I really hate that I don't work close to this place anymore, some of the fastest and best carry out I've had. Love the carrot chicken soup goes really well if you add in the chips like croutons. I don't eat carrot anything ever and a friend had me try this, life changing deliciousness. Their Maurice salad and Michigan cherry are the only two I have tried and they are both pack with toppings! The dressings they have are spot on for flavor. Only thing I wish they would have a choice of greens instead of just iceberg, maybe spinach or a spinach mix? Happy this place has been open during COVID, I have been ordering carry out since it started and now they have online ordering which made it much easier. I also noticed they recently added delivery through grubhub and doordash which is a plus! Great food as always, fresh and they make it the way you want it. This place was ok if you like giant portions and bland food. I didn't eat anything to really write home about. I walked in and the place was about half full at lunch time on a Thursday, I waited for about five minutes before I was finally acknowledged at all, even though about three waitresses walked past me. A simple 'hello' or an 'I'll be with you in a second' would have been fine, even if they were too busy to seat me just then. Although, once I was seated, I was helped almost immediately. After reading the reviews I decided to get the carrot chicken soup and a maurice salad, the small size. The small size, is not small at all. A word of warning, the table next to me got the maurice in a large size and I couldn't tell the difference other than it was a slightly different plate. As for taste, the carrot chicken soup is bland bland bland! I had to put a bunch of salt on it to even get a taste. And there's only a hint of tiny shards of chicken, no chunks. I guess I'm just used to a little hardier soups. The maurice salad is good, but not spectacular, again I was struck by the lack of taste, the bright spots were when I got the occasional sweet pickle in my bites. It could have done with more of that in my opinion. Or at least a tastier dressing. Again, it wasn't anything inedible or even unpleasant, but it wasn't anything I'd go back for either. Last but not least, they committed the cardinal sin in my book when I go out to eat. When they refilled my drink, they didn't ask what I was drinking and then brought me back a diet coke instead of my original coke. I realize I'm a young female (and they typically get diet) but please don't assume that's what I want too, I'd much rather you ask me what I want if you're unsure. Our visit to Jennifer Cafe was one of a kind. It was our first visit to the restaurant and what an experience! The oven baked in house bread with a plate of hummus, as starter, was an experience on its own. The falafel plate and the sauce that came with it, another one to speak about. Whether or not you love Middle Eastern food, this place is a great option. I'm a vegetarian and often struggle to find restaurants with delicious options (apart from the same ho-hum grilled cheese, veggie burger, and pasta with red sauce--boring). Jennifer's has falafel, hummus, and great sandwiches and wraps (not to mention those amazing homemade chips). The falafel is fine, not the greatest I've had, but the vegetarian wrap is to die for. This was my first time at Jennifer's Cafe. It was DELICIOUS. The Carrot Chicken Soup was incredible. It tastes like it is healthy soul food, which I did not think was possible. We also had a Monte Cristo sandwich. It was amazing with syrup or jelly. Our waitress, Mikaela, was a delight. On the way out, I got a cookie to-go. Every time I come in town this is my first stop, I absolutely love this place. My family are regulars here and recommend it to our friends all the time. My favorite soup here is the tomato chicken spinach and I always get it when they have it on the board. The maurice salad is truly the best in town and I highly recommend you get that. My dad started getting it as a wrap and its amazing. I like to change mine up and get no ham, no chicken sub corned beef and its delicious. Last time I came here I split the tomato chicken spinach with my dad and we also split the Maurice salad as well as a number 8. Since we got a sandwich it came with their amazing homemade potato chips that I LOVE (get a side of the Maurice dressing for dipping). If you can't make up your mind and are dining with someone else splitting with someone is a great option. There are so many amazing options on the menu that I find that I do this more time than not. My mom got the cherry chicken and absolutely loved it. The sauce on the chicken tasted so good and when you mix it with their amazing rice pilaf its incredible. Honestly there are so many delicious options at this restaurant that you truly can't go wrong. I tend to stick with my regular orders but my family is rarely disappointed in the food here. We live around the corner so we have been eating there for years. My wife always gets the Maurice Salad which she says is better than the one at Hudson and I get a wrap either a ham and cheese or the the club in the wrap. The best kept secret is the tomato spinach chicken soup. They have a chicken Florentine dish for dinner that is very flavorful. The place can be lunch busy but they always get everyone seated and the wait staff is very polite and friendly. I'm glad to call myself a regular! Give it a shot they won't disappoint. read more

