I'm completely basing my review on An employee at fine jewelry, LILYYYYYYY THANK YOUUUU . like I'm not some paid advertise or wateva, I actually went and shopped there. I had literally the best experience shopping, no rushing, didn't feel as if I was being annoying because I couldn't make a decision for literally hours on what I wanted lol. She looked everywhere she could to try n get me wat I wanted, And while helping she seemed genuinely as excited bout shopping as me. Yes I kno she makes commission blah blah as she should tho, but she wasn't jus trying to sell me anything, and told me to try n come bak another day to see if she gets more stuff in and even called me with my permission to let me know an item was available, I didn't even buy that item and she still was happy and didn't look bothered at all, she was just helping, at the end I ended up buying 4 items over the course of 3 days that I really wanted and never even thought jc penny carry the item, thank you Lily from fine jewelry, you're the besttttttt!!! read more

I haven't been here in years but came this time for a family photo session upstairs. We had to wait a bit for our turn so I looked around in the men's clothing section and they have some real nice stuff (suit jackets, business shirts and ties and some pretty good selection of jeans). I've been all over LA when it comes to doing my hair and I am never happy nor satisfied, which sucks because come on,your hair is important to have nice. Prior to having my hair done by Vanessa I first went to meet with her, and from the start she new exactly what I wanted to accomplish. The instant click was there. As soon as I meet her I knew she would definitely know what exactly I wanted. Her hair looked amazing as well. I kept my appt that I had with her. As soon as I got there she attended to me. I remember this store being one that I would enjoy going to, but now it's really difficult just to find simple things. Some departments are overloaded with items and some are down to the bare minimum, some shelves are not stocked properly and some are overstuffed with misc items. Some of my favorite items are no longer carried in the store the cashier says you have to order online now. Cashiers are all over the place but yet you can't get any help and then most checkout stands are closed and the ones that are open have the slowest people working and extra long lines. I guess the days of enjoying Penny's have come to an end. read more

I've only been in a JC Penny a few times. This location is in a large shopping mall. I stopped at Sears first then hit a few more stores. I was juggling my 8 month old twins. Had my little girl in the Bjorn and my little guy in the Sears shopping cart with my diaper bag, purse, shopping bags and some baby clothing I had found in this store. I was just finishing up when I was approached by a woman in black. Very abruptly she told me, "we don't allow carts in the store." It's a mall, I'm going from store to store. I didn't see a sign posted. I had no idea. So I said, don't worry, I'll just leave. The two women at the register had no idea of the store policy either! One lady at the register suggested that I take a stroller. Ya, I don't drag my double stroller everywhere I go. I especially don't take it to places where the extra carrying space is needed. Plus, the first store I stopped in the mall, supplied the cart. I was so shocked and horrified at the way I was treated in this store. Complete disregard for a mother with 2 small babies, a few armloads of bags and loose merchandise I couldn't possibly have gathered up with my arms overloaded. I made my purchase. I won't be back, with or without a stroller! read more

