As a celiac and frequent traveller, I'm always on the lookout for gluten-free places. Usually the only celiac-safe option in many towns is a gluten-free bakery, so suffice to say, I've been to many gluten-free bakeries from New Zealand to Netherlands. I stopped by Revolution Bakery about an hour before closing and unfortunately they were all out of bread - but that's to be expected around closing time. I ended up getting a breakfast bar that contained egg and green chile and a personal-sized cherry chocolate bread pudding. There weren't prices posted which I hate. Please put prices on the case. Those two items together were $14.58!!! Unfortunately I wasn't offered a receipt so I'm not exactly sure the breakdown of the price of each item. Seating was only available outside of the bakery as it is a very small operation, which is fine. As someone from out of town, I didn't have a kitchen or anything, plus I wanted to eat the breakfast bar immediately. I wasn't asked if I wanted the food warmed up and just assumed they would be room temperature, which is fine. Unfortunately the breakfast bar was ice cold. I definitely didn't enjoy eating ice cold hard boiled egg in the breakfast bar. It was so disappointing that at this price point, there just wasn't care from the staff to even warn me that the breakfast bar needed to basically thaw before being eaten. Prices need to be displayed and receipts offered by staff automatically, prices are one-off treat level, not affordable enough to be a weekly option for a celiac and lastly, food should be offered to be warmed up if they're going into the case frozen or refrigerated. Amazing gluten free breads and pasteries with clearly labeled ingredients! I highly recommend this bakery. I stopped in twice while I was in town. The bread is normal texture and flavor, the parries and doughnuts are so delicious. This is a walk in, order and pick up bakery. There are tables to eat at outside of bakery in shopping center. I took my treats back to the Airbnb to enjoy for the week and Stegner stopped back in for treats to take on the roadtrip home. read more

There was a long line extending out the door and we were excited thinking how hard it is to find a gf bakery that bakes treats that taste good. We were a little disappointed though. They didn't have any of the items written on their dry erase board. We were hoping to taste the Cardamom Fig loaf and scones but settled for quiche (grainy), lemon bars (not enough lemon or sugar), pound cake (relatively good but Paul Hollywood would say it was stodgy and a brownie (a little dry). They actually had vegan options which was fantastic because I went to a few other places in the area looking for vegan loafs and they all had egg in them which was super disappointing. I also got the vegan chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies which were pretty tasty and flavorful. The staff were friendly enough, it wasn't a very long interaction. Just a quick in and out. Two days was not enough days... I made it to Revolution late in our trip (seriously, what's wrong with me...!?) and I'm just sorry I didn't make this my absolute first stop in Santa Fe. Our first visit we got the original chai (cold), blueberry muffins (what the fluffy, flavorful heaven is in those things, Dion!?!), and I got a plain croissant and cinnamon roll. I mean - literal tears came to my eyes when I bit into that croissant. GF pastries will never have the crisp from lamination (nor do I expect it), but I'm telling you, the flavor is Spot. On. It legit tastes like the buttery bliss that is a croissant from your dreams. (PS: they also sell chocolates for those is need). Oh, and the cinnamon roll what the best GF one I've ever had. The spice was BOMB! The center was ooey gooey. Oh, hear come the tears again... Second visit I got another muffin - this time raspberry, a raspberry glazed donut, a bottle of blue jasmine tea, and a pre-made Turkey sandwich. I literally moaned when I ate that donut #noshame. I don't even think I can describe the experience I had eating that donut, so just go grab one and have it yourself! The muffin was - no surprise - also incredible. Wife asked for a hot Chai latte and they made one from scratch. She really enjoyed it. I also purchased a loaf of Rye bread to bring home and share with my father who has Celiac. OMG - it's like no GF bread I've EVER had before. You guys - HOW?!? That's all I kept thinking as I enjoyed my delicious hummus sammy. Thrilled to find a gem like Revolution Bakery in Santa Fe. We enjoyed a taste of their bread while dining at La Boca in the Plaza, and visited the following day to pick up a couple of loaves for ourselves. I snagged one of their delicious breakfast bars (eggs, cheese, green chile, bacon, GF pastry shell) while visiting, which they heated up and served warm. As a symptomatic celiac it's such a treat to find a fully gluten free bakery! Suffice it to say I will be returning bi-weekly to pick up loaves of their delicious bread and baked goods. read more

Amazing pastry assortment and service! The food is the best gf that I have had, especially the cinnamon roll.

