overheard the very nice Hispanic woman (staff member) alerting the manager that the Wild Berry Hibiscus Tea tasted like water and needed to be remade. The manager tasted it and said, "it's fine just stir it some more, don't remake it"....when our food came out, we were approached by a Caucasian blonde haired employee, who didn't greet us or anything but just started tossing our food on the table. I looked at the ROTTING FRUIT (mushed rotten red grapes & yellow/green strawberries with brown spots" - nothing else) that she set in front of my 2 year old baby, and told her, oh no - this fruit isn't going to work for us, it's rotten, he can't eat that, he'll get sick, and I removed the fruit from his plate of chicken nuggets and set it on the red tray she was about to take back to the kitchen (like we always do). She then said something along the lines of "wowwwww" (as though I offended her by not wanting rotting fruit within arms reach of a BABY who doesn't understand that he can get sick from eating rotten fruit), and then I responded "wowwww? Obviously if the person who made my baby's plate didn't see the rotten fruit they were trying to serve my baby, they might need to get their eyes checked because it's rotten ALL OVER." To which she walked off with an attitude and mumbling under her breath. She did that so fast that I didn't have time to tell her that we were still missing my oldest child's entire meal. So, I got up to go alert them of his missing meal (kids pizza & we paid extra for a side of baked chips)...on my way over there I heard her telling an African American woman (who wasn't wearing a name tag, and later refused to tell me her name) that I "threw the fruit on the tray" which was a BLATANT LIE. I told her that was absolutely UNTRUE and that there were people sitting right next to us who could attest to the fact that I simply SET the fruit on the tray and told her I didn't want it because it was rotten. I then asked for a refund for the rotten fruit and the manager (who refused to give me her name) told me that she wouldn't give me a refund and that she was going to call the PO-lice on me, to which I said "for what? For asking for a refund for the rotten fruit you served my baby?" The manager then picked up the phone and called the police to come there!! I immediately called Jason's deli corporate and they told me to ask the manager's name, which I did, and told her they were asking, and she responded "the police can give it to you when they get here!" so I told corporate what she had told me to tell them, and they then said they were going to try to contact the general manager Daniel, and would have him call me. They also told me that they didn't understand why the manager would have called the police on me and that someone would reach back out. The police showed up and basically said that we would need to leave because the manager wanted us to leave, yo which I explained that was fine, just as soon as I received a refund on my entire 4 people's worth of food that we hadn't been able to eat, since the manager CALLED THE COPS. The manager at first refused to refund my family's entire uneaten meal. Then the police advised her to refund us, and she obliged. While I was waiting on my refund, the general manager Daniel called in (I heard the employee say something along the lines of "hey Daniel, yes the police are here now I can't talk...let me get her"....The police told the manager that they could not permanently trespass us, and that she would have to verbally tell us that, not them. Then the police officer handed me my refund in cash (the manager signed in as Daniel, not as herself, so her name didn't print on my receipt"...Anyways, all of the food we received was terrible anyways, so we were glad to get a refund and leave. We will NEVER be back, and I will be posting this story EVERYWHERE!! And Daniel NEVER returned my call (I called into corporate twice and they said he would definitely return my call). He has NOT. What a terribly run JOKE of a business!!! Watch out, or they may call the cops on you too if you complain about their terrible food quality. read more

I ate today at the Hoover Jason's. It was 3pm, and only 8 customers were in the store. I like to sit at the tables against the wall. Every table needed to be wiped down, including my table. I "cleaned" it. Half way into my sandwich, I realized there was no mayo on it. No pickle, either. . While observing my surroundings, every table as well as the chairs needed a good cleaning, in the whole restaurant. I generally get a salad to go, but I decided to eat there. I wish I had gotten my sandwich to go. Quit hiring these kids who really don't want to work, please! You're better than this! read more

Was going to a movie nearby with some friends. Several of whom have limited food options. We went to Jason's Deli, their first time but I've been many times before and previously enjoyed. Most of the group ordered the salad bar, $10 not counting a drink. But not unreasonable since you can grab a plate of salad and then go back for some hummus or something. Food is cheap for them but a good variety. Or it was, apparently they've decided that shady is the way to do business. According to the store they've changed their practices and you can only get a single plate from that bar. They don't tell you that however, not a single sign about a significant change in business practices away from the normal behavior. They just go after you for trying to go back for another plate. This is so of course people will buy the bar and won't know they only get a single chance to get food, thus getting less. Given that this is according to them a recent change I think the lack of signage says a lot about the company. Aside from that most of the tables were filthy and hadn't been cleaned as the dinner rush just started. Basically just bad business, if you want something other than the salad you might go. But there are other places that serve better options at better prices, Jason's Deli is big because of their salad bar option. But since they're now trying to scam people I can't imagine going back there again. Just wanted to warn so others know not to visit if a salad is what they're craving. read more

The place is always crowded witch is a good thing.... Today I got the salmon sandwich it has on it avocados, tomatoes, aioli sauce, lettuce, on a ciabatta bread! Also got spicy gumbo & there salad bar! Plenty of ways to fix your salad from there bar.... There's a sweet treat to finish off your meal soft serve ice cream! read more

