I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but the premade sandwich I bought here was honestly embarrassing, especially for a place in Yountville. What I got for $14 was two slices of very dry bread, a stack of thin turkey slices, two curled pieces of mild cheddar cheese (on a turkey sandwich?), a single limp leaf of lettuce and a packet of yellow mustard (Heinz) and mayo. No tomato, no seasoning, no balance of flavors. Just dry bread, turkey, and cheese that doesn't even belong on this type of sandwich. The wrap didn't list ingredients and the deli counter was closed, so there was no way to ask questions or customize anything. I ended up stuck with a premade option that felt like something from a hospital cafeteria rather than a market in the Napa Valley. The bread could have saved it, but even that was just a bland sweet roll with no texture or character. For $13+ they could at least use a decent bread from one of the many local bakeries. As a local, it's disappointing because visitors assume places in Yountville will reflect the food reputation of the area. Unfortunately this didn't come close. I've seen similar feedback in other reviews for the deli, and after this experience I understand why. The sad part is those reviews date back for years and they have obviously fallen on deaf ears. Vote with your dollars folks. If you're heading up valley and want a good sandwich, you're honestly better off stopping at Genova in Napa on the way or continuing just a few minutes up the road to Oakville Grocery. If you only need a quick bottle of wine this is a place for you. I rarely say this, but this was a "never again" for me. read more

During our stay in Yountville for our Napa Valley wine trek last year, we discovered Ranch Market that had some great options for alcohol and sparkling waters for us to take home prior to the 9 pm shutdown for most of the towns restaurants. The decor looked like most local mini-marts and markets outside of the typical chains that are still stuck in the 1970s and 80s: off-white and beige walls, red linoleum floors, knickknacks and tshirts for sale, a deli for ordering sandwiches during the day, fresh fruit and cheeses (and French loaves), other essential grocery and pharmaceutical and some household items, and cold and room temperature beverages, including wine, beer, and booze. I was impressed they had a liquor license to sell liquor such as whiskey. The store assistants were friendly and funny who said, "you definitely need water if you have been drinking wine all day." We had about an hour between winery appointments, not much in that area but reviews were excellent. The deli was excellent, club sandwich with avocado had the best thick bacon and bread was fresh. It's Yountville so it's overpriced, but the least they can do is serve fresh food they don't even care. I've gotten sick eating their salads in 2021. Sick eating their sandwiches. I gave the daily pizza try today and it was trash. Like it was made two days ago reheated. Cheese was slimy. I used to stop by there every weekend to get my regular items; diet coke, recess peanut butter cups, cracker jacks. One day I got ice cream dots and I had a hard time figuring out how to open it. They share a parking lot with Bistro Jeanty where I got some "nibbles" of Au Pied du Cochon and Pâté de Campagne Maison. I have been going to Ranch for the past 4 years or so and we love this little market. No, it's not Costco, and it doesn't have Costco prices, so if you're expecting that, you will be disappointed. What it does have is an amazingly curated selection of food, produce, wine, cheese, and even Fisher Price toys. No, you won't do your weekly shopping there, but you can count on them to have what you need. Lines are always short and the cashiers are helpful. If you call them looking for something, they put you on hold and go check to see if it's in stock. It's the way stores used to be. If you are visiting Yountville, get a sandwich at their deli, a bottle of wine in the store and head to one of the town parks for an affordable and delicious lunch. The good: Sandwich and its ingredients were fresh. The bad: $12, and really wimpy. No flavor. Asked for black pepper and lots of spicy mustard, and neither was on the sandwich. Bland-wich. It was not loaded; in fact, the sandwich was just two pieces of bread, some small bits of avocado, sprouts, and cucumbers. Had to search for the onions. There were two guys working behind the counter, and payments are made in the separate area of the store, so they should have been more efficient but the skimpy, wimpy sandwich took more than 15 minutes to make. I should have unwrapped the heavily taped Bland-wich before leaving as it was kinda light-in-da-wrap. While people were coming in and out, these two guys should not have been over-whelmed. First of all the Ranch Market Two staff are awesome and very polite. Great staff. However I decided to give this review after 4 years of coming here. The sandwiches here used to be good and worth the money. In recent weeks the quantity of meat provided and overall quality of the sandwiches had declined massively. As you can see from the pictures Teo pcs of pastrami was give for a 14 dollar sandwich. The bread is good and the condiments are fresh and is why I gave two stars. If your coming to yountville you expect good quality and portions if your paying top dollar. This is not the case here, I highly suggest going down the road the the Kelly's Filling Station ot just go to the golf course Lakeside Grill. Much more worth your dollar. read more

