We stopped in to look at a couple jeeps that we thought were for sale and they ended up being customers cars that were there for repairs. Although they do have some vehicles that are for sale on the lot as well. we learned a lot of information about the Jeep that we wanted to purchase, and the guy there at the shop was very generous with the conversation, he didn't rush us. Asked to have 2 leaks fixed and loose steering checked. Advised to fix the leaks and not the steering. Took 2 weeks, leaks were never fixed and they installed a new track bar and stabilizer that I advised not to do. I then brought it. Back for the leaks to have fixed again, and sure enough, still leaking. Leak at the rear diff should have been very simple for them to fix but that's twice now they've said they've done it and never did. Would definitely not recommend bringing your Jeep here, can't trust the service and overpriced for what it is. read more

Being in the automotive industry, coupled with the fact of being maticulous with projects makes finding a qualified mechanic a chore. I've owned my SJ Full Size Jeep for over 20 years.. holy hell, I just shivered realizing that I'm old. It's been all over North America, Baja Trips, Ski trips, you name it! The night before - a weld broke and lost one of my shocks. I called one jeep repair company and they basically laughed and said its not repairable unless you order new parts. When i got to Jeep R Us I talked with Abel...a very nice guy -- said i think I can help you out. We had to do a couple minor modifications --- but Abel fixed it! Please please please - save yourself the trouble & the headache and do not take your Jeep here. Before I describe my experience, let me begin by noting this is my first review...ever. Not a single review on Amazon, Yelp, or Google. This is the first time I've been moved so strongly to do so. I brought a Jeep I recently purchased Jeep here several months ago to do a thorough inspection. While the recent owner had maintained the Jeep well, I wanted to be sure that it was safe to drive. A primary concern that I had was the looseness of the steering and fixing the turn signals. The solution: to install a brand new steering column for about $1100. At most - this would have given me a new turn signal lever which I already have. After consulting several other mechanics - I discovered that my current turn signal in fact works and simply the wire needs to replaced. The loose steering has nothing to do with the steering column itself but rather adjustments in the suspension and caster angle. Again, I discovered this only after consulting several other mechanics. Additionally, I requested work to be done to get my speedometer up and running and only after being charged parts/labor for a new wire to connect the speedometer and after being wrongly told that the speedometer was I told that I needed a new gear inside the transfer case - a job which would cost an additional $500. I was recently quoted by two different mechanics for around $150. Furthermore, I paid for a nut and bolt inspection of the entire vehicle to ensure that everything was safe and working properly. Several mechanics since this supposed inspection have confirmed numerous other faulty functions in the vehicle that should have seemed obvious, including needing the carburetor rebuilt, misplaced and loose hoses, a faulty air pump pulley that need to be rebuilt... Two weeks into this ordeal (in which only the speedometer wire was added, an accelerator cable replaced, and a supposed nut and bolt inspection), I was informed of a faulty drive shaft - which I agreed to replace for $700. I often try to believe the best in people. I hope that I don't get taken advantage of. However, after consulting different mechanics who invariably offered information different than what I was told at Jeeps R Us - I can't help but to feel like that was the case. Please seek out other, more honest mechanics to work on your Jeep. I would not trust Jeeps R Us with an oil change. read more

They are too busy for your money. I have called and spoken to them on two occasions and have levy voicemail at least four other times in the last month. I wanted to swap my rear Dana 35 for a Dana 44. All I needed was a price quote and they told me they had to do some research and would call me back. No call back and more VM left with once again no response. If you need work done, they certainly did not have time for me, good luck getting them to call you back. Very disappointed. read more