We dined on a Sunday after church. We were a group of 6 so we sat outside because there was no seating inside. The line was quite long to order the food, but it went fast. The service/ workers we encountered were great and quite helpful. This was the only pro from our time there. The atmosphere was very busy and the restaurant was quite dirty. There was no soap in the womens restroom. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich-Shelly's Deli Chick & 1 trip to the salad bar. The sandwich was not good at all and the salad bar was bare. The salad bar was also dirty. For what you pay, I do not feel like it was worth it. I will return because I normally like this restaurant. Had a salmon sandwich here. It was really delicious and I was really happy. The combo of the crisp foccacia bread with the creamy avocado and flaky salmon created a perfect texture, while the blend of aioli sauce and the fresh salmon taste combined to make the best sandwich I've ever had. I was having a really hard day at work and decided to try Jason's Deli for the first time, I was immediately greeted by a friendly face. (I think his name was Daniel.) He asked for my order and I let him know it was my first time and that I was sorry but I needed just a minute to navigate the menu. Tons of great options available! He helped me decide and even asked me what made me try them out. I mentioned a friend had told me how good their gumbo is and I am a lover of all good gumbo. I didn't order it that day because the menu said "spicy." He let me try a sample to see if it was a level of spice I could handle. I love this place. Eating healthy is easy when you ha e a salad bar like this. Just don't have the free ice cream and don't have the cheese and delicious ranch dressing and you can have a lunch to help with your new year resolution to lose weight. What's not to like about enormous deli sandwiches, a huge salad bar with lots of organic options and free soft serve ice cream. We've gone to this location for years. The managers special is the way to go in my opinion. Half a sandwich and a single trip to the salad bar. My son loooves the hot beefeater. Roast beef melted provolone and au jus. It's the closet thing we have to a real deli. I almost always go Ruben w the stone ground mustard in lieu of thousand islands. I've sampled the muffuletta, Turkey Ruben, hot beefeater, a couple of wraps, Club.... I would consider them all solid choices. The Texas chili is a big bowl of spiced ground beef with cheese and onions. Not authentic Texas red but still quite good. Wife loves the tomato basil and the broccoli cheese. I've never had a bad meal at this location. I can't think of a franchise location that wasn't up to par. This is the most convenient location to us. read more

I ordered the quinoa shrimp salad, and it was not prepared well at all. The lemons garnished on the plate were brown, there was no dressing or implications on the menu that there would be none. I've always been a huge fan of Jason's and this location is no different. For those who aren't familiar with Jason's, they have all kinds of wraps, salads, soups and sandwiches. They also have a huge salad bar and you get free dessert with your meal (it's basically just soft serve ice cream and cones). Three of us went in there tonight and ordered three sandwiches (the New Yorker, the Beefeater and the Club Royale), two of us got soup (Chicken Pot Pie and Broccoli Cheese) and we all got drinks. It ended up costing about $43, but that's not too bad for three people for full meals, especially considering that two of us had to get takeout containers because we couldn't finish. The location was clean and quite crowded for a Thursday evening, however we were able to walk right up to the counter and order. We got our drinks and waited for maybe 10 minutes for our food. The boy who brought it to us was very friendly and helpful and another person walked by and offered to get us drink refills while we were eating. The food was good, as usual. All three of us really enjoyed it. The sandwiches were huge and the soup was hot and very flavorful. My boyfriend had never been to Jason's Deli and I had nothing but good things to say about their food, so we placed an order for pickup for dinner. We decided to split a whole muffaletta and chose a side of baked chips and a side of tuna pasta salad. We arrived about 7:15 (we had scheduled our order between 7 and 7:30). The guy at the register did not seem very familiar with the process of accepting and processing an order that had already been made online, but thankfully our food was ready so he just had to put it in the bags. I watched him toss in two pickles and two bags of lays and hand our food to us. Because I saw this, I had a feeling the sides we had specified had gone overlooked. We double-checked at the car and turns out were just given two bags of chips and a pickle instead of the sides we actually ordered and paid for. But I won't go back and correct an order unless the food was rendered inedible because of the error, so I figured whatever I'll eat some chips. It's not like I've got any specific dietary restrictions, you know? But it turns out, our muffalettas were absolutely awful. If you actually enjoy muffalettas, don't order them here. You'll be reduced to a miserable puddle of self-loathing and hate. The bread was really what ruined it--it was too crispy and covered in sesame seeds and tasted like it had been burnt somehow. The fixin's of the actual sandwich were bland, and the crappy bread only multiplied the dryness throughout. You don't just throw some olives and ham on some over-toasted white bread and call it a muffaletta. Maybe add some oil? Or just any flavor at all? Come on, guys, it's not like this is some secret recipe. Are you really gonna let McAlister's kick your ass on the muffaletta front? I eat here at least 2-3 times a week, but the only thing I've ever ordered is the salad bar! During the lunch rush, this is the best bet, as there is a separate, self-serve computer for ordering the salad bar if you're paying with a card, usually with no line, no wait. You can add chicken, salmon, turkey, etc to the salad, but I find that the veg-only option is good enough as it is. The salad bar variety is the same every day, but there are enough choices that I usually have a different salad every time I visit. Tip: use ice cream cups to get your dressing on the side, or raid the ice tea bar for some fresh lemon/lime wedges to mix with EVOO for a healthier dressing. Boiled eggs are usually overcooked, but that's probably a food safety issue. The hummus is amazing! Even though this place isn't full-service, if you need something you can usually ask one of the food runners, and they will gladly bring it to you. For a fast, healthy lunch in the Hoover area, you really can't beat it! read more

This is my "go to" restaurant when I don't have plans. I enjoy their menu selections and their staff is friendly. One note, if you go past 9 pm the service seems to deteriorate. Meaning, only one register/screen available and the food is not of the same quality. My guess is that they are breaking down their areas to clean in order to get out at a decent time.
