Wonderful service, most attentive, friendly, and helpful staff, including Jason, who is the owner. He is the embodiment of the energy of his restaurant. High quality meats. Nice variety of dishes. Very attentive staff. Modern and clean. It is a bit pricier for the top tier options but the quality makes it super worth it. You can absolutely stick with the first tier if you want a more affordable option though. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth and the duck is delicious (you just have to cook it until it's slightly pink) so you can't go wrong. Come hungry because you'll want to try everything. This is my new favorite Korean BBQ restaurant north of Boston. I used to go to Sura in Medford, but stopped going when I noticed the quality of ingredients began to get worse and worse at Sura's. I am very glad to have discovered Jason's KBBQ. They offer three "tiers" of menus to choose from: premium ($38.95), ultimate ($46.95), and supreme ($55.95). Went there a few weeks ago with a friend. The parking lot was packed as usual, but the restaurant itself was rather empty around 6pm. Our waitress let us in through the 2nd entrance and sat us done. It wasn't a big deal, but was kind of weird that she was sucking on a lollipop while working. The meal tiers were broken up into thirds. I went with the basic tier because we weren't too hungry, but enjoyed the marinated beef the most. Also surprised that the spicy chicken was ACTUALLY spicy for once! The dumplings was very small, I suggest ordering one for each person there. Besides a few meats, the rest of the final, most expensive tier could probably be lumped into the first tier. I'm told they are working on their alcohol license as well. I wasn't given any beverage menu, only settled for Thai iced tea when I saw guests in front of me order it. Almost forgot, the service is different than the prior location. Old location, you can get up and get your sides and other items like rice yourself from the buffet. Here, you are brought everything as you order. In summary, I'll go to Jason's for the convenience of it being closer to home than the other usual spots I frequent. The Korean bbq here is SO DELICIOUS and always hits the spot. I stopped by today and found out they are also serving AYCE Hotpot now too. I got 1/2 tomyom and 1/2 miso broth and it was ADDICTING. All of the veggies and meats were super high quality and fresh. The interior was also so very nice, probably the best decorated KBBQ and hotpot restaurant i've been to in MA. The service is always impeccable. Jason, the owner, and all of the servers take care of you as if you are family. Super kind and very inviting! I just left this restaurant. I walked in and the man at the counter told me he had a reservation for 40 people and He wasn't seating. I told him I had driven quite a ways and he should have put something on his website if he wasn't seating people. It was upsetting as I had just checked his website, and had driven a long distance and had never been in the area. The restaurant isn't in the nicest area, both doors were propped open, kinda liked liked like a dump, so I shouldn't be surprised by the rudeness of the staff when I told them they should have posted something on their website if they weren't seating people. He started yelling at me that I think I'm more important. The guy was RUDE. I told him I was going to write a review, while we were in our car deciding where to go for dinner, he came out and took a picture of my car. Like really? Not sure what he thinks that will accomplish, but only makes him look like an idiot. I'm not intimidated and will call out unprofessional restaurant staff and warn people away from dumps. This is the closest KBBQ to me. The food is decent for the AYCE prices. I wish there were more variety in their banchan dishes. The pickled daikon was extremely mushy! I'm used to it being crunchy. Steamed egg is delicious and flavorful and so was the ribeye, beef, pork belly, chicken, shrimp, etc. The corn is so bland and boring. I wish they'd add cheese to it like other kbbq spots. Service is also very friendly and attentive. One downside, I wish they'd change the lighting and dim them a bit. It is so insanely bright that I feel like I'm at a salon or something. read more

Me and my girlfriend had our valentines dinner here and were excited to eat Korean bbq for two. We sat down after being silently lead to a table to have a waitress place a piece of paper in front of us to circle for our choices for the meal. The paper was placed and she left without a word or any introduction. We thought it was weird but let it go as they were busy. Another waitress then came and took our paper and 30 minutes later we receive our first two plates of meat and dumplings. We almost finish these and then one of the servers takes a plate with a few pieces we haven't even gotten to yet. Mind you we had also ordered drinks. The whole time we never even got our drinks. Embarrassing service and we were charged $80 for two supreme meals when we only received two plates of meat ! Highly disappointed and financially robbed by lack