I've been to Jefferson's several times. Normally I get pretty good service and good food for a fair price. I especially like the burgers, they never miss with the burgers. During lunch Sunday, December 1, 2013, however, I had terrible service. Actually, it was worse than that. Saying I had terrible service implies that there was any service at all. I had *no* service. I was not greeted, sat hungry for a few minutes, and eventually got my menus myself. All four waitresses walked directly by our table at least twice. The food at Jefferson's is very good. We've always loved their burgers, wings and fried pickles. Their draft beer and cocktails are always cold and not watered down. It's a great place to go watch a good football game or hang out with friends. The only problem I've ever had is the service. It's not bad but not the best. We've walked in before and it's taken them 15+ minutes to even acknowledge we were there. 1 time we even got up and left because a wait staff walked by 2 times in a 15 minute span and didn't say a word. We were so hungry we decided just to leave and get food elsewhere. Now if I suggest Jefferson's everyone is like.. "nah... don't want to deal with the wait staff drama" With the awesome food there I think it's in the owner's best interest to have a pow wow with their staff on improving customer service and they would be 100% excellent. My wife & I tried this local restaurant for supper. It is basically a sports bar- alot of tv ' s on the walls. We ordered barbecue wings and fries. They were ok- but they put way too much sauce on them for our liking. We realized we should have asked for them plain with the sauce on the side. We also ordered Corn nuggets which were wonderful. The service was very good- but the servers were not particularly friendly. The atmosphere is loud- but that's to be expected in a place like this. read more

We had a late lunch. We had fried mushrooms as an appetizer. My wife had oysters and crab legs. She thought they were very good. I have fried shrimp. The shrimp and mushrooms appeared to be purchased pre-made and just fried onsite. Which doesn't make them bad.. Just kind of lacked a little flavor. Really good burgers but the fries tasted like they were bagged and frozen. Their chicken strips are also tasty but they came with tortilla chips. I didn't quit understand that combination. Like someone else stated, the staff is either friendly or not. read more

We came here last night with a friend. One of the young employees quickly wiped off a table for us, which was appreciated. Our waitress was very sweet and even recommended the fried pickles, which were pretty good. Something about their sweet tea was special. It was fresh. We also got the pub pretzels, which were average in my opinion. The cheese sauce could have improved the pretzels greatly, but it was undesirable. There was hardly a wait, and both my boyfriend and I ordered burgers. They were nothing spectacular but they were enjoyable. We also got some jerk wings, and although they were not authentic, they were very flavorful and delicious. Our friend got the oysters which he finished and loved. The service was okay. The food was absolutely nasty. The fried pickles were salty as hell like they deep fried them in salt and oil. The burger that I got tasted really funky I took only a bite or two. My husband got the wings and was disgusted and said it tasted like pure salt. One waitress brought us the fried pickles and spilled the ranch which was fine so someone else brought us some ranch. I asked her if they could bring a wet rag and clean where they spilled the ranch as my 18 month old would be sitting in the high chair at that spot. The waitress said "paper towels are on the table" I said "yeah obviously but it will be sticky and that will just smear it" she then proceeds to say "fine" and left to get a rag. Needless to say I am not sure how this place is still in business. If you want to waste money and increase your chances of a heart attack then this is the place to go. We liked the atmosphere. Prices weren't bad at all. The burgers were overcooked. We asked for medium rare. The server never asked how the food was so there was no correcting it. One burger was a blackened blue cheese burger. Plenty of blue cheese, but little to none of the seasoning. The others was a mushroom Swiss. Not much flavor to it. Overall the food was okay. We have stopped here twice in the past seven months on our way down to Orlando and we've enjoyed it very much both times. The food was very good and our service good. Even though they were busy both times, we got our drinks and meals in a timely manner. We were able to relax and enjoy our meals as the crowds thinned out as the night went along (there were open tables, so we weren't hoarding a table!). If we ever find ourselves down that way again, we will definitely stop in. read more