Absolutely no complaints here... this market is right in the center of Yountville...walking distance from all hotels in the area They have what you need.... if you forgot something at home, if you want a bottle of wine and the wineries are closed, if you need some groceries or a late night snack, if you want a souvenir, if you need a box to ship your wine home if your kids are bored and need something to entertain them (activity books, toys etc..) if you want an apple if you want to have someone to talk to (i'm sure the cashier will enjoy the company) seriously...it's a convenience store but more! prices are reasonable... service is friendly... and like i said...they will more than likely have what you need. read more

I love these little eclectic grocery stores that seem to sell everything from wine to tacky souvenirs. This place basically has everything you need to bring back to your hotel for the night (alcohol, crackers, cheese and water), but maybe not enough if you actually lived in Yountville and were doing a real grocery shop. Very close to Bistro Jeanty where we were going to eat lunch. I wanted to waste a little time here, waiting for our reservation at the Bistro, and I found all sorts of treats to buy! They had dark chocolate coated sugared lemon from Seville (cherries too). Ines Rosales sweet tortas- so fabulous with goat cheese! They had all sorts of interesting vinegar, wonderful breads, crackers, chips- they've got a small home goods section, a wine section, cheese and cold stuff- and a little deli!!! I love this place. We shopped here and bought an assortment of things during our trip through Napa. Toothpaste: check. Goat cheese: check. Level 1 Vodka: check. Martini & Rossi dry Vermouth: check. Chocolate easter eggs: check. Isley Cabernet Sauvignon: check. French olives: check. All in all, it set us back about $120, but considering that the Isley cabernet is a $50 bottle of wine (they suggest we let it rest for about five years until it reaches its full potential), we didn't make out so bad. I was expecting much better. This is really closer to a 2.5 by Napa standards. Nothing on the deli menu looked particularly interesting/organic/local. They were out of bagels on a Thursday morning at 9:30am. Service was painfully slow. In the grocery store, the produce was not organic/local as expected. A surprisingly unpretentious place in Yountville. I needed some non-perishable canned drinks that could sit in the car for awhile, and this is the place to go. They have a large wine selection for such a small market, but considering the location, not that much of a shock. They have everyday cleaning/home supplies, like laundry detergent, can openers, you name it. They're better than the original Ranch Market in Napa, which is more of a typical convenience store. I was able to find a bottle of Tao of Tea from Portland, with the stag sign on its label. Great little shop. read more

A decent down to earth, compact and easy to navigate market in the center of town. It's the sort of unexpected find where they have a bit of this and that, a tad of everything, and unexpected gems strewn by the wayside, e.g. as I was walking out, on the left in the corner is a revolving display of mini, and I do mean teeny tiny little "backpacks." Actually, I'm not sure if the were literal backpacks, except they were shaped and designed as such. I suspect people strap these to their existing purses or bikes, other athletic endeavors. But these things did catch my eye, and though I didn't buy it, my eyes landed on the display of lunch boxes atop those backpacks. They carry sundry items, from household stuff, to small hardware type objects, as well as what you'd expect on the produce "department," and though small, it would definitely do in a pinch. They also have prepared food, a bunch of beverages with a massive refrigerator near checkout. The place is a bit of a time warp, as if stepping into another era when things were simpler, when there were fewer items to purchase--this is a good thing for me. If I step inside a Safeway, and there are 30 cereals to choose from, not sure if we need this or just plain want it. In either case, this market simplifies everything. One of the terrific virtues of this place is its sandwich/deli/pizza--yes, it's all that--in the back of the shop. They make regular and specialty gourmet sandwiches, cold and hot, plus there's a pizzeria on site. It's a separate joint, but adjoined in physical space. They always get our order right and are very careful regarding food allergies. Ranch Market Too has fresh fruit, vegetables, a good selection of cheese and baguettes. They also have a great selection of non alcoholic drinks and NV wine. The Check-out Clerks are friendly and helpful too. If we do not have time to enjoy a picnic at the Yountville Parks, NVMuseum and/or Vets Home, we often enjoy our lunch inside the deli or outside Ranch Market. A neat, locally owned grocer in the middle of a ritzy tourist area. While these types of places are becoming commonplace in the nicer vacation spots, I never cease to be amused by wandering the aisles of a store like this. This particular example had high end smelly artisan cheeses, boutique wines, oddball cuts of meat (tripe!), weird handy-crafts, snooty pants sodas, and a decent selection of basics for the locals and hotel bound, hangover plagued wine tourists. There is really nothing like a high quality independently run market that features the best local packaged goodies you can find and when it's in Yountville you can be sure they will have a great wine, cheese and chocolate selection.
