Winner of my latest Vegas trip, this place was absolutely excellent!!! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the flavor concepts. Really top notch service. The ambiance was what I have come to expect from a "New Mexican" joint, but it made for a nice energy and felt lively. The food and drinks were out of this world though! I had myself a nice tiki drink to accompany an array of excellent seafood. The table favorite was the delicious seafood tower, it only closely followed by the calamari which was in this savory and super spicy poblano paste that was to die for. Then I had the Tilefish for my entree, but we all agreed the Branzino was the best entree on the table. All of it was excellent tho! High scale Mexican restaurant in Vegas.... 1st time in 2022(?), this place was very good. 2nd time, food was way too spicy but good drinks 3rd time, they are suppose to close at 10. We get there at 830, server/ hostesses rush us. Shouldn't be rushed when it's $100 per person The place that was once decent is now unfortunately struggling, we had drinks then went to Delilah instead. Let me start with the amazing service provided by the very friendly amazing Antonio and management. Antonio was amazing very friendly, kind and attentive went above and beyond. He notice that our food took way took long and spoke with management. Management gracefully took care of us. They removed 2 item from our main dishes and gave us two free shots on top of that. (Mind you we did not complain about the food being late). Antonio noticed the problem and solved it with management. Thank you both. We greatly appreciate you guys. We order the following: Oyster on the half dozen. I would give it a 7.5/10 The beans were excellent just a touch too slaty (maybe there just that day) but somehow they were eatable but delicious 10/10 The rice was good (texture) but somehow it needs a bit of flavor 7/10 Brazing sarandiado flavors were very good solid 9.5/10 Lamb was very, very tender and flavorful the dish it self was on another level solid 11/10 Review as May 23, 2026 The ambience was perfect. In search of a lunch spot that didn't require us to leave the hotel and venture outside into the 100 degree heat, we came across Casa Playa in the lobby of the Wynn where we were attending a conference. While the restaurant appeared to only offer a brunch and dinner menu, we were informed that we could still order off the brunch menu. After putting our names down, we were seated right away. The dining room itself was spacious, and the decor was whimsical and eye catching; vibrant flowers seemed to rain down from the ceiling. Upon being seated, we quickly placed our orders - we shared some chips and guac - and I ordered the frijoles de olla as my main dish. To start off, the chips and guac really hit the spot. The guac was creamy with a slight kick from the sliced peppers, and the chips tasted fresh and homemade. I wasn't as much of a fan of the frijoles de olla; the sauce was too sweet, especially paired with the rich ricotta cheese filling. I think the menu would be strengthened by offering more savory options to cater to the lunch crowd. read more

I ate lunch here earlier this week. I am not sure if the experience would have been better at night but I don't think I'll ever chance trying to find out. In town for business as I often am and had lunch at Casa Playa. At one point someone at our table asks if there can be no stars. My response was, this restaurant is beautiful so it will get one star for that. The majority of the negative review is based on the service...and a little on the food. You should be aware that they close the lunch kitchen at 1p. With a noon reservation that meant shortly after ordering our food at 12:45. The waitress asked us if we wanted to order desert because the kitchen was closing. Mind you we just ordered the food and nothing had come to the table yet. During lunch they only have one dessert which is churro. Finally we agreed to order a churro dessert. Of course before our meals came out someone came over to the table with churros. Terrible. They took them back and eventually the food came about 1:15. The food: we had apps of ceviche and salad and guacamole. The salad was fine. It was fine. A few people ordered the Chilaquiles. Everyone said they were spicy the could only stand a few bites. I actually ordered eggs with smashed potatoes and chicken sausage. I liked the sausage. The eggs had no seasoning and the potatoes were overdone and flavorless. But unseasoned food and dessert before the entrees were NOTHING compared to our rude ass waitress that I will not even call out because maybe she had a bad day. From the start everything we asked for was a problem for her and you would know it because if you can eye-roll as had as she was the entire time you would easily make yourself dizzy. We asked for a cocktail menu, tha was net with a sigh and an eye-roll. We asked for just about anything and what we received was an eye-roll. Getting explained about the kitchen closing and why the drinks were taking long. It was a bad day a bad experience. It was all bad. Except for the fact they had Fortaleza. That was great. Service here is exceptional. Our server, Ricky, was