Went over the weekend for an anniversary celebration and WOW. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff and service we received was absolutely impeccable. I have a rather odd food allergy and the server teamed with other staff and made sure there were no issues. The team all seemed to highly care about my well-being and it was appreciated. They made our special day feel extra special by giving us both a glass of champagne and the tres leches cake on the house. Multiple staff wished us happy anniversary and seemed genuinely happy for us. As a lesbian couple there have been times in past years at other restaurants where we did not feel celebrated or even very welcome, so the staff's warmth here was extra special. The food was delicious overall. We started with the guacamole and squash tamal. The guacamole is solid and the chips were very fresh. The squash tamal has amazing flavor with just a hint of heat and was the star of the starters. I had the half roasted tamarind chicken and was very happy with my choice. So flavorful, juicy and a very large portion. This is a good main to share with someone. My wife had the short rib and could not stop raving about how good it was. We also had the green rice and cucumber salad for sides. The green rice was more flavorful when heated up the next day, but still good at dinner as well. The only item we could have done without was the cucumber salad. It is good if you want something light though. Can't wait to go back to Casa Playa.

Tuna Tartare (6.5/10): Pretty good, but I wouldn't say it's a must-order Fire Roasted Salsa (10/10): This lives up to the "signature" name. They make it fresh for you tableside. It tasted so fresh. All the ingredients were quality. Probably my favorite dish for the night. The chips were amazing as well. Queso Fundido (7/10): Tasty. Not a must-order, though Maitake Mushroom (8/10): Mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Loved the mole American Wagyu Striploin (9/10): 2nd favorite dish. The steak had an amazing sear. The crust was FULL of flavor. Loved the peppers on the side as well. Pork Belly Al Pastor (4/10): Way too dry. Pineapple was delicious, but the meat was not it. Green Rice (7/10): Excellent side dish. Tasted savory and fresh. Churros (5/10): A bit too mushy for my liking. Nothing extraordinary. Service was absolutely excellent!! The ambiance is also amazing. From the entrance to the interior, the restaurant is such a cool experience.

We were in the mood for Mexican food and we heard that this was a good place to go to. It is located at the Wynn & Encore Resort. The vibe is a stunning, high energy restaurant with cascading marigolds and vibrant colors thruout. We loved the gorgeous decor and the look! Our server, Stanley, was excellent, friendly and attentive thruout. We both ordered the same thing: Chicken Tinga Enchiladas and an Adults Only tequila drink. Our drinks were very good but unfortunately our main was disappointing. It simply didn't taste very good . The flavor was off. We ate it anyway because we were hungry and in a hurry to get to the Backstreet Boys concert at the Sphere. We didn't have time to wait for a redo of our meal. Next time we go there, we will just order something else and give them another chance. We had a good time there.

Have always had a pleasant time whenever I dine at Casa Playa- everyone is friendly, atmosphere is fun, entrance is gorgeous, and it almost feels like you really are transported to a coastal luxurious destination for great reasons. To be honest, there are times that I do wish the food has a tad more salt or sprinkles of extra flavors, but everything still gets eaten and very much so enjoyed. Was able to treat dear friends to dinner at Casa Playa, and they really enjoyed the experience. I forget our server's name, but he was awesome. Kind, knowledgeable, attentive!

We had a great experience at Casa Playa. The service was excellent and every member of the staff inside the restaurant was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed margaritas and their smoked tequila old fashioned. The decor and ambiance is whimsical and fun, and they even have small chairs for the your purses which adds a fun and thoughtful touch! We enjoyed the pork tacos for the table and found it to be plenty of food for 3 and the potatoes were delicious as well. The only reason this was not a 5 star experience was the rudeness of the greeters. We walked up without a reservation at about 6:30 and asked to be seated and were told nothing was available until 9 even thought the website was showing many open reservations. We stepped to the side and made a reservation and we were then able to be sat around 7pm. The start of our interaction with the greeters initially turned us off from the restaurant, but thankfully the experience inside was much better.

