I'm always in the mood for Mediterranean food and my wife hears about this little place. It's tucked away in a Chevron service station. There are 3 tables inside. They are basic, but very comfortable. The service is wonderful. We ordered the chicken kabob plate. It comes with a small salad, hummus, and pita. 8 pieces of chicken! The chicken is tender and delicious. The garlic paste adds flavor. There is ample rice. The hummus rounds everything out. The owner made the falafel fresh and it was so good -- one of the best falafels I've had in awhile. This is definitely a hidden gem in Bakersfield and when I say it's hidden It's even inside the chevron gas station. This is my first time trying their food and I'll definitely be back. I ordered the falafel wrap and my husband got the beef kebab wrap. The order is made fresh to order right in front of you, they pack the ingredients which I appreciate and the serving is plentiful. It was delicious, and fresh. I've tried falafel before and it can be dry but this was not dry. Staff was very welcoming, willing to give suggestions and location was clean and service didn't take a long time. The atmosphere and staff were welcoming. This is a great spot to get a bite on the run. While traveling back home from Las Vegas. We located a quick bite along our route. I love Shawarmas, so we stopped by. I met Jeje and was pleasantly surprised reasonable pricing, clean, kitchen, new equipment and a friendly smile and awesome service. I ordered the chicken, it was good, but I was not familiar with the flat iron grill press method used to toast wrap, not that familiar with that toasting method. I'm a big bold flavor guy and I was hoping for more flavor with the chicken first and foremost..... I noticed the chicken was a bit dry, I'm glad I got sauces. "Tip"....I worked in this industry doing the same thing and we marinated our Chicken over night in a 5 - 10 gallon Kitchen container with seasoning and more! This would make sure that when we grilled meat it was moist and flavorful. Overall I liked it and will give them another try when I pass through Bakersfield next time..... I would differently recommend them for a quick bite on the run or dine in! I like my wrap lightly toasted on top of the flat grill without the Case Iron Press personally. It's a bit pricy but it's better than Flame and Skewer. I was a bit disappointed because it was my first time there and they offered for me to try their Ribeye Plate, which I was excited to try, then they tell me that they don't have ribeye. So, I got the beef kabob, which was good. I was just disappointed that they didn't give me my pita bread that was supposed to be included and I had even asked for it. But overall it was good taste wise. Maybe I'll go back to try the Ribeye and hopefully get my pita bread read more

Wow, what a find! It was one the best kabobs that I've ever had. There's been more and more food gems popping up in gas stations. This one of them. We stumbled upon it while passing through. The nearby Tesla charging station and the gas station housing Jeje's make it a must stop to refuel the car and body. The chef (owner) was gracious and clearly proud to serve his food--and for good reason. It would be great to see a few more seats inside but we happily sat in our car and enjoyed the delicious meal. Had the pleasure of meeting Jeje and her sister(mother ). They are an absolute delight. The food was delicious! We ordered two beef kabobs plates and man oh man was it all packed with flavor! The rice had a hint of cardamon and either saffron or turmeric. It was very good. The side salad was a Greek type salad with lettuce and vinegar and was very refreshing and tasty. The tahini and garlic sauce were onnn point and complimented the food perfectly. Jeje even gave us a little side of pomegranate molasses sauce while we were eating and it was such a nice little addition to the kebab. The place is inside of the chevron so it's a little hidden but maps will take you straight there. Inside seating is limited to 1 table 4 chairs but it's not a big deal to stand and eat or just sit outside on the sidewalk. Restroom is very clean inside the gas station. If your driving by and your hungry definitely stop by this place is great and the employees are all kind. Gas station clerk was chill AF as well. read more

Jeje's Kitchen is one of a kind. I knew as soon as the chunks of ribeye kebab's came out to the grill I made the right decision. I ordered the beef shawarma and ribeye plate. Plate came with a bed of rice, salad, and a heap of garlic paste. With the grilled tomatoes and onions oof. And the shawarma... words fail me but I urge you to not miss out. You're in good hands. Warm, welcoming and ready to set you straight with a side of tahini. It's an unassuming spot inside Chevron. You may not notice the full kitchen on entry just keep going forward and right. Tasty and friendly. I had the chicken shwarma wrap and hummus. They were full of flavor... the wrap is grilled and had a touch of heat and grilled veggies. I could take a little more heat, but I bet that is something I could ask for next time and that my request would be accomodated. This grill is located at the InstaStop Chevron station across from Costco and is a nice alternative for a quick, freshly prepared meal. Such good food inside a gas station mini mart. Well seasoned meats with fresh ingredients. So much better than the usual fast food.

We stopped by to the use the restroom at the Chevron from our drive to San Francisco and were starting to get hungry! We noticed a little restaurant inside and the owner was just setting up. He was super friendly and let us try a falafel. WOW! All my life I have never had such a fluffy, crispy and delicious falafel till today. It wasn't greasy at all and I probably could've eaten a dozen of those. I shared a falafel sandwich on a pita with my husband and we regrettably did not order two to begin with. It was the perfect balance of everything. Their hummus is also safe for work! You will not reek like a garlic farm afterwards. The hummus was also the best I've ever had, literally. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and a chicken protein bowl! I got a side of pita chips and hummus and tzatziki! They make each order fresh and in front of you so it's guaranteed to be perfect! My Bestfriend came in later in the day to get more pita chips and hummus and the tzatziki because I shared everything with her and she also fell in love it! The portions are ginormous! I'm pregnant and can out eat a ton of people and I still had half my bowl left for dinner! The owner makes every single thing fresh everyday...that's the best hummus and tzatziki I've ever had and the bowl and shawarma were close seconds!
