So I've never heard of this place. We were passing through and just stopped at whatever was nearby. These people were so sweet! Everyone said hello, the staff actually seemed happy, everyone was smiling, it was honestly great. The food was good, nothing fancy. The prices were decent, the kids meals were $4.29 and $4.99. They came with a side, a drink, and a cookie! Our waiter was awesome, food came out quick. I would simply go back for the service and the environment. read more

Sounds crazy but I left my iced tea there accidentally so I called to ask if I could come back and get it. The manager said absolutely not. They threw it out, and refused to give me a new one. Over an iced tea, they lost 5 customers. My family and I used to go there together. It's been 2 1/2 years, and we won't be back. Petty and greedy people. read more

I did the prime rib grilled with fries and Rose did the half BLT and Chicken noodle soup. Hot and fast service from Monica. She was polite and patient with us today. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We will be going back. read more

Though it is a big-box restaurant, it really impressed with food and service... I will admit, though, things didn't start off so good. We had what I would deem and exorbitantly long wait for wait-staff to show up. But once it did, it seemed worth the wait. Meal-wise, their menu is much like other restaurants of this type - American comfort food type fare - pot roast, chicken strips, beef and shrimp skillets, you know the like. Even so, what we all ordered - from the beef skillet, to a burger, and yes, chicken strips, were all cooked hot and fast and tasted quite good. I will mention that the chicken strips did come out over cooked. After the server made a fuss that she thought they didn't look appetizing, and after my wife send not to worry, she brought out a better batch for my wife to have - what a super plus in our book. (Rarely, if ever, do you see this type of concern and commitment.) For desserts we had cookies, a cinnamon bun, and their Heath Pie - all of it was sinfully good. No complaints there (and those cookies came out warm, and soft, and oh so gooey.) A solid big-box place that shows it cares for it's patron's experience. We will sure be back soon. read more

THANKSGIVING TAKEOUT DINNER Never again. We ordered 2 dinners which included potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie. Inside box #1 was pourable mashed potatoes, barely a tablespoon of stuffing (overly moist), a couple of small turkey slices, green beans and a little bit of light brown gravy. No flavor, no roll, no cranberry sauce, no napkin or utensils. I have waited for so long for pumpkin pie. My husband is not fond of it so he ordered, as an extra, a cinnamon roll. That way, I'd enjoy 2 pumpkin pies! Instead of pumpkin, we received 2 apple pies. read more

My husband and I eat here often so I don't always check in. This restaurant is well managed, with friendly responsive wait staff. I eat varied items, the breakfasts are varied and support designing your own. Mondays offer free pie, exceptional value. I love the wild berry pie even if it has the lowest calories. Dinners, salads, soups can also make a quick snack. No alcohol is served. Bathrooms are always clean. read more

Food was very good and service was fine. Just never have been a big fan of Perkins or Denny's. I doubt if I will return as there are so many other places in the area to choose from. I personally like mom n pop places over chains. read more

The pies are excellent - took home two for Christmas and everyone loved them. Stopped in for lunch and I would not recommend it. The fish & chips should be taken off the menu. The other two people with me had "acceptable" food but nothing great. I must say the staff were all very friendly though. read more

Four of us went to breakfast at Perkins on Sunday morning. The restaurant was really busy, but we were immediately seated and a waitress took our drink orders. She returned with the drinks quickly and took our food order. The food was also served in short order. Everyone at our table commented on the quick service, how hot and delicious the food was. We were all impressed with our waitress. She was very pleasant, efficient and attentive even though she was waiting on several other tables. In summary this Perkins staff and food are superb. We'll be back often. read more

Despite various reviews, we gave it a try. We got in about a hour before they closed so it was not crowded at all. There were a couple of older patrons at different tables. We were seated promptly, ordered our food and were served quickly. Not sure if it was because they trying to go home but our customer service was good. I had the all the way/American smasher with a side of sausage gravy and he had the Mediterranean smasher. Mine a looked a little bigger than his but they were both good and filling. Like I said, they were closing down so the only complaint was the male server was vacuuming next to us but it was only a couple of minutes. We enjoyed our food, never felt rushed and will probably come back again. read more