I may have been a little too intoxicated to fully appreciate my meal at Casa Playa in Vegas. I was especially excited to try it since the chef is a James Beard Award winner. We started with the guacamole, which was a solid way to kick things off. I ordered the short rib, but it was a bit more cooked than I would have preferred. My friend, on the other hand, really enjoyed her lamb birria. My cocktail was absolutely delicious, and the oysters were good, though they didn't particularly stand out. Overall, I just never really connected with the meal. I'm not entirely sure why--it could have been my state of mind--but I left feeling like I didn't fully experience what the restaurant has to offer.

Just reviewing the bar: lovely selection of beverages and _outstanding_, welcoming service in a gorgeous room. Kudos to management. We will be back - even when we're not staying in Encore.

Decided to have girls night out at Casa Playa. This was a great decision as everything was delicious!we started the evening with the "Adults Only" cocktail served with a champagne boba shooter, was the perfect start to our appetizer forward dinner. Tasty chips and guacamole arrived. Then all three appetizers arrived to the table at the same time, shrimp ceviche, octopus and the kampachi. Each dish was absolutely delicious! We probably would have ordered more, but since it was not coursed out and arrived at the same time we became full very quickly. Our server was an absolute delight and the water glasses were filled often, which makes us happy since it was 111° outside. He was very attentive. I can't wait to return to try other dishes.

The ambiance is gorgeous, lively, and just dramatic enough to make your cocktail feel important. The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly allergic to being basic. Everything felt polished without being pretentious, which is a delicate little miracle in Las Vegas. Overall, it was delicious, stylish, and fun. I left full, happy, and slightly worried my regular dinner plans may now need professional help.

Fabulous place to eat inside the Wynn Encore. Beautifully decorated with marigold flowers and statues. Not your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation. I highly recommend the lamb dish as well as the seafood tower (oysters, crab, lobster, lobster and scallop salad). The waitress Haley (from Minnesota) was a delight and recommended the spicy margarita (it was delicious). Service and food was impeccable. Highly recommend for the quality of food, top notch service, and ambiance.

FAB-U-LOUS! It was a girls night out so we splurged and hit the strip. From start to finish, we enjoyed every moment at Casa Playa. First... Chef Sarah Thompson... Is Remarkable! (She's a James Beard Award winner, you know.) She "nose" what people want. Great vibes... ambiance and decor! (There is the most adorable black n white picture of a donkey as you enter the restaurant. She took that picture and you just want to BOOP that snoot. Actually, as I understand it... she took all the pictures that are hung in the restaurant. She really is an artist in lots of ways.) She also KNOWS flavors and textures! I almost licked the dishes. All Of Them. I did not, of course, because this is an upscale dining experience and decorum dictates that I mind my manners. Full disclosure, I did lick my glassware tho... there was salt and seasonings on our drinks so it was acceptable. ha! The drinks are amazing! Careful tho.... while they go down smooth... there is Alcohol in them so imbibe responsibly. I am definitely going back to have another Wild Card.... in the simplest of terms... it's a pineapple margarita with a hint of heat. I loved it and if I wasn't driving, I would have had more than 1. If I had to pick a favorite... I would fail. We really enjoyed everything... my top faves are... I loved the Branzino... if you like Branzino even a little... order this. It's spectacular. The Maitaki mushroom in blanco mole... it's everything you want in mushrooms... "meaty", tender, flavorful, umami-ness... The scallops... The scallops were huge... succulent. Oh and the Green Rice. I don't know what is in this.. I mean... Rice ... yes.. probably garlic, cilantro and other magic... it's Fantastic and a definite must. It's a side and definitely enough for 3 people to share. The Purse Chair... super cute and considerate. Thanks to Chef Thompson and the entire Casa Playa team for a wonderful night out. We will be back!

