This Mexican restaurant inside Encore is absolutely beautiful--the atmosphere and interior are definitely one of its strongest points. Unfortunately, the service felt very disorganized and confusing. We had reservations, but one employee told us we would need to wait four hours. Then another said she could seat us, while someone else confirmed that we already had a reservation. We were honestly standing there wondering what was going on. The staff seemed nice enough, but there definitely needs to be better communication and training when it comes to handling reservations and seating guests. The food was decent overall, but not as impressive as I expected for a restaurant at Encore. The enchiladas were a little strange and not really to my taste, and the lamb was mediocre. On the positive side, the salad was extremely fresh and tasty, and the yellowtail tartare was very good. Overall, it's a gorgeous restaurant with a great setting, but the service organization and consistency of the food could use some improvement. read more

Went over the weekend for an anniversary celebration and WOW. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff and service we received was absolutely impeccable. I have a rather odd food allergy and the server teamed with other staff and made sure there were no issues. The team all seemed to highly care about my well-being and it was appreciated. They made our special day feel extra special by giving us both a glass of champagne and the tres leches cake on the house. Multiple staff wished us happy anniversary and seemed genuinely happy for us. As a lesbian couple there have been times in past years at other restaurants where we did not feel celebrated or even very welcome, so the staff's warmth here was extra special. The food was delicious overall. We started with the guacamole and squash tamal. The guacamole is solid and the chips were very fresh. The squash tamal has amazing flavor with just a hint of heat and was the star of the starters. I had the half roasted tamarind chicken and was very happy with my choice. So flavorful, juicy and a very large portion. This is a good main to share with someone. My wife had the short rib and could not stop raving about how good it was. We also had the green rice and cucumber salad for sides. The green rice was more flavorful when heated up the next day, but still good at dinner as well. The only item we could have done without was the cucumber salad. It is good if you want something light though. Can't wait to go back to Casa Playa. read more

We were in the mood for Mexican food and we heard that this was a good place to go to. It is located at the Wynn & Encore Resort. The vibe is a stunning, high energy restaurant with cascading marigolds and vibrant colors thruout. We loved the gorgeous decor and the look! Our server, Stanley, was excellent, friendly and attentive thruout. We both ordered the same thing: Chicken Tinga Enchiladas and an Adults Only tequila drink. Our drinks were very good but unfortunately our main was disappointing. It simply didn't taste very good . The flavor was off. We ate it anyway because we were hungry and in a hurry to get to the Backstreet Boys concert at the Sphere. We didn't have time to wait for a redo of our meal. Have always had a pleasant time whenever I dine at Casa Playa- everyone is friendly, atmosphere is fun, entrance is gorgeous, and it almost feels like you really are transported to a coastal luxurious destination for great reasons. To be honest, there are times that I do wish the food has a tad more salt or sprinkles of extra flavors, but everything still gets eaten and very much so enjoyed. We had a great experience at Casa Playa. The service was excellent and every member of the staff inside the restaurant was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed margaritas and their smoked tequila old fashioned. The decor and ambiance is whimsical and fun, and they even have small chairs for the your purses which adds a fun and thoughtful touch! We enjoyed the pork tacos for the table and found it to be plenty of food for 3 and the potatoes were delicious as well. The only reason this was not a 5 star experience was the rudeness of the greeters. We walked up without a reservation at about 6:30 and asked to be seated and were told nothing was available until 9 even thought the website was showing many open reservations. We stepped to the side and made a reservation and we were then able to be sat around 7pm. The start of our interaction with the greeters initially turned us off from the restaurant, but thankfully the experience inside was much better. read more

