The owner was very friendly and helped us order our food because we were not familiar with most of the menu options. My wife ordered the vegetable samosas which she loved. Jay Hind is a pure vegetarian and serves authentic gujrati cuisine food. The ambience isn't very fancy or anything but the food though is really delicious and great. The service is decent and they have a wide range of authentic gujrati, indo Chinese, chaat and Punjabi dishes to try from. Everything that I've tried here has been great. We ordered Bhel puri, 2 platters one with malai kofta and other with panner, Gobi Manchurian, panner paratha and veg biriyani. Everything was so good and we were in love with the simplicity and the quality which did not compromise the taste of the food. Happy to have found a good vegetarian restaurant. Recommend hard core vegetarians to check out this place and you won't regret. Note to the Business: We saw in our receipt a 20% gratuity and a 3% administrative fees( which we have never seen anywhere else and donno what's that's for ) however for the service tax and the administrative fees paid it would have been nice, to have the meal in a proper plate instead of a paper plate. The taste was good, clearly cooked Gujarati style as the taste of North Indian preparation for this dish is different, particularly the Chholae. Typically Indian restaurant with nice decor from Gujarat & bollywood songs playing on the TV. They do the Thaali that I would like to try on a weekend! High points for their service, shout-out to Sam, for being very attentive and professional. This place is incredible. We drove all the way from Scottsdale to try this place and it didn't disappoint. You order at the counter and sit and the seating area was very clean. They have a water machine which is a nice touch so if you want warm or cold water you can choose. We ordered the Bahubali Thali and it was amazing. Five stars for the food but 3.5 stars for the waiting time which was ridiculous, was almost going to miss a flight. Highly recommend Gujarati thali. Everything in the thali was tasty: 2 sabjis, poori, dhokla, shrikhand etc., except the gujarati kadhi which was way too sweet for our taste. Batata vada was alright and papdi chat was good. The initial days/weeks of this restaurant was great. My colleagues and I were regulars. The staff followed masking guidelines and tables were sanitized, so it seemed safe to dine and do take outs. However, the quality seems to have dropped down tremendously. The plastic/styrofoam plates and cups are dirty, the plasticware provided are dirty, the tables and seats are not sanitized in between customers and are filthy. The decor is bland and just adds to the overall dirty insides. The bathroom is filthy and extremely unhygienic. After I dined here end of June (6/24 or 6/25) on a Saturday evening, I fell very sick that night and next week. The following week on 6/30, I was diagnosed Covid positive with many symptoms. I brushed it off as a coincidence. My colleague and his family dined the same weekend at a different time and they fell sick and were Covid positive too. Not sure if that was a coincidence. My husband and I tried giving another chance last weekend and both of us fell sick - puked 3-4 times after we came home. It just looks like the quality and cleanliness has gone down to drain. I wouldn't dine or do take out here again unless they fix the issues with overall hygiene. read more

The food here is awesome! We ordered these chaats that I can only describe as gazpacho like shots in these puffy shells. One bite wonders of flavor. Highly recommend. We also ordered chole bhature, which was a combo of Chana masala and this puffy fried bread called bhature. The bhature is so bleeping good. I can only describe the bhature like New Mexican sopapilla or Indian fry bread. Try it, you will like it. Promise. We also had stuffed parathas, and samosa. All delightful. Ordered 2 vada pavs and an order of samosas. They were ready pretty quickly. Vada pavs were delicious. They used sesame hamburger buns which is different than the smaller rolls of vada pavs i've had before. I personally dont have a preference of what bread is used but this bun meant it meant a bigger potato patty! My partner who's never had vada pavs, loves meat, and dislikes vegetarian anything loved these vada pavs too. Other places I've had vada pavs before came with chopped onions, crunchy bits, and chilis. Jay Hind didn't have it but it stop my enjoyment of them. This place has indoor seating but is a counter type establishment. You order your food at a counter, you are asked to tip when you order, they bring you your food on paper plates, when we asked for some silverware, they said it's up on the counter. Ordered multiple items like bhel puri, samosa chat, dokla, chapati with kadhi and vada pav. Common theme across all the dishes was the taste was very bland. Samosa chat and bhel puri did not have much of a difference in taste other than one having a samosa. Quantity for Samosa chat is very less for the price. Vada pav was the only savior of the day. On top of it, my wife ended with stomach ache as soon as she had the Samosa chat. So it was a very bad day. If you want to have a good chat, I would recommend other places like pastries n chat or lotus where quality, price and quantity are all reasonable. read more

I hate giving low ratings and I love love love Indian food, but almost all the food we had was sub par. I know Indian food varies by region so maybe this was just a different region than I've had before. This place serves a mix of Punjab and Chaat (which I've mostly seen in Southern Indian cuisine). We had pav bhaji, Malai kofta and paneer Tikka masala with paratha. The paratha was bready but not buttery and flaky. The naan we got was okay: fluffy but not buttery or stretchy. The Malai kofta was more like daal than the usual sauce I'm used to. The dumplings were small (all the portion sizes were small) and not very flavorful. The pav bhaji used store bought hamburger buns that were squished and the sauce wasn't very flavorful. There are a LOT of Indian restaurants around and with the high rating this place has I had high expectations. The rose lassi and chai were good though. read more

This is how Jalebis should be made. Jalebis need a little nit if sourness due to the fermentation process which is generally missing in Jalebis from other restaurants. I haven't tried other food from Jay Hind yet but would to soon. If you want Jalebis, go there for sure. read more
