AVOID PEDICURES HERE AT ALL COSTS. The entire experience felt rushed and unhygienic. None of the tools appeared to be cleaned between customers, and I personally watched them reuse the same foot scrub stone on another customer while my feet were drying in front of a fan because they don't even have LED lamps for toes. There was no massage during the pedicure -- they just slapped some liquid on my legs and moved on. Paying took longer than the actual service. They also advertise multiple deals on signs outside the shop, but once inside they claimed all of them were expired. Promoting expired pricing to get customers in is extremely misleading and likely illegal. Those advertised deals were the reason we stopped in. Before sitting down, we specifically asked what forms of payment they accepted and told them we only had Apple Pay. Instead of telling us they couldn't take it, they rushed me into a chair and started the service anyway. My spouse had to drive around to nearby stores and ATMs trying to get cash, and we ultimately had to leave our ID behind just to go to our bank, which wasn't even nearby. The staff were not accommodating, not cooperative, and clearly understaffed with only two people working, so every customer was being rushed through as quickly as possible. How does this place get good reviews?! The "Spa pedicure" lasted 18 minutes total: 15 seconds of callous stone, no scrub at all, and she slapped lotion on my legs but there was zero massage - not even a half-hearted rub. With no other customers waiting, I was still rushed out before my nails even had a chance to fully dry. This would be an express pedicure or "polish change" at any other salon ... I was recommended through my MIL because I was in need of a new nail tech and I'm so thankful to come across this little hole in the wall. She managed to take off these super thick acrylics my old nail tech applied and save my natural nails in the process. Super appreciative about that! This is not to be mean but I'm very confused why there are 4 stars. I understand the customer service and price was good but the quality was not. Yes Jenny was very nice but I got a pretty bad infection on my pinky finger and nail after getting my nails done. I would not post it on here as it does not look very pleasant. I think it's from the unsanitary tools and using them right after another customer. It's been bad... It's irritating and itchy with puss. The salon overall was sanitary or cleaned. I got a pedicure and right after, she asked me to walk barefoot on the uncleaned carpet to sit on the chair to let my toenails dry. There were no sandals provided. I had such a nice experience here. There was no wait time. I came in for a long awaited pedicure and I was ready to relax and be pampered. The salon was clean and spacious. The chairs were in excellent shape and it had a massage feature that I enjoyed from start to finish. My nail tech drew the warm water and as soon as I put my feet in it, I was in total relaxation mode. I'm really mad at myself that I had forgotten to ask her name. I was just so excited to get a pedi done, I checked out as soon as my feet hit the water. She was so nice and super sweet. She was very gentle on my feet. If I lived closer to the area, I would absolutely make this my "go to" salon. I will however make an appt here if I'm in the clairemont area for something else and need my nails done. So long nail jobs don't impress me. Jenny is the most skilled when it comes to making your nails look natural and clean. She is also quick and thorough. And when she's done with her process she asks you if you notice anything that needs refining and I always - ALWAYS leave her shop satisfied! Before with every other place, I would shave it down to the shape I want or sometimes would ask the ladies to stop after applying the acrylic and to please let me shape then they can finish by coloring. No one really likes that but that's what would end up happening. Why do I love Jenny for Nails? Two reasons: 1) Jenny and Hannah do a fabulous job with my nails, and 2) Jenny and Hannah are wonderful ladies whom I like very much. I have been coming here for several months now. I originally found Jenny because she was close to my Tierrasanta home, and I was unhappy with the nail salons in Tierrasanta. I keep coming back to Jenny and Hannah because I get great service and they are wonderful women. Jenny does a fantastic job with my gel nail manicure. She takes time to allow the polish to soak off, rather than filing my nails to oblivion like many other salons do. This keeps my nails in great shape. She only has about 20 colors of gel polish, so if you need the whole rainbow to choose from, you won't be happy. The colors she has are plenty for me to choose from. And she does a great french manicure! Plus, if you become a regular, she will buy whatever colors you tend to like. Hannah does wonderful pedicures. She is very meticulous with her work, and does awesome designs! She is also the house waxer, and she will wax anything you need as quickly and painlessly as possible. The salon and equipment are