Food was absolutely delicious the best shrimp and grits and tuna nachos I've ever had

in for dinner with friends celebrating 16 years of matrimonial happiness. Seating for a dozen+ upstairs was kinda swanky but noise from the service galley frequently carried in and got on my nerves some. service was competent, attentive, and friendly but a couple things got lost in translation to my dismay... evening started off well with greetings and yapping and what not. we got seated and watered, made requests for apps, beverages, and food and the dining commenced apace: baskets of sliced breads and softened butters and plates of peppered oil for dipping arrived first followed by drinks and apps :-) no cherry brandy so bartender's choice yields a beachtini... pale yellow, cloudy, and boozy with a sunk cherry that goes well with almond and raspberry sauce on a melty brie pie. I am no cheese connoisseur but the flavours played together famously :-) fish and chips were up next; hot and light and crispy and quite good pairing nicely with shredded white slaw. unfortunately MLB's grouper was held up until nearly after dinner (our bill was generously adjusted, thank you.) she said it was fine and got about halfway through during story time before cake was served. read more

I really like this place. The feel is old brewery and is great for business lunches or a lunch date. There were a lot of corporate people having lunch here because it was quick and wide variety. Because of my current diet, I chose to get a chicken/corn chowder that was pretty delicious. If i closed my eyes, i swear i was sipping down and chewing on some very tender clam chowder. I ordered a very conservative wedge salad with blue cheese...the protein i chose was my go to, low fat/sodium ahi tuna. the tuna was prepared just right (fire kissed/raw), and i ordered the blue cheese dressing on the side for fear that i might feel like i ate a cheeseburger again, even though it was a salad. the combination was perfect, and at a very conservative price for lunch. Are here a Monday and Tuesday night. Monday at 530pm it was slow, not many people in the restaurant. I actually like the decor and the lighting was perfect. They have outside seating area that you can sit out and have cocktails by the fire place. Plenty of outside seating if there was a wait to get in. Monday night my husband ordered their 12 oz Nee York Strip MR with sautéed mushrooms mash potatoes and asparagus. He also ordered a side Caesar salad. The steak was a bit tough, ok on flavor not to bad. If you been to a Texas Roadhouse the steak would be below the Roadhouse. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and it was served with a relish sauce that I actually thought was good. That was my first time trying fried green tomatoes. I wouldn't say the tomatoes stood out. The relish was a plus to the dish. I also ordered a small Wedge salad, it was also good. Service was quick since there weren't many people there and our server was very attentive. Second night we were not so lucky. It was very busy, still tables to sit but larger parties there for dinner. I wasn't that hungry so I just ordered the Caesar (added Blacken Shrimp) Salad. My husband ordered the blacken Mahi Mahi with rice and asparagus and a small Caesar salad. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get ordered place. While sitting there I had noticed a party of 6 guys across from us. Looked to been there probably 20 minutes before us. I realized our food would be a long time once I saw they got their food about half hour after we sat down. I would say we were about 45 minutes in before we got our order. Our server looked a bit frazzled, maybe she just had too many tables to handle all at once. When we got the our order she ordered something else along with what we ordered that she said I asked for as well. Which I didn't, she took it back with no problems. My husband fish looked like it was drowning in sauce. For me personally it would be a great dish with out all that wine sauce. My salad was fine, the blacken spice was a bit much. My first bite of shrimp made me grab my drink quickly to get the strong salted taste out of my mouth. It just had too much blacken spice on it. Once we were done it took awhile to get ticket (had to ask another server to grab our waitress). Then a few more minutes to get our ticket back so we could leave. It's sorta a shame that the food does not match the beauty of the restaurant. They could have a real winner here if they can stay consistent with food and service. read more

Salmon was nice texture and moist, but fishy (more so than salmon normally is) and Taryaki too strong. Parmasean risotto would have been great, but just too much of the seasoning. Same w sautéed spinach. Beef rib off the bone special had a very strong taste. Mashed potatoes also too heavily flavored. Neither of us finished even half our meals. We didn't say anything. It was as though the chef honestly had taste bud issues. The flavor was nice, just way too much. Both the kids loved their food and they are pretty picky. Really good food in a very basic restaurant setting. Nothing special with the interior but the food was pretty good. Went with a buddy who ordered the Potato Skins for an appetizer as well as the Salmon for his dinner. I went with the Bang Bang Shrimp Appetizer and Iceberg Wedge Salad with Grilled Shrimp for my main course. All the courses were better than average. Service was good and reasonably priced. read more

Terrible service. Waited 25 mins to pick up to go food that was sitting on a shelf behind the bar. The bartender said one moment while seeing me with my card out ready to pay and go. She goes to the other side of the bar and asks someone with their glass half full if they would like another drink. Proceeds to ignore me while I'm staring at my food on the shelf. Finally takes my card, I leave the restaurant, and the order was wrong and of course freezing since it was sitting there for well over a half an hour. We got the duck and there was 4 quarter sized pieces smothered with way more oranges than necessary. Mashed potatoes were so dry. Not great. read more

