I made a reservation a month earlier to bring my wife there for Valentine's Day. We just wanted to enjoy a nice dinner at a nice place. On the plus side, the food was good. It was the service that I had a problem with. All the waiter seemed to want to do was turn the table over for the next guest, and then probably another. This is a quick review for lunch from 3/6/19. My martini was excellent as was usual. There were no lunch specials, so my table of six included two fish and chips which were OK and a Key Lime cocktail which must have had green coloring. It was 80% drunk. Instead of my usual fried green tomato Napolean, I had crab cakes and fried calamari. The sauces were tomato and a spicy remloulade, both fine. The wine list is not what is used to be but I chose Sonoma Cutrer for these. The only soup was French Onion which I did not want based on previous experience. One of us had a three vegetable plate which was good. I choose the "Petite Filet" which was grilled beyond rare and looked like no filet I've ever seen. The sweet potato casserole was far too sweet for three of us to eat; 80% was returned. Calamari was OK but contained no tentacles. The other wines by the glass were carefully presented. Desserts were not at all worth commentary; sugar doesn't count for the lack of real chocolate. Coffee was good. Sadly, this review presents a loss of quality from the previous impressive Jeffreys. read more

Ate here twice in 2 days. Sat at the bar. The bartender is great! Had a wedge salad and the seared ahi tuna first night . Both were on point! Had the blackened chicken pasta on night 2 and it was very good. Wilted spinach and fresh tomatoes helped really expand this dish. I will be back next time in Mooresville. read more

Meh. I will say the steak is good. Sides, appetizer etc...nothing else is seasoned or has flavor. The mashed potatoes tasted watered down out of a bag. Mac was not good. Shrimp...not good. Absolutely love this place. I've eaten here on several occasions and every time tried a different entree. The restaurant is a fresh, airy and clean inside with a rustic feel. It has vaulted ceilings with an open upstairs seating mezzanine area provding plenty of seating up and down with booths available. The food is just incredible. From their Caesar salmon with salmon, roasted turkey Thanksgiving dinner, to their burgers, fries and even cheesecake, everything is just delicious and cooked just right. I've never had a bad dish here. The staff are extremely welcoming and courteous, and always prompt. Glasses are constantly refilled, and orders always correct. The pricing is very reasonable even with the higher-end entrees, and you certainly get value for money. There is plenty of parking out front, and easy on/off the main road. It's not too easy to spot from the main road, but it's there --keep looking, you won't be disappointed. read more

But, this was probably the worst meal I have had in my 18 years of traveling. I had the short ribs, which were inedible due to the fat not being rendered. The baked potato was simply baked without being coated in butter and was dry. The mac 'n cheese was bland with a few Bacon Bits on top. The red wine was good. I told the waitress and she said, "Oh, really? Most people like it." No concessions; no sorries; nothing, except taking my full plate away and a $42 check. Eh, was recommended by the hotel and it was busy for lunch. An interesting menu, I went with the fried green tomatoes and portobello sandwich. Ashlee said the sweet potato fries were 2 thumbs up. Presentation was great, but she brought the tomatoes and the sandwich at the same time so I had to pick which to eat hot. The tomatoes were good, the flavor of the portobello was well seasoned but the roll was dry and slightly stale. The sweet potato fries were nothing to write home about, my expectations were certainly set higher than orange McDonald's French fries. I'd have to say it was average and I was disappointed. I work for a doctors office and we decided to order lunch one day for the staff from Jeffrey's. This was my first experience eating at Jeffrey's and let me just say, I was not disappointed. The food was fresh and delicious. The lady who took our order was so friendly and knowledgeable. She even let us fax our order in to save time on the phone! Now that's customer service!! The majority of us ordered salads and the portions were huge! The boxes were overflowing with food. It was sooooo good though. We also ordered some of their desserts (you know balance out the salads and all) and let me tell you, they have a chocolate peanut butter cake that will make you want to smack your momma. (Disclaimer: *I'm not condoning smacking your momma lol) I'd love to try this place out for dinner because they have daily specials they post on their Facebook page. Went to Jeffrey's, for my birthday, off of a recommendation from a friend. Had a group of about 15 and didn't exactly know what to expect or tell those within our party what to expect except that we heard it was good. Well we were all pleasantly surprised when our meals came out quickly, all hot and very delicious. Not one person had to send their meal back to be reheated, including my mom, and that's a feat. It's a bit laughable that this restaurant charges the prices it does, it makes you think that it must be higher quality food and service right? Wrong. Placed a pick up order and they forgot the most expensive plate, didn't notice until we got all the way home. When we called, the girl who answered the phone said "it's here at the bar, they must have forgot to put it in the bag"... so my husband had to go all the way back to grab it. They gave him the same cold plate of food that had been sitting at the bar the entire time, didn't offer to remake it so he could have hot food. Then when we tried the tuna nachos, the amount of wasabi was insane, it was completely inedible and as a huge fan of wasabi, I can honestly say it felt like I was being punk'd, it went in the trash This place may have been decent at one point, but now it's just sad. By the time I left this place I felt like a local... I grabbed a seat at the bar since I was alone and ordered the special pesto and mozzarella app. It came with marinara to dip it in, I could have eaten five of them, and not because they were small they were just that good. I went for the shaved rib eye sandwich which yes, just a sandwich but probably one of the best damn sandwiches I have had in a while!! The bartender pored some pretty stiff drinks, well ok I was drinking a bone dry martini but she made it right and filled it to the rim.. A few of the local patrons started chatting with me and by the time i finished my food and drink I ordered another to hang out and chat. Super friendly staff as well as patrons, conveniently located by a group of hotels so that's a bonus for me since I travel.. Looking forward to trying the filet next time since the lady next to me ordered it and literally said, you know you wish you got this and yes it's that good.. Lol.. I hade a wonderful dinner experience here. I ordered the short ribs with risotto and also had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The fried green tomatoes had an excellent presentation, four thick cut tomato slices fried on a bed of arugula and topped with a tasty sauce and a slice of bacon on each. I would have appreciated the bacon being crumbled or sliced over the tomato so I could not struggle to eat it with each bite and have a uniform tasting experience, but overall very good. I liked that they served bread while we waited. Positive note is that the bread was crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. My short ribs were very tasty! They fell right off the bone (expectation met! Wohoo!) and they were seasoned very nicely. I wish I could have tasted the herbs/wine a little more, but overall, I was very pleased. They served a very generous portion. I left full to the brim--no regrets here! You get a choice of side, and I chose the risotto du jour which was cheddar. The consistency was a bit thicker than I would prefer for a risotto, but honestly, it was so good I didn't care. They served it with asparagus. The restaurant called to confirm the reservation I made, and I was very pleased with the customer service from the phone call all the way up to our server Gary who handled our table of 11 like a pro! The entrance could be more clearly marked. We didn't know where to enter, but the bartender directed us where to go once we entered in on the side. Although the dinner prices are what I'd consider $$-$$$, the portions made it well worth the cost. read more