of service. The worst thing is other customers were receiving perfect service and we were ignored like second class citizens. I sure hope it was not because of my gf's skin color but I guess respect wasn't prevalent at this establishment. Ambiance was nice. Bathroom was so dark you could barely see anything. They def need to either get brighter lights or change the paint to a different color. Restaurant was getting smoky from all the food cooking on the grill pan and not being changed on a timely manner. The food was good overall, but we really didn't get much to try. We ordered a lot of food, however we didn't get everything we ordered due to poor service. What we did try was good- spicy pork belly, pork short ribs, and spicy pork. Miso soup was salty. Assorted vegetables seemed like false advertisement. We thought we'd get what was pictured, but we ended up getting 2 slices of red pepper, 2 slices of carrot, and 2 slices of sweet potato. The kids got nuggets and fries, they liked it and said their fries tasted like McDonald's fries. We also ordered ramen, rice, thin sliced brisket, corn, kimchi, kimchi soup, extra nuggets and fries, all of which we never got. We were there on a Wednesday and there was only one server. It was quite busy and he couldn't keep up with the demands of the customers. Someone from the kitchen had to come out and help, though it wasn't much help. My friend and I wanted a local culinary adventure and we'd never tried Korean BBQ. We were BLOWN AWAY! The restaurant has an elegant, modern yet casual decor. The music playing was atmospheric and the service was excellent. We were told how to order, our server made suggestions, and right away we were given a carafe of water and a salad with toppings to build our own. We loved the ceremony of it all..the grill, the choices, the pace, getting to decide what we wanted to cook first, etc. The quality of the meat was exceptional. The ramen and the pork belly were insanely good. Keep in mind, you will get charged for leftovers, so be mindful of how much you order and what you can REALLY eat in two hours. Also, I would skip the buttered corn option. I was expecting a cob that I could grill but it was a small foil packet of bland corn instead. We did not have drinks but they looked amazing! This was my first time here. And here's what my thoughts are from start to finish. Driving in, they had a spacious parking lot that can fill up fast with a bar next door especially. Entering in, there are two doors open and I had mistakenly entered through the 2nd entrance. Later when I had to go to the bathroom I noticed the actual entrance and it looks very nice and welcoming. We were greeted/seated within 5 min(as reference we came on a Tuesday night). As we were seated we got plates/utensils followed by the side dishes. It was clean, modern and the environment overall was exciting yet calm. As ordering, it was easy to understand what is available/how to order. It is pricey depending what tier you choose to order from. We went all out and chose Supreme. The waiter helped and started to order things he highly recommended to start off with. We ended up getting pork, kalbi, beef tongue, duck, spicy pork and bulgogi. As we got the plates, I have to say that the portion given here is on point. It's not too much where you feel like it's a lot of food just enough to be satisfied-because once you're done you can order more!! I didn't feel rushed while we were eating and they checked In from time to time. It was someone's birthday and they brought a cake out with a birthday song on the speakers. So cute The bathroom is decent clean but kind of dark. Food: The meats tasted good especially the tongue-very different. The presentation was very aesthetically pleasing g. I also got soft tofu stew and loved that it was a good size portion just because I had other food to eat(it tasted very savory and spicy). the grilling happened fast for the meat and it was pretty clean. The side dishes contained of kimchi cabbage, kimchi, pickled radish and kimchi celery, I enjoyed it with the meats and thought it complimented each other. The drinks we had(Thai tea) was a basic Thai tea but very nice with the meal. I'd recommend this place as they had great meats and dishes on top of it. After a very long work week, I decided I wanted Korean BBQ for Friday dinner. I decided to head to Jason's Korean BBQ in South Lawrence. When I arrived, the parking lot was very full since they share the same very tight parking lot with J. Brian's Pub. The pricing in 2022 for AYCE Korean BBQ is tiered with Premium ($38.95 plus tax) - 18 food choices, Ultimate ($48.95 plus tax) - 31 food choices and Supreme ($58.95 plus tax) 42 food choices. I was seated immediately at a small grilling table. Since I can only eat so much, I went with Premium (no higher tiered meats or seafood or special noodles & fried rice). The Premium choices include Marinated Thin Beef, Prime Brisket, Chicken Teriyaki, Spicy Chicken Thighs, Thin Sliced Pork Belly, Spicy Pork, Thin Sliced Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Chicken Nugget, Scallion