Just spent $30 on four items (breakfast bar, h&c croissant, brownie and lemon bar). None of the items were even palatable, and none of them seemed particularly fresh. Counter help was less than friendly. I realize that being a gluten free (and whatever else "free") bakery comes with its own challenges, but one shouldn't have to sacrifice taste along with everything else. I try to support small local and alternative business, but I will not be returning to Revolution Bakery. It's interesting that I recall having sampled their products at some point in the past and reaching the same conclusion, but decided to give them another try. Never again. read more

This is 100% gluten free. So no concerns about cross contamination - hooray!! As is much of Santa Fe, the bakery was a little hard to find because it is in a small mall. Enter the mall and turn left. You will then see it on your right hand side. We went early since bakeries always run out as it gets later in the day. Still, we bought the last loaf of sourdough bread and 4 out of 6 cinnamon rolls. Some other options wee already sold out. There are limited choices for a 100% GF bakery. We also bought pesto rolls, scones, a croissant, chocolate chip cookies and oat bars. The rolls, bread and croissant were great! The cookies and oat bars were good - the gluten people didn't know the difference. The scones were very dry. Whomever I spoke with, to ask about an order for a wake, was very short with me, cut me off, and did not want to be helpful and answer a question before hanging up on me. Bad enough that I signed into Yelp to leave a review and I haven't done that in years. If you arent free to speak to your customers, don't answer the phone...? When in Santa Fe! Because we all know if y'all were in Albuquerque I'd be here almost every day!! I originally heard about this bakery from Instagram and I had to stop by when I was in town, and it did NOT disappoint. I brought home the gluten free lemon tart and the gluten free / vegan berry cobbler. The lemon tart has a cheesecake pudding-ish texture to it with a crumble like crust, so good! & the vegan berry cobbler reminds me more of a muffin more than a cobbler but still delicious nonetheless! The bakery itself decor was so quaint, cute, and clean - I loved it! Also I felt they were reasonably priced. Being someone who is allergic to gluten it is hard to find places that accommodate but when we do find the places that do, we hold them near & dear to our heart & this is one of them! read more

Um. If you're trying to lose weight don't go here! Since going gf, I don't really miss breads and cookies but this place could lure me back! It is a dedicated GF bakery with coffee, espresso and specialty teas. There are also multiple loaf bread options available daily. So far this week, we've devoured the banana muffin (truly divine), the mixed berry muffin, the golden milk cookie, the chocolate/toffee shortbread cookie, the quiche (didn't reheat evenly but great flavor), the egg bites mini breakfast loaf (croissant style)and the coconut cookie/macron and the sourdough bread. The only thing we wouldn't reorder is the coconut cookie. Everything else is perfection! read more

I placed An online order for Friday pickup. The owner was at the drive up window. She did not greet me when I pulled up. I however did say hello and was very cheerful. She did not smile. She did not ask if she could help me. She did not verify my order. She did not thank me for my patronage. She only said thank you when I gave her $5 for the tip jar. (It's not the employees fault the owner doesn't understand customer service.) I got the impression that my patronage was an annoyance and inconvenience to her. The brioche and the focaccia are the same dough and both were dry. The baguette, which is really a demi baguette, was not good. It was dry as well. All three breads had an aftertaste that was less than pleasant. My dining partner was disappointed as well. I always seek out vegan establishments when I'm in a new city. My husband and I got there right when it opened...I could tell by the way the pastries were stored they'd been refrigerated. I tried 2 offerings...the raspberry and orange scone and the blue berry oat bar. I believe the flour used was rice. The texture was mealy and had little to no sweetness [possibly due to agave or other low sugar sweetner]. I took one bite of each and tossed them. My husband had a cherry bear claw gf but not vegan. His had a but more sweetness, but the pastry again was mealy. As a vegan chef, certified culinarian and Nutritionist [registered] I understand the need for alternatives for those facing celiac disease. I've baked for clients who require gf options. I've always given kudos to businesses like this, but for the price [$18 for 3 pastries] the quality should be MUCH better. read more