Nightmare Auto Repair Experience. 10+ weeks at the shop for minor work (Smog prep/test & install a few cosmetic things), I had the feeling they were bilking me, not getting anywhere with the repairs and hitting me up every update with another expense that wasn't originally planned. 7/16/18 - dropped off '79 Jeep CJ7 to get their expertise to get the jeep to test/pass smog and install a new rear bumper, side mirrors, a new speedo, and side steps. Quoted $216 and casual timeframe of a few weeks. They were demo'ing the office the day I dropped off the jeep, and the new owner who had just taken over was there explaining the previous owner had recently passed. The shop was in disarray but understandable with the transition. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast. Wasn't updated for several weeks, when I got a call they asked for permission to install the mirrors as it was going to be more hours than estimated (+$), I thought it was odd, and then got another call a week later for another authorization (+$) (Ignition switch - which was functional when dropped off), a week later asked for another authorization for Key Cylinder (+$). 8/24/18 - after several days of trying to get hold of the shop for an update, shop responds that they have not had internet or phone service for the past week and that they weren't able to get back to me or order parts. I requested that they make the project priority and that I would pick up the vehicle on 8/29/18 finished or not. They obliged and said it was really close to being completed. 8/28/18 - shop called and said that they had been working hard on vehicle but would not be able to meet deadline and requested one (1) more day (8/30/18) 8/30/18 - called shop to check status, no answer - no response. 9/13/18 - finally heard back from shop, however I was out of town and they didn't leave details on the message. 9/21/18 - When I was back in town and I spoke to the shop, they requested another authorization (+$), this time to take a diagnostic test that would allow them to find out what's wrong and troubleshoot the issue further. The shop explained that they had been doing a "tail-pipe" test/not a full smog diagnostic to try to troubleshoot. Completely frustrated and not having a plan, I gave authorization, the rep said he would call me back in two hours with the results and plan to get the issue resolved. Not surprisingly, I didn't get that call two hours later. When I did get a call, I had spoken to a resource familiar in such matters and he asked me two things, regardless of the test results and their plan to resolve, do I have confidence that the shop is competent to complete the repairs? And do I trust that the shop will complete the repairs professionally and in a timely manner. NO to both, so he said pick it up, pay the amount they invoice and we'll deal with it later. So I requested they wrap up their work and prepare the vehicle to be picked up. 9/26/18 - after spending a few minutes with the new owner's representative, and explaining to him my issues, he brought in the rep I had been primarily dealing with. At this point the rep had a different tone and began conceiting that the invoiced amount I had received should be modified due to incomplete work. He began to go through the itemization of charges and discounted about $600 of work they invoiced for, stating that the work should not be charged for since the work was not completed. I appreciated the concessions, and paid the outstanding amount/invoice (as is) just to get done with the whole ordeal. Then they shared some new information, that the stick shift knob had broken when they had to move the car, they didn't try to repair the knob, but then ordered one of the mechanics to begin replacing the broken knob after I had paid the invoice. While the mechanic began replacing the knob, I asked him about the key cylinder that had been itemized on the invoice and when that became a problem. I had driven the jeep prior to bringing it in and I didn't notice any issue with the steering. He then said that they hadn't replaced the key cylinder but some gear that was housed in the steering column. He went on to show me in his notes to confirm as much. He went on to say no Key Cylinder was ever ordered and wasn't sure why that was itemized on my invoice. The mechanic & primary rep began to argue about the miscommunication on the work that was actually performed. Mind you, I had paid the amount and now I was finding out that the invoice included additional items that they did not complete or replace, which in my opinion is fraud. Familiar with CA auto repair law, I asked for all parts that had been removed from my car or replaced. They were unable to provide any of the parts they said they replaced or worked on. I then found out that some of the parts I had brought in (i.e. brand-new boxed speedometer) was now missing. Avoid Jeeps-R-Us at all costs. read more