I may have been a little too intoxicated to fully appreciate my meal at Casa Playa in Vegas. I was especially excited to try it since the chef is a James Beard Award winner. We started with the guacamole, which was a solid way to kick things off. I ordered the short rib, but it was a bit more cooked than I would have preferred. My friend, on the other hand, really enjoyed her lamb birria. My cocktail was absolutely delicious, and the oysters were good, though they didn't particularly stand out. Decided to have girls night out at Casa Playa. This was a great decision as everything was delicious!we started the evening with the "Adults Only" cocktail served with a champagne boba shooter, was the perfect start to our appetizer forward dinner. Tasty chips and guacamole arrived. Then all three appetizers arrived to the table at the same time, shrimp ceviche, octopus and the kampachi. Each dish was absolutely delicious! We probably would have ordered more, but since it was not coursed out and arrived at the same time we became full very quickly. Our server was an absolute delight and the water glasses were filled often, which makes us happy since it was 111° outside. He was very attentive. Fabulous place to eat inside the Wynn Encore. Beautifully decorated with marigold flowers and statues. Not your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation. Winner of my latest Vegas trip, this place was absolutely excellent!!! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the flavor concepts. Really top notch service. The ambiance was what I have come to expect from a "New Mexican" joint, but it made for a nice energy and felt lively. The food and drinks were out of this world though! I had myself a nice tiki drink to accompany an array of excellent seafood. The table favorite was the delicious seafood tower, it only closely followed by the calamari which was in this savory and super spicy poblano paste that was to die for. Then I had the Tilefish for my entree, but we all agreed the Branzino was the best entree on the table. All of it was excellent tho! In search of a lunch spot that didn't require us to leave the hotel and venture outside into the 100 degree heat, we came across Casa Playa in the lobby of the Wynn where we were attending a conference. While the restaurant appeared to only offer a brunch and dinner menu, we were informed that we could still order off the brunch menu. After putting our names down, we were seated right away. The dining room itself was spacious, and the decor was whimsical and eye catching; vibrant flowers seemed to rain down from the ceiling. Upon being seated, we quickly placed our orders - we shared some chips and guac - and I ordered the frijoles de olla as my main dish. To start off, the chips and guac really hit the spot. The guac was creamy with a slight kick from the sliced peppers, and the chips tasted fresh and homemade. I wasn't as much of a fan of the frijoles de olla; the sauce was too sweet, especially paired with the rich ricotta cheese filling. I think the menu would be strengthened by offering more savory options to cater to the lunch crowd. read more

For example the queso fundido with chorizo was wonderful and tortillas hand made but no salsa provided to add a bit flavor or spice. Delicious with tortillas but could use a little lemon, cream or salsa if you turn it into a taco. Tres leches was wonderful. I ate lunch here earlier this week. I am not sure if the experience would have been better at night but I don't think I'll ever chance trying to find out. In town for business as I often am and had lunch at Casa Playa. At one point someone at our table asks if there can be no stars. My response was, this restaurant is beautiful so it will get one star for that. The majority of the negative review is based on the service...and a little on the food. You should be aware that they close the lunch kitchen at 1p. With a noon reservation that meant shortly after ordering our food at 12:45. The waitress asked us if we wanted to order desert because the kitchen was closing. Mind you we just ordered the food and nothing had come to the table yet. During lunch they only have one dessert which is churro. Finally we agreed to order a churro dessert. Of course before our meals came out someone came over to the table with churros. Terrible. They took them back and eventually the food came about 1:15. The food: we had apps of ceviche and salad and guacamole. The salad was fine. It was fine. A few people ordered the Chilaquiles. Everyone said they were spicy the could only stand a few bites. I actually ordered eggs with smashed potatoes and chicken sausage. I liked the sausage. The eggs had no seasoning and the potatoes were overdone and flavorless. But unseasoned food and dessert before the entrees were NOTHING compared to our rude ass waitress that I will not even call out because maybe she had a bad day. From the start everything we asked for was a problem for her and you would know it because if you can eye-roll as had as she was the entire time you would easily make yourself dizzy. We asked for a cocktail menu, tha was net with a sigh and an eye-roll. We asked for just about anything and what we received was an eye-roll. Getting explained about the kitchen closing and why the drinks were taking long. It was a bad day a bad experience. It was all bad. Except for the fact they had Fortaleza. That was great. I was a bit surprised there was no complimentary salsa service, they charge $20 for salsa but they do make it tableside for you. The octopus dish was a 3/5 in my opinion. Located at the Wynn, Casa Playa is described as 'Coastal Mexican" cuisine. My first visit was back in early 2022 and I wasn't too big of a fan. Now four years later, their menu was revamped (to me) and it was a much better experience. Unfortunately, they were running behind that night. We had our reservation booked for 7pm but didn't get seated until about 7:30pm. Thank goodness for their beautiful entrance. Perfect to take your social media/Instagram content. My husband and I ordered the following: HOUSEMADE GUACAMOLE $19: wish this was made tableside but it was not. Flavoring was alright....could use a bit more salt and spice. Portion was fine, it's good for only two people though. MEXICAN BLUE SHRIMP CEVICHE $29: this was fantastic! I would totally order this as an entree. This dish was refreshing, full of flavor. AMERICAN WAGYU SHORT RIB SUADERO $59: another dish that can be shared between two adults. Wagyu short rib melts in your mouth, meat was so juicy. Come with a side of salsa verde, onions and cilantro as well as shishito peppers. We were able to make about four tacos with plenty of meat left over. Delicious! We also ordered a cocktail and a mocktail. Just tried Casa Playa at the Wynn--new coastal Mexican spot that's straight-up gorgeous. The vibe? Chic, breezy, like Baja met Vegas luxury: think orange flower chandeliers, lush palms, and that massive stone head greeting you at the door. Casa Playa (at the Encore) is one of the most standout restaurant experiences we've had in Vegas thus far. I'm not surprised as I just learned the Executive Chef Sarah Thompson received the 2026 James Beard Award for Best Chef. The last time a Las Vegas Chef won in this category was in 2011. What we noticed about Casa Playa is it has more of a youthful scene. We exclusively stay at the Wynn so we're used to more of a mature crowd. That being said the music Casa Playa played was right up my alley (à la Rufus Du Sol) which instantly put me in a good mood. For dinks, we started off with some Perrier-Jouët which is one of my favorite champagnes, but we wanted to expand our palate for our second round of drinks. The sommelier Nicholas was fantastic! He gave us a generous amount of time helping us decide and learn more about the champagne world. I was truly touched by his passion and guidance. For food we had their housemade guacamole, gem lettuce salad and half roasted tamarind chicken. Everything was fantastic but their chicken was some of the best chicken we've ever had and it came with homemade tortillas. My husband and I rarely enjoy chicken and prefer red meat, but this stopped us dead in our tracks. We learned they marinate the chicken which yields incredible flavor and tenderness. We would have stayed longer to experience more of what they offer but had to head out for an event. This is one of those restaurants I must make room to dine at everytime we're in Vegas. read more

