They are grilled fresh and cooked well. Their teas are pretty normal, some of the flavored ones are powdered mixes or syrups, but for their hot and iced tea they do fresh brew it . They also have hot coffees and espressos. They have cute keychain and pins for sale. If you are in a science or healthcare related field, or majoring in sciences, don't sleep on the enamel pins. Would recommend for their well priced sets and specials - before 11am, you can get a breakfast set or you can opt for the All Day Sets which are more heavy in terms of portion size. We got two All Day Sets - which includes your choice of meal with a side salad and refreshing lightly sweetened Jasmine Green Tea. The beef was very well seasoned and flavorful, and the soy sauce noodles were also very savory with a nice crunch from the bean sprouts. They definitely don't skimp out on the carbs so expect leftover rice or noodles. We also got the steamed rice roll with shrimp which was also a very large portion, so we got full pretty quickly. The mango shaved ice was disappointing because the ice was very hard and not soft/fine. The mango was also very sour. I wish they asked us for sugar lev and ice level customizations for the milk teas. The taro was good but a little too sweet and the Thai was not sweet enough. The Thai flavor was also not there. My kids really like this place because of the cute decor. You cant miss the storefront even though its located on a small street because of the painted decor. The owner is very sweet and nice. There's a long banquette/bench style seating, smaller bistro sized tables meant for two, and a few stools. Surprisingly fits a decent amount of people. Fun fact, you can order food on an electronic kiosk or at the counter via a staff member. There are paper menus as well but if you want to see photos, try the kiosk. TLDR: Snack Mood is a solid HKish cafe off of Franny Lew by Gyro Corner. Skewers seem to be the jam but I'm a big fan of the breakfast sets. I'm not sure how or why I started coming here but it started with their lunch set. The black pepper beef was diced up nicely, rich and peppery but not overly cornstarchy. The mushrooms was a nice touch. I also tried the rice rolls and everything was good enough that I thought I'll come back one day. Since then I've tried most of the breakfast combos. There's the congee and cruller, rice rolls with fish balls and soup dumplings but my personal favorite? Wonton soup and stir-fried noodles. It's simple but it's not common to see on menus (usually it's paired with congee) and it's tasty. The wonton soup has the dried baby shrimp in it, a nice sheen of sesame oil and super thin wrappers. Don't sleep on the sticky rice either. I've not been back to lunch yet but definitely will. If you're looking for a full on meal OR a quick bite - Snack Mood is great. Soy sauce noodles: The wok hei is actually quite good hence noodle texture is good as well. For what it's worth I am fully aware this dish should be strong in soy sauce flavor. The first time we came here during the summer, we made the mistake of coming in the evening and they only served drinks until closing at 7:00PM . Breakfast is served from 9AM-10:30AM and lunch from 10:30AM-3:00PM. I was bummed and left wondering why they don't serve into the evening hours. Ever determined, I was going to try their food when the next opportunity came up. A couple of days before Thanksgiving, I had some free time for lunch and dragged my son out. They are a small operation and very busy from opening through the mealtimes, so I can't blame them for not serving into the evening. I'd be exhausted too. They do have an expansive menu for a small café. In the morning are the various Breakfast sets, which come with a hot drink. For lunch there are a variety of rice and noodle sets, fried chicken (popcorn, wings & fries), congee, steamed rice rolls and BBQ meat skewers. All these can be ordered and paid for at the kiosk when you walk in. There were already 3 people ordering ahead of us when we got there with 2 tables waiting for their food, so we waited a good 40+ minutes for ours. May, the owner behind the counter apologized for the long wait and even upgraded our tea drinks to large. Our Lunch sets came in small aluminum containers, but they were packed. My son's Spicy Pork Belly Rice wasn't very spicy, but had a lot of meat. My Garlic Shrimp & Bacon Alfredo was also packed tight and very flavorful. Both came with a small side salad and small Jasmine tea to complete the set. To supplement, we also ordered small lamb and fish tofu skewers and bubble teas, which we sat to eat at one of 8 small round tables. All this ran us over the $45 limited bonus offer, so we also qualified for a free order of Popcorn Chicken, which we took home. Love HK style cafes (茶餐廳) and want more of them to succeed. Ordered two breakfast items: set B and set D for takeout. Food. Pretty good! Set B's instant noodles were springy, with savory fried egg and nicely fried spam. Spam wasn't overly salty either so that was a big plus for me. The soup was rich and had umami. There was also a side of buttered soft toast came with the instant soup noodles, but it wasnt very memorable. Meal came with a drink, so I took a hot milk tea with it. I think this place just ok. Tried BBQ beef sticks, it just ok, feel like it's not as good as the one from Flushing street vendors. Also tried breakfast combo with stream rice rolls...all I can say is steam rice rolls is not what I expected, feel much difference vs other places, and not in a way that I like, also feel way too much vege at the bottom half of the tray and not enough actual rice roll.
