My friend had recommended coming here because it was so cheap. It's $25 for a full acrylic set. I called in earlier a head of time to see if I can make an appointment. I specifically requested for Nina, since it seems like most of the good reviews is with her. They said Nina had an appt at 6 and if I can make it at 5:30 she could take me in. Which was quite surprising since 30minutes is not a sufficient time frame to do a whole set. So I came in anyways, it was super slow on a tuesday evening. I wanted to get my old set completely taken off and had a new one put on. Nina and her niece each worked on each of my hands at the same time to remove the nails. Nina worked diligently and fast, but her niece was hurting me and kept stabbing my skin. It was obvious that her niece was a beginner, which I don't think she should have allowed her to help with such a task since we all know that acrylic nail removal is painful in itself. But overall, the results of my new set, some fingers are slightly a bit thicker than others, and I requested for coffin shape, and the shape size is a bit inconsistent too. I got my nails done by Nina. She was pretty good the first few times then I chose this neon yellow color and the color wasn't drying right. The color kept peeling off like there were large bubbles under the top layer. I had to get the color redone 3 times. Nina said she had never seen gel do that and that the color must be old. The last time I asked to just change it and Nina said they would charge me $18 to change it. I explained that it wasn't my fault and I have an important meeting next week (I'm going to my companies national conference). She explained that they would charge me even though it's not my fault. I kept wondering who she meant by they. But I'm stuck with the same color and the one she repainted looks terrible. Needless to say they are cheap, $20 a fill, but I guess you get what you pay for. I won't be going there again. The place is a disaster as well. It's not very clean the cabinets have stuff just thrown in them. The samples of nail colors are mostly chipped. I came here for the first time and most likely the last time. I walked in at around 10/10:15a. Service was great...I was greeted and sat right away. I got a gel manicure. The nail technician was real nice and very friendly. My issue was with the final product. Even though she was a super friendly lady, she put too much nail polish on which left my nails thick and "bloggy" looking. The polish dripped over and while under the uv ray light it dried that way therefore, the nail polish peeled off within a couple hours! I didn't think nothing of it until I saw that it was already coming off. I love the color and wish she had done a better job. This is a cash only nail salon. I was unaware of this, until the very end of my appointment. And had to go to the atm next door, which cost me a 3 dollar surcharge on top of the nail service and tip. If I was told before hand I would have been able to go to my bank and withdrawal the amount I needed. The service is a little unprofessional and there supplies are not up to date. I needed a last minute pedicure for an event I'm attending and this was the only salon that had an opening after 5 to do so. I called and made an appointment and once I got there, I was not offered any water or refreshments but to just pick a nail polish color and to sit at the station I was assigned to. (They're nail polish are low quality brands, yet they did have some opi and orly but alot of the polishes I saw were like Revlon, etc.) My nail lady did everything but a top coat and that bothered me a little because all she did was a base coat and 2 coats of polish. I came here for a quick manicure, and decided to go ahead a do a gel manicure. I noticed a lot of the polishes on the display were covered in dust but I didn't think anything of it (sometimes AC units suck). My nail technician began working, soaking my hands for maybe like 1-2 minutes before she began working on my cuticles. I had picked one color (reddish-pink), so I expected a base coat to be applied to avoid staining my nails. She applied no base coat and proceeded to paint my nails. I brought this to her attention and she stated that there was no need to the base coat due to the type of gel polish, so I trusted her and said ok. I began to notice the color was not applying evenly, leaving my nail dark in some areas and lighter in others. I again brought it to her attention and she asked me if I would like to pick a darker color, to which I agreed hoping a darker color would help. She dabbed some acetone on my nails and then buffed some (not all) of it off. At this point I could clearly see ny natural nails were indeed stained, but I went off what she told me about the product. She finished the color of my nails, but I kept noticing the edges of my nails poking thru the polish. I didn't want to be a bother, so I decided to grin and bear it. At this point two older women came in and from the conversation between them and the other staff, My walk in was taken by their technician, despite having been called to come in early. They appeared a little put off, and my technician seemed to be done sooner than I expected. At the end she informs me that they are CASH ONLY and I walked across the street to the credit union for their money. Upon going outside in sun, I was able to better see my nails, I could see the smeared stain from the original polish color around the edges, under the current gel color. Two-three nails you could see the natural nail along the edges. I withdrew the money from the bank and returned to pay and discuss the issues I had. I expressed my lack of satisfaction with the manicure and wanted to see if we could work something out, because after all she did work on me and I didn't want to not pay her. I attempted to tell her what was wrong and was cut off by "It's fine, it's fine, you don't want to pay, it's fine" and her walking away from me, waving me off. I was really disappointed in how it was handled and the fact that I was being brushed off. I walked out upset with my nail job, and feeling like I was being accused of not wanting to pay. Now I have to go and spend more money to correct it. read more

For $18 I got a nice looking (if you don't look too closely) and fast gel polish w/french tips application. (No manicure) This place is best described as you get what you pay for. My old gel was buffed off and the dust was never wiped off so I have white swirls in most of the "clear" part of the nail. On some nails the gel doesn't go to the edge on others it's running off. Not enough time was allowed between layers for curing under the UV as I was asked for the next hand after 30 seconds each time I was counting bc it felt soo hurried and I already feel little bubbles in the gel after only two hours. The ladies were nice but the quality of the work is not great so at least I will not be going back. Note: This place has NO relation to the Elite Nails in La Jolla which I frequent and LOVE and will absolutely not cheat on from now on. read more

I've been coming to Elite Nails for about 8 years now, every couple of months; my sister has been coming here very regularly for many more, and turned me onto the place. We always make appointments to come in, because they do get busy. I see people come in off the street, but it seems there's a bit of a wait in those cases. I stopped in once on a weekday without an appointment, and did wait a while. I almost always get my nails done by Nina, and mostly come in for pedicures. She's super nice, and does the best pedicure. She does such a great job, it lasts for months without even chipping. A couple of times other ladies here have done my nails and I haven't had as much success. They do a nice job, but it doesn't last as long. And I've gone to a number of other places over the years where I've just regretted it. So I'm sold on Elite, and sold on Nina. My does my pedicures and is always patient with me when I change my mind about a color or request difficult art work. Nina and Lynn always do a good job on waxing my eyebrows. Which is okay since i had walked in w/o an appt but the lady who painted my nails took about 10mins max & did a sloppy job compared to what im used to. She left some of the sides of my nails unpainted & didn't clean up the clear gel from around my nails/fingers. The color is really pretty but i wish she would've taken more time doing my nails. I don't request a particular staff member because they all do a good job.
