Jelly serves up great dishes and service. We ordered 4 donut holes. I like that you can mix and match these sweet little treats. The cinnamon & sugar, Mexican chocolate and jelly filled donut holes were all tasty and perfectly sized. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint. The ham was thinly sliced and layered on the biscuit and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I appreciated the option to choose a side. I chose the mixed greens which came with mandarin orange slices and were drizzled in a berry vinaigrette. This slightly sweet salad paired nicely with the savory eggs Benedict. The seating was a little cramped because it was busy. The bench seat against the wall is small and our table was also pretty small so it seemed like we had to shuffle drinks and plates. I want to start by saying I have gone here for years and I have consistently loved the quality of the food and service. I went to DU Very close by, and recently went to visit close by so my fiancé could try the food. It's always a 8/10 or better. I literally haven't had a bad meal here. Also the staff! Ugh they are so nice. They have such cool style, and I appreciate that they can be individuals with their own style. The actual building is so awesome as well. I love the cereal decoration, and the old school bar area. Honestly I wish that they could be bigger. That would be my only complaint. The wait is LONG on a busy weekend. My advice is to go early, and be patient. It's worth it because the staff is quick and efficient and the food has never been too long of a wait. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews but my partner and I were hugely disappointed by our experience at Jelly today. I ordered the haco chili benedict and found it to be inedible. While the egg was nicely poached, the biscuit did not have the structural integrity to hold up the chili and turned into a wet slop with absolutely no texture at all. It felt like eating baby food. The potatoes that came on the side were cold and unseasoned. My partner ordered the bacon pancakes and they had a gummy, undercooked texture. The mixins (bacon, corn, scallion) were sparse so the whole experience was bland, but the gummy texture was what made it inedible. We did not eat even half of either plate and we did not take our leftovers home (almost unheard of in our budget-conscious household!) We also ordered a plate of 8 donut holes, which were okay but not great, and the toppings were hit or miss. Salted caramel, thai peanut mexican chocolate, cinnamon sugar, and maple bacon were good. Avoid the lemon, jelly, and creme anglaise. I'm sorry to say that we won't be back. read more

Jelly is a great brunch spot right off of university. With many options to choose from in the DU area, Jelly does a good job of standing out. They are consistently a good spot to check out. Given the current environment, they've done a good job of making you feel safe. You place your order at the counter and then they bring your order out to you. Food came out incredibly fast. We had sweet potatoes hash, bloody mary, Irish coffee, cauliflower hash and the basic breakfast. It was delicious. The highlight was obviously the donuts!! We had the Jelly Stuffed, Creme Anglaise, Cinnamon Sugar, and Salted Caramel. It keeps you coming back for more! Always recommend Jelly as a great go to Jelly spot!! read more

I fully support a livable wage, but it's much more palatable to the consumer if it's incorporated into the menu prices rather than seeing an additional surcharge. We're nickeled and dimed by airlines, cell phone companies, delivery services, tv apps, etc. It would be nice just to see a price and the required taxes. read more

