The best dentist in the area!!! I'd been dealing with bone loss and staining for years, and Dr. Jen was the first to really dig in. She suggested small lifestyle tweaks to help with staining and even caught that I was speaking strangely--something no other dentist/periodontist/endodontist ever noticed. She referred me to a myofunctional therapist, and it turned out I've had a tongue tie my whole life causing the bone loss (confirmed with a second opinion). Over the past 5 years, she's shown she truly cares and never pushes unnecessary procedures. For example, another endodontist told me to replace a tooth with resorption, but Dr. Jen monitored it instead--it hasn't worsened and doesn't bother me. Every visit feels like more than just a cleaning, and the office even handles insurance when so many others won't these days. They really go above and beyond for their patients. read more

Dr. Chiang is the best and most competent dentist I have been to! Her focus is on prevention, rather than continuously treating the same issues. If you are afraid of deep gum cleanings, I'm here to tell you that you shouldn't be! I'm not going to lie to you and say they are pleasant, but Dr. Chiang makes them as painless as possible. I thought it would be this whole big deal, but she finished with me in just about the same amount of time it took for the numbing agent(s) to work. She even checks in with you the next day to see how you're doing! I had it done yesterday and I almost feel zero soreness. It's so nice to see my gums pink instead of red! Five star review for a five star functional dentist. I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Chiang and staff and I felt seen, heard and understood. This is the first time I had my teeth photographed and it was very helpful for me to visualize what she was talking about when she could show me on her tablet with enlarged photos. What a asset to her toolbox of functional dentistry! The dental assistant that polished my teeth had gentle hands and was very clear about what she was about to do next. I am a white knuckle patient that appreciated that as I need to keep the cortisol rush down as much as possible when visiting the dentist. For my entire life, I've held a stigma about dentists eventually disappointing you--whether it's those who upsell you on unnecessary treatments or those too focused on efficiency that I only feel like the next patient in the queue. And then there's Dr. Chiang. I am deeply indebted to her for many reasons: from her meticulous attention to a hotspot in my teeth caused by structural issues, to offering off-hour advice during an emergency for my mother, to thoroughly researching topics related to my daughter well beyond what a general dentist is expected to do. Even now--despite being as Chinese as I am--my insurance doesn't fully cover the costs, but I'm still willing to pay out of pocket for me and my kids because she's that good. For these reasons, this is why Dr. Chiang has been my dentist for more than the past decade. The practice seems more focused on money than providing genuine patient care. Untrustworthy and inconsistent whenever there's a chance to charge more. The front staff mentioned they would check with my insurance company before confirming the cost, but I was later billed for an additional amount. There are a few things I could say here, including pointing out multiple inaccuracies to your comment. MULTIPLE. I stand by everything I wrote. Good to know that Marcella is the person who threatened to cancel my appt on 3 hours notice, when I hadn't heard from you since scheduling, and that she's the irrational person who couldn't answer a question in a straightforward manner. Are you defending that behavior - in which the only communication I'd received from you in months was that you'd cancel an appt if I didn't respond in 3 hours? Do you really want to provide a 5 star service to me? Because it's really interesting that at no point did anyone say "whoops, so sorry this was such a relentlessly terrible experience," or "could we please reschedule this appointment," or really anything else that would have made sense. If you had really wanted to provide a 5 star service "that I deserve," then you would have reached out to me by phone or email, where we've been communicating, and not just try to make yourself look good on social media. Real customer service happens behind the scenes, and your game there is quite bad. Still waiting for a simple "so sorry." It shouldn't take someone 1.5 hours to learn, only after extensive direct questioning, that their appt had been canceled, and they would not be seen for hours. That should have been the first thing I was told when I walked into the office. Shall I send you a bill for my lost work time? Do you have any comment about the disrespect to disabled people who worked hard to see you specifically? I'm sure you can do better, but this is not it. I had my wisdom teeth extraction by Dr. Jennifer Chiang, the whole experience is absolutely amazing. Her local anesthesia was very effective to me and I didn't even feel a thing in the whole surgery. The best dentist ever. 10/10 would recommend. I go to Dr.Chiang for my regular cleanings and the cleanings are always as smooth as they can be, with minimum pain and discomfort. I also went in to do a filling for a chip I got from chewing on ice chips. I was really nervous since I had never gotten a filling before. Dr.Chiang made sure to calm me down, told me to breathe through my nose, and relax. She did such a great job that I did not even notice when the filling was complete. It was surprisingly not that bad. Dr.Chiang also showed me techniques on how to floss properly under my retainers. Amidst COVID19, Dr.Chiang and her staff are all very well equipped with the right PPEs. The receptionist welcomes you at the door with a temperature check and alcohol disinfectant sprays. Dr.Chiang and her assistant are in full-on gowns, face shields, and face masks. Her