This is an adorable restaurant near the Broward Center. It has a super pretty garden area but is still cute indoors. Our server was Darya and we explained we had show to go to and she made sure we were out of the restaurant long before the show began. The food wasn't anything special, but it was good and fresh. So I would still recommend going here for the ambience and attentive service, and it's an especially good choice prior to a show at the Broward Center. read more

We visited this place for a friends birthday. Who knew this outside space existed behind this cute store front. The back of the restaurant has outdoor seating, coffee truck, sand box and most importantly - lots of fans! We were kindly greeted and sat directly in front of a fan. I ordered a meat pizza. My friends got the short rib entree. I liked my pizza. It came out quickly. Very big. I took half of it home. My friends didn't love the short rib entree. I was so excited to try this place. It's been on my list of places to go for a while and I was so disappointed. The garden has potential if it was well kept. I was first sat at a table that had bird poop on the cushion and a little bit on the table. The other table they transferred me to was wobbly, the cushions were dirty (all the cushions on chairs I saw were gross..) The waitress took about 15 to 20 minutes to approach me and the only reason why she came is because flagged her down. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and it was not good. As someone who had a Cooper's Hawk membership I could tell the difference in the wine. The food took so long. I told them box it up to go. Visited Emily's Garden today and was pleasantly surprised! The prices were great extremely affordable and food was delicious (even picky kids raved about the food). However, what stood out the most was the amazing service received by Yamila. She was knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, was personable and very friendly. First stop on a downtown Ft Lauderdale food tour, Emily's Garden is located near the Museum of Discovery and Science. The outdoor dining ambiance was superb, probably giving the term 'al fresco' the best representation I can remember. The two things served together were from the Italian side of the menu: a burrata, arugula salad and a really great arancini, served with a simple, but really good tomato sauce. Other things that added to the atmosphere were things like a converted Fiat that served gelato, and a vintage Piaggio Ape that houses an electric pizza oven. Our tour guide gave us more information about the history of the restaurant. The building is over 100 years old and had various business types reside in it. Previously to this restaurant two years ago, it used to be the Old Breakfast House, a beloved Fort Lauderdale institution. As for the name, our tour guide informed us that the owner's named the restaurant after the PREVIOUS owner's well loved dog, Emily. It was the last thing agreed that 'sealed the deal' for the transfer of ownership of the property, resulting in the Italian garden restaurant that we visited. read more

What a lovely location! Not too far from my Airbnb and a perfect place to start or end your day. In the morning, I had coffee by on the run coffee bar with a flaky and buttery croissant.. I love sitting by the sunshine and enjoying the greenery and the flowers and all the decorations here under the trees. For happy hour I enjoyed their five dollar drinks and five dollar bites! I started with a mimosa and moved onto a Pinot Noir accompanied by eggplant corn bites and truffle pizza bites! I hear there is live music on Saturday and Sunday during brunch. I arrived early for Beer, Wine and Spirit Festival in Ft. Lauderdale and decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. I hadn't gone far when I walked by this courtyard, shaded by trees, and just peeked with calm, tranquility, and serenity. Such sights are hard to find, at times, in the busy lifestyle of South Florida. I wasn't hungry or tired, but I felt the need to take a break and enjoy this relaxing vibe. I saw a place that served coffee, sat at a table close to it, and ordered the largest latte they had. And oh my Lord, I got my latte in soup bowl, and loved every sip of. We got some coffee to go and then came back after we were done for the museum. We got there just in time for happy hour. It was happy indeed! We ordered some red wine, a Bellini, and some delicious calamari and truffle bites. Lola and David were the best servers! They were so helpful and attentive. Lola was lovely and as a bonus point, she spoke Spanish like me :) Lola let us know that since we had visited the museum we got a free treat! I thought that was so nice and special. This is a really nice restaurant with pretty outdoor seating. It looks like lots of parents come here with their children because it's a pretty big space. The food is good. I had their grilled cheese, and it came with a side salad. I really liked the bread they used for it. For dessert, we tried the nutella focaccia, which was a great dessert if you love nutella. One thing that threw me off, however, was how disorganized the staff were. Everyone was friendly, but we had different servers coming to our table asking if we were ready to order when we already had. Also, one of the servers tried picking up a bee that was buzzing around on the ground with one of the plates. She then placed that same plate she had just scraped across the ground back on the table... Was a little shocked seeing that. Good restaurant. Paid Parking is street side. There is a pay-for parking lot not too far. It's not covered. We were a little confused on where to enter. On accident we walked into the patio area. I think we were drawn to it because of how beautiful it was decorated. We had to go around other tables and do a whole zigzag to get to the hostess. When we finally got there, the majority of the people were sitting outside. It was a beautiful day. I don't blame them. the inside had only a few people here and there. So, we're able to get pretty much whatever seat we wanted. We chose a large table that was near the window. They didn't have any booster seats available so we just went with the taller of the mix-and-match seats that were at the table we were in. We ended up going there for just a light bites. We shared a spinach quiche and a salmon spread. Everything was delicious. It all came out the kitchen very fresh and presented well. The staff was very kind and the restaurant was clean. Loved the eclectic vibe and the cute garden patio--wood-fired pizza oven, a coffee bar in a truck, and lots of little mix-and-match details that somehow all worked perfectly. We caught happy hour and ordered the mini meatballs and calamari, both served as bite-size appetizers. The mini meatballs were especially good--perfect little bites. Had mimosas as well. Everyone working this event was very friendly and always available to keep our water glasses full and would come by each table offering appetizers which was part of the reception. The food was only ok. We had a buffet style dinner that offered lasagna, breaded chicken breast, shrimp, potatoes, salad and beef. Maybe because it was a buffet style the food was overcooked. I got the poke bowl with quinoa (my girlfriend got it with rice). We were both stunned at how flavorless it was. That is NOT how poke is supposed to taste AT ALL. We also got the chips & guac, which may have been the worst I've ever had? I'm 100% sure the chips were just off-brand Tostitos purchased at a supermarket. The guacamole was so sour, watery and unpleasant. I got a pineapple and spinach juice. Honestly I think they used water instead of pineapple juice. This is the absolute cutest spot! I love the outdoor garden feel with all the vendors. They have plenty of tables, lttle bikes and a water/rock mining station for kids. I only went in to grab a coffee on the go. But it would definitely be a good spot to get brunch or happy hour. The atmosphere is perfect for the beautiful fall and winter weather in south Florida.
