Very great food but very unhealthy lol. I love the local feel of the place and their portions are great. The cinnamon rolls were to die for even if I have to run for a week to lose the weight I gained from eating one. Service was not as good. It took a while to get our food and they were not very personable but I would still go again for the food. read more

Pleasantly surprised at the number of protein options in this carb-loading restaurant. We were even able to get a good sliced tomato in place of hash browns. Great service from Mary. We were visiting Pocatello for a football game and found this place on yelp. It's a quaint older spot filled with locals and some of the hardest working people I have seen running a restaurant. The cinnamon roll and deep fried scones are out of this world. The scones reminded me of the fried bread my mom used to make. Just a warning the portions are huge but delicious. Almost hate to write about this place. One of those little gems you find on the road where you want to ensure it doesn't get overrun by the masses. But this place has possibly the best breakfast I have ever had. I make it a point on the road search out diners, and it gets easy to tell who cuts corners and who really cares. Service was really nice, the place was filled with locals and the food was fantastic. After the first bite I would have been completely happy with a plate of buttered biscuits and jam, but the hash browns do Idaho proud, and ham had to have its own plate. Just plain good. Why complain about parking, you are going to need a walk after packing away your vittles. read more

I really liked this place . It is small and crowded . But we were able to get a seat quickly . The breakfast was large and we couldn't eat it all . The gravy was homemade . It could have used a little seasoning . But was still good . The scone was huge . And came out hot . They need more waitresses . The poor waitress was running her butt off . And I think she was the only one for the whole restaurant . But she was good and efficient . I thought that the prices were good . They are only open for breakfast and lunch . Its slow . The food was bland very poorly made. Ridiculously unprofessional! The waitress and the cook were fighting to the point where it was so uncomfortable that I just l wanted to leave. As we were paying there was some thing they had charged extra. When I pointed it out to the lady checking us out she slammed the check and said I'm not doing this yelled at an older lady that was there and told her to do it. I had been wanting to try this place for years and finally got the chance. Never again! Food is good but service is very hit and miss. Too many times my servers did not refill my coffee and forgot about existence. I would have rated higher but bad service does not make up for good food, especially when there are other restaurants in the area with equally as good breakfast and have much better service. Visited this restaurant as the reviews indicated it was #1 for breakfast in Pocatello. Let's just say I was much more impressed with the Best Western continental breakfast than the sub-par meal we were served here. The gravy was luke-warm and bland, the biscuits were stale and didn't seem like they were freshly baked. My family use to eat at this place but no more. Went today and they would not seat us, four booths open and the counter . She asid she couldnot seat us until the rest of our group came, but tow guys sitting at a booth sat and waited for a friend. The waitress both of them, was so rude we told her we would like some coffee , but still she would not seat us. After numerous recommendations, we decided to try Jumbo,s for breakfast. There were some hits and some misses. The hash browns, bacon and pancakes were great. The sausage gravy was average but we did not like the type of biscuits that they were serving. The portions were very large and you won't go away hungry. May try this place again in the future but will definitely try something different then the biscuits and gravy. read more

I have been eating at this little place since I was 14 years old, in 1964. I have eaten here periodically through the years. The last few years my husband and I go in for breakfast on a regular basis. Their food is just like a homemade meal. Best little restaurant in town. Never, have I ever gotten a bad meal. The cooks do an amazing job, and the waitresses treat you like family. Yes they do get really busy, and sometimes you have to wait, but you won't find a better place to get a fantastic meal. read more

My food was pretty good. Got the breakfast quesadilla that had good flavor. The hash browns were buttery. Ordered a side scone which you should keep in mind is the size of a plate. I couldn't finish all of my food. The scone can definitely be shared between three people, but it tasted really good. The down side is the restaurant is next to a liquid propane work site and it smells like gas even inside the restaurant which can be very unpleasant and even cause headaches. My wife and I are conflicted about our visit. The service was great, the people were nice, and the food looked impressive. The problem was that the food had no taste / seasoning, the price was way too much, and what I got was not what was advertised on the menu. As for seasoning, a little salt and pepper would have went a long way. Our potatoes, gravy, and eggs tasted like nothing was added to them during cooking. The only taste we could distinguish was the grease. Secondly, a corn bread like cake is not a biscuit which would explain why it was extremely dry. Lastly, I ordered country fried steak and instead was served a hamburger patty with gravy on top. That is a hamburger steak not a country fried steak, which is a tenderized steak battered and fried. We will not visit again which is sad because it has so much promise and a few changes would make it a great place. Seasoning the food would be a good start. read more

We were greeted by a friendly young gal who sat us at our table. Good start ......we thought. She took our coffee order and then a very surly woman delivered it. Oh joy our waitress. Not sure what prompted her rudeness, but there it was the entire time. The only time she attempted to be cordial is when she brought the check (thinking about her tip no doubt). Never once did she check and see if the food was okay. Which is about what I would say about their food, okay. I kept the receipt as the server's name was on it. I thought I might just call later and let the owner know that her waitress might need some schooling on manners. But me thinks the owner probably could care less. When outside going to our car I noticed etched on a rock something like "Lisa's Diner", LOL Lisa was our server. If the food had been great we might have tried the place again and gone with the theory Lisa was having a bad day. But this place is not worth the rudeness that goes with the mediocre food. read more