Food - 2 stars. Added a star bc of the good service. The donut holes were fun to try with various flavor options. The Thai is spicy and was put next to another donut hole, which was then also spicy... so kinda bummer there. The service was amazing, the food was just ok. I was not a particular fan of their eggs Benedict/hollandaise sauce (I ordered it bc others rave about it). Kinda almost tasted like nacho cheese sauce and was spicy (I'm a spice wuss). Dining partner got biscuits and Grady with scrambled eggs. The eggs were almost like egg beaters and the biscuits tasted like the old school 90s Bisquick biscuits. With so many other breakfast places around, I don't think we will be back. I just wish the food was as good as the service. I've been to this location a number of times, and after a not so good experience at another restaurant yesterday, I gave Jelly the green light today. Those that saw yesterday's pathetic double pancake presentation for $9 will be happy to see what I got today! I walked in and was greeted by Sam who was amazing (with a double word score and triple letter score on the "z") I knew what I wanted right away-- a double order of blueberry pancakes! She said, "Our Lavender Blueberry Pancakes are amazing." I took that advice and ran with it. They did not disappoint and were undeniably jellylicious. See the pictures below. I also ordered a side of bacon and a cold brew toddy. The toddy was a pint for $2.65 the bacon was 5.5 slices for $4.75 and the pancakes 2 for $7.29 All of these were perfect. The pancakes came with butter and syrup on the side. While I was eating Sam was working diligently to make the area spic and span. She filled my water twice, made sure my pancakes were up to snuff, and said, "Thank you!" to everyone who left the restaurant. Her server chops are 5 star! I enjoyed my experience so much I even bought a Jelly Hockey Toast T-Shirt. (Very soft cotton $20) If you haven't had a chance to try Jelly you'd better get with it. Best thing about this place was probably their interior design. I was really disappointed that the donut bites absolutely sucked! Super hard, and jelly was not filled like the menu said. So happy to have stumbled upon this place. We joined a virtual wait list on a Saturday because all other restaurants had crazy wait times. This worked out perfect and we showed up and were seated within a few minutes. The place is so cute! The best vibes and the mood was just right. They were playing old school rap which definitely set the "chill Saturday brunch" vibes. Of course everyone at the table got the mini donuts. This is a must at this place! The salted caramel one was my favorite one. We also got some cinnamon roll pancakes that were my absolute favorite! Someone in my table actually got their food very late and the server admitted he forgot to put it in and actually removed an item from the bill as a way to make it up to him. I've visited the Jelly Cafe in Cap Hill and I wasn't terribly impressed so I was a bit hesitant on trying out this location. My boyfriend swears by this spot so I figured I'd give it a shot. This location was great! Because it's covid times, their service has changed from full service to a fast casual where you order at the front and they bring the food out to you when it's ready. I don't love the concept myself, but I completely understand the changes they had to make. I ordered a bacon pancake with a side of over-medium eggs. My boyfriend got the benedict. Also ordered a spicy bloody mary which Hit. The. Spot. My love for bloodies is stronger than my hate for acid reflux. Sorry not sorry, it's the truth ya'll. My bacon pancake was delish! Big, fluffy, savory, sweet. All great things that I require in my breakfast/brunch. I used all of the syrup, per usual. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Man I am a sucker for a well cooked egg. We sat at our table for over 20 mins before someone came to take our order. My husband got black coffee and it came out absolutely scalding hot. Food was just OK. Donuts were disappointing- really bland flavor and dough was too dense for a good donut. I got the biscuits and gravy with the potato side. I love Jelly Cafe, so when I found out there was one closer to us, I was SO THRILLED. Bae & I visited on a weekend, around 9-10am ish. We were expecting a long wait, but didn't wait longer than about 5-10 minutes. The host came outside to greet us and explain the wait which we immediately thought that was super thoughtful. We intended to sit outside, but not a minute later he let us know a table inside opened up and we could claim it! Talk about awesome customer service!! I had the Benedict, Bae had the hash && we topped it off with donuts OMG THE DONUTS. salted caramel donuts FOR THE WIN. So fresh so yummy so worth it. The mimosas were amazing too. Upon entering, it didn't seem crazy busy and we were seated fairly quickly. The man that greeted us and sat us was literally mumbling and I couldn't hear him at all when we were supposed to follow him, so hopefully in the future he will speak up because a guest at your restaurant shouldn't immediately feel confused. Our food came out pretty fast and it was really, really good! They have sooo many gluten-free options, which ensures that I'll be coming back repeatedly. I wish more local spots would have gluten-free notices on their menus more prominently! Anyway- my avocado toast was so delicious although it could've used a little more salt. I don't think they did anything to the avocado besides smash it up. The greens and produce were super fresh and amazing. Josh, you clearly did not read my review before responding. I am not confused about the 20% surcharge, in fact, I have a lot of clarity about it. Again: If you need to raise your prices by 20% to pay your staff what they deserve, THEN RAISE THE MENU PRICE of a $14.99 dish to $17.99. Raise the price of a coffee from $2.99 to $3.59. You know, actually be transparent about your 20% price increase instead of trying to bait and switch your customers behind artificially low menu prices that are 20% less than you actually charge. There is no reason to do it via "surcharge" except that on some level you want to hide your price increases. And to be clear, I am never "coming back" to a company that tries to hide the true price of its product from its customers. Jelly falls under this category. Again, I'm cool with you raising menu prices 20% across the board to pay your staff better. I'd support that. But I will never support that in the form of a surcharge, it's absurd, it's insulting, and shows that you may well be a dishonest person who does not respect the intelligence of your customers. read more

We had to sit at the bar to avoid a super long wait. Bar service was meh-they were pretty busy. We were excited by all the different gluten free items featured on the menu. The donut bites were insanely good. My favorite wax the Thai peanut and the maple bacon. We tried each of them! Loved the cornflake French toast and the ultimate biscuit. Coffee wasn't great. Anytime my husband I visit Denver, Jelly is our go to spot for brunch. Last week was our first time at this specific location and it did not disappoint! We ordered the 4 pack of donut holes and they were each delicious. I ordered the classic eggs benny and it was the absolute BEST Benedict I've had in a very, very long time. I used to love this place. See me review from 2016 below. Things are much different. Today It reeked of sewage, they served moldy water, and the cheese and fruit were spoiled. Ambiance is great, but it stops there. Service was poor and the food was bland. The signature mini donuts were fresh and hot but lacked a certain flavor donuts get from the oil they are fried in. Mexican chorizo on my hash lacked any of the seasoning to call it chorizo. It was really more like ground sausage. The Hollandaise was nothing like the mother sauce. Really more of a bernaise I mean holladaise does not have tarragon in it. I know they have salt because it's on the table but I don't think it ever makes it on the food, just didn't have any flavor.
