Same service with a more appealing environment AND new name. They began remodeling in February 2024. It was completed in March. The result is beautiful, fresh and it feels bigger. Same friendly faces with a couple new ones (original owner told me she is spending less time in the shop to spend more time with her family). Prices have increased though. I actually had sticker shock when I went to pay! I have been coming here for over a decade so I've experienced the prices going up as the economy changed but I was not prepared to pay $72 for what I used to pay $42 for (pedicure w/gel polish $35, underarm wax $7). I had an appointment for a pedicure and underarm wax. When I sat down the nail tech handed me the menu which she opened and turned to the page titled "Pedicure". I told her I wanted the "classic" with gel polish. She said "ok". This is my typical service except I usually add callus removal for an extra $5 but I had an appointment afterwards and didn't want to run late. Pedicure was good as always but felt shorter in terms of massage time. Waxing went smoothly. Then I go to pay and the lady says $72!!! In my head I was thinking WTF and trying to add it up on the spot. I figured it would be somewhere around $55- $60 give or take. I expected there would be a price increase since they just remodeled and upgraded everything but WOW. I gave her my card, added tip & signed. I left in such dismay and disappointment. I've been coming here since 2007, I know all the ladies, they've seen me with both pregnancies and watched my kids grow up. Now, I don't think I'll be going back. I moved away from the area years ago, but continued getting service here because the ladies know me, my usual service and the price was reasonable. It wasn't a glamorous salon but that didn't bother me. Now they offer you a complimentary beverage while you get your service. A free drink might be appealing to some but I'd rather not pay for it on the back end. I actually enjoy buying a drink from Rockies or Ks sandwiches and enjoying it while getting my service. I took photos of the menu so that I could add up the total in the car. Turns out the price for a gel pedicure is actually $52 - it was listed on a totally different page that I never saw because the nail tech directed me to the pedicure menu. The underarm wax increased to $20. I should have looked at the menu for the new pricing but didn't think it would have tripled. I understand they gotta increase their prices to stay afloat with today's economy but I feel being a regular customer for over a decade they could have given me the courtesy of letting me know that prices had a notable increase. I'll be going somewhere closer to home now but if you're looking for good nail & wax service try this place out. I came here because it was close to my house and they had great reviews but I probably won't be back. I gave 3 stars because staff was overall nice and things don't seem to be their fault. Poor management seems to be more of the issue. Place is in serious need of new equipment and cleanliness. Seats are all ripped and worn, they do not use liners in the foot bath, and all of their lotions and scrubs are kept on the floor and they just grab what they need by the handful as they need it. I really needed a pedi at the time or I probably would have left. Lady also cut my foot which isn't unusual but given the cleanliness issues and unkept vibe it made the experience that much worse. read more

I often frequent this Nail shop. HOWEVER, the last time i went , will be the LAST time I'll step foot in. My last visit I received a pedicure. A day later my toes were itchy. I didn't think anything of it . A week goes by and by big toe felt as if it was going to fall off. Two weeks later I couldn't take the pain anymore and had to go to Urgent Care. There was puss and blood coming out of my toe . I was given antibiotics and pain meds . Those didn't work. I'll be seeing a Podiatrist in 2 weeks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! As a nail technician myself, this place was absolutely horrid. So many factors to not go here. 1. Extremely unsanitary 2. They did not wrap their pedicure bowls with a bag which is very concerning. You are suppose to put a plastic wrap over the bowl in between every client. 3. They left my pedicure bowl of water COLD 4. The nail tech used THE SAME nail file, buffer, cuticle nippers, pushers, and clippers on me from the client she had just worked on next to me. I literally saw her throw the tools into a basket after using it on brought it over to me to use. 5. I had gel polish on my toes - instead of using them off with acetone, she took a coarse file and began to file my toes. My big toe was harder to come off so instead she took a CARBIDE bit and but it on high speed and started to drill off my gel on my toes and it burned so bad and she tried to do it again after I told her to stop. 6. It is day 2 now and I am developing an infection in my big toe. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am reporting to BBB regarding this matter. read more