office made me feel like my visit was very safe. As weird as it might sound, but I honestly think Dr.Chiang's friendliness, professional knowledge, and patience make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. They also let you know what they are doing about COVID and how they are keeping the space super clean and disinfectant before the next patient comes in. They've done so much precautions to make us feel safe. Once you arrive at the parking lot (assuming you are at least 10-15min early before the appointment) They will text you to fill out a hands-free form for any questionnaires around COVID. Then you call and is asked to wait outside. Next they prep a temperature check and have you wash your hands and have your swiss hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for a min. Then after the procedure is done, they will have you wash your hands again. I believe they also upgraded their air filters PPE like what the hospital uses. I'm a registered dental hygienist that lives and works in San Francisco, and also a mom, so this is a review coming from a very protective, picky industry insider who has seen the ugly underbelly of dentistry...and also what an amazing, caring, knowledgeable provider looks like. I sought out Dr. Jennifer Chiang for my almost 2-year-old due to Dr. Chiang's expertise in myofunctional therapy. This was the third dentist I've taken my daughter to see...the first was a pediatric dentist in San Francisco practicing based on research from the 1980s, the second was a good pediatric dentist in Danville, but it was simply a route that made my daughter carsick. I'm so happy to say we've finally found a dental home with Dr. Chiang. She has training well beyond her colleagues in terms of awareness of oral-systemic health, and the connection to proper function of the mouth to breathing, swallowing, and speech. Even though my daughter was losing it when we first arrived, Dr. Chiang remained calm and we were able to carry on a conversation and my daughter saw she was safe. Dr. Chiang gave her a small toy to play with (that she now adores and kisses goodnight) and created a bunny balloon that delighted my girl and helped put her in a good mood. We were able to go forward with a toothbrush prophy, counting teeth, flossing, and fluoride application. Dr. Chiang identified future needs for my child and when certain interventions would be appropriate, all with warmth and clear communication. I was looking for a dentist near work but a friend strongly recommended Dr. Jennifer Chiang. I'm so glad I chose quality over convenience. This is my best experience at a dentist office in my life. Before starting, Dr. Chiang spotted it and explained ways to reduce tightness and how to best deal with the day's procedure to reduce aches today as well as the future. Most importantly, she did this without boring me to death or rambling on too long. Concise, helpful, and genuinely kind. The dental procedures: the doctor noted every time I was having trouble before I could even realize it myself, but she did not seem overly cautious. It was as painless as a cleaning for a man with terrible teeth could be. The future steps "lecture" was perfect. Perfect amount of information on the state of my teeth, future steps, and preventative measures. When I first started coming for cleanings with Dr. Chiang, I had serious gum disease which had persisted for a number of years. Pocket measurements of 5+. I was already very diligent with my oral hygiene, but nothing seemed to work. Somehow under the gum line, my teeth were caked in a concrete-like substance. I was accustomed to cleaning appointments with significant scraping of dental tools to remove this build-up, followed by the dreaded goggle of water at the end of the appointment where the rinse out of my mouth was filled with blood. Over the course of about two years, Dr. Chiang significantly improved my oral health. To be frank, the treatment was no easy task. She took great care in personally performing my dental cleanings; she referred me to several periodontists; she methodically added self-maintenance measures, one by one. She was simply not willing to give up. During my last few appointments, at last, my gums are showings signs of improvement. Dr. Chiang hardly had to do any hand-scaling; my pocket depths are reducing; and I even skipped the dreaded goggle of water, as there was no longer any blood to spit out. If you have serious dental issues like I did and are willing to put in the time to resolve the issues (or are lucky and just want to maintain your healthy teeth and gums), Dr. Chiang is the dentist for you! read more

I recently moved to Sunnyvale and was in search of a new dentist. Dr. Jen was recommended by a friend of mine and she took my insurance (Aetna), two for two! Dr. Jen is super nice, both friendly and professional. She always takes the time to explain what shes doing and go over any options that are available. I've been in twice so far, once for a (long overdue) cleaning and once for a filling. Scheduling appointments are easy, she even sends me google calander invites. The office is nice, but a little tricky to find the right suite. I've never spent more than a minute in the lobby waiting. Overall I am very happy and would highly recommend Dr. Jen. read more

I've been going to Dr. Chiang for almost 2 years now and I really enjoy the work she and her assistants do. Unfortunately, I do not have the best history with my teeth, but Dr. Chiang has turned that around. After a few fillings and a front chipped tooth - my teeth look great (and a few cleanings of course)! Dr. Chiang's work is precise and efficient. Her assistants are very nice. There are TV screens in each room and you can choose to watch a program or listen to streaming music. A little confusing to find at first because it is in a business park with other medical services/businesses, but a minute or two of looking around the map, I was able to find the office with ease.