incredibly kind and we connected instantly. He gave fantastic recommendations for the menu and made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The hostess whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, also deserves special recognition. My daughter had a fall at the pool and had to be brought up to the restaurant, which made us late for our reservation. She was extremely compassionate, offered a wheelchair, and even adjusted our reservation time so we could hobble over comfortably. That level of care meant a lot to our family. Tamale: The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen a tamale presented so beautifully. It had a slight spice kick, but my nine-year-old daughter said it was the best tamale of her life. We will definitely be ordering this again. Ceviche: I absolutely loved this dish and would order it again in a heartbeat. The ceviche was light, refreshing, and beautifully elevated. Octopus: I'm a big fan of mole, so this was a standout for me. The flavors were rich and balanced. Another dish I would happily reorder. Mushroom: The mushrooms with pine nuts were such an innovative dish that it's almost hard to describe. I'm a big fan of both mushrooms and nuts, so this combination was right up my alley. Carnitas for the table: The pork skin was wonderfully crispy, and the meat was flavorful. If o had to be super picky, the pork was just slightly on the dry side. I admit I'm being very picky here because I grew up eating slow-roasted pork with perfectly crisp skin, so my expectations were high. The dish is a lot of fun for sharing because it comes with sides of onions, cilantro, slaw, peppers, and homemade tortillas. The kids especially enjoyed assembling their own tacos. The mild salsas were also spot-on. Bananas Foster flaming dessert: This was a showstopper. The presentation is fun and dramatic, and the pecans added the perfect contrast in texture. Every bite tasted a little different and kept things interesting. Next time, I'd love to explore more desserts from the menu. read more

Just tried Casa Playa at the Wynn--new coastal Mexican spot that's straight-up gorgeous. The vibe? Chic, breezy, like Baja met Vegas luxury: think orange flower chandeliers, lush palms, and that massive stone head greeting you at the door. I went for the Surf & Turf--Wagyu carne asada, lobster, jumbo shrimp, short rib suadero, pork belly al pastor, all piled on with serrano kick. Melt-in-your-mouth beef, perfect char on the seafood... honestly, it was ridiculous how good. Mikey our waiter? Total pro knew the menu inside-out, kept things fun without hovering. Located at the Wynn, Casa Playa is described as 'Coastal Mexican" cuisine. My first visit was back in early 2022 and I wasn't too big of a fan. Now four years later, their menu was revamped (to me) and it was a much better experience. Unfortunately, they were running behind that night. We had our reservation booked for 7pm but didn't get seated until about 7:30pm. Thank goodness for their beautiful entrance. Perfect to take your social media/Instagram content. My husband and I ordered the following: HOUSEMADE GUACAMOLE $19: wish this was made tableside but it was not. Flavoring was alright....could use a bit more salt and spice. Portion was fine, it's good for only two people though. MEXICAN BLUE SHRIMP CEVICHE $29: this was fantastic! I would totally order this as an entree. This dish was refreshing, full of flavor. AMERICAN WAGYU SHORT RIB SUADERO $59: another dish that can be shared between two adults. Wagyu short rib melts in your mouth, meat was so juicy. Come with a side of salsa verde, onions and cilantro as well as shishito peppers. We were able to make about four tacos with plenty of meat left over. Delicious! We also ordered a cocktail and a mocktail. I'm always hesitant of American Mexican food, and to add matters, fancy Americanized Mexican food. I really like my taco shops and hole in the walls. But Casa Playa really surprised me. We did a family style share and ordered a whole bunch of stuff. A ton of cocktails, a ton of appetizers, entrees and some dessert. It was for my friends 40th birthday celebration. For apps, we got fire roasted salsa, guacamole, a salad, blue shrimp ceviche, a salad cheese fundido. That ceviche was amazing. It actually tasted like aguachile. My favorite app of the night. For entrees we got the branzino, chicken enchiladas and short rib suadero. The branzino was delicious. Perfectly flavored. The short rib was so succulent too. By this time we were stuffed. And then desserts we got the flan and tres leches. Perfect ending to the night. It was a lot of food, but we had 12 girls. There was also a DJ. Music was bumping. The staffs were nice and friendly. Casa Playa Staying at the Encore, decided to have dinner at Casa Playa which claims its menu is inspired by coastal regions in Mexico. Greeted by really nice hosts at the floral covered entrance to the dining area, walking into a beautifully decorated dining area flanked by two bars, was seated at very comfortable tables. Started with the Guacamole which was creamy rather than the chunky style that is normally served at restaurants, and accented with thin slivers of jalapeño peppers and a side of warm tortilla chips. The avocado flavor was delicious. Also had the Ceviche as a second starter, the fish was in a deep green citrus juice with tostada chips. For the main, the braised short rib was served off the bone and cooked to perfection, the dark meat revealing pink interior as it was sliced, very tender and rich in flavor. The flan was very dense but still had the traditional custard flavor with a light caramel coating. Of course, have to mention that I had the Obsidian margarita, made with Casamigos tequila, served in a glass with a splash of black sea salt on the rim of the glass, a delicate hint of the heat from the jalapeño in the cocktail. If visiting the Encore in Las Vegas, this restaurant needs to be on the list if you like Mexican cuisine. read more

