Even the lunch crowd is heavy. Seafood is the specialty of the house so try to order at least one dish with seafood. I highly recommend the aguachile especially if you love heat, if you can't handle chili avoid this appetizer. Javier's, located inside the Aria, came highly recommended by a good friend of mine--and let me just say... they absolutely knew what they were talking about. When I arrived, there was already a long line and a packed restaurant, which is usually a great sign. I'll also admit something about myself: I'm not really a "sit at the bar" person. Whether I'm dining alone or with friends, I'm almost always going to choose a booth or a table. However... I was hungry enough that the bar was going to have to do. As busy as the restaurant was, I was greeted and served almost immediately. I wish I had gotten my server's name because everyone working behind the bar was incredibly attentive and genuinely kind. Great service is appreciated anywhere, but it's even more impressive in a place like Las Vegas, where the pace never seems to slow down. Despite the constant crowd, they never made me feel rushed. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always appreciated, but I'm definitely more of a guacamole girl, so I had to order a side of guac as well. For my drink, I ordered the Guayaba. I'll preface this by saying I'm an extra super-duper lightweight when it comes to alcohol, so what I consider "strong" may be perfectly normal for someone else. I definitely had to babysit that drink, but I also have to give credit where it's due--you could tell it was made with quality liquor. It wasn't just strong for the sake of being strong; it was well-crafted and balanced. For my entrée, I ordered the lobster enchiladas, and let me just pause right there... I'm actually pretty picky about enchiladas because they're one of those dishes that not everyone gets right. So I don't order them very often. These? Absolutely off the chain. They were rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best restaurant meals I had during my Vegas trip. At one point, I seriously considered ordering another serving to take home on the plane... and then I realized that might've been just a little extra. Of course, I couldn't stop there. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and I genuinely need to know who made that rice because it tasted like somebody's mom was back in the kitchen making sure everybody was fed. It had that homemade comfort-food quality that you just don't come across very often. What impressed me most is that Javier's doesn't rely solely on being located in one of the busiest hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Sometimes restaurants in high-profile locations can become more about the atmosphere than the food. That is not the case here. The food absolutely lives up to the reputation. Stopped by here for a quick night cap and ended up ordering the seafood empanadas. The food came out piping hot and fresh. The empanadas were full of meat and flavor which was very satisfying. Our bartender was very nice and gave us time to look at the menu and was patient with me while I asked questions about the items listed. This restaurant is tucked away in a casino so it may seem busy on the outside but the vibes are nice at the bar. Definitely recommend this place for delicious food and strong drinks! WOW! Having never heard of this restaurant until recently, I was skeptical as I thought Amaya (also in Vegas) was the best Mexican food I had ever tasted. Turns out Amaya has some competition! Javier's and Amaya are tied, in my opinion, as so e of the best Mexican food out there. Yes, I am aware these restaurants are not considered "authentic" Mexican but I do not care as I do not find authentic Mexican food all that great. Javier's and Amaya are what I would call modern, upscale Mexican cuisine. Here's what to expect: high quality ingredients, very flavorful and the food is light, not heavy. The portions aren't small but they are nit huge either. They are a decent portion for what you pay. The ambiance and design are absolutely beautiful and the service (at least in this location) is excellent. If I had one complaint it would be the noise level. I found this location to be EXTREMELY loud. I could barely talk and hear my family members at the table. Other than that, it was an amazing experience and I can't wait to try the new Pasadena location! It is ala carte so you need to order rice and tortillas on the side. I didn't need to as I shared with my wife as she ordered the steak fajitas that came with beans and tortillas. Next time would order some rice as well. It does come with a price tag that I felt a side of rice should have been included. We were able to save a small space for dessert and ordered the flan. It's definitely one of the best flan I have ever had. It was different as it was much denser than I have had before. It was so good I know I will definitely order again! They also included a lil ice cream with the flan for birthday celebration. This is my only complaint and why I gave four stars and not five. I had ordered a Diet Coke it was served in a small glass bottle. When I was asked if I would like another I said yes please, it was not mentioned to me that it would be an additional charge (other location has same small glass bottle and no charge was added) I guess I should have asked but at $9.00 I didn't expect to be charged another $9.00. I decided to get the scallops. They were probably some of the worst scallops I had in my life. For almost $60. They were SUPER salty and tasted like they were sauteed with fishtank water. The creamy sauce didn't compliment them either. Live and learn, I suppose. I didn't even eat but one of them b/c I could not stand them. My friend tried it as well and said they were pretty gross. Our server, I believe his name was Eric, was attentive and amazing as well. We were seated in the back of the restaurant at a booth and a family came in shortly after us with a dog not a service dog, but one of those really big poodles and sat them right beside us. My husband and bff have really bad pet allergies so after making our server aware of this and requesting to move, he actually came and moved the family with the dog which alone gives him 5 stars. Always a hit. I discovered another go-to: the flat iron steak. It's thick, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to a T. The refried beans were also phenomenal: Creamy, smooth, and well seasoned. I didn't care much for the fries and the guac is solid here. My only complaint: the actual flat iron cut. It's a long piece, but the grain is top-down on the short side. When you cut the meat into pieces from top down, it's very chewy. And it's practically impossible to cut the meat length-wise, against the grain without tearing everything up and making a mess of the steak.
