Very disappointed in Jason's Deli I was in today for lunch with my family and after we started eating we noticed a young lady carrying her dog around the restaurant. This was not a service animal and was a center of attention for most of the employees who were petting the dog. None of the employees that were petting the dog washed their hands before returning to work disgusting! We were more disappointed when we realized that the young lady was an employee herself that was off work. We were further disgusted when the young lady started making herself a plate from the salad bar without washing her hands. I recently ordered a delivery from Jason's deli over the phone because the potato my pregnant gf wanted was no longer on the menu. They took my order and CC Info and said it would take 30 -45 min for delivery. I waited over an hour and called back only to find out the order was never placed at all!! Meanwhile I'm waiting with a starving pregnant lady(my gf) for an order that was never even placed. They have wonderful sandwiches and the salad bar was nice but no jello or anything sweet except ice cream was very good. They are very fast getting your food to your table and the soup is so good, especially the wild rice soup. Fantastic place for great fresh soup and deli sandwich's. Salad bar was superb although we did over indulge on the mini corn bread and ginger bread muffins. We were there at peek lunch time but line moved quickly and order was brought to our table in what seemed like minutes. Very clean and spacious but certainly cafeteria style and a bit noisy. However - prices were very reasonable. I would rate this better quality, more selections and lower cost to Panera's. Location on 192 across from Melbourne Mall is very convenient where ever you are staying or if you just want to get off I95 for a rest and great meal. Ok - after 4 visits I cannot day enough Salmon salad is great. My wife however prefers to order side of grilled chicken and salad bar to make salad as she likes it The corned beef to excellent. Food has fallen in quality and the store is filthy. I was afraid to touch the toilet and tables are sitting un-bussed and dirty. I was in the store twice in August and it wasn't until my second time in that I decided to lower my score. I know here in Florida people are less concerned about Covid, if the tables aren't being cleaned and the bathroom looks like it's been days sence anyone has cleaned it they sure aren't trying to keep things sanitary for customers. Well, I've been to Jason's deli 3 times over the last couple weeks and today was the first time I felt compelled to write a review. Spoiler alert, my visit today was not a good one. My review today is going to be a little different, I haven't made any reviews since the world went to hell in a handbasket, I want to give places a chance to adjust things due to the pandemic, and improve things wherever they can. The thing I always loved about Jason's deli was the salad bar, they always just had the basics plus the food was fresh and they were always nice enough to give me a clean plate or help you with anything you needed. Today I found out that their salad bar was no longer unlimited, it is now a one time trip. That information would've been nice to know before ordering, but the way I found out about it is what made me upset. I'm not sure if the big guy at the counter was the manager, but he was certainly acting like he was the boss and he had zero positive people skills, speaking to me in a very snarky way telling me that the salad bar is now one time trip and making me feel like I should have known that. I just wanted a plate to get some pudding and he refused and made me feel like I was committing a crime just asking for it. I went to my table a picked up my tiny saucer that wasn't used and proceeded to fill it with chocolate pudding (they no longer had vanilla pudding) and the whole time he glared at me shaking his head (my companion watched him). At the time it was 2:30 in the afternoon and there was a total of six people in the restaurant eating. Except for this one guy, all the staff members were very nice and courteous, just what you expect in an establishment that caters to many older folk. As I sat there, an elderly couple entered and ordered the salad bar, and I heard the staff tell them that the salad bar was no longer unlimited. I couldn't help but think that this cute couple may have looked forward all day to enjoying a true salad bar experience at Jason's Deli, only to walk away disappointed, the gentleman slowly worked his way into the restaurant using his walker, and how much trouble it would have been to leave and go somewhere else. It might have been too much for the man to carry all that he wanted back to his seat knowing that he couldn't return back to the bar once he stepped away from it. The blowhard behind the counter did not offer to assist the couple, or offer to send an employee to assist the couple but he did make sure to let them know they can only make one trip to the salad bar. The couple brought the total customers back to 6, a couple people had left, and the capacity in that location has to be about 75-100 people. After today I can't recommend eating the salad bar at Jason's Deli, save your money, it's not worth it. On the cleanliness front Jason's Deli is doing really well, it was clean (which is easy to do when you don't have customers). The big bottle of hand sanitizer smells like rum and made your hands feel a little sticky (I liked it but my partner didn't). It made it a little difficult to put on the gloves hey give you to access the salad bar. I did not use the restroom so I'm not able to critique its cleanliness, but from previous visits, I've never seen the restroom dirty. In this area I would recommend the Sun Shoppe for chicken salad or spicy tuna salad sandwiches, the Honey Baked Ham Co for ham and Turkey sandwiches. If you want something bigger, Publix Deli or Firehouse Subs. Subway still makes a good meatball sub, and sadly Wawa is hit and miss with their offerings. Cumberland Farms has a really good bbq rib sandwich and pre made salads. For pizza bizarro's on the beach is still king (make sure you have cash), in Palm Bay bizarro's on Malabar is pretty good too. If you just have to have a salad bar there's always Golden Corral which has a very decent salad bar, and you can fill up as much as you want read more