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Casa Playa and it was absolutely worth every penny. The food was incredible--we ordered the taco festival plate with lobster prawns, Wagyu beef, pork belly, and cochinita pork, and every single bite was packed with flavor. Hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. We went to go see Andrew Santino tonight and we picked a place inside of Wynn to eat and we landed on Casa Playa. First off I want to give a huge shoutout to our server Blake and Busser John. So nice and so attentive and they made our experience from top to bottom. I love how they really take into consideration, dining times meaning if people have shows or concerts to go to or attend. Every single thing we ordered was hands down off the charts! Even the rice and beans. I know that sounds silly, but I can't stop talking about the rice and beans haha! Usually they are so bland, but the flavor that was in both were so good. Drinks were impeccable and the decor and ambiance is perfectly lit and the cutest orange/yellow flowers hanging everywhere. We are locals, but I highly recommend to anyone. read more

Went to Casa Playa for dinner tonight. Was initially hesitant about going for fancy Mexican food (I'm a SoCal girl and I love my LA taco stands) but the food here is excellent. Very happy that we went here! The restaurant itself is beautiful. We got there when it transitioned over to a DJ spinning and it was at a reasonable level- I hate when I have to yell to talk to the person next to me and didn't need to do that here. Onto the food- my husband and I split everything; everything is meant to be shared. We had the tableside salsa (the spicy option is SPICY, have this be your warning) served with tortilla chips, the yellowtail tartare, the lobster tostada, the little gem salad, and the prawns. Everything was A++++. My husband mentioned his least favorite was the yellowtail tartare, but that's just because everything else was soooo good. The prawns had a sauce underneath that from the looks of it could be too heavy, but it wasn't at all- it paired so well with the prawns and if I could I would have licked the plate clean.. (not sure why I didn't tbh) Oh a whim I got the lollipop churros- definitely didn't need to order that bc it came with 4 of them and my diabetic husband wasn't gonna have any. If I had to choose, this was my least favorite thing I ordered. I didn't need it and was eating with my ears (not eyes because the waiter listed off the dessert options). It was just ok and the chocolate dipping sauce wasn't my favorite. Still. Casa Playa, 5 stars. This was a fantastic meal at the Encore/Wynn. My absolute fave was the truffle maitake appetizer, the flavors were robust and a decent amount of maitake mushroom. The tableside salsa was fun and tasted very nice, I would recommend getting mild spice and adding more chili if you need it. The medium level was too much for me. The tamarind chicken was a large serving plenty for 2 people. Every dish came with tortillas so you can make tacos. The churros were good but $24 was bit much. Service was great. Yes, casa playa has breakfast. At least for now unknown for how long but we had the privilege of trying it. This Carne Asada, New York strip, and eggs was phenomenal. Especially with the green rice. I don't know what it is, but it's really really good. They serve it with chimichurri that really just enhances all the flavors and brings a certain freshness to the plate. I paired it with a mock tail that was so good and refreshing. I wish I had got photos of our appetizer the ceviche, but it honestly didn't survive long on the table. I could take the broth/sauce from that ceviche and drink it as a full drink. That's how good it was. The service is always top-tier as anything at the Wynn normally is. The restaurant is beautiful showcasing a great photo opportunity at the entrance with a floral display. Inside it's very beautiful and open as well. I recommend coming here even if it's at dinner time because I feel like this would be a great date spot or a nice girl brunch or girl dinner.. really the options are endless but definitely check it out! read more

