This place is soo good and soo fun! My family was visiting South Dakota for the week, and this coffee/milkshake shop was only about 5 minutes from the house we were staying at so we HAD to check it out! I'm so glad we did! Between a Matcha Milkshake with a rice krispy and fruity pebbles, an orange frozen lemonade, a cosmic brownie milkshake and more, it was a hit for everyone. The inside is also super cool! This is a severely hidden gem of a restaurant/coffee and shake place. It's one of the few eccentric places anywhere near Deadwood/Lead. Super friendly service here. The quesadilla is good. The cosmic brownie shake is to die for. I don't intake a lot of sugar but this shake is amazing! I love the quirkiness of this establishment versus every other establishment here. Highly recommended. We stopped in, for the first time, Sunday morning. We both got the steak and cheese burrito to go. Lots of fun shopping to explore while waiting. Some second hand clothes to check out. Funky sunglasses and jewelry. The burritos are grilled and easily hand-held. So good! We also got coffee ($2) and tea. Very good. We'll return to experience the shake/malt menu. What a great find! We had fun looking through the joint and finding all the fun treasures. But the coffee shakes, oh my word, I have never had anything like it and will crave one until I get back. What coffee shops were before Starbucks got popular. Berkeley, CA vibes in Lead, SD. Super chill, cute, and funky little place to grab a quick snack. I highly recommend this place if you have kids and are you're staying across the street at the Hilton Hotel. They have retro video games, air hockey, and chess all for free. The interior is also super unique, think oddity shop. Death Cab for Cutie singing TLCs Waterfalls. Food - think after school snacks, nachoes, Mac N Cheese, sandwiches, and burritos. They also have a wide selection of coffee drinks, coffee flavors, milkshakes, and lemonade. I personally had a grill peanut butter sando and a cinnamon milkshake, both were delicious. read more

Ordered an Americano. Don't expect fresh ground beans here, the barista scooped some pre-ground coffee and put it in one of the Breville home use espresso machines, and pulled a shot, the dial of the pressure gauge did not even move... and he pushed the button AGAIN to brew the same puck of coffee... this is ridiculous, he then added some water to the cup to make it into a full cup, this is the worst cup of coffee EVER. It tasted like water down Folger. I then read the news report about when they opened, the owner was inspired by Seattle coffee shops. Did he even taste his own coffee from his own shop? the barista has no clue how to pull a shot out of a home edition BREVILLE. Watch some YouTube videos, there are plenty out there. Take pride in your work. I've never seen anything so low standard in my life. read more

Hidden treasure! You would never know it's there, as it's tucked away but you need to try it for yourself. The atmosphere is wonderful, owner is very friendly, and all the milkshakes are so tasty. My family and I have gone several times and were satisfied every time! They have a fun theme going on with games and music to enjoy. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed. I stopped in for coffee only to be pleasantly surprised that they had matcha, too. The man working the front desk, who turned out to be the owner, greeted me right away even though he was busy cleaning behind the counter. I asked about some of the menu and he was happy to answer my questions. Their staff has always been nice, and the owner has a passion for making sure his customers have a good experience. Hole in the wall type of place you wouldn't stop in if you didn't know possibly unless you wanted coffee. The spot is so much more. We had lunch here which was excellent and reasonably priced. We had frozen drinks which was a nice treat after on ATV all morning until 1PM. They also have craft items for sale. I can't speak to the coffee however everything else was outstanding. So you walk to the discreet door and open it. You then see double doors with marker tagging all over them. This suggests this coffee is valid as heck. Once you open the door you will see some interesting people watching youtube videos with kids. The place looks like it has good coffee. The problem is the coffee is not good. I went with a safe bet, vanilla latte. Thinking for sure they can't mess this up. Well, then I watched them make the coffee and I thought, oh lawd, what have I gotten myself into? I don't even know how to make a latte, but I damn sure know that it aint this way. So, after I received my cup and donated my $8 for my son and my coffee, I took my first sip. I thought, "wow, this is bad." Then I thought, "maybe it will grow on me?" After five sips I knew this coffee wouldn't grow on me at all. My son's coffee was equally as bad. He said it tastes like milk and dirty water. So happily we tossed them in the Starbucks trash in Deadwood, got new coffee, and our day improved. I hate to write this because I support locals, but golly, this local needs to start a different business. Ciao. read more
