Jennifer and her entire team were fantastic. The initial meeting lasted over an hour reviewing what we wanted and then what was recommended. The next step was to meet with the color consultant, Janice. She made suggestions based on our roof color, the rocks in our yard and the plants. She guided us to pick a plan A and plan B. Then samples of the different combinations were painted on various areas of the house so we could see what they would look like in direct light and shade. The attention to detail was outstanding. The team worked everyday, but Sunday, 8 hours a day. They cleaned up nightly. Manny, Walter and Tino were very patient with me as I tend to ask a lot of questions. Part 1: After interviewing 5 painting outfits, we selected Jennifer for our long-overdue external house painting project because, frankly, she was all about the highest quality, no nonsense, always honest, highly experienced (40 years in business!) and always available. Her crew has been with her for years, and she requires them to go above & beyond for every customer. Her bid was the 2nd highest and very close to the one that came in under hers; she's not cheap, but not one dime was added to the bid. She used superior paint, any carpentry & siding repairs was included (only group that didn't charge extra), *thoroughly* sanded and primed anything that needed it, and her color consultant was included too! We are THRILLED with the results! Incredible quality! Part 2: As we were wrapping up the exterior work, I mentioned that I was thinking of having our tired old 70s cabinets repainted and countertops replaced as a kitchen refresh. OMG! Jennifer has an amazing network of skilled craftsmen who she's also been working with for years. We contracted with several of them, and guided throughout with Jennifer's expert help and using her interior sheetrock & painting crew, we now have a fabulous updated kitchen with new cabinet doors & drawers, newly painted cabinet interiors (and 2 layers of contact paper GONE!), new countertops and tiled backsplash, and even several additional cabinets, painted to match the kitchen colors. Best painting company EVER! I felt so nervous about getting the house painted that it took over 2 years to finally reach out to a company. I thought I had to do a lot of the leg work and prepping and was anxious about choosing colors. Now my only regret is not doin g this sooner! Jennifer thinks of EVERYTHING and had an answer for all my concerns. I immediately felt she was set on leaving the customer with the best job and best experience, and that's what we got. COLOR COORDINATOR INCLUDED Janice is a professional with her own successful business but also works with Jennifer. A game changer because I wanted "bright and colorful" but had no clue on how to tie all the details together. I showed her all my color square and told her what was important to me and she helped me pick bold colors that flowed nicely as you moved from room to room. Priceless. PREP WORK IMPECCABLE and they did everything. FRIENDLY / RESPECTFUL: Every single person was friendly, considerate, thoughtful. The project lead always did a touch base and Jennifer stopped by a couple times. ONE ROOM AT A TIME They strive to finish any room they start within the same day, including prep work and multiple coats. So, except for that one day, hubby stayed in his office, cars stayed in garage...we did laundry, made food at home, and always had a safe place to keep our cat. Also, they worked with our schedule so we could paint hubby's office on a day he didn't have meetings. MONEY'S WORTH We got a good and fair price for the work that was done and everything that went in to doing the job right and we expect this paint job to last 10 years. I'm sure we could have gotten the job done for a little less, but at what cost? Shoddy work? Sloppy corners? Damaged furniture? Poor color choices? No thank you. BULL-NOSED CORNERS and TEXTURED WALLS (ugg!) Do NOT miss the picture of the kitchen entry leading to the front room...It's so freaking BEAUTIFUL! All the bull nosed corners they did are PERFECT, and placed in the best spot for that corner. But we were putting a lime green against a deep teal for the kitchen entry and thanks to the team taking the needed care to paint the corners in just the right spot and creating unbelievably straight lines on TEXTURED WALLS...an awkward spot is now a stunning point of interest. INVESTMENT Consider choosing colors you love and not colors that impress others or 'sell well'. You have to live there, it should bring you joy, and the investment is also in your well-being. And when you do sell, the next owners will change it anyway. BONUS INPUT on EGGSHELL We chose eggshell for the entire house (except ceilings) because we regularly wipe down dust and scratches, so it's easy to clean and lasts longer too. Our last walls were mat and any little thing left a mark and the mat walls made the baseboards harder to clean. She doesn't work in my area unfortunately, but spent an hr with me guiding me on what to look for and how not just to get my house painted but protected from common mistakes in the industry that cost ten times the price of the job. Such a beautiful portfolio, and genuine person who truly cares. Definitely call and get her care, thoughtfulness and dedication to doing the job right and making it last. I've seen first hand on our house how some contractors from the past cut corners (because it was done before we got there or we didn't know the procedure or weren't home and the finished result looked good but we didn't know they missed priming or including