Came into this store today haven't been here since I don't know when. Boy has so much changed. Looked around employees are very rude unprofessional piercings and tattoos. I never shop at JCPenney my mom does maybe my standards are high because I shop at Nordstrom even Macy's lol. OK, let me start by saying, I am a frequent shopper to JCP ... But there are some problems that keep getting ignored... First of all, there needs to be a separate area for customers to take returns or get credit for exchanges - The register employees are overwhelmed with these issues, and customers have to wait in line ... Every time I'm waiting in line, there always seems to be some customer with an issue that takes 10 min or more to get resolved. Another issue is the 1970 registers they have there.. very ancient for 2016. While I walk around and shop on the third level, no matter what time of the year I am in the store, its hot, there is very little A/C ... very stuffy and even the employees complain! It is very frustrating having to wait in their lines with your arms carrying merchandise while in a hot store. Customer service / morale... The employees seem miserable, they are in just do my job and get thru this day mode.. I went to the store to purchase a gift card for a family member, and I had to go to three different registers to get help - why, cause each cashier was with a customer already for 10 min or more - Like I said, there needs to be a separate section like KOHLS, to deal with customer service and exchanges and returns, so that can FREE UP the frustrated cashiers! Like I said before, I do shop at JCP frequently, I have a Platinum Credit Account there and have spent $1,000s of dollars there, and will continue to shop there... The store is clean, neat, clothing put up very nicely ... I love their quality brand named items, and sales and rewards.... So I'm kind of customer that the bigwigs at JCP should listen to... Service must be part of the product too, let get with guys! I recommend that a customer service counter staffed by several employees be put in place, most likely in the rear of the third floor, where the photo dept that never does any business is located. Dont come here for pictures of big parties. Went to take a family picture, there were 10 of us. Told the photographer we mostly wanted a family picture and to focus on that. Gave me a bit of attitude and told me they were but were also going to take other poses to give us options. Turns out we only had 3 options to choose from for the family picture and with a lot of us wanting to look nice 3 options wasn't enough to choose from. The rest were of the grandparents with their children or grandchildren. Then us with out kids. Then grandkids alone. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the associate ringing us up was nice and patient with us while we chose our pictures and paid. read more

JcPenney portrait department has some major issues. 1st thing is they never, ever, ever answer the phone! Like, never. It continually rings over and over again and you won't even get so much as a voicemail message. Another thing is their "late policy". If you don't call, and you are late more than your 10 minute grace period, then you will be seen as a "walk-in", and they will take everyone else in front of you until they are pretty much empty. This rule is total RIDICULOUS and BULLCRAP especially when they never answer the darn phone! I won't be patronizing this portrait studio anymore, because I don't feel like the hassle. No thanks. Save yourself the headache and go to The Picture People where they treat their customers with appreciation and fairness. read more

What can I say, I like JCP and this is the closest one to Redondo Beach. This location usually has what I'm looking for, although the actual store itself doesn't appear to be as updated as the Culver City or Lakewood JCPs. The Sephora department is very nice and has always been well-stocked. read more

There are times I come here and find waaaay too many clothes to buy, then there are the times I can find nothing cute! Oh well, I always come back for their great sales. I like stocking up on basics like tank tops and cute shorts. Their shoe department is pretty good. I always like a lot of their hand bags too. This evening I went there to buy a couple of pillows. I was assisted by a clerk named Lizbeth, who went above and beyond. She had to run downstairs a couple of times to get the correct pillow I needed, even brought me a chair from 1/2way across the floor when I told her I was feeling unwell and needed to sit down. As someone who has managed a music store, it was refreshing and surprising to experience such competence in a retail setting. I hope Lizbeth goes far with the company or in life. read more

Remembering that this is JC Penney and not Target or Walmart I was greatly disappointed at the appearance of the Children's shoe department. There was no one in the that department shoes were scattered all over. I could not get anyone to help me I found the sample of the shoe I wanted but couldn't find where the shoe was located. Also the Children clothing section wasn't very clearly marked and again there was no one to direct to the proper place, I have never had a bad shopping experience at JC Penney before but this one sucked. read more