Pancake, Fries, Vegetables (Squash, Eggplant, Carrot, Green Pepper, Onion, Sweet Potato), Soft Tofu Stew, Bean Paste Stew, Steamed Egg, Miso Soup, Steamed Rice, Pork dumplings, enough food for me. The server fired up the grill while the food ingredients were being prepared. The ingredients were brought out including daikon, kimchi, lettuce, spicy sauce, garlic sauce vegetables, prime brisket, marinated thin beef, chicken teriyaki, spicy tofu stew, small fried pork dumplings, thin sliced pork belly, and steamed rice. The food cooked very quickly on the grill, very hot food. Throughout my meal, I requested refills on certain items, but some never arrived including chicken katsu and scallion pancakes. The check was presented early only after I requested no more meat, but other food items such as miso soup and more fried pork dumplings which took a long while to come out. So glad they left a pitcher of cold water at my table since the food was spicy. The check for one with 10 percent soft opening discount was $37.90 with tax and before tip. Overall, this AYCE Korean BBQ was decent, but on the pricey side. The service was spotty with three servers bringing out my food items. Some items never arrived and even after asking, they said it's still cooking. After waiting for 25 minutes after the check was brought, I decided to cash out and go someplace to cool off. The dining room was very hot because of the numerous hot grills cooking at the same time. On my visit to Jason's BBQ, I felt I was being rushed out since I was solo and I ordered the basic tier of food. I did leave full thanks to the extra pork dumplings I got instead of the scallion pancakes. I've also dined at a much bigger AYCE Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant called KPot (locations across the US, but not in the Boston area) not too long ago and got way more food choices including plenty of meat, seafood, vegetable and noodles, salad bar, sauce bar, and dessert bar with both BBQ and hot pot for $33.99 plus tax. I left full and happy at KPot. Also, KPot is aggressively trying to expand especially in the Northeast with the closest location planning to open in West Springfield. It's only a matter of time when KPot opens in the Boston area. Local Korean BBQ places would really need to step up their game when that happens. read more

Excellent food, though a little on the pricey side which makes it so we can't go as often as we would like despite it being literally down the street! Also quite warm as grills are running and some food is spicy! I was actually sweating! Reasons I didn't take stars off for those two things? First off, the food itself was phenominal. The kimchi is the best I have eaten in my life, and the owner overheard me saying so so he brought me a to go container of it which I felt was super thoughtful. The decor is beautiful, and the grills are new and nothing sticks to them. The service was excellent and the owner really wanted to make sure folks were happy and enjoying themselves. I don't really like to leave bad reviews. But I have to do it this time. I chose hot pot and the food is ordinary. After the front desk person showed me the seat and left a menu to me, no waitress or waiter come to me to ask me to order anything. After I was waiting for 15 mins, I had to run to the front desk to get him to help me order. The food and the pot came quick. The pot did not start to boil. At the beginning I thought it was due to the size of the pot. But after about 20 mins I found they did not start the fire for me. So I tried to start it by myself and there was no fire at all. During this time, I could not find any waitress or waiter in the whole store (it was around 6:40pm). So I went to the restroom and found a waitress who was sitting outside of the restroom and playing her phone. I told her what's going on and she found the fuel bottle was empty. It took me about 1 hour to have the food ready to eat since I stepped into the restaurant. During my whole eating, no one came to me to ask if I need anything. As it was AYCE and we needed to order the food, so I asked the waitress who was sitting outside of the restroom to give me a manual and I wanted to order a second round. She told me she could only speak Spanish. Btw, the restroom was dirty and water was leaking from the ceiling. Terrible experience overall. read more

Let me start by saying if all you do is eat meat, then this is an okay place. The pork and beef were pretty good and my 4 yo loved the chicken katsu. But if you love Korean side dishes and expect an all you can eat to have good sides, skip this place. The kimchi looked and tasted as though it had sat out on a table for several days. Same with the rice. The chigae was lukewarm. Have you ever had chigae served not boiling hot? Absurd. Two pan chun. That's it. The photos are so deceiving. Octopus FULL of sand. Full. No onion. No garlic. No ssamjang. Must ask for sesame oil with salt and pepper. Even the ramen and edamame are subpar. Not sure if it was an off time to visit being opening time on a weekend but wow. I am floored that this place had 4 stars. Total bummer.