This place was fantastic service, food and ambiance!!! Started with the Queso Fundido and Maitake Mushrooms. The maitake mushroom might be the best appetizer I've eaten this year. It was phenomenal combination of flavor with the mole blanco and pine nuts. The Queso Fundido was super fresh and fun and was good with house made tortillas. We then moved to the Casa Playa Surf and Turf and the Waygu Carne Asada melts in your mouth, along with the pork belly. The lobster was good and so was the short rib. All I can say is WOW! I was absolutely blown away. I'm sad I never heard of this place before it was absolutely amazing from the beginning to the end. The exterior and interior design of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful and captivating. It truly feels like you are on the beach somewhere else. I loved the beautiful entrance perfect photo op moment!! We were here for a work dinner and had been seated at a table which was kind of squished for our large party, thankfully the staff here were extremely helpful and kind and quickly took us to private room with no issues. The service here is speedy quick which I loved, we didn't feel neglected even though our seating was afar from the dining area. The drinks were amazing and mouthwatering. My drink was a frozen margarita which are the besttt i would come back just for drinks here!!! Now the food, let me tell you I really wish I didn't have certain food allergies because everything I tried was delicious and beautifully seasoned. I opted for the chicken enchiladas and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and seasoned flavor fully which is sooo hard to find with enchiladas. The sauce served atop was delectable and there were no crumbs left on my plate!! LOL. We sat at the back bar (visit #1 of the night)- loved it SO much we returned to the short bar for visit #2 of the night. Don't love the low seating, but the ambience and DJ makes up for it! The MARGS THO! Do yourself a favor and order the Obsidian for an extra spicy indulgence. The Tuna Tartare, so fresh and perfect with a generous amount of guac which your girl appreciates. On visit #2 (late night) we had some type of short rib tacos!? Oh man, perfect late night nibbles after some dancing and cocktails. This place is a true vibe. The lovely ladies in the front were welcoming and said that they could fit us in without a problem. We got seated immediately. Our wonderful server, Elias was welcoming, helpful, charming and attentive. We were very happy with him. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The drinks were amazing. I loved the Obsidian and my husband had Wild Card and then 2 Obsidians as they were perfection! Guacamole was delicious and the fresh chips were the perfect way to eat it. We ordered Scallops, octopus, tuna tartare and toasted Chinese eggplant. We ordered more than we could eat but everything was delicious. The decor is modern Mexican and very elegant as you would expect from Wynn. The general manager was very welcoming and pleasant. He came and conversed with us couple of times. Dining here is like being transported to a coastal Mexican paradise where everything is near perfection. It's located in the Encore hotel near the pool area. The front of the restaurant is picture worthy with beautiful hanging flowers. The inside is elegant and modern with dim lighting and cool music. If you want to be seated right away, make a reservation. We chose to just show up because there were plenty of open reservation times but ended up having to wait an hour. Other than that, the service is on point whether you're at a table or the bar. Everyone works together to make sure you're taken care of and nothing goes unnoticed. Our water glasses were constantly refilled. If you love margaritas like I do, you'll be in for a treat with the drinks here. The Forbidden Fruit ($21) is perfect for any mango lover and the Obsidian ($22) is refreshing option with a kick. They used to offer complimentary chips and salsa, but we didn't get any this time which was disappointing. We ordered their Housemade Guacamole ($19) and the chips were good but the guacamole could be better. It was very basic and needed something more. Their menu has something for everyone from fresh seafood to wagyu short rib lot of the dishes are meant to be shared. We should have listened when our server said the Roasted Carnitas ($115) was a lot of food because it definitely could've fed more than the two of us. The carnitas were tender and had the crispiest skin ever. It came with blue corn tortillas, a chipotle slaw and way too much raw onion. We also got a side of their Green Rice ($14) which was so tasty. But beware it's very buttery and cilantro-forward. In a city with endless dining options, Casa Playa manages to set itself apart and offer a memorable experience. It's definitely on the pricey side but worth a splurge. read more