I've been going to this salon since 2004 and Q & her staff "clean" and "sanitize" their instruments, tubs, sinks, etc. or I would have NEVER gone there in the first place. I enjoy going to this nail salon and their prices are reasonable plus it's very close to my favorite sandwich shop " K" sandwiches. If I could give them a zero I would. Worst salon I've ever been to and I always try to see the bright side of places. Firstly I walk in. No one says hello just "what you want done" .... ok. I respond with gel manicure, and regular pedi please. "Pick yo color". I ask them at least 8 times if they have the gels colors that have a matching regular color to it too WITH the matching numbers. Because I do not put gel on my toes. Just my nails. My old salon had the Gel Polish/Regular Polish DUO's. They say yes just pick a gel polish. So I do. After they start I find out that they were just gonna pick a toe polish similar. That's not what the hell I asked for. And the girl there who's young with a man bun was such a rude ___ about it when she realized I wanted the exact match. Same brand same name and number. Not OPI GEL on my nails and China Glaze on my toes. NOT TO MENTION; half their colors are cheap non-name brand colors. The man bun girl continues to complain about me in her language since all the workers are looking at me. You can just tell. So I say screw it I just want a regular mani pedi and the man bun girl gets up and throws her hands in the air and gives me to another person. If I can't have the exact DUO like I explained walking into the salon then I don't want it!? Well she's livid. So she gives me to an older women who doesn't even speak an ounce of English but she was sweet. So I get a regular mani-pedi. They douse my skin in acetone and my nails. They put SO much acetone on my nails prior to putting regular polish on them that the regular polish is FLAT/MATTE looking. I didn't get a matte polish! She said " wait for the top coat it will get better" sure it got a little better but not by much. It's not shiny like usual. It's super matte because of the amount of acetone they use. They just squirt your with a bottle all over your skin. And after everything is over I notice all nails are even cut and filed evenly....... & My skin is cracking because of it of the amount of acetone. The older lady was nice but the young girl I could live without. I won't be returning here. Ever. Its not clean and it's not a nice establishment. It just wasn't for me. Honestly worst place ever.. I figured I would try it out since it's close to my school and I always have free time in between classes . WORST MISTAKE EVER! I always get my nails done somewhere else and I always get powder acrylics . When I got them here they were uneven , the acrylic didn't fit my nail (I have smaller nails than usual but places always have one that fits) and they were WAY too pink. At first they looked really nice , but after maybe 3 days they started growing out and a weird thing started growing on my finger .. it has yet to go away and I've tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it. Clearly this place is unsanitary and just wants to take your money. If I could give it less than 1 star I would!! Looking for a last-minute mani/pedi before a trip, I asked at Cool Clips hair salon where I should go. Susan pointed across the shopping center to Romantic Nails, since that's where she goes! They put me right into a chair, even though they were closing in a half hour. I loved that there were no high-pressure sales tactics that I've experienced at chi-chi salons. My nails were damaged from a gel manicure at one of those, and the advice here was to simply buff them and let them breathe. The nail tech worked really hard at buffing! There are two types of people. The type that wants to have a conversation while they are getting their nails done, and the type that wants to quietly read a magazine or zone out. I am the latter. Actually making chit chat with strangers stresses me out so it kind of goes against what I'm trying to do while I'm getting my toes soaked. The three stars were earned because - the nail polish job was fine, Tammy stayed late to take me in, and I really like the massage chairs here! Now, I had just done a LONG run the day before and was looking forward to treating my legs to a nice massage. I can't even remember the massage. I'm not sure if it is because it was short, or not good, or what because I was distracted the whole time by Tammy who talked to me continuously about the difficulty of her work situation. Basically she kept trying to push me into her network of regular clientele. If you want that kind of personalized, interactive service then definitely, book Tammy here. I do feel bad, because she was generally nice and her situation is difficult, but unfortunately, this is totally not my style and I'll probably be frequenting my normal nail salon down the street from now on. What a terrible, terrible place...it's close to my home, so I really wanted to like this place. I stopped by here after my chiropractic appt where my doctor had put pain-relieving medicine on my neck. The owner greeted me and asked me to pick out a color..pretty standard service, right? WRONG! As I was choosing my color, I could hear the owner and the girl with the short hair talking about me in Vietnamese and making snide comments about my medicine's "odor" and sarcastically joking amongst themselves that I had "brought in my perfume for them to use." I'd had a long day and decided I'd let it go and continue letting them think I did not speak Vietnamese and therefore did not know they were talking about me. But wait! The plot thickens! I chose my color and sat down with the girl with short hair. She started trimming my nails very roughly, so I pulled my foot back and she huffed and puffed and grumbled, but she did not apologize or acknowledge that she'd hurt me. She merely stared at the place where my foot used to be and waited, frozen, until I asked if she could be gentler because she had hurt me. She began working on my feet again but was muttering under her breath and shaking her head as if I was making the most ludicrous request. Hello??? You're the one that just hurt me!!! I'd finally had enough and asked if there was a problem. She argued back and forth and did not once apologize for hurting me. Finally I got up to leave and let the owner know the Golden Rule when you own a Vietnamese nail salon.... If someone even LOOKS Asian, maybe you should wait until they're gone before you start trash-talking them. I visited Romantic Nails on a late Wednesday afternoon simply for two nail fixes on my acrylic. I arrived at around 4:30, walked in and stood at the front where a woman asked me what I needed done. The shop wasn't busy (AT ALL), however after telling her I simply needed a fix on two nails, a service that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes max, she told me to come back at around 5pm. 5pm rolled around and I entered the nail shop and stood at the front. The same women were obviously working, however proceeded to not acknowledge my presence or even greet me. I've worked in establishments such as this one and others and I'm generally understanding as I've had customers treat me badly. HOWEVER, I stayed seated until 5:20 and in fact another woman walked in after me and was promptly seated and serviced before me! After exchanging words with the manager of the shop, I calmly explained to her that they didn't seem busy at all, and had girls lounging around instead of doing a simple fix on TWO nails, I just decided to get up and walk out. The women working here are rude and honestly like many others, I would NOT recommend this establishment to ANYONE looking for a pleasurable, relaxing and timely service regarding their beauty needs. read more

My favorite nail salon. I drive from Oceanside so I can go here when I need to get my nails done and I always get them done by Kieu. She is the best nail tech I've ever been to and she was the only person I would even considering having do my nails for my wedding. She is just very skilled and very friendly. The rest of the staff is very friendly, too. They are all great at what they do. It's also nice because you know they don't allow people who are not licensed (unlike some nail places) to do waxing because they will tell you she is only in on particular days. Parking lot is a downfall, but it's definitely doable and worth it if it means leaving with the perfect nails. read more

I had a half day today and I wanted to get a pedicure on my way from work to my baby sitter's place. I found this place on Yelp and made an appointment. Upon first glance, it doesn't look like much - a small nail salon in a small shopping center. I'm currently half way through my pedicure and I can honestly say I'm never going back to my old place again! Aside from chairs tjay could use updating, this place is perfect. Way too expensive for the quality (or lack therof) they provide. Got a gel manicure Thursday, and it was peeling by Monday. Pedicure polish was chipping too. Not really the cleanest place either. Hot towels they use look like they came from the car wash and are super scratchy. I would definitely recommend going someplace else. read more