the waterproof barrier behind stucco etc) and it's not pretty and you pay twice for their mistake which sometimes only shows years later. I wish I would give her 5 stars if she make a little more effort. I called to schedule an on-site estimate for an exterior painting service for a commercial property. I was glad they were able to visit within 40 minutes, but then the estimator called me back after visiting the site and spoke very rudely over the phone. As soon as I picked up, the lady said, 'Are you looking for a cheap price? Our price is very high, you won't like it.' She also complained, saying it was 'a waste of my time driving all the way here.' Hello? What kind of service is that? I don't know about the quality you provide or how much you would quote us, but the way she spoke was incredibly disrespectful and arrogant. It's shocking that a company like this would treat potential clients with such disregard. I expected professionalism, not condescension and rudeness. With an attitude like that, I wonder how many other customers they've driven away. You'd think they'd appreciate the business, especially if they're supposedly charging 'high prices.' Anyway, I tried to politely ask for a rough estimate to see how expensive it might be, but she refused to provide one, saying it wasn't worth her time. In the process of getting bids, there were many that claimed "that's easy, quick sand and paint, 1 or 2 days, I'm the cheapest". There was one that said "no, that's not easy. It's going to take a few days to do it right, and it's going to cost you $xxxx." After a few conversations, we hired Jennifer, who promptly put us in touch with her designer. I can honestly say that this paint company is the best I have worked with - EVER! Our (formerly) honey oak kitchen cabinets were in great condition but sorely in need of a color transformation. Base cabinets were similarly prepped in our kitchen. The insides of 2 cabinets with glass doors were carefully primed and painted white to create a uniformly smooth & durable surface. Jennifer painted my house over a year ago and I owe her this review. She painted my Blossom Valley 1500 sq. ft. home and attained results I could not have imagined. You can have your house painted, but Jennifer was a partnering consultant. I opted to use her color consultant because I have a very odd color roof - some orangey flecks with brown and black, and every color other than off-white sounded like it would be strange to me. I was wrong. And, I will say that when Jennifer encouraged me to select a slightly darker shade, I wish I had, so consider making that leap! My house had some very strange spray on stucco on the exterior. It was bumpy and if you ran into it, scraped your skin. We decided to actually sand the entire house before painting it. It was extra cost, but so worth while. Additionally, the decorative area above my garage was very dated and also had been sprayed with that nasty stucco, making it impossible to paint the detail work in straight lines. Working together, with me driving around neighborhoods looking for inspiration, we made a big improvement to this part of the house. Finally, I wanted to replace the ugly post holding up my roof overhang. After some good discussion about what I liked, Jennifer drew up a quick sketch her crew tore down and built a new post that is more modern and complements the house so well. My house is a rental, but also where I raised by family, so I want it to look nice. I've been back now a few times and looked at the work Jennifer and her crew did. I'm so happy with it. They took great care of the property, did a fantastic job with some minor construction, had a good eye for detail, and gave me a quality experience. We bought this Santa Cruz gem with sweeping views of the Monterey Bay, but totally outdated, with wallpaper and popcorn ceilings from the 60's. Being so frugal, we sacrificing an entire Christmas break to scrape, texture and paint back bedrooms. It was heartbreaking to be so disappointed with the results; not only did the the texture style not match the house, it didn't sufficiently bond with the ceilings, so we had cracking and crumbling. Jennifer and her crew refinished my kitchen cabinets from a dark brown stain to dual color white and teal. Jenifer came by to provide consultation, and was able to start the job almost immediately. The quote was reasonable, the job took little over a week to complete. We had lot of doors and drawers, the doors and drawers were spray painted in their workshop while the frames and island were painted onsite by George and Tino manually. There were little mishaps, when they painted some of the drawers the wrong color, but they took it back immediately and fixed it. I also requested to change the paint color after the job was started, they accepted the request and changed the paints. Overall I was impressed with the outcome of it. Attaching before and after pictures here. I gave them another job the same week to do my entertainment center. I needed them to remove my huge wall mounted tv, put up faux brick hard boards on the wall, paint them in a dark color, attach the mount back and hang my tv on the wall mount and also hang my wall mounted entertainment center. Took two people one full day so 16 man hours. Tino did a very good job, he even opened up the drywall a bit to attach a piece of wood to the stud, to make sure the tv wall mount holds the weight well. I receive a lot of compliments on the entertainment center. All in all, they did a great job and I would definitely recommend them for any painting work. read more