I was actually hesitant to write this review because the staff was very nice but the fact the work that was completed improperly ended up costing me significant $$$$. This review pertains to mechanical repairs, specifically replacement of a coil and spark plug that cost in excess of $600. I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler and brought it in due to the check engine light coming on. I knew the code going in was P0302 which is a misfire in the 2nd cylinder and well aware of the trouble diagnosing. I should have taken it to the dealership which at the time I didn't because I thought the warranty had expired which fortunately it did not. After the coil was changed by Jeep's R US the check engine light came back on the very next day and I returned. After speaking with Dan he recommended I follow up to see if the jeep is still under warranty which I found out it was. I took my jeep to the dealership shortly after and found out the problem was the left cylinder head needed to be replaced which is covered under the warranty. Yay! The only problem was I had to pay over $500 to have the dealership correct what was done by Jeep's R US. It turns out the throttle body was turned 90 degrees in the wrong direction and sealer was sprayed all over the intake. This had to be removed and a new gasket installed which is not covered under the warranty. In summary, I essentially paid over $600 to Jeep's R Us for a new coil and spark plug that are less than $100 for parts and another $500 to the dealership to properly fix what was done. In the end I had them replace the coil I paid Jeep's R US to install so all the coils would be MOPAR which only cost me $53 extra dollars. read more

Bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with an EVAP permanent code issue that was preventing it from passing a smog check. I tried replacing a couple of parts myself that are common problems, but no luck. I took it to Jeeps R Us and they replaced a canister tank because it was faulty (proved through a smoke check). Although that was an issue, the system also had to be flashed, which I would have never known what to do without their help. They contacted a professional to have it done which was low cost compared to replacing a gas tank. I am writing this after successfully passing a smog check! Couldn't have done it without them. Great communication with me about the problems and possible solutions. Highly recommend!! read more

Can't give this place more than one star. Although Larie comes across as a nice guy and is professional, his team was unable to fix my jeep, hence the one star. Brought my jeep here with a suspension issue. I thought since they build jeeps from the ground up my issue would be no problem. Larie tells me on the phone he can fix any jeep problem and to bring it in, then calls to tell me it's fixed some time later, however, when I went to pick up my jeep the issue didn't even appear to be addressed. I took it on a test drive and my suspicions were confirmed...PROBLEM STILL EXISTED!!! I left the facility in disgust. Because of my experience I can't recommend Jeep's R US. read more

Well, this is a brutally honest review. People need to know. They have had plenty of disputes about repairs. They don't properly document the repair orders or convey the customers concerns to the mechanics. Super unprofessional! Not calling the customer back with an estimate of the repairs. They just surprising you with a bill when you pick up your vehicle. There favorite line is that you brought it in for us to repair it! The shop has been for sale for a while because the owner thinks his old junk is worth a mint.. Well you have been warned. I'm not a customer but I was an employee for a few months to witness this circus in action. Very embarrassing just working there. This shop is the worst I've ever been to. I have a '79 Cherokee Chief S and have taken it to them on 3 occasions. The first time was to have the front drive shaft replaced. Mine was making god awful noises. They replaced it and my Jeep suddenly had a bad vibration at 60 mph. I took it back and they had it "re-balanced". It still has a bad vibration at fwy speeds (cheap parts). Next, I asked to have the steering gear replaced because of so much slop (play) in the steering wheel. They replaced the steering gear with no improvement. They suggested replacing steering linkage and bushings. $2,000 and still no improvement. Months later I noticed that the steering gear they put in had just as much slop in it as the old unit they took out (again, cheap parts). Most recently I was having problems with the Jeep stalling. They replaced my carburetor ($500)and said it was fixed. It stalled 5 times on my way home and it runs like crap. Last night at the supermarket the battery went dead. I fiddled with the battery cables and one came off! I tightened the cable and now the Jeep runs great! These are the most incompetent mechanics I have ever seen, and they use the cheapest parts available. And on top of all this... they put a softball size dent in the front right fender of a perfectly straight body and then had their lackies stand in front of it when I picked the Jeep up so that I wouldn't see it. read more

I was very pleased with my experience with Jeeps R Us. I took my Jeep Wrangler in over the summer because of a seat belt that was no longer working. They advised me that they would need to order a $150 dollar part and charge me about $150 labor and then took a deposit in order to order the part. Part came in, they called me and I brought my Jeep in to have the seat belt replaced. Much to my surprise my total bill ended up being $150 less than I was quoted. They used a different belt to save me money and the installation was still done the same way. Clean and professional as I expected.