Their burger is amazing, what I expect from a high end steak house, exactly like I cook at home...thick, juicy and right off the grill. I had the pork chop tonight, which is also thick and expertly grilled. The salad was top notch steak house salad. I haven't had a moment of bad experience yet. Jan. 21, 2020 Queen's Feast with 4 other couples. Appetizers (hot?)were served barely warm. I, very discretely, (and very nicely) told the server on my way to the men's room. I cautioned her we to make certain the entrees were served hot. She, apparently, ignored me! Six of our group had to send their entrees back to be reheated. The server offered several flimsy excuses as to why the food was not hot!! There are many restaurants in the Lake Norman area that I would rather spend $140 a couple at! Tonight was my first night eating at Jeffrey's... Since today was a day of just giving up and going for it, I continued the trend here tonight. Fish... Crawfish... and some Ribs... OH. MY. I gotta behave the rest of the month. So first off, my current favorite wine is Zinfandel. It just has the most balance of flavor and body in a red. So I went straight for that when we sat down this evening. Exactly what I was expecting. And needed. I am no Sommelier, so I will not make any attempt to truly break this one down for you. We had reservations so water was already on the table and the wine quickly came out after ordering it. With a large party, it was suggested that we sit upstairs as it was a little more private. It was perfect. They did a very nice job of making the group feel special for a couple birthdays that we were celebrating. My wife and I ordered the fried green tomatoes. My usually complaint with FGTs would be that the battery easily falls off when you try to cut them. Not here. They were cooked perfectly and the texture was amazing. I hate fighting with my vegetables and, tonight, I did not have to. The candied bacon and Cajun remoulade were perfect on top of this app. For dinner, I had the Blackened Mahi with Crawfish Bisque: lightly spiced and seared mahi with crawfish bisque on rice and asparagus. Bomb... Just bomb. I had 2 lunches today (because I was hungry and THEN had a lunch meeting) so I wasn't particularly hungry going into dinner tonight, then add the delicious app that I inhaled. So I wasn't expecting to eat a whole lot. Fast forward 16 minutes and the entire plate was gone. The mini crawfish were cooked perfectly. They weren't super chewy and had a very nice flavor to them. The bisque that was poured over the meal was excellent and creamy and seasoned just right. Growing up, my absolute favorite fish was Mahi Mahi. Good ole' Jeffrey did not disappoint this evening. I usually wonder where any fish comes from in the part of the state because we are a few hours from the coast. Tonight, I forgot to wonder. The mahi was great. Cooked well, fell apart just as you need it to, not fighting back when you pushed your fork into it.. My favorite moment of the night was finishing the plate off. There was just enough of the bisque to cover the rice the mahi was served over. Even though the portion of food was perfect for this evening, I am always wanting more food. This was just the most amazing way of finishing the night off. No. Dessert. Needed. The takeaways: A little on the higher end - While I feel the dress is comfy casual for the most part, don't come in off the docks here. And the prices reflect that. My entree was $22. Worth it for good food. Delish - Food was good. I mean, real good. Take your time and enjoy it. Service - Gary was our server this evening. Great job G. 10 people isn't the hardest table but it also isn't a walk in the park. Service was prompt, drinks were filled and G was excellent in helping with anything we needed. Going above and beyond for the birthday girls. Vibe - Again... higher end but not super bougie. Head here for Wednesday night dinner with friends or take the sweetie out on a special date. read more
