I was excited to go to this new cafe that just opened. It was quaint, clean and the waitresses happily greeted you. Service was decent enough, the food took awhile to come out, and the food was very ordinary. I had the shrimp basket special. I got a decent amount: The shrimp were the pre frozen type, and probably would never buy if I read the ingredients on the package. Oh well...so it was quite simple: Shrimp, fries, 1 slice of lemon, cocktail sauce and a soda. My partner had the Fish and Chips. He was asked if he wanted garlic fries, he said yes. The fish was ordinary, 2 slices glistening with grease. Fries ok. When I got the bill, I asked what the 75cents was...well that was for the garlic fries. Guess that was extra. It was great to support a new local business, but having 22.00 plus a tip for lunch, and not feeling satisfied when we walked out, is sadly disappointing. As we drove away, we compared a few other places in the area we go to from time to time. One we included costs 10 bucks and includes NY Steak at night. Having work hard for my money, I am sorry to say my buck will go farther elsewhere. It just was not worth if for me to have frozen fried food. But when a place says "Cafe" one should know well enough here in Oroville. read more

This is our first time having breakfast in Oroville and we opted for this place. The word is simply a Wow! Amazing staff, great food and very jolly atmosphere. In Oroville for my cousin's wedding and we were looking for a quick breakfast so we gave Jenn's Cafe a try and I am so glad we did. Very cute and quirky dinerish feel and the food was delicious. We recommend the waffle and the biscuits and gravy (so yum) and the service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and our coffee cups were never empty. We were in and out in a flash, but if we had the time, we definitely could have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful morning and the delicious coffee. read more

Been here a couple times for breakfast and had a great experience each time! For a small town cafe Jenn's does not leave you wanting, the waitress's here are very friendly, they greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome! They get to know their customers and greet their regulars with a kindness that makes you wish you could live in Oroville (crazy I know but just go with it) just for that experience! We stopped by this cafe to eat breakfast on our way through town. It was small and quaint. The waitresses were all so friendly and kind. Service was wonderful..a little bit of a wait for the food but it was ire worth it! My veggie inlet was the best I've had in a long time. They have homemade salsa that was so unique and delicious as well. My son had the Reuben sandwich and garlic fries that he loved. We will surely remember this place for the next time we drive through Oroville. read more

I have loved this place since i was a kid...the staff is great and so sweet...the little diner is so cozy and i love all the windows so you can enjoy the outside while you eat your meal. I had an disgusting experience at Jenn's cafe this morning and will never go back. As I finished my omelet, I found two short, dark, wavy hairs that had been hidden by the food. To that point, my meal had been okay, though nothing spectacular. I started to get sick to my stomach and walked to the cashier so I could pay and get out before I threw up. When I informed the cashier of the problem, she apologized, but took no further action. I would have expected her to at least call a manager to address my concerns, but she just ran my card without further comment. I zeroed the tip, signed the credit slip, and got out. In many ways, I'm an ideal restaurant customer, I worked my way through college as a waiter, so I'm patient, rarely tip less than 20%, and even understand something like this can happen even in the best restaurants. The staff's disinterested failure to do anything about my revolting discovery is inexcusable. read more

Visited Jenn's cafe twice while traveling through Oroville. Once for Breakfast and once for Lunch. I can recommend this cafe without hesitation to anyone that wants a good "home cooked" style meal. The staff was very friendly and our group of four was very impressed with every dish. I was very pleased with the fresh home made potato salad which we ordered as a side dish. I have eaten there 3 times now. The food is good. Service is ok not very friendly but I get it. Hear my warning don't just order 2 eggs and 2 toast the rest of the food is around 12 dollars a plate for menu items with that said I was charged 13 dollars for 2 eggs and 2 toast 18 dollars with tip. Our breakfast at Jenn's Cafe was so good that I was compelled to write my first yelp review. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) each ordered a different variation of the "Traditional Breakfast." Mine was with the ribeye steak (hey, I ran 30 miles the next day, so it was warranted). I love ribeye and had low expectations. My son and I have Celiac disease and have to be really strict gluten-free. I also ordered mine with the home fries (essentially grilled potatoes with onion). Our order was complicated but came out spot-on. It wasn't super-fast, but, hey, real food takes time. Our server was friendly and patient with our dietary needs. Then, that ribeye... wow, almost as good as I could grill at home. My mouth is still watering thinking about that. And soooo affordable! Everyone else enjoyed their meals, too. Plates licked clean. Yelped Oroville on they way home from camping up North. This little cafe/diner was not only adorable, but the service was amazing. The food was excellent. There were 4 of us. I had ham and eggs with half a waffle, my husband had biscuits and gravy, my mom had a senior special, my daughter had toast cottage cheese and fruit. We all loved our meals. This is one of the reasons I use yelp when dinning in unfamiliar cities. I read the reviews & look at pics. I loved this little gem of a place. I highly recommend it. I gave Jenn's a low rating for the environment. We went in at 1 pm and there was smoke all through the building from a outdoor smoker that was right near the window. We sat at a table that tilted and creaked so much that we moved. Just after our mediocre meal was served they started vacuuming the carpet right around our table and the noise was so loud we could hardly have a conversation. We left earlier than planed and at the cash register I was asked the classic "How was everything". When I pointed out the terrible ambience she just shrugged her shoulders and said "have a nice day." I've been going to Jenn's for a few years now, not frequently but about every other month. I've never had a bad experience. It's a small hole in the wall place, which in my experience are usually the best. Even when crowded they've always seated me within minutes. The food is typical diner fare, maybe a tad better. Because the place is so small they're very attentive. Pretty quick on service based on how crowded they are. I've never ate outside but it's little more than a parking lot with tables; more of an overflow. I've withheld the extra star because of the outside seating. read more

Jenn's is a shining beacon of hope for the cuisine in Oroville. Everything we had was scrumptious and portions were huge, we definitely left fat and happy. Our server was actually Jenn, she was like a beautiful angel of brunch and was very genuine and friendly. When I went out back to use the restroom, I met her magic unicorn, Lafawnduh, that uses its magic to create a forcefield of happiness and joy around the place so that each and every customer feels loved and welcome. Jenn was very modest about her experiences in the magic realm, but we could see the light glow of heaven all around her as she gracefully balanced unbelievable amounts of food on her arms, it was truly supernatural. We tried to use some sleeping potion to knock out the staff and steal their magic elixirs, but alas, they held steadfast and did not waiver at our feeble attempts to overcome their wills. We retreat, beaten and humbled, back to our lair with only the vivid memory of our beautiful time at Jenn's with no other way to obtain this joy, but to return. Definetly had better, breakfast is always fairly good. Lunch by far not delicious. Jalapeño cheddar burger on ciabatta, definetly needs help. First thing I noticed was exterior of building falling apart, second notice on door about higher cost of business etc., third dirty windows lots of caked up holiday window paint around the edges. So let's get to the burger, ciabatta was crumbly so obviously not fresh, not toasted, cheese barely melted, cooked on flat top and tasted like it might have been steamed slightly so it had absorbed a lot of other flavors from flat top, absolutely so seasoning.