I have been curious about Revolution Bakery and this morning decided to walk over for a sweet treat. I couldn't be happier I did! I tried to restrain myself to only an apple fritter (delicious, perfectly sweet without being too sweet and a lovely light texture. This is not your typical fritter texture) but then saw the chocolate cake doughnuts and splurged (they were rich, again perfectly balanced sweetness, and had a rich flavor that almost felt like cinnamon was added). The prices are high, but the quality is too. Everything is gluten free, and being a gluten eater I was curious to see what the texture would be like and both sweets were beautiful. The owner is super nice and you can tell she has a real passion for her craft. I was in the area for work & wanted a sweet treat to power me through the rest of my day. Searched Yelp & found this cute little place. First of all, it's an adorable little bakery nestled in a small shopping strip off the beaten path. As I approached the door, the intoxicating smell of all the delicious baked goods immediately had my attention. I walked in & was greeted by who I later found out was the owner, Dion. She helped me navigate the menu & find what I wanted, which was a dirty chai, a moist & chocolate-y brownie & a lemon bar with the perfect ratio of sweetness to tang. Everything was delicious! The best part is that it's all gluten & GMO free with vegan options! As a cook myself, it is not an easy feat to make gluten & GMO free dishes, let alone vegan, be edible & leave people begging for more. Kudos to the owner for cracking the code! Review I really was so excited to order a cake from them for a friends birthday. When I arrived They had no idea I had even ordered a cake. They gave me a random cake it seemed, with no writing (which I had ordered). They put my cake in a sheet pan cake box so the cake slid all around and it smooshed the icing. The writing they put on it looked completely amateur as it was done rushed at the last minute. I could've just done it myself. The people working were nice and I don't think they are to be blamed for any of this. I wrote a complaint with my email and they responded to me via Instagram. Making the experience extremely weird and personal. They took screenshots of their security camera and insisted I was lying about how long I waited. But the screenshots weren't even accurate. When I pointed this out they never responded to me and left me on read. The wait time wasn't even my main complaint. They also informed me I could get a refund if I returned the cake intact. They offered no replacement. If I return the cake then my friend will have no cake at all. With tip I spent $65 for this cake. The entire experience was unprofessional and disappointing. I'm honestly sad about this. It's been 19 hours and they still have not responded to me. As a person who has worked in the service industry customer service can make or break a business. If you're going to go buy a cookie that's fine but if you want something special I would really recommend going elsewhere. read more

Amazingness! So two things - they have scones and beignets, which I have not seen at a gluten free bakery before (and I've been to many). The blueberry scone I had was incredible and I didn't even remember liking any scone before this. Highly recommend for gluten free baked goods! read more

This is my update to a review posted a few years back. I am grateful for Revolution Bakery, to have a place where I can safely eat delicious bread and treats that have no gluten. I never get sick from anything I buy there. During the pandemic, there was only one take-out day a week, and I was grateful for that because it was hard to get staff and supplies. A lot of places gave up. When the RB owner, Dionne, badly injured her arm I was afraid she would close down. But the restaurant is open again at The Design Center until mid-pm Tues-Sat. RB's Apricot-Fennel-Walnut Boule now is my favorite bread in the world and I love the quiches and the sandwiches offered through lunch. I'm not going to list my other favorite items at this time because they sometimes run out of them before I can get there :) read more

Very tasty breads - especially toasted and smeared with butter. Also tried a variety of pastries. While pretty good, the rice flour used made it's presence known in the scones and cinnamon rolls. We will go back when visiting Santa Fe in future. Great gluten free pastries not made with Manini's flour are hard to come by outside of the northwest. read more

As a disclaimer, the gluten free fad, seemingly oriented toward empty-brained New-Agey types, is a pet peeve of mine. If you don't have celiac disease or a gluten allergy/gluten sensitivity, don't make your life, and the lives of others, more difficult and expensive by attempting to completely cut out gluten. Now that I'm off my soapbox, I'll say that this is a great place for not only gluten-free options, but vegetarian, vegan, soy-free, and dairy-free options, if this is necessary or preferred. In addition to being good for those with dietary restrictions, the food tastes good; it's not just good..."for a place that's gluten free." Whoever is in charge of the recipes really knows how to take advantage of the tastes and textures of different flour types. I've had a scone from here, as well as the "deep dish" pizza. The scone was solid, and the pizza tasted good, although it was nothing like Chicago-style deep dish. It was more like a really really tasty and moist thick piece of bread that had a little bit of a grainy texture with pizza toppings on it (good pesto, goat cheese, and tomatoes in my case). I also really like that I can order a ginger matcha tea latte here, although I wish that drinks here came in more sizes, rather than just large, since I usually prefer 8-12 oz beverages. Like the flour types, this place has every type of milk you'd want (dairy, soy, almond, rice, coconut, and flax). The prices are a little bit more expensive, but considering that everything is made fresh daily, and ingredient costs are higher since this is a specialized bakery, they're not unreasonable. The ambience is no frills with metal tables and chairs. It is also bus your own dishes. It's sparse is a charming loft-ish way, at least to me. I wish this place were open later, as its not practical for me to go here unless it's a day off or Saturday, since they close at 2pm. read more