We wanted to take a picture with our grandsons for our Christmas cards. JCPenny Portrait Studio is horrible. Made us wait and wait. They advertise all these specials and we ended up paying more then expected and they pressure you if you like A PICTURE, they tell you you have to buy it today. The manager was very rude. Out of 5-6 takes only one was pretty good. The pictures they took of the grandsons without us were average, but when I got the picture back a portion of the arm is cut off! The manager showed me a picture of ornament and asked if I was interested. I said I was. That cost $9.99 and I thought I would get an actual ornament with their picture NOT SO it was a small card board with a picture of the grandsons! That sucks! Very nice suits here but very over priced. My husband had to return the suit and the tie because he found a better deal somewhere else. He had gotten a suit but only the top not even the pants and just a tie, and he went somewhere else where he got a whole suit, pants a shirt a tie with a hanky for the same price they offered at Jcpenny. This JC Penny has good products, and kept neat but the service is the worst. I went in to buy some boots and was hoping to get in and out. Quickly, I found what I wanted but there was no one around to go in the back and get the boots in my size for trying on. After walking around the store to search for someone to help me I decided to leave because I was running out of time. Stupidly I came back the next day only because I had a gift card and a very good coupon that was expiring that day. The same thing happened again; I got what I wanted quickly but was unable to find a clerk for help. Finally I did find two clerks on the far end of the shoe department in the men's section. Nicely I asked if they worked here because they were not dressed that well and I was unsure. With a roll of the eyes and attitude that told me I was bothering her she began walking towards the women shoe section. I guess that meant she worked there and would help me. With an apology for making her mad I asked for my size. A giant huff and a quick turn she went in the back only to come out 10 minutes later with the wrong size. Against my better judgment I did buy the boots (once I got the right size)and went down stairs to the children's department. Again the merchandise was good but the service was few and far between. JC Penny would do much better if they focused more on customer service. read more

I am really starting to HATE coming to JCP jewelry department it is always chaos, they need to come up with a wait system so that I will not get passed up for loud, impatient customers that demand assistance as soon as they walk to the jewelry counter (although I understand). I'm usually more vocal but I wasn't in a rush today but I was over looked not only once but twice today. They first customer was an older couple so I didn't really care but they wanted to open an account so it took forever then the other customers just walked up started speaking Spanish and for some reason they took her ahead of me also. I'm only staying because my daughter broke her chair that has a lifetime warranty and I'm here so I'll get it fixed here this time. I see some earrings I like but I'd rather go online or across the hall to another jewelry store. I used to work for JCP in undergrad and we pushed excellent customer service that was almost 10 years ago so I guess they don't reiterate that in the morning meetings anymore. PORTRAIT STUDIOS HORRIBLE MANAGER!!!!! Went there for pictures and it was the worst experience ever the Manager Isaiah was extremely rude and a jerk, not just to myself but to other customers and especially his employees he talked down to them almost making one of the girls helping me cry she was so sweet to me but the way he treated her was awful even calling her "stupid" in front of me I don't know how he is still working there. To make matters worse I decided to complain I called the portrait studios district manager Jennifer Sunbury and she was rude as well and could care less about the situation and just brushed me off. I will never go there and hope know one else will. And I hope both he and the district Manger get fired. read more

We purchased a Groupon to take pictures for our newborns birth announcement cards. Our photographer was Julia and let me say she was hands down amazing! The studio closes from 1:45-2:30, our appointment was at 1. We arrived early (knowing it would be difficult with our newborn) and we still went over the time. Julie stayed during the time the studio closes to try to get every shot we wanted. Unfortunately, our newborn was not happy and we were not able to get the last shot. The pictures that we were able to get turned out beautiful! Julia stayed until 2:45 to download the pictures show us all the options and us choose what package we wanted. read more

I recently ordered over $600.00 worth of clothing. I returned $ 350.00 because I did not like it or it didn't fit right. When I went to return some of the items I I received a notice that I would not be able to return one more Item in the next 6 months. Are they crazy ? I just spent almost $300.00 but because I had ' to many returns ' I would not be able to return anything in the next 6 months. Guess where I won't be shopping anymore ??? Yep - JCP. Try to pick up my online order at the store today. Received an e-mail notification the item is ready for pick up at the store. When I arrived at the store, I was told the item have not arrived at the store. When I show them the e-mail, one of the female manger told me that the e-mail notification does not mean anything. So, they gave me the store phone number and ask me to call back and check. So I went home and call the customer service. They told me the item is at the store. What??? I told them I was just at the store and they told me the item is not there. Worse yet, the customer service told me that they forgot to put one of the item in the shipping box so they had cancel the item. Then i try to call the store, but no one pick up the phone. This is the worst store I had ever visited. I'm surprise they are still in business. read more