I haven't been in here in almost 8 years. The last time I was in here we vowed not to come back. Why? Because it was dingy looking from the moment we got inside, everything screamed "old outdated diner" even the salt and pepper shakers appeared to have not been cleaned in decades. I honestly don't remember how the food tasted only that we were grossed out by the environment. Today I was alone and gave it a chance, 8 years later. And you know what ??! What a huge improvement! First off they changed all of their lighting so it's bright inside like an ihop or a Denny's and it looks like they spent some money on renovations, new coloring, a more open air appearance . The menus looked updated too. And everything was clean. My food was delicious. And they have a promoted in house bakery menu with slices and whole pies. Glad I gave it a chance today . read more

So we never went to any perkins before. Today we decided to go since they offer free breakfast for Veterans so it was for us the occasion to try it on. The place is clean and the staff nice. Brian our server was very nice, it's not always easy to serve people that you know are eating for free because the risk is that they will not tip. Well he did his job with smile. So thank you Brian for serving us. The food was good and I'm certainly not going to complain over free food. We will come back and try it again. read more

Absolutely disgusting. Was visiting my parents for Christmas and on our way out of town we stopped here for brunch. Man I have seen some seriously shitty food but this place leaves me speechless. My wife ordered an omelet with avocado and what was served had black avocado on it. No lie. I was shocked and when we sent it back she said it was all like that. What kind of donkey in a kitchen sends out spoiled avocado? Take it off the menu. The rest of the meal was no better. Bland eggs, over salted and dried up greasy left over home fries etc etc etc. In Seattle this place would have been shut down by the health department or closed from lack of business. I guess the rules are different in Melbourne. I feel sorry for folks who think this is eating out because it was not cheap. It was similar to prices in Seattle but 10% of the quality. ABSOLUTELY. DISGUSTING. Dont eat here. Period. Ever. read more

So after attempting to taste all THREE " pumpkin pies" from walmart after our Thanksgiving feast. ALL were disgusting I mean GROSS. So we called Perkins around 6pm ..they were open and had plenty of homemade pies! So we picked one up and it was soooooo good! Don't waste your time or money getting pies elsewhere just get them from here! Lesson learned ..and Walmart money down the drain ( threw all 3 pies away!) read more

Our waitress Stephanie was amazing! Everything's you want from a restaurant. We all ended up ordering breakfast and it was all delicious. The steak and eggs were cooked perfect. My ham and cheese omelette was also especially delicious. Our pancakes were fluffy and hot. I highly recommend this place if you want good old fashioned diner food. Great service!! read more

Service was slow and fairly impersonal. Felt like I was bothering my waitress, but we all have bad days. Food was pretty good, my eggs were perfect. My hash browns were a little small portioned, but who needs the carbs. Tomato juice was fresh this time, kind of stale last time. Mother's Day was very busy but the staff is efficient and I was really pleased that it wasn't at all noisy! Wish other restaurants were that way. One complaint: The sign outside clearly said "Mothers Eat Free" for Mother's Day. Not really. We were a party of three. Mom had a $12 entree, daughter had a $13 entree and dad had an $8 entree. Dad was the one who "ate for free" because "the computer discounts the least expensive entree." Come on--either Mom eats for free or she doesn't. Misleading advertising. read more

I come here from time to time for breakfast and the occasional diner style dinner.Tonight I got chicken noodle soup, a BLT, and coconut cream pie. All were tasty but nothing to write home about. The.pies here are very good and I would highly recommend them. The staff here is very rriendly and helpful in keeping glasses of soda full. read more

Food was quick and the service was great. You may be surprised to know this location is not 24 hr like the rest. Only rating a four star because I overhead someone ask for more decaf and the waitress refused to brew more because they were closing soon. The couple was older and I felt bad for them. Its the difference between the original Perkins customer service and the upsetting way the world has changed since then. That seemed outrageous to me to deny someone coffee in a bakery diner lol. But the food was great and our waitress was attentive to us and I got my beverages ok (lol). read more

I agree with the review that said this is a great example of what a Perkins should be. Great food, great service, competitive pricing, well trained staff. There are always a lot of regulars in there- for good reason. Staff is always especially kind to the elderly. Love this location. One of the best breakfasts in town! read more

The shrimp was flavorful and it all paired well. The sauce on what I believe was called "miami" flavored, was good, but the chicken was not edible unless you would bite a chicken in the wild. I won't be back.
