Went to Jeff's today forgetting most people around here have no power so everyone was going out to eat in addition to the after Church Sunday crowd. The good was still amazing and the staff was very friendly and engaging even though they were working their tails off. Always have great food but would have understood if today had been an off day. The good: $5.99 steak 'n eggs (w/country or hashbrowns and toast). Plateful of steak, eggs, potatoes. Like real large. High quality. Cute/friendly waitress (not large---guy in neghboring booth kept looking at her fanny- -- I should have smacked him). Country music video on the TV (not large, either). 2 law enforcement pals chowing down (1 large cop --dude is a walking by-pass candidate--- and one slim cop who only has to worry about spending his large public pension). Great meal for the money. Would satisfy any wide-bodied person who frequents Walmart. I'll be back. PS I am not large/fat never will be in need of a by pass and have never been in a Walmart. read more

Nice alternative to the usual breakfast joints in town. For a Saturday morning, I was surprised to see the parking lot wasn't full and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Although the restaurant isn't very big, I've never seen it crowded. Maybe it's just far enough down the street, tourists don't see it from the highway and bible thumpers must already have their post service joints marked. We've eaten here once before for lunch and remember it being a standard "greasy spoon". Kinda like truck stop food. There are some t.v.'s that show sports or country videos. I didn't really watch. There's a small salad bar. The staff seems pretty friendly and accommodating. Give it a try, something different from Denny's, Lion's or the Lumberjack (which are all within spitting distance from each other). read more

This is a great breakfast and lunch joint. Friendly service, good food and great prices. The specials (that end at 11:00 AM) the last time we were there were; Chicken Fried Steak eggs potatoes and toast - $3.99, Big slice of ham eggs potatoes and toast - $4.99, and a smallish breakfast steak and eggs potatoes and toast -$5.99. The full menu is available anytime they are open (7 AM to 3 PM) INCLUDING THE SALAD BAR, which is a big deal to me as I'm on a crusade to make a salad for breakfast available on every menu. Hambugers are very good and the standard is a 1/2 lb patty, but alas I haven't ventured past the breakfast or burgers yet so I won't comment on the rest of the menu. read more

They have a huge breakfast. The skillets are great. The cups are cute. I forgot what the pancakes taste like though :( maybe it is time to go back. Who I went with got the chicken fried steak. That was so good. Usually this is a miss because it's dry meat that is hard to chew and has too much salt. This was completely different. The meat itself had flavor but was not salty. It was not cooked to a second death. It was just right. Very tender and juicy. The batter had flavor to it. It came with a huge biscuit which was really big and flaky. The butter to put on it was whipped so it was so easy to spread and it melted pretty easily when you put it on the warm biscuit. The hashbrows were also great. They were Cooked well and actually brown which made them crispy. Good country breakfast with huge portions of food. read more

Great atmosphere, good breakfast, friendly staff. They keep your coffee cup full and hot. Breakfast is quick and tasty. Eggs aren't over cooked, waffle is done perfectly and served with warm maple syrup! They know people don't want to make their warm eaffle cold with syrup! read more

Eat here only place in redding go to get breakfast. I always bring friends and family and introduce them to this place and they love it just as much as me. I recomend it to everyone. Always AMAZING service and AMAZING food. Sometimes food can take a minute but I would personally rather have my food take a minute to get fresh food than get it quickly and it be gross. Jeffs California Cattle Company is one of the best restaurants in Redding. Everytime I go here, I get incredible service and food. My favorite thing to order the 16 dollar burger. It's gigantic and delicious and they just load it with everything. All there food is great and comes in big portions. This place has it all. read more

Great place to get a ton of food for a good price. It's usually pretty packed but I've never had to wait too long for a table. Which is saying a lot considering it's not a big restaurant to begin with and it's a popular place. Service has always been good. I like that they will accommodate anything you ask for regarding substitutions. Food is good. I usually stick to things like omelettes, French toast, pancakes, or biscuits and gravy. We have gone there many times. I will say this is the best restaurant in Redding. We came back today. Due to the fires in Redding. They were packed. We were on a waitlist. This is one of several restaurants owned by the same indibual. I started with him when he had a little place with about four stools. I go here for breakfast when my car is being serviced next door. They have a special on chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast. The last time i was there i was about 20 minutes late for that special, but the waitress let me order it anyway. I have only had breakfast here and that has been excellent. The staff was attentive and helpful. I do not understand why Mavericks (another of his restaurants) did not make it. Lumberjacks only a couple of blocks away is also good. read more

Went shopping in Redding with a friend and we were sick of eating at the same chain restaurants so went looking for something local. We took a chance and just rolled the dice and ended up at Jeffs and what a great choice. We both had the chicken ranch wrap and it was perfect, nicely marinated moist chicken and perfect amount of dressing. This place is okay, if you are not on your lunch hour. It takes forever to get waited on here. This time it took over 10 minutes to get our drinks and over half an hour to get our food, and we let them know that we were on our lunch hour. I have eaten lunch here 3 times over the past year and was late getting back to work each time. We were not the only ones complaining either. Due to the quality of the food and slowness of the staff (not sure if the wait staff is to blame or kitchen staff), that is the last time I will darken their doors. read more

Portions are great! Food taste great! The kitchen isn't the fastest, nor are they always prepared. I ordered a Cobb Salad and they didn't have the hard boiled eggs. Instead of giving the option to order something else, they served the salad and the hot boiled egg about 15 minutes later. Cleanliness, well.... Not so great. First time for breakfast here. Quantity was very good, service was good, flavor was pretty much middle of the road. I had the French toast and eggs-good fluffy bread but the batter was bland. The syrup was warm which is a big plus! Bacon was over cooked but the eggs were cooked perfectly. Marty had the Big John Redneck Bennie. Gravy was ok, sausage was bland, biscuit was ok. Ham steak was very good and eggs were poached properly. Hash browns were good. Decaf was typical mass produced beverage. Reasonable pricing. read more
