Return or not return? Return, but... Went there a couple times this past week for happy hour, but also had dinner there a few months ago. The oysters (from Va) are excellent. Really good except the 2nd time we went, the chef added habanero sauce, and it was overwhelming and too hot. Uncomfortable to eat. My issue with the food? Obscenely salty. The chips, the guacamole felt like someone spilled a salt jar, and the salsa is meh. Ok, but not great. Tasted like chipotle based. The fajitas and steak tacos were ok, but kinda blah. My friend Mat and I decided to stop at the brand new resort world hotel on Vegas. Lately I've been craving a Spanish drink so we stopped at Viva. I got the Blanco sangria which also has apricot juice in it and my friend Matt got a Coke and grenadine. Sangria is late and refreshing and very tasty. The fruits on top are lemon, apple and grapefruit. They have about two bartenders working a 360° bar and the bar is a little bit packed but mostly with businessmen. The ambience of this bar is an indoor and outdoor vibe with lively Spanish music and very fun, cultural decor. My bartender this evening Marq. We spoke a little bit about the hotel and he is very charismatic and very nice. 10/10 read more

We decided to try this place for dinner as it was in our hotel at resort world. I forgot our server's name but the nice girl was so kind and informative when we asked for recommendations from the menu. The other staff who helped us serve the food, water and checked in on us was also very kind. 10/10 for staff! Now onto the foood: The chips and salsa, it was so tasty. I give it 10/10. My favorites were the fish ceviche - I usually have shrimp but this was so much better. We got the Esquites appetizer and it paired well to share and went well with my Birria tacos. I've been here a couple of times when visiting Vegas and it's always been a good experience. This time we ordered the shrimp cocktail, which was really good, and the ceviche. If you like a coconut milk style ceviche, you'll definitely enjoy it -- it was flavorful and really yummy. We also got the chips and guacamole, which were fresh with a nice lemony taste that made them stand out. We had a couple of Palomas as well, and they were refreshing and well made. What was supposed to be a team dinner turned into a train wreck of an experience. Originally, we had reservations for 6:30 pm for 5 guests, but the team wanted to eat earlier, so we changed the reservation to 5 pm. The table for 5 at 5 pm was not comfortable. It was a two seat and booth with a chair added at the end. I don't know why we received this type of seating, as it was very cramped. More to come about that later. The guacamole was very good and had a little kick. I did not try the chip,s though. The white Sangria ordered by one of the dinner guests was not to her liking. Before I go any further. I picked VIVA due to it being inside Resorts World, and I believed that there was something on the menu for everyone, including several vegan options for myself. Boy, was I wrong VIVA does not accommodate off-menu changes or milder versions of any of its dishes. The 'Enchiladas De Pollo' featuring chicken, Requeson, Feta, Red Onion, Refried Lentils, and Arroz for $30.00 has a very spicy red sauce that cannot be altered in any way. The two diners attempted to change out beans for rice, and no veggies for the fajitas, and the server was doing her best to make as many allowed accommodations as possible. The diner who wanted the enchiladas gave up and didn't order anything. My vegan tamale was very good, but not worth a $18.00 price tag and then $5 for blue corn tortillas. With the table being cramped, the staff was constantly at our table to pull plates, collect silverware, wipe crumbs, etc. We couldn't have had a moment to even discuss anything. The manager did come by to speak with the diner, but there was nothing but an apology. 4 diners, 1 Alcohol drink - $300.00 The dinner experience will go down as one of the worst experiences that I have been a part of, and I will probably have my dinner reservation privileges removed. read more

