During our stay in Yountville for our Napa Valley wine trek last year, we discovered Ranch Market that had some great options for alcohol and sparkling waters for us to take home prior to the 9 pm shutdown for most of the towns restaurants. The decor looked like most local mini-marts and markets outside of the typical chains that are still stuck in the 1970s and 80s: off-white and beige walls, red linoleum floors, knickknacks and tshirts for sale, a deli for ordering sandwiches during the day, fresh fruit and cheeses (and French loaves), other essential grocery and pharmaceutical and some household items, and cold and room temperature beverages, including wine, beer, and booze. I was impressed they had a liquor license to sell liquor such as whiskey. The store assistants were friendly and funny who said, "you definitely need water if you have been drinking wine all day." To which I responded, "yup, doing it all again tomorrow."

The market is a solid 3 or 4 but I wish I could give zero or negative stars for the restaurant side inside of ranch market 2 in yount. tried giving this place so many chances, but they consistently serve out garbage. It's Yountville so it's overpriced, but the least they can do is serve fresh food they don't even care. I've gotten sick eating their salads in 2021. Sick eating their sandwiches. I gave the daily pizza try today and it was trash. Like it was made two days ago reheated. Cheese was slimy. Sauce out of a can.. they gave my wife some attitude about using the bathroom a few months ago. There separately operated from the ranch market, different owners i was told. They're usually in a bad mood. It's a tourist trap, so they just push garbage out. I really wanted to like this place. Avoid

First of all the Ranch Market Two staff are awesome and very polite. Great staff. However I decided to give this review after 4 years of coming here. The sandwiches here used to be good and worth the money. In recent weeks the quantity of meat provided and overall quality of the sandwiches had declined massively. As you can see from the pictures Teo pcs of pastrami was give for a 14 dollar sandwich. The bread is good and the condiments are fresh and is why I gave two stars. If your coming to yountville you expect good quality and portions if your paying top dollar. This is not the case here, I highly suggest going down the road the the Kelly's Filling Station ot just go to the golf course Lakeside Grill. Much more worth your dollar.

    silly stuff they sell here

Ranch Market is convenient and almost always has what I need in a pinch. It is expensive, but I am grateful to have it nearby!

Great little market in Yountville! We snuck out of our fancy hotel and grabbed some ice cream points for dessert! Expensive, but worth it!

We were a table of three and ordered three appetizers and three entrées. Unfortunately, our server forgot to put in one of our appetizers, which we had been patiently waiting for. By the time we realized what had happened, it actually ended up working out because we probably ordered a little too much food to begin with. Aside from that, I would say the service was pretty standard. For my entrée, I ordered the braised short ribs and substituted the polenta for potatoes, and they were absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and easily fell off the bone. The potatoes were a great substitution and paired really well with the dish. This was definitely the highlight of the meal for me. At the end of dinner, they surprised me with a complimentary birthday plate with an assortment of small desserts and fresh berries, a candle, and "Buon Compleanno" written in chocolate. It was beautifully presented and a really thoughtful touch that made celebrating my birthday there feel a little more special. Overall, it was a nice birthday dinner. Nothing was particularly out of the ordinary, but I really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere, my short ribs were delicious, and I appreciated the birthday dessert plate at the end. The ambiance is definitely what stood out most to me and made the evening feel special.

I was able to call and use their automated system to find the reservation and specify patio because we had a dog. On arriving at our table, we were served bread with garlicky butter. Yum! We ordered a couple of pastas. The gnocchi stuffed with ricotta was pillowy and not chewy. The Mezzaluna had delicate balance of flavor with truffle and corn. It was great to find vegetarian dishes with unique flavor and texture. The portion sizes were not huge but satisfying. For dessert, we had a Tiramisu and Choco Lava cake. I am usually a Tiramisu lover but this one seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the chocolate layer on the top, I like it in the more traditional style. The Choco lava cake was amazing and decadent. The service was good and attentive. They told us about presence of gelatin in one of the desserts. The ambience was chilled and relaxing. We could enjoy a nice breeze and enjoy conversations in a peaceful corner. What made it special for me was them patiently answering my questions about parking and welcoming me to use their restroom in the evening when public restrooms had closed. I did not even have to specify I had dined with them earlier. They are elegant and non-pretentious.

Unfortunately, our experience on Memorial Day weekend was anything but. From the moment we arrived, the hostess set a tone that was unwelcoming and, frankly, rude. Rather than graciously managing what was clearly a staffing challenge, she repeatedly reminded us -- as if it were our problem to carry -- that they only had one server on the floor. On a Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. One of the busiest hospitality weekends of the year. I understand staffing is difficult in the industry. What I don't understand is how a restaurant at this price point, in this location, can justify charging premium prices, expecting 20%+ gratuity, and then making guests feel like an inconvenience for showing up. That is a management failure, not a guest failure. A great front-of-house professional absorbs operational stress and protects the guest experience. What we received was the opposite -- we were made to feel like a burden before we even sat down. This review has also been sent to corporate leadership. Guests deserve better, especially at these prices.

What impressed me immediately was how thoughtfully they had prepared for my visit. I use a mobility scooter, and we later learned that the team had discussed my comfort and movement before we even arrived. The seating was perfect, and everything felt completely natural. The service was exceptional. It was precise and seemingly effortless--from the kitchen to the front of house, every detail was executed flawlessly without ever feeling rehearsed or mechanical. And the food was incredible. One of the highlights was a tomato dish featuring ten different varieties, all grown in the garden across the street. Absolutely amazing. At the end of the evening, we were invited into the kitchen, which was an incredible treat and honor. I was struck by how calm, quiet, and immaculate it was. I forgot to photograph the accessible restrooms that night, so we returned two days later. The staff graciously welcomed us back and allowed us to photograph the two large accessible restrooms. The French Laundry is an unforgettable dining experience--not only because of the food, but because of the thoughtfulness, precision, and genuine hospitality behind it.