older, so if you are looking for that chic, ultra-modern spa experience, you won't find it here. The spa pedicure chairs are not the best, so go with the regular pedicure instead. They do not do airbrushed nail art, and have no nail decals or charms, so bring your own if you want them. They do all of their nail art by hand. Their prices are fair. They are both wives and mothers, and work every week, Monday through Saturday. Jenny has two sons in their 20s, and Hannah has a special needs son. Bottom line: If you are looking for a no-frills, quality nail and wax experience, then this is your place. If you need all the bells and whistles, then you will be happier somewhere else. By the way, they take CASH ONLY, so stop at the ATM on your way there. :) read more

She told me cash, from day one. Could be a race thing...and that's pretty shitty of her if it is... Hmm, hard to know... I don't speak the language... and she's damned polite and friendly I'll tell you that much! So now, I go when I can. She'll usually take me in a moment's notice when I need to my eyebrows waxed. I used to work right off of Convoy which was right around the corner so it was convenient to pop over after a long day at the office...or at lunch time. Not convenient so much any more... but the nail place that is walking distance from my house is MEH...the ladies are curt, I leave there not feeling like I've had a good scrub on my heels for the pedicure and the service just is not as good!...same price....so I'll make the trip for special occasions... After several disastrous attempts at gel and acrylic nails at various salons, I was ready to give up on ever having nice looking nails (I had horrible allergic reactions to everything I tried). So glad I discovered Jenny! The salon is very small and old school, nothing fancy or exotic, but Jenny does silk wrap nails which are difficult to find in the newer salons. I gave silk a try as a last ditch effort at having nails, and hallelujah!, no more allergies! My nails look lovely and last as long as gel or acrylic. At $22 for a fill, very reasonable price, too. Jenny and Hannah are both very nice (Hannah does a great pedicure). Salon is cash or check only (more old school), and doesn't have a lot of services offered in bigger salons, but the customer service and workmanship make up for that. I live across the bridge close to sonic & this place was convenient. I asked for a pedicure & i guess im spoiled? But i saw no massage chairs & they gave me one of those buckets. Which i was cool about because i get it, its not typical to get a massage when you are paying for a pedicure. 1 star because I got ripped off. All I received was removal of my gel and a "manicure". The lady is older, so the quality of her work was off. When removing my gel I had to point out spots she missed because she couldn't see and she barely removed any cuticles (I have hella dry skin, there's so much cuticle to pull from!). The place is relatively clean, but definitely needs a revamp. She has old nail polish bottles and tabloids everywhere. This is a prime example of a "hole in a wall" kinda place. I had high hopes bc she's been here for years, but will not return because of her unfair pricing. Read for additional detail. I walked in and asked if she could remove my gel and get a new gel manicure, she quoted me $27. She started working on my hands right away. I asked if she had any unique designs, but she stated she only has basic colors and can make a design on top of the gel if I wanted. In the middle of taking off my gel, I realized I didn't want a basic manicure so I said I'll remove my gel then get a manicure (expecting cuticle removal and a buff). She took off my gel, quasi faked out removed my cuticles, and asked if I wanted clear nail polish. I said no and that I'll just put on nail hardener at home... she charged me $7 for removal and $12 for a full manicure when I didn't even get polish, buff, or massage (I declined the massage). I looked at her and said, so I'm paying $12 just for cuticle removal? She answered, "Yes". I retorted "So if I get gel, I would just have to pay $8 more?" She said, "Yes", eh-cu-me? This makes no sense, she legit just hustled me $12! Now, if she actually removed my cuticles like a professional, I don't mind paying $12 solely for that. She had no chill stealing from me, so I have no chill giving her a bad rating. I understand times are hard. She expected to do a gel manicure and I changed my mind. She has to make money so I expected for what I got, she would have charged me $10 or even $12... but to charge me $19 whole dollars... that's poor business. I already expected to tip her 100% of the service bc I felt bad she had no customers and I changed my mind, but she took matters into her own hands and literally charged me $12 for nothing! I bumped up my rating to 2 stars bc she's friendly, removed my gel and shaped my nails, but ladies, if you have ever paid for getting your gel professionally taken off, you know majority of salons charge $5 or no charge if you get a manicure with them.. this owner definitely up-charged me.