This is a unique place, reminiscent of some NY delis. Order at the counter, get your number and the food is brought to you. Interesting choices and combos. I had the mufaletta sandwich. For my first in-restaurant visit, I was greeted by Mark, a cheery man with a terrific attitude. He was knowledgeable about the product line, efficient in taking our order and...simply treated us so well. The food was fast and tasty, with a large portion offered. The bread had terrific texture and flavor, meats were cut well and tender. I enjoyed the ice tea flavor and love that they don't use high fructose corn syrup as a sweetener. The staff were a bit short, so we observed the employees wearing many hats. That said, they prioritized their guest experience. I've had a memorable experience today and will come again. read more

The food here is good. Call ahead or online ordering is normally accurate. When the location is busy the orders can take a longer time to prep which can be frustrating when you are hungry, but normally they churn out food pretty quickly. Soups are always tasty! read more

Today my toddler threw up (like a lot) on the floor while I was ordering my to-go food. I was mortified - still am. But the guy who came to help us (I think his name was Spencer) made me feel so much better about the situation. I mean I literally wanted to die on the spot in that moment but he came over and cleaned it up and told me it wasn't a big deal even though nobody wants to clean up some random kids vomit when the restaurant is busy. This place is a great place for lunch. Delicious sandwiches and an awesome salad bar.They also have complimentary soft serve ice cream. The staff is nice and attentive but it was dirty on the floor and the booths. I stoped in right when they opened and the booths were full of crumbs hadn't looked wiped down at all. The best salad bar/deli food in town. I wish they would open more of these up north. I hope they never leave and never change. The salad bar has a wide variety of options. Their sandwiches are delicious (California Club is my fav). You can do a half sandwich and one trip to the salad bar for $1 more than the price of a sandwich if you want both. It's awesome. What a great find in South Florida after our fishing trip to Sebastian Inlet. The whole restaurant is wide open and spacious, very welcoming when we walked in. It's a fast casual restaurant, so grab a menu on your way in and order from the register. They have a great variety of choices, from sandwiches to pastas. With a little extra, you can add one plate of salad or unlimited. The price is pretty reasonable, they even offer free ice cream for every diner. What a great concept! read more