Fun Mexican restaurant at the Wynn! Stopped in for a late dinner, booths were super comfortable and the table side salsa was excellent. Ordered the oysters, tuna tartare, and queso dip with chorizo. The server Maria & Ricardo were very helpful and Justin, the manager, was super friendly and stopped by our table to ensure we have everything we needed.

Winner of my latest Vegas trip, this place was absolutely excellent!!! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the flavor concepts. Really top notch service. The ambiance was what I have come to expect from a "New Mexican" joint, but it made for a nice energy and felt lively. The food and drinks were out of this world though! I had myself a nice tiki drink to accompany an array of excellent seafood. The table favorite was the delicious seafood tower, it only closely followed by the calamari which was in this savory and super spicy poblano paste that was to die for. Then I had the Tilefish for my entree, but we all agreed the Branzino was the best entree on the table. All of it was excellent tho! And let's not forget the table side salsa :) Highly recommend especially if you are going to Sphere as it's right there!

Ask the Community - Casa Playa

Is the weekend ayce brunch still available?

    Sadly, it is not :(

    Are there vegetarian options?

Yes there is a vegan vegetarian menu with a lot of great options like avocado tacos, vegan enchiladas, etc.

Are there gluten free options available?

The majority of the Casa Playa menu is gluten free and safe for someone with Celiac disease.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

The the great majority of the Casa Playa menu is gluten free and safe for someone with Celiac disease. Cross contamination is a non issues as Casa Playa does not serve flour tortilla or any gluten based dishes.

Gluten free items? Homemade tortillas.. are they corn?

    Homemade tortillas are corn.

We decided to try it for two reasons: we wanted to avoid the long wait at Palace Station Oyster Bar, and our 14-year-old was excited to try pan roast for the first time and loves raw oysters. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only one couple seated by the window. We didn't let that discourage us from giving it a try. The restaurant appeared to be a true mom-and-pop operation, staffed by one cook, one kitchen helper, and a waitress who also greeted and seated guests. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and provided prompt service. We were quickly seated, given water, and handed menus. The décor is simple and unpretentious, creating a casual neighborhood feel. We ordered two Seafood Combo Pan Roasts, Linguine with Clams, a half dozen raw oysters, and an extra order of rice to soak up the pan roast sauce. The Seafood Pan Roast was disappointing. Instead of the rich, seafood creamy savory that makes this dish so satisfying, it leaned heavily on tomato sauce. The consistency was quite soupy, with only small pieces of seafood scattered throughout. The Linguine with Clams had a strong briny flavor but lacked the garlic, butter, and savory seasoning we were expecting. There was also very little clam meat, making the dish feel underwhelming. Overall, the service was warm and welcoming, but unfortunately the food didn't quite live up to our expectations. Based on the many positive reviews, I have a feeling we may have visited on an off day. We truly appreciated the attentive service and the convenience of easy parking, so we'd be open to giving PK Oyster Bar another try in the future.

Bartenders greeted me immediately, brought me a beer, and gave me a short run-down of the menu leading me to order the following items which all came out about 10 minutes after ordering: Surf & Turf taco = 8/10 Marlin Adobada = 7/10 Cabo Tostada = 9/10 All of these were pretty solid. The surf & turf taco is quite large with some guac and crispy onion straws giving a creamy and crunchy finish and it's seasoned well. The marlin adobada has a unique flavor profile with the smoked tuna marinated in pineapple and achiote w/ cheese onions, and a guac aioli sauce; the pineapple flavors definitely come through so if you like that flavor, definitely get this one. The cabo tostada was the best of them all as one of the ceviche tostada ooptions. It has shrimp, octopus, and scallops in a spicy sauce with a lot of lime juice and a pickled carrot/onion/cucumber finish. All the flavors of these ingredients go well together and they give a lot of seafood. Definitely a must-order. With restaurant prices elevating, this place is one of the more affordable low-key eating options in the area. It's a hidden gem that deserves a visit when you're in downtown sin city if you want to get away from the strip for a bit.
