The pita bread was freshly made and we could see it come out from the wood fired oven to our table. They were a warm cloud of deliciousness. The chicken tips were served on a bed of in house hummus. The chicken was extremely well seasoned and juicy. The Labenee was rich and refreshing with a slight tart. The pizza was cheesy and played well with the sausage and peppers. The basil was a nice touch to elevated the pizza flavor overall Our full meal and drinks including tip for two people was $50 which we thought was a very affordable price for date night in an elevated sit in restaurant. We will definitely be back

Finally, I've dined inside Poco Piatti. I've ordered catering from them at The Garden location for…read morean event (which I heard was excellent) but did not have the opportunity to try the food myself. I visited the location on Central for a Galentines outing and it was perfect. I've already been back since that day. As a big fan of Mediterranean food Poco has some of the best hummus I've tried thus far. There's also many variations of grape leaves (in general) and I'm not a fan of all of them but I did enjoy their meat grape leaves. They make them with lamb and ground beef, rice, Syrian spice, and cook them with lemon and mint. All combined the grape leaves have a savory taste with a hint of sweetness for its flavor. I've never been disappointed with their Cried Calamari Za'atar. It's typically fried hard to give a nice crispy crunch. My favorite dinner on the menu as of this moment are the Grilled Baby Lamb Chops. I ordered medium rare chops since they advertise having them cooked this way is their specialty. I gladly agree with them. Yes it might be pink on the inside but the flavor is everything. You can order a small (4) or large (6) plate of the chops. The large plate comes with a bed of rice. Overall, I would say that their prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food you receive. This location is somewhat small but still spacious enough to enjoy yourself and have private conversations. I would say that it's appropriate for any type of small gathering to take place at this location. The service is always stellar and it's pretty cool that you can view the action in the kitchen as you're dining. Alcohol is served as they also have a small bar area. Wine fills their menu but they do offer special cocktails as well. I've tried their cabernet, and peach sangria. Their classic sangria looks amazing though so I might order that next. Overall, Poco Piatti is a restaurant you should absolutely dine at sooner than later!

While I did not experience the ambiance at Grape Leaf Diner today, I can say from a past visit that the atmosphere is clean, bright with lots of windows, and with comfortable chairs and booths. The restaurant is located near or within a small strip mall at the Holland, OH location. (The Grape Leaf Express location in Toledo, OH located on Monroe St near Franklin Park Mall is also in a strip mall.) The food ordered today included chicken shawarma, yellow rice with vegetables (green beans, corn and peas), hummus, pita bread, and a Greek salad. There was also a dish of grilled vegetables that included squash and zucchini. While I didn't want to be rude and photograph food in the middle of the party, I took some screenshots posted by the restaurant to give you an idea of the food presentation. The salad ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Hummus was perfectly flavored. I always wish that Mediterranean rice had more vegetables, though it was delicious. I found the chicken shawarma a bit salty, but I'm salt-sensitive, so most people probably would love it; the meat was lean. As for the zucchini and squash vegetables, they looked delicious but we didn't have plastic knives, and I couldn't manage to cut them or eat them with the plastic forks. It was a beautiful presentation and I recommend that you give this restaurant a try! A tip for summer weather: the A/C was cranked up high when I was last there... maybe bring a jacket or sweater if you tend to run cold.

The menu goes beyond the basic…read moreshawarma/hummus/falafel things to include offerings like braised lamb shanks, yogurt kibbe, a huge selection of meat and cheese pies, besides a number of "Americanized" choices. The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