I'm only writing this in hopes that someone in management might consider revisiting the chilaquiles recipe. Unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable chilaquiles dishes I've ever had. The bowl was filled almost entirely with tortilla chips covered in salsa, while eggs, protein, and even avocado were all additional charges. If 80% of the chips were removed and replaced with eggs or a more substantial topping, I think the dish would be much more balanced. I don't mind paying extra for protein, but it felt wasteful to serve such a large quantity of chips. Realistically, who can finish an entire bag of corn chips for breakfast? My favorite chilaquiles are more like a hearty, flavorful stew over lightly crisped chips, where the ingredients come together as a complete dish. This version felt more like chips drenched in green salsa than a thoughtfully prepared breakfast. That said, everything else about our experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, and our servers were attentive, friendly, and delightful. I'm sharing this feedback simply because I believe this dish has the potential to be much better. read more

I'm always hesitant of American Mexican food, and to add matters, fancy Americanized Mexican food. I really like my taco shops and hole in the walls. But Casa Playa really surprised me. We did a family style share and ordered a whole bunch of stuff. A ton of cocktails, a ton of appetizers, entrees and some dessert. It was for my friends 40th birthday celebration. For apps, we got fire roasted salsa, guacamole, a salad, blue shrimp ceviche, a salad cheese fundido. That ceviche was amazing. It actually tasted like aguachile. My favorite app of the night. For entrees we got the branzino, chicken enchiladas and short rib suadero. The branzino was delicious. Perfectly flavored. The short rib was so succulent too. By this time we were stuffed. And then desserts we got the flan and tres leches. Perfect ending to the night. It was a lot of food, but we had 12 girls. There was also a DJ. Music was bumping. The staffs were nice and friendly. He gave fantastic recommendations for the menu and made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The hostess whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, also deserves special recognition. My daughter had a fall at the pool and had to be brought up to the restaurant, which made us late for our reservation. She was extremely compassionate, offered a wheelchair, and even adjusted our reservation time so we could hobble over comfortably. That level of care meant a lot to our family. Tamale: The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen a tamale presented so beautifully. It had a slight spice kick, but my nine-year-old daughter said it was the best tamale of her life. We will definitely be ordering this again. Ceviche: I absolutely loved this dish and would order it again in a heartbeat. The ceviche was light, refreshing, and beautifully elevated. Octopus: I'm a big fan of mole, so this was a standout for me. The flavors were rich and balanced. Another dish I would happily reorder. Mushroom: The mushrooms with pine nuts were such an innovative dish that it's almost hard to describe. I'm a big fan of both mushrooms and nuts, so this combination was right up my alley. Carnitas for the table: The pork skin was wonderfully crispy, and the meat was flavorful. If o had to be super picky, the pork was just slightly on the dry side. I admit I'm being very picky here because I grew up eating slow-roasted pork with perfectly crisp skin, so my expectations were high. The dish is a lot of fun for sharing because it comes with sides of onions, cilantro, slaw, peppers, and homemade tortillas. The kids especially enjoyed assembling their own tacos. The mild salsas were also spot-on. Bananas Foster flaming dessert: This was a showstopper. The presentation is fun and dramatic, and the pecans added the perfect contrast in texture. Every bite tasted a little different and kept things interesting. Next time, I'd love to explore more desserts from the menu. read more

