No one lingers too long so a table is always available. I got the seasonal apple crumble. It was good but really sweet. You can sample the flavors but I forgot too. Every time I go to the Lane Parke area of Mtn. Brook, I end up at Jeni's. The big orange letters seem to beckon me down the street and the thought of their Brown Butter Almond Brittle and their Double Dough ice cream pulls me in the door. This has always been my go to ice cream place in all of Birmingham! They always have the most unique and seasonal flavors out there! I got a new seasonal rhubarb flavor that had hints of coriander, and it was sooo good! It tastes like a sweet raspberry jam mixed with rich vanilla! I got a pint and took it to go to save for later! We absolutely LOVE Jeni's! We live in Memphis and sadly we do NOT have a Jeni's. Whenever we travel we always check to see if there is one on the way or nearby. This particular location was in the cute town of old Cahaba in Birmingham. It is a really nice area with plenty of dining options. We are at a local restaurant and then walked over to Jeni's. The interior is small, but super cute. You walk up to the counter to order and they offer free samples to try before you buy. The personnel is happy to explain the flavor combinations of each flavor. We LOVE that the ice cream is chock full of chunky ingredients that are very unique. My husbands favorite is the brown butter almond brickle. I LOVE the ooey gooey. Utter cake. This time I had one scoop of my favorite and one scoop of the seasonal lemon citrus pound cake which was yummy as well. I love that both of my flavors come with chunks of yummy cake. Back again after an awesome Yelp event. I signed up for emails and when I received an email about the Ted Lasso: Biscuits with the Boss, I had to try it! The first night I stopped by, I was the only person in the shop and the attendant was thrilled it was my first visit and had me try ALL THE THINGS! Really! Yum! I have been waiting for years for Jeni's to come to Birmingham, and we finally got one in the Pepper Place a few years ago. We all know two is certainly better than one especially when it comes to ice cream shops! I was so excited to hear our city was getting a second location! I came by here for the grand opening last week. I got a trio of ice cream and some fun goodies including a drink tumbler and a tote bag. You can smell the waffle cone goodness even from outside the restaurant. This location actually does have a good amount of indoor seating so it's a better location to actually hang out with friends and family if it's too cold or rainy outside versus strictly outdoor seating at the Pepper Place location. The workers were all so friendly, and I chose to sample two flavors before putting them in my waffle bowl. I ended up choosing pistachio macaron, white chocolate peppermint, and cranberry crumble. The pistachio macaron was very good, and very rich. The white chocolate peppermint was probably my favorite flavor of the three. I love mint ice creams and this minty flavor was not overbearing to the over flavors so I loved that! The cranberry crumble had a lot of texture from cranberries and nuts. It was probably the one that excited me the least, but I'm sure if I got a single waffle cone and didn't have other flavors competing with it, I would have probably loved it as well. My family and I visited Jenni's on Mother's Day and let me tell you the smell was amazing. You could smell the homemade waffle cones and bowls. It was so clean and the staff was very friendly. They offered good recommendations according to what I was looking for. I had the Strawberry Shortcake Parfait and it was so good just the right amount of sweetness. I'm glad I had the cup and not the waffle bowl because my hubby said it was to sweet with the waffle bowl. I would suggest having in the cup. We will definitely got back to visit and try different flavors and the plus is you can get a sample spoon to try it and I mean it's not a plastic spoon it's a real spoon not that I have anything against plastic. read more

This is some of the best ice cream I've had while in Birmingham. I literally found them through Yelp elite, tried it for free, and less than six hours later had to go back and get another fix. IT WAS THAT GOOD. The gooey butter cake is to die for! I honestly was looking for something as close to cheesecake as possible but this passed my expectations. The chewy pieces in the ice cream are just sweet bits of heaven. I also tried the chocolate, bramble berry, and cranberry crumble flavors. The chocolate was ok, it was just plain but I mean how can you really revamp chocolate ice cream without overdoing it? So I enjoyed it just because I'm a chocolate ride or die fan. Now the brambleberry??? bomb af. It's honestly what I hoped the cranberry would have tasted like. The cranberry was a let down yall I can't lie it tasted like what playdoh smells like.