We are from Charleston, SC, a land of Many Excellent Restaurants. We are in Mooresville for a wedding and last evening after a Greeting Party we felt the need for a night cap and maybe a snack. Right next to our hotel, we noticed a sign over a door -- BAR!!! Sounded like us! It was close to closing, but we asked this very unattractive waitress -- KENNEDY I think was her name -- if they were by chance still serving. With a very Negative Tone she said that if we hurried up and ordered, she'd see what she could scrape up. OK, I can't take this any further. When we walked in, we were greeted by a Very Attractive, Cheerful, Bar Keeper who even actually appeared to be glad we had stopped in even this close to closing. Were cheerfully given menus and drinks. To shorten this up this was the one of the most PLEASANT experiences I have ever enjoyed in a restaurant. KENNEDY said she was actually happy to be there and glad to to still be there -- this is after a 15 hour day. Where the Hell do you hear that kind of Optimism these days. KENNEDY YOU ARE AWESOME and we think your place of employment is right up there also. I'm certain we will be back -- Probably this evening. I told you that I was going to write you a Scathing review, So Scathe, Scathe, Scathe!!!! It pains me after being a restaurant reviewer for my newspaper, and a life of catering, kitchens, and food service, and especially since I've been to Jeffrey's several times with great results, to say this was a disaster for both of us. My so-called beef roll was the dried up scrapings from the bottom of the beef roast pan. My friends quiche had very few eggs, was inadequately cooked and consisted of smelly shrimp which also tasted over the hill. And the menu was $2-3 more expensive than usual. My next door neighbor was a shrimp dealer; he said to rescue smelly shrimp you wash it repeatedly in batches of baking soda water until the fish are oK. In case you are not sure, give 1 shrimp to a cat; they'll never touch spoiled food. I've done the washing trick myself several times and it works. It gets a single star because the service was great, prompt and pleasant. We all know the supply chain is a problem but the best thing a restauranteur can do is simply take something off the menu. No point in getting a bad rep trying to serve a dish so flawed. read more

While we have dined at Jeffrey's many times. today was the first time in over two years that we have eaten lunch at Jeffreys on a Sunday. Not a real brunch per se because there are no breakfast items but just a staight lunch menu. No problem because while my wife does not like breakfast so a lunch is more in line with her tastes and as for me, I can go either way. Walked in promptly at 11:00 when they opened having come over from Church. Hostess indicated that we could seat outselves anywhere we wanted since we were the first patrons so we found a big table by one of the windows. Our server was very prompt with the menus and took our order for coffee which was promptly dispatched. Very good coffee I might add. I ordered the Reuben with the 11 hours aged Corned Beef and Red Cabbage while my wife ordered a Monte Christo. For sides she got the Mac anc Cheese and I had the sour cream bacon potatoe salad. This is where our first problem occured. They were out of Corned Beef and would not have more till the next day. Fall back postion was the Crab Cake Sandwich which turned out quite good. My wife enjoyed her Monte Christo as well so we both ended up happy. Would recommend Jeffrey's to anyone seeking out a good place for lunch or dinner. read more

Delicious meal, huge portions, nice ambiance, & friendly wait staff highlight Jeffrey's. The pacing of the wait staff would have to be my only complaint. My parents & I came her for my mom's 68th birthday dinner. My dad & I had never been. We walked right in (on a Saturday evening around 5:45) & got seated. We immediately were served water, but we waited a while before our waiter even came to greet us. When he did, he asked about other beverages, which we responded that water would be fine. He walked off. Why?! The time we waited after being seated, we had ample time to make our meal choices. Our waiter was nice & friendly, but just took too long in the beginning & end, while waiting for change. Our food was delicious. My parents each had steak, baked potato, asparagus & a salad. I had this huge plate of two fried flounder fillets, two giant shrimp, two scallops, fries, & slaw (see my pic). The batter was light & oh so tasty. Fries were perfectly cooked, too & the slaw was amazingly southern. Prices are pretty steep, but again, quality & quantity here, folks. Parking isn't an issue. read more

I've been a patron of this restaurant for several years but this last visit did me in. The service was good. The pork chop and 4 spears of asparagus were good. Appetizer was just OK. But when I got the bill, there were three totals and no one, not the waiter or the manager could explain it. Total was listed as $62.53. But underneath was Credit total of $52.70 and Cash total of $60.13. UMMMM, what did I owe??? I don't mind paying for my meal and I tip generously. But after hearing explanations of how credit card fees have gone up and they now pass these charges along to patrons, I was still confused. Out of curiosity and being a math nerd, once home, I tried to figure it out. It looks like taxes and gratuity were calculated with the credit card surcharge in total, then taken out if paid in cash. I give up! I feel sorry for the wait staff. They get the short end of the stick when your bill is incomprehensible. On a positive note, getting seated and parking at Jeffrey's is a snap, as the parking and capacity is way below half of what it once was. And now and my dozen friends will not be returning, so it will only get better, as there are so many other options! read more

