We needed some snacks to stock our beach house rental and this was a one stop shopping store. Their prices are a little high compared to the chain grocery stores, but that's not surprising. We don't mind paying a little more in quaint small towns. We prefer the peaceful, low traffic areas of the Oregon Coast. Employees are always friendly and helpful here. Their private parking lot has plenty of parking available. The store is clean and well stocked. I would definitely recommend.

The containers which had packaged leftovers from the food bar were really hard to read, no ingredients listed, so I couldn't tell if they were vegetarian/vegan or carnivore. So I went to the canned soup aisle, and they had a good selection of options. I noticed the fridge section had a selection of meats and veggie-based things - but something seemed a bit off/old about them; and I'm not sure why. But it IS on the expensive side; and I imagine because it's a Co-op, and of course as a visitor I wasn't a member. The place felt a little crowded/packed with stuff, but didn't have much of what I was looking for. I didn't find the people working there terribly friendly, or rude. However, I had accidentally left a packet of seeds I bought on the counter, and the cashier actually ran to my car to give them to me. That was a really nice, unexpected touch.

Before me in line was a grandmotherly woman who was so excited for the chocolate as she ordered, it was utterly charming to watch, her kids stood nearby encouraging her. And the owner was so rude to her for no reason I could sense, it was like he was having a bad day, except he's having a bad day every time I'm there. I'd go to their other location on the main drag in Newport, which has the same items (more, in some cases) but they have a weirdly absurd cash only policy. It pains me to give the owner money when so many businesses are struggling, and he can't be bothered to be borderline pleasant. Can one of the 100 other candy shops on the coast start making all their chocolate options so we can put this man out of business?