The place is beautiful, with its candlelit decor and cempasúchil flower ceilings. I first tried some of their desserts and tamal through a Three Square holiday fundraiser box from various chefs around town. From that experience, I knew their dishes would be authentic. We ordered the tuna tartare to start and it had the most delicious sauce I cannot explain. All I can say is it had a bit of a tangy kick to it, and it reminded me of a sauce I've tried in Mexico. The maitake mushroom was amazing, and the white mole sauce made it a very unique dish. Did not disappoint. I wish I knew all the ingredients in that mole. Our waitress was very knowledgable and explained all the ingredients to the dishes when asked. I recognized some flavors from my family's cooking, so I wanted to know what herbs or chilies were in each thing. She highly recommended the tilefish, which was crispy and subtle. It was perfect. We loved it! Might be our favorite dish. The lamb birria did not disappoint, and the tortillas, as well as the tostadas were so flavorful. The salsa was excellent. I only wish I could have tried the whole menu. At the end, we received a surprise dessert that went above and beyond. It was fired at our table, and tasted like an ice cream s'mores made out of churros, which really undersells the creativity and presentation, but it was unbelievable. Absolutely phenomenal experience! Really love the aesthetic walking in And the service was unbelievably good as. The server kept checking in on us and made sure we had everything we wanted. Really pleasant to talk to as well and just created a really fun night for us. I'm sure he did that for all the other tables as well since he seemed to get along with everyone in our area. Gem Lettuce Salad (with pepita cilantro vinaigrette, corn nuts, cotija cheese) - hopefully massive portion size on this one which we were not expecting! Definitely appreciate the large size. Lettuce was fresh and crunchy and not too many of the corn nuts or the cotija cheese is which was nice to lower the calories which is what we were looking for :) We had actually asked to put the dressing on the side but they must have forgotten that. Either way the salad wasn't soaking and dressing or anything so appreciate that. Summer Squash Tamal (with mole verde, thai basil) - just WOW !! BEST DISH OF THE DINNER! It was warm and soft and so delicious! I was very skeptical when husband decided to order this, but I'm so glad he did. Such a lovely, smooth, subtle and texture and just a really amazing item! If only the portion size were much larger haha. Half Roasted Tamarind Chicken (With Guajillo Salsa, Chimichurri, Sweet Potato) - Ready half and half opinion on this one. The chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly soft and tender and unbelievably yummy. Sweet potato on the side was a perfect add on. Only thing is the Tamarind made it a little tangy for me. And that chimichurri as well as the guajillo salsa were both fairly oily so I ended up not having any of it. Husband absolutely loved the dish as a whole though, so I think the dish opinions would matter a lot on your personal taste buds. Choco Taco - Husband decided to get this for dessert after having quite a difficult time picking between the options. The flan looked amazing as well but he decided to go with this. It was basically a chocolate waffle with some chocolate ice cream and some more cream and what not going on. Aesthetic was really lovely but I feel like it was too rich in the chocolate flavor for me and coffee cream was a bit too too strong. It also seemed very heavy on the fat and creaminess so we did not have that cream part. I think a vanilla ice cream instead of the chocolate would have really brought it all together. Otherwise, quite a nice concept. They got my husband a special little dessert at the end which was like too little mini churros that were coated in chocolate and turned into an ice cream sandwich with some vanilla ice cream in the middle. I honestly preferred this over the dessert we ordered. The churros were nicely crunchy and who went well with that vanilla ice cream. They should bring this on the menu, haha. read more

Very nice little spot for lunch. Not far from the main beach. Plenty of seating, friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. We stopped by today and got the beef empanadas, spicy tuna tartare and a waygu skirt steak. Everything was fresh and delicious! We also got the passionfruit mousse with whipped cream for dessert and it was sensational. Great meal overall. I definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area! read more

Simply fantastic, this restaurant is located in the Wynn family of hotels next to the Encore sports book. It claims to have a very strict dress code, but since the pool is so popular in the hotel I think the staff is a little relaxed while the sun is still up. We came in for an early dinner and we requested Andy, he has served us before, and honestly I can't think of why I didn't review him before. He is a fantastic server. Very knowledgeable and super witty, he brought us a lovely dessert for our friend's birthday last time we were here it lit up and burned away and left a tasty treat. We were so blown away by his service that we came back for more of it and were very pleased to have him again. I ordered the salsa which they made in front of us, my wife was smitten by it! This time I went with the prawns, they were pretty big, almost mini lobsters. The yellow mole was very spicy (for my tastes) caught me by surprise. But I still ate the shrimp which weee delightful. The green rice was buttery and spectacular. We also got the flan, the mango had an almost crème brûlée texture. It's easy to see why the chef here is up for the James Beard award, good luck with that, I hope you guys win!!! read more
