There were lots of sides offered off to the side of the register which was nice and there wa plenty of seating inside to food court. I ordered the Jajjangyum + Tangsuyuk. The Jajjangyum was one of the best i have ever had honestly, the sauce was perfectly think with pieces of onion, pork snd potatoes inside and the noodles were perfectly thick and bouncy. The Tangsuyuk was fried nicely? Not too hard and very delicate breading that was nice. The radish that came with the meal was such a nice touch as well. I miss my Korean Chinese noodle spot in Queens, NY. This place is the closest to the authentic taste I missed. I get my gigantic hot bowl of Jjampyong (spicy seafood) noodles! Out of everything I've had here I do think their strong suit is their jjamppong. The portion is huge, I can definitely get 2 very hearty meals out of it. It has lots of mussels, clams, and squid in it too. The Jjajangmyeon isn't as good as Paik's but it still does the job. Tangsuyuk portion is on the smaller side especially compared to the jjamppong. One of our usual stops is this KYODONG NOODLE Our usual order here is their JJAMPONG + TANGSUYUK - its a Seafood soup either regular or their Spicy one, then always with Fried Pork with sweet & sour sauce . You can order both separately or in combo. We always get the Combo because it saves you more money than getting them individually. Also, this combo is good enough to share for 2 people, their bowl of Soup is big. My wife always order them Spicy soup which I can tolerate at a spicy level , with good broth and noodles and plenty of Seafood in it. Kyodong Noodle is located in the Hmart near Convoy street. They're one of five food options in the food court with shared seating. They have my favorite black bean noodles in San Diego. The sauce is very flavorful and has a good portion of meat and potatoes. I usually pair their noodles with another dish from one of the other restaurants (typically kimchi stew) and it's enough for two people. The staff are always super friendly and are one of the only restaurants there that provide water cups for the water fountain. 10/10 would recommend! read more

It was nice that it wasn't drowning in the sauce. And now the Black Bean sauce with Noodles: it was good but the sauce was a bit salty for my taste. Personally I prefer a lighter sauce but others may like it as is. (As usual, I was wearing a light colored tank top and as usual I had splattered some of the black bean sauce on myself. A great option at the Hmart food court. My usual is the jjamppong. It's a HUGE portion of spicy seafood soup! Definitely shareable between 2 people. I think the noodle to protein ratio might be off, there is a ton of noodle. There's about 5 mussels, 5 clams, 1 shrimp, and many octopus pieces. But it does hit the spot for spicy soup. I haven't been able to find tasty Jjajangmyeon in San Diego for a LONG TIME, but Kyodong Noodle solves that problem. Ordered the Jjampong, Jjajangmyun, house fried rice, and tangsuyuk. The tangsuyuk fried skin was too hard and wished it was lighter and crispier. It was tough to bite into since it was so hard, but the sauce helped soften the fried outer layer. Besides the tangsuyuk skin being too hard, all of the other dishes were great: Jjampong, Jjajangmyun, and house fried rice. The jjajangmyun came in a 2 tier bowl with the sauce on the lid which could be poured directly into the container holding the noodles. MMMMMMmmmmm they gave plenty of sauce and it was tasty, even for a to-go order. It's my favorite place for Jjajangmyun in San Diego so far. read more

The food court at the H Mart on Balboa Ave has seen a lot of turnover in its short existence. Kyodong Noodle is a recently opened vendor with two more vacant stalls soon to be filled by new businesses. Korean-style appetizers, dumplings, noodles, and rice dishes were the menu offerings. The black bean noodles (i.e. jjajangmyun) were one of the featured items that seemed to be most popular with customers. I picked the Seafood Jjajangmyun which had a healthy portion of black bean noodles stir fried with proteins like clams, mussels, and shrimp. The sauce was salty for my palate though as I needed a lot of water to help digest the dish. Some of the prices were expensive with certain appetizers and dumplings costing more than the noodles or rice. Since my visit occurred right before they closed, I noticed one set of customers being turned away at 7:45 pm even though the kitchen was still processing orders. I wish the lady at the service counter would have been kind enough to accommodate them because they were patiently waiting, and there was no sign indicating the closing time was going to be earlier than 8:00. read more

