Take my two stars with a large grain of salt as I only went once, and I only got a glazed buttermilk bar. Not good. In fact, after my second bite I threw it away. As the owners are Asian there are a few steam buns in the display case as well. Average donut costs 75 cents. 5 flavors of coffee. Big cup for $1. Glass door display refrigerator has got O.J., milk & sodas. They're right next door to a Starbucks and still making a profit for the past 10 years. Really good. Not too greasy. I'm not a huge fan of donuts because I always end up not feeling well after but I think because these aren't greasy I never feel that way. So once in a while it's a nice treat for the family on a Sunday morning. Reasonably priced and lots of variety. I love old-fashions unglazed and theirs are so good. They also have great Bavarian cream and apple fritters. We just made our first run there during the COVID SIP and they have put up plexiglass and it was easy to wait outside while the person in front of me ordered. Don't bother getting treats at Starbucks it's just not worth it they're 10 times more expensive and they don't taste nearly as good, the donuts here are exceptional, The staff is exceptional, such a small place delivering such gigantic delightfulness. Donuts are dense...I thought I made a mistake and ordered a donut filled with cream, but no, when I picked up a few of the others in the dozen, they were also heavy - they just make them like that. The jelly donut (their specialty) was very good. However, when I cut a chocolate bar donut (was going to split it with my kids), I made the disgusting discovery of a hair in the donut. The saleslady gave me an extra glazed donut on the house for being a good customer...........plus, I asked what time they were going to open Sunday morning since I will be leaving early to drive to LA. I wouldn't ever expect to find a good doughnut place in a strip mall near a Starbucks. Jelly Donut - doh! Is an unassuming and small. You go in and the space is dominated by the counter showcasing their goods. The counter window isn't as big as a Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme, but it does have a decent variety of cake doughnuts. I quickly and easy found two donuts that I wanted. The two other people with me also found a good selection. The lady helping us even through in an extra! We walked out with three paper sacks of donuts with grease spots appearing on the exterior. I can only speak to the deliciousness of the apple fritter that took me two days and a friend to consume. That's right. The first day two of us shared a piece and I ate the rest the second day. Frankly, I don't know how you can go wrong with an apple fritter. read more

I placed my order (two donuts), grabbed one of the little milks from the fridge, and pulled out my debit card to pay. I was told "Sorry, we don't take cards." So I apologized for having made them go through the trouble, said thanks, and started walking out, since I had zero cash. And she said, "Oh, no, don't you worry about it! Please take them." I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised, the total amount was only a few dollars, but you just don't experience that too much anymore. So, a few weeks later it was my turn to bring something for breakfast to the office, and after getting some bagels form the place a few shops down, I OF COURSE came here for some donuts too. I saw Jelly Donut a week ago when I was down in Terra Linda, and thought I'd give them a shot this week. I walked in, the case looked wonderful, lots of different donuts, big, fluffy, and delicious. I'll never know however. The customer in front of me finished, and the short, nasty dark haired woman, rather than greeting with a smile or even a flat expression by saying "hello" or "good morning", greeted me with a nasty "YES?!". Had I been rude or even said anything before getting that, I might have second guessed that maybe I rubbed her the wrong way, but I hadn't said word one. I was just smiling and waiting. What can I say about Jelly Donut. How dear to me you are. My family and I have been going to JD for over 10 years. It is a after church Sunday ritual. The owners have seen my children grow up and always have a smile and a "Hello!" for us. Their jelly donuts are simply the best I've ever had and I've had many all over the US. AND they make them three ways which I've never seen anywhere else: powdered sugar, glazed and, my favorite, granulated sugar. The exterior has a slight crust which when bitten into reveals a soft, pillowy and slightly chewy interior. Heaven! Their glazed donuts blow Krispy Kreme away. FYI If you like KK then you, sir, are no donut aficionado. What else? Apple fritters, perfect donut holes (which they often sneak into your bag or box which we call "bonus holes"). Another not to be missed creation is the crumb donut in either yeast or cake configuration. I've never seen them anywhere else and they are GOOOOOOOOD! This donut shop was the place my mom would take me to almost every week, in the morning before she went to work. We'd grab a donut and she'd get coffee, and we'd have mother-daughter time. For my birthday at school we'd buy their big, colorful, delicious, inexpensive and full of variety donuts to bring into the classroom. They were and have since been always welcoming and friendly, putting the customer first. I believe it is a family owned and run business, and this makes me more interested in supporting them and their efforts. They didn't disappoint when I was in grade school and they still don't now. Good for large groups, families with kids, last minute pick up of baked goods for a school bake sale, or donuts for the office. Much much better than Krispy Kreme or any store bought brand. Very classic with coffee available, liquid half-and-half creamer, plenty of places to sit, plenty of parking, plenty a variety of donuts, and drinks for purchase and bottles as well. Although they do not have any breakfast items like eggs and croissants, still a great place to stop when you're craving a delicious classic doughnut. The coffee was fresh, (several different kinds to choose from), people behind the counter were very friendly, bathroom was clean, prices are very reasonable. (Over-priced Krispy Kreme could learn a thing or two from them.)
