I just ordered online again and had to update my review! Ordering from their website was so simple, quick and easy. My order was completed within 15 mins of placing it! Their updated menu has an amazing selection of items. When I went to pick up my order, the girls were super sweet and the Christmas decorations were adorable! I got the Michigan salad subbed the chicken with falafel and got the raspberry vinaigrette dressing (perfect for vegetarians or vegans if you forgo the feta) and the portion size is huge even with the small size, definitely worth the price! I also got the falafel sandwich, the carrot chicken soup and a pound of their famous chips which are to die for (you can tell since a got the pound of it LOL) I usually order the chips with their garlic sauce and the Maurice dressing to dip in and it's the perfect snack. The sandwich also comes with chips and the salad came with warm pita bread and butter. Definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed! read more

I had read other reviews and thought well I was in the area so let's try it. I live on quite a tight budget and after reading the menu should have left as I was realizing dinner for one was gonna run me almost 30 bucks. I decided to try Garlic Chicken but was disappointed lots of noodles and not much chicken, it came covered in some un-appealing brown sauce. with some steamed veggies on the side. The veggies were OK. The dinner entre also comes with either a soup or salad, I choose French Onion, it left me wondering where the onions where in the soup. The waitress was friendly, checked up on me several times, which I appreciate. I just think if you are gonna charge 22 bucks for a chicken dinner as a customer I should get more than 6 oz of chicken. read more

I always go here with my uncle; it's a family favorite! Their carrot chicken soup is incredible; I've never found it anywhere else and it's so delicious. Their salads are fresh and are large in size, I've never been able to eat a whole regular size. I tend to go for the falafel or any of their lamb dishes and the food is pretty tasty, even their chips are homemade. The cookies up in the front are huge but still hold s lot of good flavor and moisture as well. read more

Many years ago, I went to Jennifer's frequently when I worked in the area. Today, after first trying 3 other places that were either closed or crowded, I decided to try again. I'd thought they had breakfast items, but I was wrong. However, they did have a Monte Cristo, which is kind of breakfast-like, so I got that. When I ordered, the server asked if I wanted syrup or jelly, which I thought was odd; I've never had it served with anything other than jelly, so that's what I asked for, seeing as most "syrup" is really just flavor sugar water & not syrup at all. I was surprised when it arrived: yes, there was jelly. The ubiquitous little packages of Smucker's jelly that every restaurant seems to have. It was difficult to get it out of the little packages, and it wasn't at all the right consistency to dip the sandwich into. I tried spreading it on the bread like other condiments, but the flavor didn't come through at all. The sandwich itself was ok. Not bad but not all that great, either. The bread was a bit soggy and the ham & turkey were very salty. The house made chips were good, but I think they may have been leftover from the day before because they open at 11:00, it wasn't even 11:30 yet and the chips were definitely cold. The iced tea was good and fresh but the glass seemed small. However, the server was good about bringing more without my asking -- although frankly, refilling the glass rather than bringing a whole new one is probably more economical. Still, the atmosphere and staff is good. And I saw a salad that someone else ordered that looked really good, so maybe something like that would be a better choice. read more