We tried so many food on their menu before and their were all good but their Soup is the reason I always come here. Two days ago we came again and tried: * JJAMPPONG + TANGSUYUK - JJAMPPONG is a Spicy Seafood Soup and TANGSUYUK is a Fried Pork with sweet and sour sauce * JAHPCHAE RICE - is a Glass noodles with Pork , veggies , rice The SOUP that I always order is a SPICY one, they also have a non-Spicy version, but I prefer the one with the Spice. It has a lot of seafood like Mussels, Squid, shrimps, and veggies. The noodles on the soup are always Aldente, and the Broth is spicy and delicious ! I always order my SPICY SEAFOOD NOODLE SOUP here with their FRIED PORK, it's a pork with a sweet and sour thick sauce. It's a good combo with my Soup, whenever I have too much spice from my Soup, this Pork with its sweet sauce helps lower the spice on my tongue. The Glass noodle is the new one that we recently tried, at first my Son got scared 'coz of the big Red Peppers he saw, but it turned out it wasn't that Spicy. My son said it was a good Glass noodles. Was craving some jjangmyeon and had some Grubhub credit. I was in the area and found this place on Grubhub. This place looks like it was recently opened so I decided to try it out! I placed my order and waited for pickup. I was pleased with the portion size. I also appreciated that they separated the noodles and sauce. I was also pleased with the amount of side pickles they gave. Many Korean places i have gone to either don't give 3-4 pieces. Overall the noodles were and sauce were on the sweeter side which I actually prefer. Price was about ~$13 which is average nowadays. This place is located in h mart so parking wasn't an issue. Everything is great here except for their white rice. I have tried their signature dish, jjampong and up-jjampong, which have really rich seafood broth. I have substituted rice for the noodles and the rice here is really a let down. I come back every time for the refreshing sensation of drinking the rich broth but if they can improve their white rice, it will be amazing. Decided to come to the H-mart food court for lunch on Friday. The food court was not very busy and I got my food quite fast. First impression was WOW this thing is gigantic!! Well I already knew that before I ordered but still, it's impressively big! It's funny that the spoon that came with it was so so small. Would definitely be better if they can increase the spoon size. The noodle was tasty. Soup was very nice but not really spicy (I am Thai, my tolerance level is very very high). What I like about it is that there's a good amount of vegies in the dish. Did not want to get too full, I finish all the seafood and veggie, ate about one third of the noodle and call it a day. It was good so I could have kept going but self control comes in handy in this case. Next time, I may take half to go and eat only a half at the food court, or take the whole thing to go and eat only half. The size definitely is for two people. read more

Ordered a take-out, but got it as a dine-in. They acknowledged and attempted to correct it by taking the bowl and pouring it directly into the to-go container with noodles and all. I saw the whole thing happen as I saw the contents falling out onto the wok area. They sealed it up and gave it to me. The cashier said I'll get a new order, but he had no idea. Of course I said no I'm not taking that. Front guy tried to act like it was all good it's new and that's it's okay and they didn't put the spilled contents back in. Yeah, well I lost some of the contents I paid for that spilled not to mention how poorly it was done. Eventually I got someone that seemed like a boss to understand and fix the whole thing for me. Also, ordered extra noodles and didn't get that in my initial order and had to mention it twice. The food itself is good, but what I fear is the general practice of this place. If they're willing to do what they did, who knows what else they do with our foods in the back. Very sus and sketched out. Haven't experienced this kind of practice in about 20 years. I really wanted to give this place a 5 after being a regular here for years, but after my last experience, I cannot in full confidence do so.   To begin, I exclusively order jajangmyeon noodles when I visit. Janjangmeyon noodles are incredibly hard to find in Convoy (and in SD), so I love that this place offers them. Their price is competitive, and you get a lot of noodles for the price.   On my recent visit, the noodles were just okay. The sauce was lacking the deeply umami flavor that I love about this dish. The dish just seemed underseasoned. I swear that these noodles have always been fire, but on my most recent visit the noodles were okay. I think this place had an "off" day which happens - I am confident that if I visit again the dish will be much better.   Charlie helped me out this last time, and he was great! A smile goes a long way, and his smile combined with his customer service was awesome. He made my average experience with the food into a better experience after the customer service.   I am going to give this place a 3.7, rounded up to a 4, after my last visit. So we go to this H-Mart food court pretty often, and occasionally try new things. My daughter wanted to try the Ulppong at Kyodong and it was fantastic. The flavor weirdly reminded me of chinese chow fun dishes (one of my favorite meals), and the portion size was huge. We all had some of it, but took the rest to go in a soup container, and it was easily another whole meal for me. You get a lot of food for their price. Is it like "food court" quality? Yeah, but it doesn't make the food any less comforting. It's convenient if you're heading to H Mart anyway. I had the jjajangmyeon combo with tangsuyuk and my partner had the jjamppong. We had enough leftovers for two more meals. I think the best thing was the jjamppong. It was too spicy for me but I could appreciate how much seafood and vegetables were in it. Definitely big enough for two to share. The jjajangmyeon was large as well, but the sauce was a little too rich and thick for my preference. I would have liked more meat and cucumbers, especially cucumbers to cut the rich sauce. The tangsuyuk had some great pieces and some dry pieces. I wish the pineapple wasn't from a can, but it was a huge plate to come in a combo set meant for one person. Stopped by here before doing some grocery shopping for some Korean items. This place is located in a small food court situated inside of H-mart market. I had a craving for jjajaameyon so I ordered it, the price was very reasonable at $11.99. Service was fast and they give you one of those pagers to let you know when it's ready. Either the noodles or the sauce was too watery though, more than expected, so the sauce had real trouble staying on the noodles. read more