I called and asked to speak to a manager to get him feedback about one of the combination platters. The owner got on the line he was very abrupt and abrasive. And asked me "what's the problem"? Based on his attitude I could tell that the conversation was not going to go smoothly. I stated that I merely wanted to provide my feedback recent visit. I informed him that very small portion of hummus provided based on the ratio of The amount of tabouli on the platter. On top of it , I was only given two pieces of pita bread. His abrupt response was "I 've been doing it like this for 30 years". I told him it's really not appropriate to be yelling at your customers. He said "what do you want me to do give you a new hummus". I said no that's OK I will not return to your restaurant and that his poor demeanor will be posted will be posted accordingly. read more

Better than your average cafe Don't let the 'ordinary cafe' demeanor fool you. Jennifer's has a good selection of food- including above average vegetarian dishes. Additionally, the freshly fried potato chips are purposefully consumed rather than discarded to the side of the plate like most places. The clientele appears to be composed of mostly elderly folks with a few families sprinkled in. Love this place. Great vegetarian options, falafel, hummus, etc. My children got chicken finger pitas and they loved them. Plus, you get the really nice homemade chips with every sandwich. I had a falafel sandwich and it was horrible. It was dry. No condiments like hummus or tahini sauce, falafel was cold, chips were old and cold. Very expensive. I paid $10 for that. Not a great atmosphere inside. Looks pretty old and there is not much seating. The Maurice salad and he chips are excellent but I really didn't like a few of he over menu items. The wraps are very dry and need a side of some type of sauce just to wash them down. The prices are fair and carry out is usually pretty timely. Unfortunately pretty disappointed in my meal. The prices were higher than they should have been and the quality of the food just wasn't great at all. Glasses for adult drinks are too small and filled with mostly ice. Drinks from the children's menu come in huge half full tumbler disposable adult coffee style cups - too big for little ones to easily hold. My 3 year old accidentally dropped that huge cup on the floor as he was trying to drink it. Although the waitress knew he'd dropped that large cup on the floor, she didn't offer to clean up the spill nor did she offer to get him another drink. She just said, "The ice will melt." There was carpet on the floor, I wonder how sanitary that is for a restaurant??? Shouldn't they be disinfecting/cleaning their floors daily? They have traditional American food on the kids menu such as chicken tenders, cheese burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches but do not sell French Fries to accompany any of the children's entrees. I asked if my child could have a side of fruit with his meal and was told they do not sell fruit either. I found the food over cooked and unappealing when it came. Each condiment came in it's own small dish, so we had all these small dishes on the table with various condiments. Atmosphere was old/dated, unattractive. My wife,daughter, and I were looking for something fast on a Saturday afternoon. We walked in and were seated. The menu is very wordy and cheffy. The prices are pretty high. The food is ok. But by ok the cheapest thing on the menu is around $8. The options are very limited. This is my honest opinion.... It is Trying to be something that it is clearly not. I haven't been to Jennifers in 5 years. I was disappointed. I had the Jennifer Nicoise salad. The salad was 90% lettuce. The salad was supposed to have tuna and I would guess maybe an ounce of tuna and some tomatoe and maybe a quarter of avocado. I don't think this salad was worth $9.00 by any means. read more

The best family owned restaurant that I've been to. The food is exquisite, and I've enjoyed everything I've had there. The owners are very attentive, and are eager to please the patrons. Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, and great food. If you want a server suggestion, request Jessica, she's the best around. The soups and salads are very good, but the sandwiches and entrees are where it's at. The number 7 is a simple chicken tender wrap, but it's the best wrap I've EVER had. The dressing is what makes it all come together. For a lighter option, swap the tenders for grilled chicken. As for entrees, the tenderloin tips, chicken Monique, and salmon are all excellent....filet is always good too! If you choose Jennifer's, you will not be disappointed! read more

Good food, you get what you pay for. Good serving sizes and the salads are good too! I like the chips instead of the side of fries. What I don't like is the restaurant is dark and sort of depressing. Needs some updating on the inside. On the plus side, they home make giant cookies. Yum read more