I was really disappointed in my experience with this bakery... I ordered a special gluten free dairy free cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Well, when my dad got there to pick it up, he was told that the cake was not dairy free. I was busy preparing food for the party and couldn't really talk about it, but I didn't want to be left without a cake at all. The woman there offered three vegan mini cobblers for us, but turns out she made us pay an additional $30 for them. So the bill came out to $100 and only half of the people there could eat the cake. Oh, not to mention, the cake was baby pink!! Even though I told her this was a grown man's birthday party! When I went in there to ask for a refund and to rectify the situation, I was told that she "didn't like being threatened" and would give me a half of a refund if I came back with half the cake... The reason why I was so upset is because I went out of my way to get a cake that I could eat, and then I ended up not being able to. I am really disappointed that they wouldn't even work with me to fix the problem... Will not be going back. read more

I happened to be wandering around downtown Albuquerque one day when I stumbled across this stall at the local Growers Market. I'm sure I gorged myself on free samples before deciding on a loaf of mock-rye and a half-loaf of cinnamon raisin. Both were truly amazing in taste AND texture. The savory mock-rye (also vegan) was full of caraway seeds and the cinnamon raisin loaf was a dream straight out of my childhood. But oh, the texture! So chewy and moist. It didn't even need to be toasted. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WAS GLUTEN-FREE. That's how good it was. Sadly, I don't live in New Mexico. Otherwise, I would have more than bread to write about (Vegan Reuben? What?!). But if you're in the area (dietary restrictions or not) this place is definitely worth a visit. I'm not sure if the other reviewers are just used to gluten-free pastries but I wasn't a big fan. We got the croissant, blackberry scone, sticky bun and French brioche. Everything was pretty dry and bland. The sticky bun was the best mainly because it had a lot of sugar coating it. But, this may just be the case for all gluten free pastries, so if you generally like (or have to eat) gluten-free, this may be good quality for that category! So the main reason for the 2 stars is that the customer service is really unavailable - you can't call to talk to anyone, and they advise you to text a number that no one responds to. I was told that I would receive a text when my order was ready, which I never did, so I was unclear on whether I could come pick up my order. When I texted the number to ask, they simply told me pickup was until 1 PM without really answering my question as to whether my specific order was ready. If others are wondering, once you pre-order, you should be able to pickup anytime in their time window. read more

Hands down the best 100% gluten free bakery/cafe I've had the pleasure of visiting. Ever. Being from Dallas we have a fair amount of gluten free dining options but NOTHING like Revolution Bakery. When my mother (non celiac) and I (celiac) walked in, we were blown away by the delightful aroma of fresh baking goodies which is typically the same smell of sadness and regret I have grown accustom to any time I walk past a regular bakery. Not this time!!! Being 100% gluten free I did not have to worry about cross contamination! As we walked up to the counter an employee asked if we wanted the rundown on all the baked goods they had on display (all with samples to try). There were gf cinnamon rolls, sticky buns with house made caramel, pumpkin bread, banana but muffins, breakfast muffins, vanilla cup cakes, and many many more bread like items that I can't remember. We ordered the cinnamon roll, sticky bun, and breakfast muffin. The roll and the bun were our favorites. Warm, sticky and sweet. Possibly the best gf baked items I've ever had. The breakfast muffin was good but would have been better hot than warm. Once we finished up my mother went up to the counter to inform them how much we enjoyed the food and that she has been baking gf cinnamon rolls for years and can't get the same spongy texture. Guess what? One of the bakers pulls out their recipe book and goes over the ingredients with my mom to see how close her recipe is to theirs. This is the kind of customer service and friendliness that you just can't find anymore. Revolution Bakery, we love y'all and wish you success!!!