Food is great! Customer service needs work. I ordered the Pot Roast melt to go. I got all the way home and realized there was no cheese on it. I called to let them know. The manager on duty told me if I bring it back they would remake it. No apology, or acknowledgement of the inconvenience. When I get back my sandwich is waiting. Still no apology or attempt to make up for the inconvenience of driving an extra 30 minutes to correct the food. I asked to keep the old sandwich to give to my dog for the inconvenience. Salad bar is over $9 with no meat, very limited extras and is a one time only trip. Reminds me of a old roadside restaurant or when Wendy's had a salad bar years ago. Except the price was better and even they had meat as well as many pasta choices. We won't be back for anything from Jason's deli. The spinach was subpar as well. I had high hopes for them. They have past reputation but they are definitely going downhill. Was our third try in many years And it just gets worse every time. I actually left hungry and I don't eat that much. Had a truly enjoyable lunch. My girl and I split a corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese. The sand which came with a nice pile of chips as well. We were both full just on the split sand which. Short version: great variety of healthy choices for those with specialty diets. Very good food. Service is good & place is usually clean. There are some parts of the restaurant that could use change, especially regarding handicapped access and germs. Super-long version: I eat here at lest 30 times a year, usually the same night of the week. Note: I am unfamiliar with New York delis & that may affect my opinions/experience; I have been a regular customer, alone & with a medium sized group, for over a year and it may have affected the level of service I received to a small degree. I've eaten a wide range of selections: soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, desserts, etc. All have been good to great. It has a very good variety of vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options. One of the few places in that area with actual healthy choices that are still tasty. My favorites are the salmon salad, SW chili, and healthy wraps. My friends seem to be in love with the Reubens here, and order them frequently. Bathrooms are small, but clean (two stalls), and paper towels are provided, not the annoying air blowers. Handicapped stall is equipped with sink, soap and paper towel dispenser. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, some members of whom have been outstanding and going above & beyond. I usually get my meals customized and have only once had an incorrect order (asked for no onions, got onions). With each meal, one receives free ice cream & chocolate syrup, cracker section of salad bar (which is bigger than you think). The salad bar is always tidy and clean; one staff member keeps on that area almost exclusively. Separate fountain just for water, so one doesn't have to drink water with an aftertaste of the shared soda. Variety of regular sweet/unsweet tea, with the addition black currant tea, or a different interesting mix. During the lunch rush, there is a separate line/cash register for people who are ordering just soup/salad and are paying with debit cards. It makes it much more efficient for those on lunch hour who don't want to order from any other section of the menu. There are some negatives. 1) there is an open cooler by the cash register with bottles/drinks exposed to every germy child, sneezing/coughing person, and anything else. I've seen kids practically lick these bottles and the parents ignore it, and due to the height of the counter, staff can't see it. The top shelf is covered (desserts), but the bottom few are not. Unless you are carrying hand sanitizer, or just like to challenge your immune system, don't touch anything in there. 2) Most of the restaurant appears clean (except during/immediately after a rush), but I once saw a staff member find a dropped salt shaker on the floor, and just stick it back on the table without any attempt at cleansing it. 3) The decor is outdated & old, not in a 'charming' way, but in a way where one's body sinks halfway into the booth bench, there are some tears in the upholstery, and none of the furniture has been updated since this location first opened. 4)Very poor noise suppression. One has to practically kiss in order to hear another person speak. Then someone has to repeat to the rest of table, etc. In a group of 6 or more, this effectively means conversation partners are limited to those immediately opposite or next to one. This splits the group, and makes some people feel left out. It is difficult to politely change conversation partners, as it requires moving seats. 5)Difficult for handicapped access. No auto door openers, very little room between tables, or between counter and low wall. I've brought a friend who needs a wheelchair here, but we always go in first to clear a path for her, and order for her. Not too hard because tables & chairs are easily moved, but I imagine it might be dangerous in an emergency situation. Clearing a path would also be necessary for someone with a walker, scooter, crutches, etc. read more

I go here to get my fix of Muffalettas - a delicious fix of olive dressing on a big New Orleans style roll with ham and cheese. Originally concocted by the Italian community in New Orleans. Almost unknown, and very hard to duplicate. The owner HAS to be from New Orleans, folks. Where yat ? Well they got it right. Hard to fool this ol' cajun. Plus , you get a free cone of soft serve ice cream. Kids love it . How can you go wrong ? I've only had one problem with anything I ordered and that was the bread spent too long in the toaster for my sandwich. My family and I stopped here around 9:30 pm yesterday on our way to our hotel room after a long day. I didn't expect too much because the restaurant was due to close at 10pm. I was beyond satisfied and overall very impressed. Not only was the food delicious, the service was impeccable! Donte took our order, and assisted with prepping and bagging it up.
