Disappointed to say the least. I purchased a $250 trophy to replace a fantasy football trophy that I thought I had lost. It turned out that I found the old trophy in my garage. I called to see if I could return the recently purchased trophy (that had not been engraved yet) and was told there are no returns and they proceeded to tell me that if I had discussed potentially returning prior to the my purchase, perhaps the paper work / processing of the purchase could have been done in a way where I could return the trophy.... Great.... Not even sure what that means, kinda wish they would have simply just said "all sales are final" rather than giving me this excuse. In any case, looks like I'm stuck with this $250 trophy ... I'm not surprised these old school brick and mortar stores are going out of business left and right. As much as I try and support mom and pop shops, things like this will make me use an online retailer in the future. read more

I called in hoping to get a quick quote, the lady asked what I needed and I stated I needed something cheap for a poster that's an irregular size (23.75"x23.75"). She then said "well, obviously anything custom is going to be expensive. Have you tried Michael's?" she then laughed and hung up on me. No shot I understand anything custom is expensive. The woman that answered the phone did everything that she could, to talk me out of doing business with them. I needed a rushed order for a company event that would award a gold cup trophy. I instantly thought of JB Trophies, since I drive past them all the time. She said they couldn't do it because rush jobs cost extra. I told her it's fine, I can pay a rush fee. I asked for a ballpark cost for a rushed trophy and she said it all depends, it could cost from $12 to $200. So I said alright, what can we do for about $100? She said oh nothing. With the rush fee I can't do anything for under $150. ... Okay, I say, $150 is fine. (I mean $250 is fine, $350 is fine, I just need a trophy in 2 days, can you do it or not?) She reluctantly agreed to do it but asked me to come in to bring in the wording that we wanted engraved on the trophy. Bring it in? Can I give you the TWO WORDS over the phone that I want engraved? Oh absolutely not, she needed to see it written out. Wow. I ended up finding another trophy shop, closer to my office in Cupertino, who not only was very friendly and offered several possible solutions, he also created a proof and emailed it to me for my approval before creating the trophy for the NEXT DAY, with NO RUSH FEE. Bonus: I decided on paying extra for a logo, and the whole thing was less than $100. read more

If your looking for a trophy or want some engraving done, a wall plate or some sort of award then this is your place. This small hole in the wall store is located off Coleman opposite Costco/ Staples in Santa Clara. Small quaint car park that is never busy. Inside you will find a plethora of trophies, awards, trinkets to recognize someone. It may be a little daunting if this is your first visit, as the store is full wall to wall with so many examples. So have something in mind before you go, so you can narrow down. Otherwise you could be lost for an hour easily. I purchased some student scholar trophies and had them engrave my kid's name, school, year of graduation and mount it on the trophy. They are normally backed up by a week or so, so plan early. If you want it one day earlier they charge $5 additional or $10 extra if its a rush order. It is a little on the pricey side but you are recognizing someone's achievement for something big once in a while. 4 stars Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. read more

I bought a photo frame for my soccer team- it appeared that it was too big - we never took it out of the package- I had the receipt and was returning it only 24 hours later - they told me they would not take it back - all sales are finals !!! My company uses JB Trophies all the time (I've used them for almost 10 years now) and they are one of the best engravers in the county and I won't use anyone else. They offer a wide variety of services including framing, which is very helpful. The staff are friendly and warm. They are always willing to help you pick out an item that is appropriate for you. They get busy and at times they can be a little rushed (nothing wrong with that). They do all the engraving in-house and can make corrections pretty quick, which I like. I have to say I'm surprised by some of the reviews here on yelp and I hope the owners come here to defend themselves or at least offer an explanation. They do not engrave things while you wait, nor do they advertise such services, if you want that go somewhere else. If you need professional engraving and plan accordingly then these are the people for you. read more

Came in a week before an event that required a plaque to be engraved. If you need any engraving or trophies, I would suggest coming in a few weeks before you need it just in case! I got my order rush-ordered and got it just in time so I think paying the extra money was worth it. I needed a place to get a plaque made FAST (like next day fast). I decided to check JB Trophies out because I was close to it at the time. Customer service was great; I went in around 11:30 AM, it's a small shop with a lot of display cases, right across the street from Costco. Parking lot in front! Because I wasn't sure exactly what the plaque was going to say (had to run it by my supervisor), they gave me until 3pm to finalize the design. They called me around 11AM the next day to say that it was ready! The only reason I knocked off a star is that I thought it was a bit expensive, especially since I had brought my own wood mount for the plaque in with me. But if you need something made up in a pinch, this is definitely the place to go. read more

I've used JB Trophies several times in the past, both for work and for the non-profit group I volunteer for. They are fast and professional. When a former vendor quoted me a lead time of 16 weeks for some metal ID plates that I needed ASAP, I ran over to JB Trophies to see if they could make something similar. They were able to create similar ID plates for me in 1-1/2 weeks! I've also purchased custom trophies and etched crystalware (a gorgeous etched decanter for a co-worker) and everything was made on time and for a fair price. The showroom is fun to wander around in---they have an amazing number of items. They ususally have two people at the counter, but if there are a lot of customers in the showroom with questions, you may be in for a bit of a wait. Call ahead! read more

If you want to take pride in your trophies/prizes and want them done right, this is the place to go. My goal was to create a trophy that the winner was proud to showcase, and they exceeded my expectations. I was initially hesitant to come here due to some negative reviews on Yelp with respect to customer service. However, do some quick research and you'll find this place has the most options available in the bay area. I decided I would go to the shop myself, and if I didn't like the service, I planned to leave and go somewhere else. A salesman immediately came out and asked if I needed anything. I told him I was just browsing, and he left me alone until I needed him (the type of salesman I like). They have a nice showroom and I was quickly able to identify a couple of trophies I liked. I probably spent two hours there mixing and matching trophies with different stands and plates and going over some design ideas I had. The staff (Phyllis and Rick) then spent two months working with me designing the plates that would go on the trophy. They helped me with layout, font selection, and creating a custom art design for my league based on my vision. They are very good communicating by email with respect to sharing designs/layouts and making modifications. In the end, I was very impressed with the final product. They were able to make my vision a reality. The more you want and the more intricate the customization, the more you'll have to pay. However, they were always looking out for my bottom line price and giving me various options and discounts to keep the price reasonable and within my price range. I ended up ordering over 30 trophies total. They individually wrapped, boxed, and labeled each trophy for me. You might be able to get better deals online, but I wouldn't risk it if you are trying to create a custom vision. Get it done right the first time, go to JB Trophies, it's worth every penny. read more

The place doesn't seem very interested in customer service. Called to get a trophy engraved today. They let me know they can't engrave 1 line of test in a day. They do engraving in a week. This place is the epitome of customer "DISSERVICE." My co-worker and I came to J B Trophies looking for awards for a customer appreciation dinner. Yes, we had a difficult timeframe, but we only needed nine awards total and were flexible about type and size. The woman running the store first informed us that she was about to leave for lunch and then proceeded to lead us through a lengthy discussion of why our order would be a) next to impossible and b) extremely expensive. She didn't seem to want our business at all. I went into jb trophies today with a business vard case I wanted to put 2 initials on. First and formost the people helping me was pretty rude. After I asked them to engrave my item ,with 2 initials, she left me at the counter went into the back.and then told me it wpuld be a 15 dollar set up fee and then 15 dollars to engrave the item. If they didn't want to engrave items for the general public why did'nt they just.say so. I'm sure they would take.care of larger corporate clients, however if your just a guy coming in off the street I would save yourself the headache and find someone else. read more
