I love me some donuts but this place has got to do better with their donuts and their presentation. I ordered a dozen donuts for my co workers and was disappointed to see how sloppy most of the donuts looked. I figured I'd just get majority of glazed donuts and even those were very dry and underwhelming. They are also over priced, a dozen donuts for $24 seems outrageous. "I'm going out for a drive, back in a bit" It is set in a mall with many a chain store, a few locally-managed franchises, and one well-loved old-school music shop. It is everything a donut store should be, no more, no less: 1/a warm, welcoming couple which has run the place for decades, 2/fresh hot coffee in the am, and 3/the exact assortment of delectables one would expect. The owner's attitude!!! A few days ago, I stopped at the Jelly Donut Shop to buy 2 dozen assorted donuts to take to the nurses at the Kaiser Pwrmanente Oncology Center (located on the back side of the Northgate1 strip mall) because of the care they provide Kaiser members who have some type of Cancer and receive Chemo there. They are presently taking care of both my wife, who has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and me. I have multiple myeloma. I wanted to let those nurses know how much the care they provide all of us is appreciated (and yes, donuts don't come anywhere near showing that appreciation - but it was just a simple statement of thanks!). I use a wheelchair for mobility, so it took me a bit to open the overly heavy front door to Jelly Donuts, but I got inside and went over to the counter to order the two dozen donuts. I could see and hear an older gentleman behind the counter and the full plastic barrier (protection from customers with Covid), and said, "Hello". No verbal response, and no movement of that older person towards the counter area I was facing. So I again said, "Hello"!, a little more firmly. Oh, he's finally moving and coming towards the counter area where I sat on the other side. And do you know what he said to me, with a not very warm inflection? "What do you want?" Seriously? I'm a customer in a donuts shop, for goodness sake. What would anyone think I wanted? So, i did buy the two dozen donuts, not because I wanted to help that man's business, but because I wanted to get those donuts and bring them to the Kaiser Oncology Center staff. Will I ever go back to the Jelly Donut Shop? No!!! And maybe you might want to consider finding a different and more welcoming donut shop in the future. I know that's what I will be doing. If I could, I would give the Jelly Donut Shop a big, fat, "0"! read more

Made a quick stop on the way home, driving from Napa to Orange County and found Jelly Donut! This place is such a hidden gem, I loved the donuts here. I would definitely go out of my way to get these. My friends who know me know that I love love love Blueberry Donuts. Well you know I had to get some and boy, they were amazing! I think I also got a Cruller if I remember correctly, it was also very good, lightly coated in sugar. The texture tasted similar to a cream puff, maybe even better. The donuts here have great flavor and amazing texture. They are located in a shopping plaza with a big parking lot, plenty of free parking. The service is so friendly. stopped here as a pit stop while traveling.. it's a little tucked into the shopping center, and not very eye catching inside or out. but i'm so glad i stopped by because these have to be the yummiest donuts i've ever had. the dough is sooo fluffy and soft and the chocolate doesn't leave a bad aftertaste in your mouth like some do. there was a good amount of donut options, but i love a classic chocolate ring. the service was great and it was very warm inside which i needed on this cold road trip! -- it is cash or zelle only so be prepared :) read more

Maple! Maple! Maple! I haven't tried the jelly donut, but the maple donuts are so good. I am very impressed at the variety of donuts this place has, as well as the flavor of the glazes. A lot of places do something weird where the glaze slides or breaks off when you take a bite. Not here. Each yummy bite has that awesome flavored glaze. Most donuts are $1.10-$1.50. They have cake donuts, doughy (?) donuts, old-fashioned donuts, bars, and more. The location is tucked in Northgate One, behind Starbucks and next to Pings. Parking can be a bit of a slog, but it's fine if you get there early. Regardless, the staff will great you with a smile, and it will not be long before you walk in and they know your regular order. I went there, low expectations notwithstanding, because it was convenient. I had promised my younger daughter we could get donuts as a special treat and Jelly is small enough that I could tie my little dog up outside where she could see us and we could see her for the two minutes (or in impatient dog time, HOURS). As we walked in, I overheard the one other customer ask what was fresh in the back. Now that is a pro tip I would have never thought of. The woman at the counter--who is super nice--answered chocolate cake donuts, which are my all time favorite. They were still so hot that they came with a verbal warning and were too hot to put on display yet. I ordered one and it was nothing short of amazing. Took my kids in for a treat about 10mins before closing. It was our first time getting donuts here and I didn't realize it was cash only until we had picked out our donuts. The gentleman at the register was so kind and patient and directed me to a nearby atm. On my way to the atm I realized I had a $10 bill in my wallet the whole time We went back to pay and found our donuts boxed and waiting along with a few extras tucked in for the kids! We've been going to Jelly Donuts for nearly 11 years now, and it never fails to disappoint. The couple that owns it are very friendly and helpful, and their product is fantastic. We always get a couple of their apple fritters because they are out of this world, so crispy and delicious. We're also big fans of their chocolate with sprinkles, and when you get one that is fresh from the oven it's a molten gift from the gods, so damn delicious.
