A dozen donuts from Sparks Jelly donut
    Myrna S.

This is the first time we've gone to this location and we walked in just before closing time, there was just enough donuts left in the case to get a dozen. The proprietor was pleasant enough and price was reasonable; the donuts tasted great even the day after. My mom said their Bavarian Cream donut had the best filling in town; it was creamy and not overly sweet. I got a toasted coconut coated donut; ordinarily, I'm not a fan of coconut but that donut was flavorful that I consumed every morsel happily. Overall, this was a great first experience and will definitely warrant a return visit.

My favorite donuts in town! Don't sleep on this little gem of Reno. They have a pretty wide variety of donuts. Not one of those fancy shops with cereal and cookies atop of a basic donut. Here you will find maple bars, old fashioneds, Apple fritters, crullers, jelly filled, Bavarian crème... you name it. Come early as they run out fast. We lucked out and we're able to get a pretty good variety at 9am.

The hubby's coworker brought donuts in from here, and he really liked them. He kept saying that I would too. So it was nice that they have a drive thru... Even though I had a really good steak breakfast, I thought this was going to be a nice finishing touch! Hmmm I ordered a chocolate and maple bar.. was thinking the real test of a donut shop is how well they can do a glazed... (good thing I didn't add on a glazed)! The best glazed donuts are in San Jose, called Ben's... It's a simple donut shop and the lines are super long. My ex-sister-in-law would always get me a dozen for the holidays! Anyway, I was really disappointed! Barely enough frosting to cover the bar and really oily tasting. Only had one bite and that was enough for me. I'll keep dreaming of the glazed at Ben's!

My donut was filled with black furry mold!!!! Who knows how long that thing sat in their case.

Maple bar and twisty, chocolate circle not pictured as it was already in the trash.

It was about 10am and I was worried there wouldn't be much to choose from, however this was not the case. Seemed they have a little of everything. The old man working there (maybe the owner?) was so friendly and threw in a free donut with our dozen because it was our first time there. The donuts themselves were great. Definetly top 5 donuts I've ever ever had. My favorites were the apple fritter and the old fashioned . I think they are certainly in contention for the "best donuts in town"

First couple bites of the first donut was good but after that they just turned out to not be so good.. there was some weird taste. Kinda like the oil they were cooked in was old or bad. Right when you walk in you clearly see what they have to offer on the digital menus displayed on the wall. The displays of donuts are beautiful. They range from type and the colors are vibrant and inviting! I had to get a mochi donut (one of my favorites) and I was not disappointed. I can say that this was the BEST MOCHI donut I have had in Nevada! My husband got a jelly filled and we split a sprinkled. The hot coffee was delicious too! There was a decent selection of coffee as well. I highly recommend you check out Donut Bistro next time you are in Sparks, NV!

I can't say I've ever met one I didn't like. Heck, even the 1/2-priced day-olds have a place in my heart. Have you ever put a donut in the microwave for 20 seconds? Today, a volunteer was needed to pick up a dozen donuts for a meeting. I said, "You buy, I fly," and off I went. It's 8:45am, not too busy, and customer service is spot on. The display cases are full of beautiful sprinkles and glaze and peanuts and bacon... yup, I was eye-balling that Maple & Bacon! I requested a mixed dozen. Then I saw it... the sign read "Sausage, Jalapeno and Cheese kolache." Ooooh goodness gracious, it was the biggest kolache I'd ever seen. And Id never seen one in Reno or Sparks. They do grow things bigger in TX. I know cuz I lived in Deep East TX. But this is Sparks, NV, and I want to try this. I've eaten a kolache or 2 or 500 in my day. He even offered to warm it up before I asked. I wanted this to be good, no I wanted it yo great. To be the "Whete have you been since I moved back to NV?" it wasn't. I was disappointed. The amount of filling to bread ratio was way off, in my opinion. I expected a sausage, not 6-8 sausage "coins" wrapped in a 7" x 5" dough package. It was soft, and the color was so inviting. It looked like it was gonna be amazing. If you've never tried one, do try Donut Bistro's kolache... It's a soft, warm, savory option. Just make sure to also ask for the Maple & Bacon, cuz that one doesn't miss a point!

We ordered a box of donuts holes and half a dozen regular donuts then went on our merry way. The donuts tasted mediocre at best, a little on the stale side but granted, we went there late afternoon, so the donuts weren't going to be fresh. Our visit would have been average, even uneventful had it not been for the rude young lady behind the counter. I would say her poor demeanor was isolated to just us but she was curt to the customers ahead of us as well. She was outwardly hostile, as if we were keeping her from something more important-- I don't know maybe we interrupted her from discovering the cure cancer or she was just having a bad day but she took it out on us by coping an attitude as soon as we stepped up to the counter and even rolled her eyes when we ordered, as if we were there to waste her time. (Sorry for bringing our business to this places and keeping you employed). Never again will we make the mistake of going this Dunkin' Donuts location, wow, no wonder the place was empty with that kind of awful, piss-poor customer service; we would have been better off going to a local donut shops where they at least value our business.