Great place to dine if you're staying at resorts world. They don't offer chips but highly recommend ordering chips and guacamole as a starter. The guacamole was my favorite part of the meal. Their happy hour consists of drink specials and small plates - including nachos, tacos, and a great Spanish version of ahi tuna poke on a crisp tortilla. Highly recommend that. I tried the Caesar salad but the dressing wasn't what I was expecting. Still good (the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY). I'd recommend their enchiladas, fish entrees and other items that I've had and haven't disappointed. Their bartenders are great if you're just wanting to stop in and sit at the bar. Great vibes. I had a great dining experience catching up with a friend from out of town at ¡VIVA! Our server was fantastic. She was so friendly and genuinely excited to guide us through the menu, offering spot-on recommendations that made our meal great. We went family style: Queso Fundido - Tons of cheesey Fun. Ceviche - fresh and refreshing. Baja tacos (3) - Great execution. Enchiladas chicken - on the smaller portion side, but not dry and tasty. tres Leches cake - Absolutely fantastic. The manager(?) or head host also made the experience special by checking on us multiple times throughout our visit. The contemporary decor had vibrant colors and modern touches perfectly complemented the Mexican theme, creating a great dining setup. ¡VIVA! is a great modern Mexican option if you're hanging at the Resorts World property. First off... YESUA, ENZO and DANIELLE were soooooooo amazing!!!! Danielle greeted us with such a great smile and warm service. She made our drinks so tasty as well! Enzo was such a cool guy with a lot of knowledge about the place. He answered a lot of the questions we had and was just really fun guy to talk to! Yesua never steered us wrong in what to order and how things were made. He was super helpful with the menu items and made us feel at home. Customer service was top notch from the hostess (didn't get her name but she was so sweet!) and even the guy that brought us our food (funny guy that didn't make me feel like a big back for ordering everything twice!) Secondly....THE FOOD....FIRE! Every level of flavor and goodness that food can hit! My husband and I came here on our way to our room at Conrad World Resorts. We just happened to walk by during their happy hour after seeing a show at the Sphere. The prices looked great so we had to give this place a try. Being LA natives, we love some good Mexican food and were excited to try out what they had! We ordered the steak tacos that were made of wagu beef, and the QuesaBirria. As I'm writing this my mouth is watering again!!! The meat was so TENDER and had so much FLAVOR! Perfect amount of spice!! And the quesadillas....I just can't with these....AMAZING! I wish I can give this place a better rating but too many cons for my first visit here. We were with a group of 10 and it was around 2 hours prior to closing on a Thursday slow night. The back dining area was completely open so it was just us. Mood lighting is cool, no bathroom in the venue, you have to walk out of the restaurant to use the restroom. Esthetically, the restaurant was quaint, nice for date night or big parties. Server was nice at first but seemed to lose it a little, it seemed like she had a long day and was ready to leave is what it felt like and it's because an incident occurred where two out of the 10 entrees didn't come out til about 25 min after everyone else's food came out. Some of us waited for the rest of the food to come out thinking it would be out soon but ya it took almost 30 min to come out. Also when one of the two did come out it was completely the wrong entree and the server who took the order kind of got snappy about the enchiladas being on the slip of orders she took down but no one ordered that entree. We were frustrated and when we finally got our food a lot of ours that waited to eat after all orders came out had cold food at that point which was unfortunate. We ordered salads to chicken dishes, quesadillas, tacos etc, I got some photos of food that were closer to my side of the table but this was really an unpleasant visit I didn't care to get more pics as I already knew I wasn't going to lie and talk this place up. My entree was the rice carrots and half chicken and it was legit the driest chicken I've ever had. I don't know if it's because it sat around for 30 min before I ate it but I couldn't eat the white meat and the dark meat was slightly less drier which wasn't really that edible either. The rice and carrots were delicious. I will not attempt this place again. Note: they tried to comp us dessert instead of logically comping the two meals that came out 30 min late which is just a shame. I can't see this place sticking around for too long as there are a lot of other eateries at resorts world and hoping with better food and service. Entrees ranged from $25-75. And the appetizers were $20-30 and very small portions. Not worth the price for sure. read more

We came here on a Saturday evening and it was moderately busy, just lively enough to buzz but not busy enough that we felt neglected by the staff who were very attentive and accommodating. We sampled a few different cocktails, all very well done and uniquely flavored, mostly with tequila or mezcal... if you love mezcal this is the place to come drink. For food we had a wide array of things... and I'll bullet-list this for ease... Chips/Sala + Guacamole... a staple of course Taquitos... a hit, crunchy fresh and flavorful Costillas... these lamb ribs were a great bite Pulpo Asado... I love octopus and this hit the spot Heirloom Tomato Salad... fresh + bright, a great side to have with all the meat Ceviche... its not the prettiest, but it tasted fresh and bright Pina Asada... this was a unique twist on grilled pineapple Chicharron... the nighlight of our meal, the outside was crispy and the inside was tender pork Barbacoa... perfectly cooked, but make sure to get sauce in every bite as this is where most of the flavor was Cadillac Fajitas... this is a pretty standard fajita dish, my only complaint would be the blue corn tortillas felt a bit undercooked Churros... the lightest flakiest churro you'll ever have, and the perfect desert All in all we had a great evening here, and can't wait to come back to Vegas and sample a few more things. read more

My third visit, and as expected, everything was amazing. I usually split the margarita flight with a friend but this time I opted for the house margarita as they wanted to try the cocktails. The salt foam on top is a delicious twist that makes it stand out and the house made sour mix is a perfect balance to the tequila. I love short ribs so we had to get both the sandwich and taquitos. I would say I like the taquitos better because of presentation and guacamole. But the sandwich has cheese so... I really can't decide. I'm not sure what's in the French toast that makes it so delicious as I've made tees leches cake before, but there's something in this recipe that is OMG! I would skip the steak and eggs because a costly steak is wasted on me- but make sure to get the guacamole- yes it's a bit pricy but you'll be happy you did. Came here for dinner recently and I'm still thinking about the yellowtail ceviche. It was incredibly fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced. The citrus and seasoning really brought out the flavor of the fish without overpowering it. Easily one of the best ceviches I've had in Vegas. Service was just as memorable.