This restaurant is a living bio-hazard. No enforcement of mask policy, including the kitchen staff, bar staff, and the manager. The kitchen manager had her face over drinks and food less than a foot away. The overall manager came to talk with me and she insisted that the Sheriff said no enforcement (or even recommendations to patrons) are necessary. This is contrary to governor's refs in place. She went as far to say that she wears her mask 100% of the time, and I challenged her to a gentleman's bet as I have photos that say otherwise. If you are an anti-mask person, you will be fine here. But, when (not if) this place shuts down due to a positive test. I wish you luck if you catch COVID. Aside from feeling sick, you will be getting other sick as well. And then comes the medical bills that will be in the thousands for the compromised. I will post pictures shortly, but wanted to get this feedback out ASAP. I had a similar experience as someone else had with the older blonde lady. Her customer service skills are terrible to greeting and seating people. She is like a mad white woman. Food is always great at Jeffrey's. I love love their fried green tomatoes. Steak and potatoes are always great and cooked well. I've never had a bad meal. This is why I gave them a 3 star.. They deserve a 5 if they rid themselves of the old blond lady on the frontline.. However, get the old blonde lady away from greeting and seating people I may come back. I cannot spend money if I walk away needing a psychiatrist to help me with the mental anguish I received from an old mad hag! Epic or 131 Main here I come!! read more

Jeffreys is undeniably the best restaurant in the Mooresville area. The food is served hot and fast and the portions are phenomenal. The atmosphere is much like being at home enjoying time with family...They make you feel so welcomed and are very attentive to your beverage and always checks in to assure you are happy with what you ordered. An added treat is the live music they provide to compliment an already perfect atmosphere. The Kevin Jones Experiencing is my favorite band and they perform there twice monthly. I highly recommend this family friendly business. They never disappoint. read more

Was so excited to try this place since we moved not too far. We came around 2 for a late lunch. Took forever for the hostess to come to the station. Entrance was a little confusing since we came in through the side door. I guess you enter at the patio. Service was ok, didn't come back to check on us until we finished eating. So I've never been there till tonight and met some friends. I ordered the red snapper and grits. They served me tilapia. Not red snapper. Tilapia. TILAPIA. Anyone can tell the difference. About 5 oz of (not the right kind of fish) and a bit of grits, I left $50 poorer and went home for dinner because the portion was so small I left hungry. Picked up the tab for the friends we met. Went to Jeffrey's with a large group for a celebration dinner. I had the scallops over a creamy butter-citrus risotto which was amazing. The scallops were not over-cooked and were melt in your mouth delicious! The restaurant was at full capacity and even being short-staffed the service was great! We showed up on 11/11/23. My fiancé and I came to this place never having been here before. The hostess was absolutely wonderful. Asked us about if we had a reservation (we didn't) and used that information to find us a seat without interruption of other guests. Top notch service. The environment was nice. Some of it could have used some updating i.e. paint on some trim, but mostly it was great. Now when it came to the waitress, it then became atrocious. We saw her no more than 4 times. Didn't fill my fiancés soda, didn't check on how our food was and only cared when the check came. Our food was freezing cold, the mac and cheese had a skin that formed from sitting at the pass for too long, she did not even care at all. We clearly weren't the money table she was hoping to have. There was another waitress who was busting her butt all night that we saw, so it wasn't the standard, it was just one server. We ordered the NY strip and the 6 oz fillet. Both were ice cold on the outside and clearly were sitting at the pass for a long time. The waitress forgot to bring it to us. It took almost 40 minutes for us to even get the entree. for an $83 dollar bill, I couldn't even forgive the service she provided. We were going to get dessert but with how bad of service we got, we decided to pass. I unfortunately will not be coming here again. I want to make this clear, this was solely due to one person, and not the restaurant itself. The FOH was wonderful, the restaurant was good, just the waitress caused both the service look bad and the food to be terrible. If we had it while it was hot, I grantee it would have been good. We had high hopes for this restaurant and loved how close it is to our apt but when we finally dined there, it was very underwhelming. The outside patio is very nice and they had live music so that was a nice experience. But the service was very slow and the food was not good. The bread was really the only thing we liked. My husband had the burger and noted it did not taste right and it made him sick. I had the salad with chicken and the chicken was not the best. I've now eaten here 3 times. I've had bad service every time. Bad food one out of those three times. The other two, the food was very good. If you're going to charge $35 for an entree, I expect the service to be at a high level. That is not the case at Jeffrey's. I was a server for many years while in college. So, I'm generally more forgiving than the average patron because I've been in their shoes, and understand how easy it is to fall in to the weeds. That being said, there is no excuse for the sorry service that this restaurant provides. 25 minutes for our first round of drinks, having to request basic utensils to eat our food from 3 separate people, having to share a fork with my significant other because they took her when they cleared the salad, entrees that showed up 30 seconds after the salad was served, but don't worry they assured us that the steak would not be under a heat lamp, instead they would just place a cover over the dish while we ate our soup and salad.
