I will drive ONE HOUR for GREAT FOOD! That's what I said to Dr. Tony Martin, a friend for 30 some odd years, before getting a handshake and a hug. It's true, 61 miles from house to his latest concept: Annthony's at The Landing on Lake Norman. What a great location...kind of DIVEY kind of ECLECTIC! Locations have changed over the years but not the FOODS. Between my wife, myself and our daughter we had 1/4 White, 1/4 Dark, Tropical Fried Shrimp, Mac and Cheese, Callaloo Greens, Potato Salad, Black Beans and Cabbage. We tried all of the sauces... Island, Mild Jerk and Spicy Jerk. Our 8 year old daughter loved everything she tried. It had been several years since last eating with Tony and today was like coming home. We will be making the one hour drive once a month to get our fill. Hats off to Linda who has been Tony's Manager, and right hand, for as long as I can remember. Do yourself a favor and make the trip. If you looking for bar food with a Caribbean flair it's a good place, drinks are cold, rode our jet skis and docked was super easy. Plenty of outdoor seating. Our server Bella was great super attentive! My only complaint is that I asked for 3 different items and they were all not available. read more

This place is a hidden gem. We had heard of it from friends and finally decided to check it out. To start with the vibe is very island style and chill. The service was very good. Alyssa was attentive and courteous checking back from time to time to make sure everything was good. April took the time to explain the menu which was very helpful. The food was delicious. Totally enjoyed the mojito shrimp taco and crab cake. My wife really liked the wings, plantains and mac & cheese. We intend to come back with friends. read more

The disappointment and regret you will feel after dining here lingers for hours. We felt this after ordering a $20 pork platter that ended up resembling something you would get at a school cafeteria. Small portions did not at all represent a platter. The service was excellent, but even their hard work can't mask the horrible food. I don't get the concept of caribbean food with a southern flair - there is no flair to the food, it's very plain and not very flavorful. it's a shame, because the location is pretty nice. There is potential here. My advice would be to ditch the menu and start over with better options. read more

Do not EVER try and come here by boat. The boat slips are now used for the boat club and not the restaurant patrons. The food is awful. They were out of wings, Mac n cheese and wraps. Go to the damn grocery store. Cheeseburger had a weird seasoning. Greens had an awful flavor. The grilled cheese was the only edible thing at the table. No one was in there which was the first sign but after waiting an hour to get a slip we stuck around. Used to love the wings, ribs, cheese steaks and pizzas. read more

First time trying under new menu. We had an order of the spicy jerk chicken wings and they were amazing and plump. I also had the island burger and it was great. Service was good and live music gave it a good island tiki bar feel. We'll definitely be back. If you plan on coming via boat be aware they have limited parking since they are using it for a boat club now. read more

Just tried the food, but first I ordered a draft beer and was told three of the four taps were not working. Ok. Then my wife ordered the chicken wrap and was told they were out of it. Next she ordered the nachos with chicken and you guessed it no chicken so she got the Cuban pork. When she started eating it the nacho were coated in oil and the beans were room temperature. She told waitress who offered to replace order but my wife said no thanks. I would not have written this review but they charged us for the food we sent back. Customer Service? No thanks I go somewhere else next time. Oh and the waitress said the owner was on site and the owners son worked in the kitchen but did anyone but the waitress ask us about the food we sent back, no. Being open a few weeks I would think they would want to know and keep customers coming back. read more

The place has gone downhill. I must admit this review was for a few months ago. Was there summer of 2024 and had. I had the nachos which came out in a can. The waitress said we could flip the can or she could do it. They were the best nachos I had ever had. Our meals were great. I couldn't wait to get the Nachos again but wasn't able to get back until the end of summer. It had changed. It had a different name it was now Anthony's at the landing. We sat outside waiting for service that took forever. I ordered my nachos my husband ordered a hamburger with fries. My nacho's came out nacho chips on a plate with melted cheese like cheese wiz on it nothing else. Where the ones we had before were loaded. We asked the waitress did we order the wrong ones she said " oh we don't have them anymore yeah everybody says that it's different since it's Anntony's now'. My husband couldn't believe the burger it was small and horrible. He didn't even finish it. On the plus side glad we found this out before we brought our relatives from out of town there. Anntony's has done a great job revamping the Landing's menu with Caribbean offerings such as jerk chicken and roasted pork. The atmosphere is fun inside and out. Service has always been good at this location, and you can still find many familiar faces. The only drawback is that you will find it extremely difficult to find a boat slip. read more

All my stars are related to outdoor atmosphere on a spectacular summer evening, and they had a live musician. We ordered a plate to share and almost laughed at how small the portion was. 1 plate, 1 appetizer, 2 drinks = $50. Sadly, the food was not very good either. I just want to say this place has good cocktails but the worst food on the lake in my opinion. You will get more food in a McDonald's happy meal then here it is a joke how many fries you get I question who ate all the fries the chicken sandwich was awful dry mediocre at best don't waste your money . read more

Service was great, we both had the Bahama burger and it was very good. Very large meat patty that was juicy, the fried plantain and white sauce gave burger a new and fun flavor, I had seasoned fries that were well cooked, friend had the Mac n cheese, which was flavorful but not super creamy. The food is amazing. The dishes I have tried have all been delicious. I had a bowl tonight with roast pork on rice and black beans as a side. I just combined it all together on my plate and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had a piece of the spice bread as dessert. Lovely dinner with excellent service. read more

And with the new location on the landing Anntony's is finding it's vibe. I would and have recommended to come in or order out. Give it a try. We used to come all the time when it was under different ownership. We came by boat and now most of the boat parking is taken up by boat rentals with little parking for the restaurant. We tired to order and were told they were out of everything besides grilled cheese with only 1 burger left for the whole restaurant, and no chicken left. Tried it a second time hoping it was because they were "new" and same thing happened. Hopefully they will get the food ordering figured out. read more