Went to Casa Playa for dinner tonight. Was initially hesitant about going for fancy Mexican food (I'm a SoCal girl and I love my LA taco stands) but the food here is excellent. Very happy that we went here! The restaurant itself is beautiful. We got there when it transitioned over to a DJ spinning and it was at a reasonable level- I hate when I have to yell to talk to the person next to me and didn't need to do that here. Onto the food- my husband and I split everything; everything is meant to be shared. We had the tableside salsa (the spicy option is SPICY, have this be your warning) served with tortilla chips, the yellowtail tartare, the lobster tostada, the little gem salad, and the prawns. Everything was A++++. My husband mentioned his least favorite was the yellowtail tartare, but that's just because everything else was soooo good. The prawns had a sauce underneath that from the looks of it could be too heavy, but it wasn't at all- it paired so well with the prawns and if I could I would have licked the plate clean.. (not sure why I didn't tbh) Oh a whim I got the lollipop churros- definitely didn't need to order that bc it came with 4 of them and my diabetic husband wasn't gonna have any. If I had to choose, this was my least favorite thing I ordered. I didn't need it and was eating with my ears (not eyes because the waiter listed off the dessert options). It was just ok and the chocolate dipping sauce wasn't my favorite. Still. Casa Playa, 5 stars. He notice that our food took way took long and spoke with management. Management gracefully took care of us. They removed 2 item from our main dishes and gave us two free shots on top of that. (Mind you we did not complain about the food being late). Antonio noticed the problem and solved it with management. Thank you both. We greatly appreciate you guys. Hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. We went to go see Andrew Santino tonight and we picked a place inside of Wynn to eat and we landed on Casa Playa. First off I want to give a huge shoutout to our server Blake and Busser John. So nice and so attentive and they made our experience from top to bottom. I love how they really take into consideration, dining times meaning if people have shows or concerts to go to or attend. Every single thing we ordered was hands down off the charts! Even the rice and beans. I know that sounds silly, but I can't stop talking about the rice and beans haha! Usually they are so bland, but the flavor that was in both were so good. Drinks were impeccable and the decor and ambiance is perfectly lit and the cutest orange/yellow flowers hanging everywhere. We are locals, but I highly recommend to anyone. read more

Beautiful restaurant at the Wynn. The ambiance was beautiful and loved all the hanging flowers throughout. Made it feel dream-like. We ordered the enchiladas and branzino. The branding came with a side of handmade tortillas so you can make your own tacos. It was well prepared and the watermelon radish gave it a little sweetness. My husband got the enchiladas. He described them as: good amount of chicken, tasty, and saucey. read more

Casa Playa Staying at the Encore, decided to have dinner at Casa Playa which claims its menu is inspired by coastal regions in Mexico. Greeted by really nice hosts at the floral covered entrance to the dining area, walking into a beautifully decorated dining area flanked by two bars, was seated at very comfortable tables. Started with the Guacamole which was creamy rather than the chunky style that is normally served at restaurants, and accented with thin slivers of jalapeño peppers and a side of warm tortilla chips. The avocado flavor was delicious. Also had the Ceviche as a second starter, the fish was in a deep green citrus juice with tostada chips. For the main, the braised short rib was served off the bone and cooked to perfection, the dark meat revealing pink interior as it was sliced, very tender and rich in flavor. The flan was very dense but still had the traditional custard flavor with a light caramel coating. Of course, have to mention that I had the Obsidian margarita, made with Casamigos tequila, served in a glass with a splash of black sea salt on the rim of the glass, a delicate hint of the heat from the jalapeño in the cocktail. If visiting the Encore in Las Vegas, this restaurant needs to be on the list if you like Mexican cuisine. read more

This was a fantastic meal at the Encore/Wynn. My absolute fave was the truffle maitake appetizer, the flavors were robust and a decent amount of maitake mushroom. The tableside salsa was fun and tasted very nice, I would recommend getting mild spice and adding more chili if you need it. The medium level was too much for me. The tamarind chicken was a large serving plenty for 2 people. Every dish came with tortillas so you can make tacos. The churros were good but $24 was bit much. Service was great. We celebrated my husband's birthday at Casa Playa and it was absolutely worth every penny. The food was incredible--we ordered the taco festival plate with lobster prawns, Wagyu beef, pork belly, and cochinita pork, and every single bite was packed with flavor. The drinks were fun and delicious, and the wait staff was attentive and super helpful when it came to choosing cocktails. Such a great experience from start to finish. This place was fantastic service, food and ambiance!!! Started with the Queso Fundido and Maitake Mushrooms. The maitake mushroom might be the best appetizer I've eaten this year. It was phenomenal combination of flavor with the mole blanco and pine nuts. The Queso Fundido was super fresh and fun and was good with house made tortillas. We then moved to the Casa Playa Surf and Turf and the Waygu Carne Asada melts in your mouth, along with the pork belly. The lobster was good and so was the short rib. Ended the night with the Carolina Flan which honestly a perfect ending. The creamy texture and perfectly cooked peaches were fantastic. Love this place can't wait to try it again. read more