From the moment we pulled up to this restaurant something felt off. But I was willing to give it a shot as the reviews seemed okay. First, this is a diner style restaurant with no updates on decor etc. yet the prices are super high! I could not believe it to be honest. I almost left at that point but everyone was hungry and we decided to just go for it. We ordered a variety of sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads as we were a party of eight. The carrot chicken soup was almost inedible and I am a soup person! It was bland and had a weird texture. The Maurice salad had shredded lettuce that appeared to be old and the chicken in it had that strange leftover chicken taste. I couldn't stomach it. The size of the sandwiches was average but my husband and daughter said they were just okay. The wraps were huge! The kids each ate about half of theirs and saved the rest for later. But when later came home of them wanted to eat the leftovers claiming they weren't great. So I was very disappointed in the atmosphere, the prices and the food itself. Great Mediterranean restaurant in the area and around! Try some of their new middle eastern options, I had the chicken shawarma with a side of their spicy garlic! Very good! After hearing a recommendation of this place's salads, I decided to go there with a friend for an overdue lunch. There were a variety of options to choose from, but only 3 salads, which didn't make my picky palette water. They had a quiche of a day, which I unfortunately didn't try, but I did try their soup of the day: tomato chicken spinach. Now, while it wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever had, it was good enough and homemade enough to want to go back for more. My lunch partner ordered their carrot chicken soup, which was surprisingly good. I ordered a chicken pita for lunch, and I was surprised at how big the portion was! It was delicious, as were their fresh potato chips. I can't wait to go back again to try other things on the menu and eat more chips! The service was also pretty good. What can I say? Jennifer's Cafe is always so good! Not sure how long this local treasure has been around but its been a family favorite for at least 15 years. I have to admit that I don't really vary my ordering much - but thats because the items I do order have become downright comfort food! The only thing I want when I am sick is the carrot chicken soup! I always order a #14 - charbroiled chicken, havarti, lettuce, tomato and a spicy honey mustard, and a maurice salad! The small maurice will feed at least 2 people, same with the sandwich. Really you must tip your cap & say this is a well managed business. Jennifer's Cafe been a family favorite for over 20 years! Even with the current Covid restrictions, their food is a perfect carry out option and even with customized requests for their salad, everything is perfect when unwrapped at home. First... the carrot chicken soup is unlike any other we've tried. Delicious, reheats perfectly and served with whole wheat crackers. We always get a quart (which they'll provide hot or cold depending on when you plan to serve it). Definitely a yum! Our other favorites are the famous #14 wrap with chargrilled chicken, definitely delish with the unique honey mustard dressing. And finally, the "small" Maurice salad, so true to the old Hudson's julienned salad, and big enough to share or enjoy again later. Finish with their homemade potato chips and it's a delicious meal all around. Our other favorite dishes include the quiche, and the chicken with shrimp dinner, although we haven't carried them out since the shutdown. We always intend to, but can't resist ordering our #14 and Maurice Salad every time. We must admit that we were so hungry we didn't take photos of our food- but hope to next time... but there is always a next time... we're hooked! read more

First off, I got to say that there was really nothing wrong with the restaurant. The service was friendly and fast. Ice tea and diet coke refills kept coming. The food was....good. I hesitate about the food because it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, it was just, well, okay. I was warned ahead of time that it lacked in ambiance, but really? What's up with the ball and jacks on the wall? I could have done without the wood flowers on the table, the fake trees in the corner and don't even get me started about the, uh, sculpture on the wall between the bathrooms. Jennifer's was just devoid of any type of personality. I ordered the Maurice salad that everyone raved about. It was good, but not as good as Macy's. Amy had the ham and cheese wrap. She thought it was good, but not worth $8.75. The home made potato chips were really good, but who goes to a restaurant for chips? We both agreed that the food was overpriced. Maybe with better ambiance, we wouldn't have minded the price. We left full but not satisfied. I won't be going back. read more

It was odd seeing a small family-owned cafe' having Middle-eastern food... so I had to try it. It was fairly good.... not great, although the hummus was fantastic. I usually judge a small place like that by the burgers, but this time... I thought 'why not try to the Middle Eastern platter". It was a Friday night around 6pm, and we were only 2 of 4 people total in the place. My wife had the open-faced tuna sandwich, and she said it was "above average". We will go again to try something different, but nothing to write home about. The waitress even tried selling us "OMG, the Food here is FANTASTIC" Really? The waitress was telling us this? I have been going to Jennifer's Cafe for as long as I can remember. My mom would always take me to meet an aunt or my grandma for a "girls lunch." The memories I have there are almost as good as the food - which is absolutely fantastic! The menu is the perfect assortments of options for lunch; soups, salads, wraps and a variety of fresh entrees. I have tried lots of dishes but I do have my staples....maurice salad, #14 chicken sandwich and the cookies - they are the size of your face and delicious. I would say the prices here are moderate. Sandwiches range from $9-10, salads are $10-$15 and entrees are $11-$26. Meals come with pita bread and sandwiches come with their delicious homemade chips. Jennifer's Cafe is located in a shopping plaza on the corner of Richardson Rd. at 4052 Haggerty Rd., Commerce Twp, MI 48390. There is a huge parking lot so you can always find a spot. The sign is massive and it's on both sides of the building, so there is no way you can miss it. This restaurant has a diner feel to it but has a more extensive menu than you would expect. They have a nice selection of breakfast items and sandwiches but also more like salmon, veal etc. The price point from the low priced items to their main entrances are a little bit steep. We both ended up ordering their Reuben sandwich. They prepared the food quickly and it tasted good.