We were in town for a baseball tournament, my friend at work recommended this place. I brought a group in after one of our games. The staff was friendly and we were sat immediately. The corn nuggets for appetizer were delicious, I had a cheeseburger, my son had chicken tenders and my wife had the patty melt. Food is decent. Bar food. Big selection. But the customer service is impeccable. The owner greeted me as soon as I want in (well assuming he was the owner) and the waitress I had was great. Wish I remembered her name. Good service Is hard to find now a days and a lot of times I go out to eat dressed casual so I get stereotyped and don't get the best service. This is a funny review because I didn't even eat... My boyfriend and I came in at 2:30 today and wanted to sit a low top table well they had some of their low top tables closed, okay fine we were told we could sit at a high top table on a specific side of the bar. A group of guys came and sat down after us well they got served before us and then the bar tender gave them their drinks and still had not said anything to us. Well she looked at us and very rudely said by the way someone is sitting there and I told her we were told to sit here by the hostes. She got snappy and we moved over two seat. There was no one sitting or anyone's stuff at this spot by the way. At this point I'm annoyed and haven't even gotten anything to drink yet. Then we get told we can move again. Today was our first visit to Jeffersons, we ate there for lunch. We let our waitress Adrienne know we had never been there before, and she gave us some recommendations as she went over the menu with us. She was very friendly and attentive. They have different daily specials and Saturday's was $1.00 off any basket. I ordered the popcorn shrimp basket and they were the biggest popcorn shrimp I ever saw. The crinkle fries were hot and crispy, and it even came with hush puppies. Loved the atmosphere, decorated with dollar bills that people personalize and leave behind. For the 3 of us, our bill came to $26 before the tip. We will definitely be going back to try other menu items. We live in Dallas and it was definitely worth the 20 minute trip. I'm a regular customer here. But the past couple of times the food has not been great. I'm not understanding how my family gets there food and I'm still waiting for 5 minutes to get a wrap! Easy thing to fix and when I get it the wrap isn't even what I ordered I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap by the chicken being fried and got grilled and the wrap it self was very greasy. Also my families wings weren't right but we ate it and left. We won't be back for a while this has happen more than once now. read more

We have been eating at Jefferson's for the past two years. Tonight we had the worst service we have ever had at any restaurant in the past ten years. Our waitress took half our drink order then disappeared. Finally the bartender came over to deliver half the drinks and we ordered the rest of them and took our food order. After 50 minuets our appetizers came out and then five minutes later the food came out. I asked for the manager and he made nothing but excuses for the bad service and offered to do nothing about it. We rolled the dice on Jeffersons after a day at the Tellus Science Museum. We ordered fried pickles and wings to start and burgers for our meals. Fried pickles were thin cut and a big hit, the wings came with our burgers and were average. Now, Monday's are $1 off burgers. My dad and I got the doubles and my wife and mother got the build your own burger (BYOB). When they arrived we were concerned they were way too big, but once I got started it was clear this was going to be a good burger. The texture of the hand shaped patties was light and fluffy allowing me to easily eat what appeared to be a thick sandwich. If you're in the mood for a good burger this is a solid choice. Beer was served in frozen pint glasses which is always a plus for me. Service was slow, but accurate, no complaints other than the wings coming out with the entrees. read more

My husband and I have been eating here for 2 years now. At first it was good, then a couple of months ago we were pretty disappointed with the quality of food and service we received. So anyone can have a bad day. We went again tonight and now we will never be back. Appetizer never came, quantity of food was noticeably decreased, we asked for very well done crispy fries and they were undercooked even for regular fries. The girl who brought our food never smiled or spoke beyond naming the order and setting them down. My husbands burger did not come with the toppings he requested. AFTER we had eaten (except the fries) someone came over to check; sorry too late. We had seen four different girls standing by the bar for most of our time there, no one bothered to look our way. We stumbled upon Jefferson's by accident after visiting the Tellus Museum. We wanted something we hadn't tried before, and we really liked what we found here! We've been back a few times, and we've enjoyed the visits each time. The food we've tried was good and the prices were really decent, the staff is usually pretty good, waitresses who aren't even yours might stop by to make sure you're doing ok, which is nice.
